Minimalistic, modern, hip looking café. White walls, blond wood furniture and bright lighting makes this café picture perfect for Instagram. While this cafe has some great coffee, they are also known for their Korean bingsoo dessert. This a great summer dessert made with shaved ice flavored with milk and topped with various toppings like fresh fruits or candy. When we went here last, we ordered the mango bingsoo. And it was so very refreshing! The mangos were perfectly ripe and complemented the soft, snow -like texture of the shaved ice. It’s a hefty dessert and can be easily shared with one or two others. We also tried some of their cold beverages. We ordered the strawberry lemonade, matcha lemonade and the berry acai drink. The strawberry lemonade was delightful. It was not overly sweet or tangy with lemonade flavor which I liked. I thought the berry acai was very tasty but had a hint too much peanut butter for my taste. And I did not care for the matcha lemonade drink, but my friends thought it tasted great. The interior design gives off a welcoming feel; and low noise level and free Wi-Fi makes it a great spot to stay and work on your computer. They also have a cute outdoor seating area. Overall a really nice café with great drinks and desserts.

Friends of mine asked me to go to cafe auburndale to try out their signature dessert since i love dessert. Long story short, I ordered their signature dessert: matcha and oreo croffle, tiramisu waffle and large hot macchiato. As soon as my order was ready, the smell of the waffle made me to have some more even before I eat them. It was so buttery and so fluffy as well. I really do recommend to try their tiramisu waffle when you are there! Their matcha and oreo croffle is just not for me personally. Their coffee is alright not strong enough for me. The ambience of the restaurant is really comfy. By the way, they have a backyard that can be used for small group. This restaurant is self service. However, they keep the restaurant clean! Overall, great spot for hang out, meeting with long time no see buddies!

The decor is great and even has a nice outdoor seating area. However when it's busy the tables are dirty and even though we asked them to clean it - it was sticky still. The price is about average for the current rates for milk shaved ice from $16-19. However they are all basic with just the milk shaved ice, a scoop of ice cream or just red bean with a fruit or mochi but pretty. The green tea shaved ice was ok - very sweet and didn't taste like green tea; more like vanilla. The milk shaved ice was ok as well with just red bean, mochi, and milk shaved ice but no classic multi grain powder. The strawberry shaved ice was the best. The best was the ice vanilla latte - the espresso beans were great but the price was steep costing a little over $7 for a large - which is more than even an ice venti vanilla latte from Starbucks. However knowing that, I have to say if everything, I would go back just for the coffee but other than that I'd pass.

Came here to try their renowned bing soo. We got the Matcha and mango flavors. they were about $14 per bowl which sounds a little bit crazy but even between the four of us we couldn’t finish two; one would have worked for 4 of us, especially if you’re just coming for dessert. The girl at the counter also recommended the milk flavor as one of her favorites; I will definitely be coming back to try that one with friends. The space itself is super spacious, plenty of seating, excellent atmosphere. There's the main floor of seating by the register with smaller tables to seat 2-4, then in the back there is a more private space with about 4 tables (one of them quite large, a booth, could fit about 10 people), and outdoor seating beyond - perfect for the ice cream. inside it was a little chilly, so bring something warm if you do plan to stay. There are outlets as well, so I would have said this was the perfect study spot with the lighting and the selection and the seating, but NO WIFI!!! if that is okay by you I would totally hang here to study. Selection of drinks and other desserts seemed also decent. I will 100% be coming back!!! Recommend :)

Cute cafe! I've bookmarked this place when I saw their pretty bingsoo pictures on yelp! Was looking for a dessert place after having lunch in the area over the weekend and got the chance to stop by to try their mango bingsoo. The ice tasted like snow that melts in your mouth! Pretty yummy :) I originally wanted to get strawberry but ordered the wrong one when I was looking at the picture on their TV. Mango's a bit tart since it's not really the right season now. I'd come back next time to try their strawberry flavor! Overall, it's a pretty chill vibe here, the decor looks cool and is super cozy. They also have outdoor seating in the back but it's kinda cold now to be sitting outside. I do see a heater so they might turn it on when it gets too cold. It seems like a popular spot so might be hard getting seats sometimes. The bingsoo is a bit pricey at around $15, good to share with a couple of friends.

Finally got a chance to visit this cafe in search for a good spot to study. First impression was that it was smaller than I expected from the photos. But still plenty of space compared to majority of cafés. The atmosphere was very clean and calming. The free Wi-Fi speed was on the average side. During the visit, ordered matcha latte and caramel macchiato. The matcha latte was surprisingly too sweet for my taste, sweetness was comparable to Starbucks green tea frap minus the ice. The macchiato was pleasantly the opposite. Their waffles looked amazing but I didn’t get a chance to try due to recent dental work. Update: came back again to try the Mango Bingsoo. It’s soooo good but sooo cold lol Another Update: came by to study and grabbed the OG Bingsoo.

Every time I pass by this quaint little cafe, my heart beats a little faster and my stomach whispers "order some waffles, order some waffles!" I know the bingsu here is the main attraction, and the other desserts here are , but I'm just really happy a dessert spot in this part of Flushing is dishing out quality waffles for the undeserving masses. Fantastically crispy texture on the outside, soft and fluffy (medium density) on the inside; it's pretty close to perfection. If you're looking for a waffle haven in a world full of croffles, mochi donuts and pastries, do your stomach the favor and order some waffles here!

The desserts (from the two I’ve tried so far) are tasty and super generous. I also like that they offer non-basic flavors. Can’t say too much about the service because it’s one of those cafes where you order and you pick up and sit down yourself, which is totally my vibe because it means I have to talk less. The one thing that doesn’t sit well with me is the loudness. The ice machine is quite loud, so the people in the place talk louder over that and, overall, it be loud. But you can fix that with some noice cancelling earphones. All good :3

Very nicely decorated place. They have the drinks to back it up too. Haven’t tried the food which seems to be shaved ice and your normal cafe stuff. Perfect place to chill while you wait for your car to be ready bathroom is available.

No kids specific seating options that I can see but they do have relatively low chairs which should be just fine for kids 3 and up (and relatively uncomfortable for taller adults). If you have a stroller you would likely have to sit at the corner tables which are limited and can still cause some inconvenience to other customers.

The bingsoo is really good here. We got the mango flavor, the mango itself it really sweet, and really good fruit. I have heard the matcha flavor is also really good. The vbie and atmosphere is really nice, a lot of people go there to study, seats are a little bit hard to find sometime, but eventually there will have empty seats. They also have outlets at some of the seats.

It's always a nice pick-me-up coming to Cafe Auburndale. Whether just for coffee drinks or their monster bingsoos or waffles/croffles, we always leave content and look forward to returning. The interior is bright, spacious, and clean, and there are plenty of seats, whether for parties of 2 or slightly larger groups. The only downside is deciding on what item or 2 to have per visit since many items are tantalizing. The typical crowd here are teens to young professionals, but that doesn't mean "older folks" aren't welcome. There are several cool cafes in this stretch of Northern Blvd, but Cafe Auburndale certainly holds its own.

  • Glen

Bingsu here is amazing, not overly sweet. Have had this several times before and always good. Friendly staff, clean. Great topping choices. Our matcha bingsu came with a scoop of excellent matcha ice cream, red bean, sliced almonds, sprinkle of sugar, and mochi. Portion is huge, and personally I like this bingsu the best in all of NY/NJ. Also had the strawberry latte, quite good as well but sweet. For me, the bingsu is the star here, a winner everytime! We look forward to this everytime we visit Flushing.

Must have driven past this place a thousand times (and never seen it) but it is definitely a hidden gem. Brightly lit. Immaculately clean. Plenty of seating with outlets at (almost) all of the tables for those who cafe study like me. The coffee was quite good, but the dessert was bomb. Pictured below is the Oreo bingsoo. The main odd thing was that there was no wifi available, which is the only con. Otherwise this place was one of the top cafes on Northern Boulevard (and yes there are a lot of them)

Very busy at 8pm on a Friday night. However customer service was good for it being so busy. And they did warn us it would take about 40 minutes to make our order. The mango bingsoo was on point, the ice was so fluffy and creamy. The lava cake was okay, it didn’t actually have the gooey chocolate from the inside it was just poured on top of a chocolate cake. The atmosphere was fun as it was very upbeat and bright. My friend and I had a good time. The space was large enough we’re we didn’t feel so cramped. I would Come back again with more people as the portions were huge!

You come for the IG worthy pictures and this place is definitely IG worthy. The architect really hit the nail on the head here. From the gold inlay on the white marble countertops the tiled wall panel. I think I love the design more then the food. But moving on to the food, the shaved ices are good. The Oreo one, mango and green tea were all good. Flaky soft shaved ice, out of the three only the green tea one came with matcha flavored shaved ice. The others were just a plain milk ice which could’ve used some more flavor? or vanilla or something not sure what.

  • Alex Tang

Love the design and environment, comfy and modern, all the furnitures, details and décor are serious and fine work, even the backyard is nicely design, a lot of efforts are put into this place. Coffee is so good, bold body and smooth, nice after taste hanging. If you are allergic to lactose, nitro cold brew is a must try, nitro boost up a foaming from coffee, give you a smooth taste as with milk foam. Is a little pricey(Manhattan price) as among with other café around the area, but is definitely worth to try because of the coffee quality and the environment~

The decor of Cafe Auburndale is artsy, bright and adorable with wooden furniture. The ambiance is cozy and relaxed. There are outdoor dining available currently. We were there for their signature shaved ice bowl and it was so great. We tried the Milk Bingsoo which was the original. The shaved ice itself was creamy, tasty and light. The red beans was braised soft and flavorful. However, there was not much ingredients in the bowl so we felt the balance between ice & ingredients was kind of off.

  • Stephen Waters

It was amazingly good! We stumbled upon it waiting for our car to be serviced nearby and it could not have been better. We had a loaded waffle and lattes and they were delicious. The place was exceptionally clean and that includes the restroom and the owners were so polite and friendly.

This cafe has a great ambiance, great if you want to study, do some work, write, etc. The backyard space is great, open space with a couple of trees and plenty of areas to beatdown. I got the latte and blueberry crumble cheesecake both really good. I tried some of the mango shaved ice, it was okay, it needed more flavor in my opinion. The chocolate lava cake was okay too, the lava was at the top not in the center if that's a deal breaker for you.

  • Sunny Jihea

I would five start being probably the best mango bingsoo i have ever had and im not even a bingsoo fan but i do see myself craving this one but i took off one start because the music was blasting! I usually go to a cafe to chat but after screaming to hear each other we decided to leave and the loud kpop was stuck in my ears all night long.

Minimalist decorated cafe that is usually packed with people working, studying, or hanging out with friends. There is ample space to do work and a good selection of drinks and sweet foods. There is also a restroom. The shaved ice options are good but don’t come with much filling. We ordered the matcha shaved ice and a grapefruit ade drink. The drink was sweet but balanced the overall tartness.

  • Julia Hsia

I came for the crepe cake after I saw the photo. It was delicious I will say, but slightly sweet for me. I had the plain one so I assume the earl gray flavor will be better. The rose tea latte I got was a little bit watery although the rose smell was good. It might because that I asked for iced but no ice in it. Would like to come back to try their waffle or bingsoo with friends next time!

Maybe good for Instagramers. It is a small cafe with some fancy interior decorations but it was not attractive to me. Everything was overpriced. Some ice creams were good, though. But that’s it. I ordered a cappuccino. It was fantastically terrible taste. Gosh, maybe all other items on the menu were good but not cappuccino! It tasted like something not coffee.

  • Ivy Li

We went last Sunday morning because we passed by Northern Blvd. It's a convenient location to us. Cozy interior. Not too much customers dine in when we visited. We ordered the Injeolmi waffle, Hawaii Latte and Golden Latte. We like the Hawaii Latte and the waffle was fluffy and delicious. It will be our Sunday cafe and we would like to try others on the menu.

  • Andre Ricarte

Very clean and big space. They even have some tables and chairs in the back, nice ambiance there too. They serve typical a variety of coffees and teas. They also serve desserts. Their specialty is the bingsu. It's a dessert made from shaved ice and various toppings. We ordered the oreo one, and it was so good! Very sweet! Great after dinner with friends!

Lovely experience at this cafe. During the weekday it is a good quiet place to study but the only downside is that there is no wifi. Had the latte, strawberry lemonade and the croffle. If you're a fan of not overly sweet desserts, then this is the dessert for you.
