It is usually very busy and noisy, however, not so over the weekend. There are loads of cars, buses, trucks almost blaring their horns at the same time. So many people moving around, you barely identify the coal tar floor of the road. Everyone here is on the move and quite fast, very conscious of possible thieves. It is not unusual to find people clutching hard at their bags and belongings. CMS is even going to be busiest location on Lagos island with planed light rail - the rail tracks are already up. The enterprise around this area is incredible, the local sellers mostly come from islands around by boats and leave back by evening. As early as 7am, business has commenced with great movements to and fro CMS. It is a place to visit, even for a reality check.
Horrible experience I must say. I got harassed by hoodlums while filming this shot. The area boys were all over the place. So I suggest the best thing to do if you want to film there is to go with a friend or two. Have some money to spare when they ask. Be as humble as possible just so you do not talk yourself into trouble. Or you can go with your personal security (a police or mopol) to avoid all the hustle. And get proper permission before you fly just do you don't get caught on the wrong side of the law. Be safe, fly safe.
When we talk about Lagos, CMS has to be one of the top 3 places to talk about and visit, else, you havent been to Lagos at all. It's a usually busy area, even at midnight, it's never boring here, the sight of tall buildings and wonderful architecture adds to the beauty of this nice place, you can never get tired of walking around.
CMS bus-stop is hub to buses plying several routes to the rest of the Island as well as back to the mainland. Places like: Lekki Ajah VI (Eko Hotel Roundabout, Adéọlá Odeku Obalende Mile2 etc This bustop experience a lot of rush hour during the week. This is a major landmark in Lagos and its popularly know as a place from where passengers can easily connect with both Mainland and Island parts of the city. Several head offices of some publicly quoted companies are located around this bus station and thus adding to both heavy vehicular and human traffics.
Frequent stop here for some weeks now. Ongoing development on the expressway and another long bridge being constructed that passes across which will in every way give this bustop a new look by the end of the year or up next year. Both BRT buses and normal transit buses drops and picks up passengers here.
This is a standard Bus Stop with a waiting booth. BET buses stop here regularly to pick passengers. BRT staff are always on standby with tickets and POS. It is a lonely place most times and touts frequent here as it is close to a make- shift bus stop and jetty.
One of the classic landmarks in Lagos. From the iconic seat of The Church of Nigeria (Anglican) to the commercial offices in Marina and the port across the lagoon, nice place to see in Lagos.
I travel through this route almost every week. Crowd, Blue BRT buses, Danfo...everyone is on the move. The breeze from the lagoon, slow moving ships, stranded boats...make my mood melancholy.
The scenery is beautiful and easy to miss for the regular Lagos commuter rushing to work. I would recommend taking out some time to observe and admire this location
It has been renamed to The Forensic Centre, owned and manged by the Lagos State Government. It has been remodelled, designed to accommodate its new purpose
You get buses going to various parts of Lagos here. Lots of buses, you don't seem to wait much longer to get a bus going to your destination here.
This park is beside the speed boat boarding park leading to tarkwa bay or apapa. Its quiet scary, no rowdiness and no sellers.
One of the busiest bus stops in VI. You can get bus going to most part of VI, lekki, Aja and Epe.
