So first of all ordering is difficult...the menu is actually hard to find; the link on their web page is not available. I included a photos of the take out menu. Ordering and pickup is easy... just finding parking is a bit hard though since Noriega is a busy street. When you order to go, you get the soup, but no dessert or drink. We ordered and I was able to taste most of the dishes: Beef Tongue with Mushroom sauce: overall the tongue were thick cut and pretty tender. Good flavor. The mushroom sauce was more towards brown gravy with sliced mushrooms tossed in (I found a bay leaf and a slice mushroom) so, I actually think they might make the gravy from scratch. Garlic Pork chops... I did not taste this dish, but note its breaded pork chops top with fried garlic Chicken a la King: creamy, and al dente spaghetti. The cubed chicken was tender. The only thing I did not like was the large pieces of celery. The sauce was creamy, but I think a little more pepper would be needed, but that is me. I added it and it really popped the flavor. Chicken Steak with Mushroom sauce: juicy dark meat. The chicken was really good, it tasked grilled, but I did not see any grill lines. Fillet of Sole with Mushroom Sauce: OK on menu it shows it in English as "grilled" but the Chinese has it as pan fried. Pan fried is correct. The flour needed to be seasoned, but the it did not mask the taste of the fish. The fish flavor is very mild, so that is a good thing. They did serve the mushroom sauce on the side, which is a plus so the fish did not get mushy. Thumbs up for that. Baked Pork Chop with White Sauce: this is yummy breaded pork chops on top of fried rice then covered with a creamy white sauce, topped with cheese then finished in the broiler/salamander. Its hard to mess up breaded pork chop... they did a good job with this dish. Each of the takeout meals came with steamed kernel corn broccoli. It also came with some soup. The soup is a bit salty, it taste like a tomato based (read watery catchup) with cabbage added.

Ordered the baked chicken steak with white sauce over rice (see image). Piping hot and full of cheesy, saucy goodness. The only downside was that the chicken was oversalted. (Pro-tip: they can make it with any type of sauce on top of your order even if it isn't explicitly listed on the menu.) Also tried the ox-tongue with tomato sauce and spaghetti. The ox-tongue was amazingly tender, a must-try! The sauce was very sweet and I would recommend a different choice unless you have a sweeter palette. Both orders started off with tomato soup appetizer which hit the spot and started the meal off on the right note. Ordered HK milk tea on the side. The tea is strong as expected and comes standard with sugar/artificial sweetener packets and unlimited refills. ☕ Jello was for dessert as usual but doesn't come topped with creamer anymore. Not too sweet, just right. The aunties serving us were very accommodating and kept our drinks topped off.

Kid-friendliness
The waitresses were kind enough to offer our kiddos free jello and a choice of lollipop for dessert, even though their meals did not come standard with it. Just a note for families with toddlers that they only provide no-strap booster seats (no high-chairs) so come prepared!

Cozy little restaurant with a set daily special or you can order from their regular menu. Food is good. Most of it is Chinese American comfort food. Prices are reasonable but a bit more expensive after the pandemic. It's still worth it. Soup, main course, vegetable, rice or spaghetti, choice of beverage and dessert. My favorite is their roast pork and it is available on Sunday. Other recommendations are listed elsewhere. There are so many choices to choose from.

Parking
You may have to park several blocks from the restaurant and walk. Make sure you drop your guests or your family members off first. Have them wait in line instead of finding parking space and the whole party arrives at the same time. The wait time can be long. A large party should call ahead to see if they'll accept a reservation.

This is an American restaurant Chinese style. Comfort food to the max. Their Chicken special will knock your socks off. Two big pieces of chicken plus lots of veggies and they start out with sweet bread they have unlimited milk tea and even dessert. Plenty to bring home for the next day. That was what the wife got but I got the baked Seafood. Oh my God. Big bowl full of rice covered with vegetables and Squid and scallops and shrimp and oysters or were those muscles? Smothered in cheese and baked crispy in the oven.So incredibly good. I'll bet I gain several pounds. Anyway this place is actually kind of non fancy joint but they pack them in and they really know how to provide excellent service. Also a lot of the items on the daily menu board High ticket Seafood items extraordinaire. Worth the experience check it out.

Cafe Bakery's indoor dining room reopened earlier this summer. They check both vaccine card and matching ID. I had their Sept. Tuesday special, baked seafood spaghetti $15. The specials menu rotates every month. It came with a complementary borsch soup, milk tea and jello. I didn't care for the soup or the jello. I did love the milk tea and refills. The sweet and spicy wings $11 weren't bad. It had a thick sweet sauce with dried chili peppers over the crunchy, deep fried, six pieces of drumsticks and wings. They weren't hot at all. I should have gotten their other Tuesday special instead, the pork cutlet. The other patrons mostly all ordered the cutlet. Service was excellent and I'm glad they are reopened again for indoor dining.

We got here around 1pm and it was quite busy. We got a seat right away. We got the Sat special salt baked chicken thighs and a regular menu oxtail stew. We both opted for just more veggies and trust us, the amount of meat for both dishes will fill you up alone. Oxtail stew was absolutely delicious. I will come back here just for that dish. The chicken thighs were so tender and the skin was crispy. The milk tea was bomb and it is bottomless with any special order. We are definitely coming back for more.

They serve traditional and authentic HK food here! I had ox tongue in tomato source with spaghetti noodle, which was exactly how I’d like it! Super delish and really fix my craving for HK style food! The service was very prompt, attentive and friendly! They brought my milk tea and soup within seconds and my entree was followed minutes later! The restaurant is very clean, although the decor is bit dated (but expected)!

This place is my childhood favorite. The menu hasn't really changed and they still have a pretty good variety of stuff. I usually get their baked seafood or chicken steak. You can get the meal with rice or pasta. It also comes with a bread, soup or salad, and jello. They also have daily specials that come with a coffee or milk tea. While I really like their food, service can be pretty bad. I've had to check on our orders on multiple visits. Sometimes it can be difficult to get someone. The restaurant itself is pretty big. Parking is so difficult here and it can get really crowded during peak times. I try to come later to avoid the crowds and have better parking.

it hella gud!!! been coming here since I was a tot and it's still amazing. you get so much food, huge portions. I think if you get milk tea and you want it sweetened you gotta ask for condensed milk (not 100% sure on that, but you know, try it) best thing to get is their pork chop with pepper sauce. also anything with tomato sauce is gonna be kinda sweet. the borscht soup is amazing I was so cold and it warmed me right up and it was delish.

Definitely come for their daily specials! All their food is very well portioned and plentiful. I appreciate the kind customer service and I always find this place as one of the locals spots. There is street parking available, along with metered parking closer to the restaurant. Also it is solo dining friendly when it’s not busy. It tends to be on the quieter side when it’s not busy which is perfect to enjoy a delicious meal.

My wife and I went for their Saturday special - pork chop and bake chicken. They were delicious. The pork chop was flavorful and came with gravy. Chicken was moist and tender. It came with corn and choice of rice or noodles with tomato sauce and milk tea or coffee. Huge portions. Two good size pork chops or two large chicken legs, enough for two meals. Great bargain. Good friendly service.

Really good chaa cha teng / HK cafe with yummy daily specials, great milk tea, and a relaxing community atmosphere ! It was 17.99 for the daily special which had two different choices. I got a pork chop this time. Looking forward to trying their other menu options!!

One of the few HK style cafe places remain operating in SF after 30 years of opening. There is no other similar places that can compete with their price, portion and taste of food. Not a fancy place to dine in but your tummy will not leave disappointed.

Soup (or salad) and fresh, hot buns served with entrees. We ordered the baked pork chop over tomato sauce and baked seafood. I preferred the pork chop; fried and cooked well. The sauce was fairly sweeter than expected but still tasty! Baked seafood had good mix of fresh tasting seafood (squid, mussels, shrimp, scallops)... but the béchamel was heavier than Arnold.

I’ve been coming here since I was young and the only drawback here is cash only. The food is always quick and efficient, fair prices for tasty cooking. I usually get the baked seafood over rice and it’s loaded with seafood and baked with a layer of cheese over top. We also got the baked pork chop over rice with tomato sauce and that was also good.

Not having been here in years, I've forgotten that a gem this place is. Had the baked pork chops with mushroom sauce and spaghetti. Larger portion than I expected. Way tastier than I remember. Will definitely not wait years to be back.

My mom used to take our family to dine in at this HK style Cafe in SF. Miss sipping on the milk tea and eating the fresh and hot bread w/butter to start a meal. I've always loved the baked tomato sauced pork chops or the black pepper pork chops shown here. Pork chops for the soul! Oh, I even miss the jello that came at the end of the meal!

One place you might want to consider for a Hong Kong-style lunch cafe!! It offers generous portions and decent flavors for the price. Enjoy your meal in Hong Kong! Baked ham pasta with white sauce.

Tasty filling HK style meals abound. Prices have gone up, but so has everything else. You get a lot of food for what you order. Go early as the place fills up fast. No more dinner rolls since the Café part of the restaurant closed.

Decent food, value for money kind of place. We had the Baked Chicken w. Portuguese sauce and then find it it's actually curry flavor - it's not too spicy, just didn't know the connection between the name and the item. :)

The fried chicken was fantastic, and the black pepper sauce was on point. Definitely a restaurant you must go in San Francisco.
