I would never buy a house any other way!!!! We were first home buyers, unsure of everything. Although we only had a small budget we really needed some help to organise and focus our hunt. My partner has done the same. The property is still advertised online as 'available', though even if it's been leased already I would have appreciated a response to let me know.
