Made a false statement that AFCA instructed them to complete a leak detection test. AFCA denied this and stated they no have jurisdiction to do so. I have found this company to be highly unprofessional in many matters. Further to the last communication Dear Brett Thank you for taking the time reply to my review and for launching the subsequent investigation into this matter. Whilst I appreciate an apology from Marie-Laure McPartling - IDR Team Leader, I cannot accept that Ally Marshall Dispute Resolution Specialist could make a profound error of this magnitude. A mistake is when you forget to attach a document or mistype. As you correctly identified, this is a serious matter. The other factors such as redacted email address, excessive amount of phone calls in a single day, pressure to complete a leak detection (when I believe independent report identified the leak) and wrong information relating to AFCA dates portrays a different scenario. I also cannot accept that the existence of different internal CHU / CGU departments cannot resolve this matter. I recommend you resolve the core issue of my case with urgency and professionalism.

No stars for this company a but I had to choose one as the post is not acceptable, reality is negative stars. Had two unfortunate claims with these folk and both were dismally managed. First claim took 8 months of bad management especially their contractor My Repair Build, worst business I have had the misfortune to experience where staff were also incompetent. It took the Insurance Ombudsman to step in and with the expertise of an independent assessor (CHU assessor was incompetent and rude just like all the staff I dealt with) the work was completed to an acceptable standard. Second claim shaping up to not disappoint. Melissa, rude and unhelpful, condescending and accusing. I will of course go elsewhere for my insurance cover and even if they are are half as efficient it will be advantageous to me. Only good news in all this is they paid out more in insurance claims than the total cost of the premiums I have paid.

I have been with CHU for almost two years now. This time, Brett helped me with my query. I particularly liked that he was transparent in his advice and provided recommendations which helped me decide how much contents insurance I should get. Despite the time difference (me in the US and he in Australia) our communication was smooth and efficient. I look forward to continuing this service with CHU and would recommend them to others too!

Our premium almost doubled this year with no clear explanation , our committee reached out to them on 8 occasion with finally a Vague response. The body corporate who recommends this insurance get up to 20% commission on any service that’s recommended so a doubled insurance premium is welcome by them. Kangaroo Court at its very best.! Ombudsman office all the way. 1 star rating is too good for them.

I really appreciated the help I received from Brett Power. He pro-actively contacted me to talk about our Body Corporate Insurance Plan about a month before it was due. It was very timely, as the BC had decided we'd like to investigate changes. Brett was very clear in his explanations of our situation, and promptly sent multiple plan options for us to discuss. Have been insured with CHU for my apartment for several years now. The process to obtain a quote was very straightforward and the quote was competitive and I find the wording to be reasonable compared to other insurers. Renewal process has been easy and premium remains competitive. Haven’t had the need to lodge a claim thankfully, but am very pleased with CHU thus far.

Have just taken out a policy for our apartment unit. Looking for an insurance company that specialises in strata properties. CHU looks like is provides just that, the process to obtain a quote was easy and the quote was very competitive. Good payment options with no additional fee to pay monthly. This policy looks to have meet our needs, very happy with CHU thus far.

I recently renewed our Landlord Insurance with CHU which was reasonably priced compared to some other Companies however, with CHU you pay an additional "brokerage charge" which was not excessive but an additional charge added to the overall annual premium. If this additional brokerage charge was removed, you would entice a lot more customers.

Spoke to Terry on 280917. answered most questions but was very arrogant when asked to define answers and spoke over the top of me consistently. very rude attitude. he's in the wrong business for customer relations. try the live senate, can talk over the top of more people at one time. pfffft

Definitely not a typical insurance company, you have to pay out before they will reimburse which on average takes 6 weeks roughly. They send a "broker" to inspect damages, who OOPS fails to mention 3/4 of the issues that need replacing. Customer service is a joke. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

I have a number of properties insured with CHU and have always found their prices to be very competitive. I have not had the cause to submit a claim yet but the communications regarding renewals, policys and the like have always been timely and professional. So far so good !!!

Sneaky and duplicitous. Refused an insurance claim based on minor termite damage when water damage was clearly the main source of the damage. they didn't even mention the water damage in the report, as that may have been claimable.
