Watched Today's (Sat 17Dec2022), Close Encounter of India W vs Australia W. Exciting environment. Full House. Support for womens cricket is ever growing. The Brabourne Stadium is a cricket ground in the Indian city of Mumbai, which was the home ground of IPL franchise Mumbai Indians. It can accommodate 50,000 people for sports matches. The ground is owned by the Cricket Club of India (CCI). The North Stand of the Brabourne housed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters and the 1983 Cricket World Cup trophy until 2006 when both were moved to the newly built Cricket Centre at the nearby Wankhede Stadium. The Brabourne Stadium hosted Test matches from 1948 to 1972 and it was the venue for Bombay Pentangular matches from 1937 until 1946. After disputes over ticketing arrangements with the CCI, the Bombay Cricket Association (BCA) built the Wankhede Stadium a few hundred metres north of Brabourne Stadium. After the Wankhede Stadium was built, Brabourne was no longer used for Test matches, although visiting teams played a few first-class matches at the ground. Apart from cricket, the ground has played host to tennis and football matches as well as music shows and concerts. In recent times, international cricket has returned to the Brabourne; it played host to the ICC Champions Trophy in 2006 and it was the venue for the first Twenty20 International played in India in 2007. Brabourne hosted a Test match in December 2009 after 36 years, thus creating a record for the biggest gap between two tests at the same ground. The ground was home to the Mumbai Indians, Several matches of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2013 were held here. At its AGM in September 2013, the BCCI unanimously decided to allot international matches as per its rotation policy thereby bringing the ground back as a regular international venue. BCCI also used this stadium on 29 May 2014 for IPL playoffs that is eliminator between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. In IPL 2015 the venue was secondary home ground to the Rajasthan Royals.
The stadium is very near to the Churchgate station 5mins walking. Opposite to "Ambassador". The stadium Pitch is absolutely nice. One side of the stadium's Pavilion to (east) has to suffer from ultra sun ☀️ rays. I saw people holding paper to cover their heads & faces to prevent light. Huge terrible to that situation. If matches are in the Morning or Evening. The Westside has a roof covered. The stadium has moveable chairs. And here there's no seat no. You have to seat anywhere in your block e.g. block 6 is of middle row seat anywhere. Here are (Pros & Cons) hope you come to know. The stadium should be renovated again. And it has only 20,000 capacity very low. Need to increase. The stadium is of only 1st/2nd floors. Cricket lover❣let's know the history of Brabourne stadium. • The Brabourne Stadium is India's first sporting venue located at Churchgate, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. • The World Cup trophy was placed here until 2006 when it was moved to the newly constructed Wankhade Stadium •The stadium has hosted a test match between India and Sri Lanka in Dec 2009 that created a record of the biggest gap between two tests on the same ground. •This stadium saw Sachin Tendulkar hit the first double century and made his team win the first-class cricket match. •The stadium was named after Lord Brabourne who initiated the construction of the stadium that was designed by Neville De Mello on 22nd May 1936. •The only T20 international that was played here was on Oct 20, 2007, when Australia lost the match by seven wickets to the hosts.
Firstly, the stadium is conveniently located in South Mumbai and is easily accessible by public transport. The stadium has a capacity of around 20,000 spectators and is known for hosting important cricket matches, including IPL games, Test matches, and One Day Internationals. The stadium is well-maintained and has a beautiful, green outfield, which adds to the overall experience of watching a cricket match. The seating arrangement is comfortable, and the view of the pitch from every seat is excellent. The stadium also has plenty of food and beverage options, including local snacks and drinks. One of the unique features of this stadium is that it has a heritage stand, which is a pavilion designed in the Art Deco style. This stand has been preserved from the original stadium, which was built in the 1930s and was later renovated to become the modern stadium that it is today. Overall, CCI-Brabourne Stadium is an excellent venue for watching cricket matches. With its central location, comfortable seating, and beautiful surroundings, it is a must-visit for any cricket fan visiting Mumbai.
Reviewing as a Non-member. Visited for a CCI organised swimming competiton. At the CCI outdoor pool. Tight security at the entry gate with the personnel restricting Non-members from entering unless for a specific purpose. No parking within the premises for non-members. Very clean and maintained to high standards. The entire garden area, the podium around the pool, the air-conditioned changing and washrooms. and the canteen facilities are excellent. The pool itself is clean and water is clear with minimum chlorine. Plenty of spectator seating available around the pool area, the facilities are well marked and easy to navigate around the place. Food is reasonably priced and tasty. Tea/coffee and hot Snacks were available throughout the event. Overall a good experience with well organised and helpful cooperative staff on hand.

- Sharing experience about stadium well organized and we'll maintained. - IMP Water Was Available for all at multiple locations with use and throw cups. - WPL By Tata prices was so affordable ( ₹100/seat) - Have multiple washroom ( near and clear). - We'll Organized seating for All. - Food For Vendor Was So Expensive ( x4 times for outside food). - View as clear and player are nearly Visible. - IF Your luck playing team well distribute some goodies ( T-shirt, Flag and Air horn(not specific)) - This Stadium is one of Mumbai's old stadium ️. - Located near Wankadhe Stadium.
Watching match in stadium is always fun. It is very nearby from Churchgate station if u r coming by train and by car off course parking is concern. Food is available inside at little costly and washroom was ok ok. East Block dont have roof so if u r planning for afternoon match then try to get west side tickets. Any type of water bottle is not allowed inside and need to keep at gate at owners risk. Pls carry Cap and umbrella in afternoon match. Very Important...within stadium range thr is network issue mainly for Data network, voice call network was fine. Enjoy..
Its Very Nice place to vist. I have been to this ground for the first time to Watch a National Cricket tournament. It really a fun and space is good. Just one problem I had was hotness in this Stadium and no facilities of Fan or coolers in General Stand and Left side of the Sitting place where the Shield is there to protect from Sun. There I experienced lot of Pillars which comes in middle while watching the live match in Ground. If this stadium would have.. Pillars Stand than it would be Great. Overall a Good Experience.
Smooth Turf. Quick Outfield. Usually a high scoring pitch. Easy Check-in. Buyable Food Pricing. Good Vibe due to small Stadium. Just the seats are nothing but plastic chairs so that can be an issue for long term sitting, otherwise it's good. Watched SRH v KKR here and saw so many of my fav players together. Also witnessed the great Gavaskar Ji very closely. Try getting Western Block seats as they hold more crowd and thus more fun. Also the sun-sheds are only on Western Block seats so prefer it if it's a day match.
The stadium is average, plastic chairs...nothing great about it. I went for WPL game.. They don't allow coins, metals, backpacks, food inside. Small ladies purse is allowed for women, wallet and phone ok. No other electronics including powerbanks. It is walkable from Churchgate station, no idea about parking facilities.
Stadium filled with rich history surrounding Indian cricket . Watched India vs West Indies odi match here and got the best seat in the house in the North stand . Amazing experience watching the match without any hassles , the stadium has been properly managed even without any international matches being played there .
The stadium has an awesome ambience and is located just next to marine drive. It is easily accessible by the public transport and the nearest station is churchgate. Went to support MI in WPL and MI won the match . The food available is good along with proper drinking facilities but the seats aren't that comfortable.
We visited Brabourne for the RCB vs Punjab kings IPl. The stadium is small. We were seated in the far end of the pitch.. hence the visibility was not great. Compared to Wankhede this is a far smaller stadium. However our experience was memorable and we hope to return for another memorable experience....
Brabourne stadium most famous stadium In India. It's located in Mumbai. Just near marine drive. I have been to this stadium to watch SRH vs KKR IPL match. I went there to cheer for srh. Srh has won the game. They won't allow inside any boards and flags. Stadium has a beautiful view from inside.
It's a good stadium. But before visiting that you should keep some points in mind. That Coins, bags, high quality camera, and water bottles are not allowed in the stadium. You have any thing in these. Then you will not be allowed to enter the premises. You it will be taken away from you.
Went there for the 2nd Match of the WPL, the Ticket Collection experience was horrible. It was 1 hour into the game and we still didn't have tickets in hand. Missed out on the explosive batting from Shafali and Meg. Otherwise, the Stadium was great, Match was once we got in. Had fun!!
CCI-Brabourne Stadium, located in the heart of Mumbai, India, is an iconic cricket venue that exudes history and tradition. Having visited the stadium for a match, I can confidently say that it offers an unforgettable experience for cricket enthusiasts and sports lovers alike.
It was my first experience in a Stadium. It was a good experience. kindly note : chillars(coins) ,Bag,laptop or water etc are not allowed inside stadium. The food is pricy..the samosa costs 80 rs. So avoid taking the baseless food. Enjoy the vibe of stadium and the experience.
Wonderful experience amazing view from all around, one of the best stadiums, apart From the lush ground outfield the most important thing which makes the stadium special is the spectators. The stadium facilities have been great with great outfield, good seating capacity etc.
Well, I was seated in the west block. Went for MI vs LSG. The viewing experience was good but the CCI can at least put modern seats at the Brabourne stadium which are more comfortable (just like the ones at the Wankhede) and would provide a better visual appeal.
Watched WPL Final. It is not so advanced stadium. Sound is something they should work on. Overall nice experience. It very easy to teach there. Just outside churchgate station. After match, you can enjoy at Marine Drive. Remember... No coins is allowed inside.
Loved this small stadium. It has an old world charm to it. You will have a feeling of going down history when you see the pictures on the wall. Very close to the station. Evening games are fun. Cricket lovers should visit the gallery on 1st floor.
Coins not allowed in stadium which is bad rule, stadium must be upgraded that no such incidents take place, but people are asked to keep the coins outside which is not a fair stuff where will he go and use those coins inspite of enjoying the match
Small Ground compared to other Cricket Stadium. Multiple Gate entry. Just opposite Churchgate Railway Station, walkable 2-3 mins. Tight Security, Water Bottle / Sanitizer Bottle not allowed. I need to buy a glass of water in the Stadium. … अधिक
The oldest stadium in Mumbai. Situated close to Churchgate station adjacent to the Wankhede. The seats are of plastic chairs but are comfortable as contrary to wankhede where seats are bit small. Experience was awesome with electrifying fans .
It was amazing experience. First time i have visited so big cricket stadium. It was wonderful. One must go if you are cricket fan. We went there for INDW vs AUSW - T20 match. Would recommend go for East stands it is open from above. But … अधिक
One of the best Venues to watch the match when u compare it to wankhede or DY patil, open stand for a evening match is perfect , lot of sea breeze . Food is super expensive , Pizza was pathetic , at wankhede and DY Patil u get Domino's Pizza
Must have seen better days. Hot as hell. No ventilation. Only popcorn served. No water. Pillars, roof obstructing view. Floodlights flashing into eyes. Only 1 Screen for replays. Music speakers only making noise, no music. Sitting on … अधिक
It is a nice statadium if you jsyt want to watch the match. It has the cheapest tickets starting from 800 for IPL. It is best for the ones fmwho want to come on TV as just take the ground seat, and stand untill a boundry comes towards you.
Enjoyed IPL matches here last season with office colleagues The stadium is Spacious with around 50,000 capacity. Lights and sounds are good. Being a small stadium for cricket it gives a clear and close view of matches. …
Stadium is quite small with only one layer If you enter through one gate then yiu probably can sit anywhere there is no restriction as such Still wud advice to sit on westblock 6 loeer deck if you want max attention from camera
It's a cricket stadium in Mumbai very close to Churchgate railway station, I went to see IPL match between LSG & RR it was great ambiance and excitement, stadium is small and very intimate it was very secure and well organized.
It's a nice stadium though the capacity is much lower I watched the WPL final It was good to see the drinking water provided free inside for the general public, The seating arrangement was good, entry too was properly organised
The newly modified stadium nearby Wankhede. If you ever want to book a ticket, always go for east stands where the chances of getting the balls are higher. West stand block 3 is best because it's nearest to the Camera person.
Hospitality seats in Brabourne, the most expensive seats, but worth the price. Excellent buffet and everything was close by. Great aesthetics and service. We could sit anywhere we want and wasn't uncomfortable in anyway.
Small ground as compared to DY PATIL. Look out for west side stand for afternoon and evening matches as there is no cover on East side (can be seen in pictures) Been there for RCBvsPBKS match. Great experience overall.
It was my first time in any stadium and it was a very fun experience with the friends the staff was also very helpful and all the security check went very smoothly. Overall a very good first memory to remember
Not so good as compared to other stadium.... There are no proper site for every the chair are installed in half of the stadium, it's feel like sitting in someone's marriage Very bad experience …
I genuinely feel good over there, all facilities you will get like drinking water tap, and the snacks sellers also there. But seats are not comfortable and also there is only one score board I saw. … अधिक
It's a good stadium. But before visiting that you should keep some points in mind. That Coins, bags, high quality camera, and water bottles are not allowed in the stadium. You have any thing in these.
Decent stadium, half of the stadium is not covered with a shed which makes noon matches terrible during Summers. Good facilities for water, washrooms and kids Well behaved security staff and guards.
A cricket stadium where from any corner the view is excellent for the spectator. Built according to colonial English standards. Watching a cricket match at this iconic stadium is an experience.
Had gone to watch Tata WPL match. It was well coordinated event. Security and Staff was friendly. Just try to go 30 to 1 hour early so you get higher chance to choose better to view …
Amezing place, the huge stadium and where i Watch WPL. Of RCB and DC. Here some pics.. And video of ground Amezing crowd will be there on every match.. Guy's give like and share. Thanks
Amazing Experience watching IPL match between Mumbai & Lucknow at CCI Brabourne Stadium. Great Ambience and hospitality at the Club. Would definitely visit again. Great experience!!!
It was my first time in any stadium and it was a very fun experience. The staff was also very helpful and all the security check went very smooth. Overall a very good experience.
Oldest stadium managed by Cricket Club of India. Till the turn of the century, all important matches used to be played here. Carries memories of some great matches.
Watched an IPL match and the stadium was pretty good. But this stadium does not have a huge seating capacity for the audience like the nearby Wankhade Stadium.
Small but beautiful. Very scenic, protects heritage. A landmark every tourist should visit. Mind not to halt at the 'Pizza by the Bay' just at its front.
It's a first cricket stadium which i have visited in life. Good to access. Friendly staff. Clean and Hygiene with availability of food and water.
It's near to Marine drive, and a nice open stadium. We enjoyed WPL final match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals.
Well managed but required more food stalls and prices are too high for foods... otherwise old is gold...nice stadium
East stand in the evening time is best , can view the sunset also. Small stadium so, Players are clearly visible.
One of the best stadium in Mumbai....!! Watched WPL T20 !!! Enjoyed watching cricket match between RCB and UPW .
Watched the first time played the Women's Premier League here and the experience was fabulous . …
It’s a very good maintained cricket stadium where dandiya night is conducted by the CCI club mumbai
