Had an 11am appointment set on 10/19 with a sales person whom I will not name so he will not think this is about him. I received a reminder text a week prior and a confirmation phone call the day of my appointment, I arrive at the lot at 1030am and I’m greeted by Brandon bc my sales rep had another client. I was told to sit near the window in which I complied. I spent an entire hour and 25 minutes before my sales rep came to officially speak to me . He says he wasn’t told I was there. I am not sure how that’s not possible as he had just called me at 10 am but that’s neither here nor there. I was then told that I can come to a nearby desk to get the process started. I bring exactly what I was asked to bring in regard to the documents needed to get approved. After my salesman made copies of my documents , Brandon then comes from his desk to the desk that I’m siting at to enter my information in. I noticed my original salesman has now gone back to his desk with his client that was there before me . This was the first red flag for me as I felt I wasn’t valued . I’m not sure if it was the black hoodie that I wore or if it was the color of my skin bc I am a black man. As Brandon proceeds with the application I was told that I had to send him screen shots of my direct deposits hitting my account ..I did that …then I was told that “everything looks good, but you will have to provide check stubs from your old job that you had 5 months ago….I did that. I notice that my credit is now being checked bc I got the notification from credit karma and they also called my current job to verify that I work there bc the front desk supervisor had immediately told me that they called. I’m left alone at this desk while all of the other customers that came behind me are at the other desks with their salesman chatting it up and creating relationships. I totally feel weird and the vibe was off to me. I then was told by Brandon that a guy from the finance department was coming out to speak to me. Surely the guy comes out and asks me to come to a little office area and to shut the door. This interview was to determine if I can afford the car or not. Prior to this Brandon said that the finance department does not care about the score, they only want to see if you have any open auto loan accounts in which I do not . During this Interview my account history is being dissected and I’m being questioned on past auto accounts , I’m being questioned on how much I paid for my dog, how much my groceries are, how much my haircuts are, how much fast food do I buy, ect. All in all I answered it truthfully bc I haven’t had a car in over 4 months So of course I can spend a lil more on miscellaneous stuff. But if I had a car note I know how to operate with a budget and those things will be cut out. Next I was asked for my room mates pay check stub bc he will not be able to run the application without it since him and split rent at my home. Then it dawned on me that I was being racially profiled (not by Brandon, bc he is black as well just a lighter shade ) OR even judged based off my appearance. So the finance guy proceeds to say “ we don’t have grace periods here if your payment is not made by 6pm on the day it’s due then you will be taking the bus to work the next morning “ with a lil chuckle behind it to soften the blow he just threw at me, however I’m used to those kinds of chuckles bc that’s normally what Caucasian men do in the corporate world after they have said something offensive. The finance guy then prints out two pieces of paper. One showing that I can’t afford the car( bc it shows that I pay total rent with no roommate) and another showing where I can afford the car. The then says that he is 99% sure that the finance team will need check stubs from my rooms mate….I’ve never heard of that ever a day in my life at any dealership so I knew at that point that he needed to find something that I can’t provide since everything else that I was asked to provide was given to them. Next thing I knew I was denied .

The ABSOLUTE WORST used car dealership. Yes they may be used vehicles, but they sold me a lemon and refuse to take it back or make any repairs without me paying for a service contract. and when they do have the vehicle they don’t even fix the issue! I had two catalytic converters out and they told me it was the transmission ‍♀️ and it would take at least two weeks to fix it. All while I still pay them almost 500 a month. I’ve had this car for exactly 1 year and already had to sink 6-8000$ into it in fixing it alone. Not including payments. DO NOT GO HERE and if by chance you do make sure you look over the contract FULLY. they kept me at their dealership for 8 hours and I was so ready to leave I glanced over everything. They added a lot of stuff on without my knowledge and added in the service contract without my knowledge as well. They will also charge you license fees and a regular title fee and an e-title fee. BEWARE

If you can avoid this place. Charging 16k for cars with mileage over 100k the cars are trash. My car have spent more time in the service department then with me. The first day I drove my car home the service engine light came on. Tried to return it the first day but was told it would be a repo on my name. Service department went through two managers both nonchalant and simply can care less what’s going on with them cars. No empathy the new service manager simply stares at you upon arrival want say a word. Can’t give a straight forwarded answer with what’s wrong with the car. Only good reviews on here is because they make you complete the survey while signing up for the insurance. Avoid this place.!! Don’t let them tell you your credit wants allow u to get anything else it’s other places u can go. And Dan the finance manager you don’t have to avoid contact to not answer questions. All them cars on the lot are trash run people.

My advice is very simple JUST DONT ! Here’s what’s gonna happen if you buy from these thief’s. Your gonna sign card gonna break down cause they don’t even check calipers or basic stuff . They deflect gas light and Shawn Johnson owner will do it all with a smile . And you’ll end up buying a $2500 car just to get down road and pay your payment so you don’t get a repo which there whole system is set up to . Get your down payment money use you to pay 30 percent interest and then threaten you ! When you can’t pay ! A absolute waste of my time it’s cost me as of today $17k to buy a car from them that’s not even worth $2500 ! Trust me you’ll regret it me and 20 other customers are working to all go to attorney general of nc and force them to envtogate them Very very sad what they did to me and my kids and once again do it all with a smile

Byrider definitely helped when I was in a bind, I really needed a car and I didn't have a high down payment, Brandon at Byrider was very helpful in helping me get into a car, I liked. Brandon was a great help! I was able to drive off with my new car. But they sent they towing man JACK to come get my jeep!! You can be 1 day late they sending jack out!!! After all the hell I went through the first week I got the car!!! The motor went out, they kept my car almost a month!!!! Then when I got it back!!! It started running hot! The did fix it, but y’all wanted me ti be patient, but now I’m having a lil financial issue y’all can’t be patient!!!! But Brandon was wonderful

They’re good at fixing your car if you have any issues on or off the road. The best used car I’ve ever purchased.
