Cafe Milano, nestled in Montreal’s West Island, is an absolute haven for coffee enthusiasts and dessert lovers alike. I had the pleasure of exploring their delightful selection of beverages and cakes, and let me tell you, it was a five-star experience from start to finish. First and foremost, their cortado is a true revelation. With every sip, you’re transported to a world of rich, aromatic flavors that awaken your senses. The depth and smoothness of this brew are unparalleled, making it an absolute must-try for any coffee connoisseur. If you’re in the mood for something indulgent, their Mochaccino is a dream come true. This heavenly blend of espresso, steamed milk, and decadent chocolate creates a harmonious symphony of flavors that will leave you craving more. It’s the perfect balance of coffee and chocolate, making it a delightful treat for any time of day. For those warm summer days, Cafe Milano’s iced coffee is a refreshing and invigorating choice. The boldness of their coffee shines through even when chilled, delivering a cool and invigorating experience that will keep you energized and satisfied. Now, let’s talk about the cakes. Cafe Milano’s selection of delectable cakes is a true feast for the eyes and the taste buds. From the velvety chocolate creations to the light and fruity options, each slice is a work of art. The cakes are expertly crafted with a perfect balance of flavors and textures, leaving you in a state of pure bliss with every bite. The attention to detail in the presentation of the cakes is simply outstanding. Each slice is beautifully garnished and exquisitely arranged, showcasing the kitchen’s dedication to creating not only delicious desserts but also visual masterpieces. The staff at Cafe Milano is knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. They are more than happy to guide you through the menu, suggesting the perfect coffee pairing for your cake or offering recommendations based on your preferences. Cafe Milano’s commitment to quality and excellence shines through in every aspect of their coffee and cake offerings. The prices are reasonable considering the exceptional quality and the sheer indulgence of the experience. If you’re a coffee aficionado or have a sweet tooth that needs satisfying, Cafe Milano is a destination that should be on your list. Treat yourself to the divine Corrado coffee, indulge in the irresistible Mochaccino, cool down with their refreshing iced coffee, and complete your journey with a slice of their heavenly cakes. Cafe Milano is a coffee lover’s paradise, where each sip and every bite is a moment of pure bliss.

It's not a 'Cafe' vibe. It's rather big and bright and loud, cafeteria style, as you order at the cash register and then you sit down and they bring you the food. The lighting definitely could use some work. You give your name at the cash when you place the order and when they deliver the food they need to yell the names SUPER loud as the place is so loud. Like crazy loud. I like the personalization of names, but they may want to consider a number/ticket system given their size. I ordered a 7'' veal cutlet sandwich; the fixings on it were good but the veal tasted funky. I have never had a funky tasting veal in an Italian restaurant/cafe before. The bread was just ok, not like a typical awesome bread you get in typical Italian places. French fries were served with a spicy mayo. I took the cover off mine to see that it was actually used - like finished (yuck); the restaurant had obviously recycled what they thought was a full mayo. I pointed it out to the staff, but there was no sense of urgency or concern about this. I ordered a bottle of red wine - they had two choices of table wine, which was fine; I wasn't expecting an extravagant wine list but it was also out-of-the-box warm. Not the end of the world, given it's more of a coffee place but I wanted to review it nonetheless. My friend had a salad which was tossed iceberg, served in a soup bowl type deal. Looked tasty enough. She liked it. This place came highly recommended, it was busy so they have solid following, but I failed to see the value. I love me some great Montreal Italian food, given Montreal's incredible Italian community, but this is more like the fast-food of Italian. I also think smiles from staff go a long way. The staff didn't strike me as a happy team, but that is a reflection of management. Not their fault.

* While my experience at Milano was more than a 2, my overall score is for the west island as a whole. I'm in town for the long weekend, and every time i visit i make sure to stop at Milano. As a native son of Toronto, i have a very discerning taste in cuisine, i usually have to recalibrate my expectations when visiting Montreal but I've always been pleasantly surprised with this cafe. This weekend i visited milanos twice, but not for a good reason. First time Saturday i show up at the door and they're randomly closed in the middle of the day. I couldn't believe it, this is prime time for people going to cafes why on earth would you be closed? So i tried again Sunday and thankfully they were open, but get this. No pistachio croissant. Zero. None. I nearly turned around and walked out, but I had my buddy Sweet Jamees with me who i hadn't seen in 2 hours so wanted to catch up. The conversation did not disappoint, my almond croissant however... I know infrastructure is a weak point of Quebec, but this time it was off the charts. Seemed like an EMP was set off on the west island. I tried hitting up my buddy Jagwal, text him no answer, go knock on his door but seems like he expected me to show up and turned off all his lights pretending he's not home, messages me a few hours later saying sorry phone died and wasn't able to charge it. Yeah right. Blazin Q went a step further, ditched his house said he's staying at the embassy so couldn't hook up. I figured he meant Niagara falls but he was sitting pretty at the TransCanada embassy. I've never felt so unwelcomed in the west island in my life, can't envision a situation where i come back after this experience. Mark my words West Island finished

Great place to hang out and enjoy some coffee and food with friends and family. We went for a Americano and Macchiato along with a vegetarian sandwich and cannoli. All of them were good. Sandwich was minimalistic - a few veggies and cheese in a long bun. Cannoli was fine - tasted fresh. Service is peculiar (and I liked it). So you place your order at the counter along with your name. After that, you can pick any available table in the seating area. When your order is ready, the waiter(s) bring that to the seating area and shout your name and you get their attention by raising your hand or whatever. Having said that, the service was quick. The staff was good and friendly. There's a shared parking with other businesses in the plaza. Mostly available. Definitely recommended.

Absolute joke… ordered 2 sandwiches, fries and a salad for my kids, wife and I. We received 2 of the 4 beverages, after 35-40 minutes and 2 visits to the counter still no food. They are completely lost. The waitresses yell peoples names and look for them 5-10 minutes each time, so obviously it doesn’t work very smoothly. People who showed up 10-15 minutes after me where eating and I still had not received anything. Looks like they’re just doing random orders behind the counter instead of a first in first out approach… I would suggest they consider actual waiters at the table to give it a bit of structure and not miss out completely on customers. 3-4 others we’re complaining at the counter, I just asked for my money back and left. They wanted to give me food to go but didn’t want to wait another hour for a sandwich… They even made a mistake on my reimbursement but I was too annoyed to argue over 10$. I’ll stick to la trattoria in Kirkland, where you get good service and you actually get your food. Hard pass…

Great spot for Italian pastries although the service was a bit disappointing. My friend and I stood around when we arrived since the place was busy and too crowded. Had no idea if we go up to the counter to order or the waiter/waitress comes to us since we’re both visually impaired. Then we finally went up to the counter and ordered. My tiramisu and bottle water came quick, but my friend’s order, bomba and latte was forgotten. So he had to go back to the counter, showed his receipt and another lady took care of his order and it came quick. Seems like the first lady whom we placed our complete order to, was clueless about their menu and her head was in the clouds. Honestly I was going to order half a dozen cannolis to take home but I figured it was pointless dealing with their service again.

They just recently opened here in the West and I absolutely enjoyed what we ordered. We had two kinds of Italian sandwiches, Special Milano and Steak/Capicollo. We chose all dressed. It was really good though a little spicy for me so if you're like me who is not a fan of spicy food then request to go easy on the peppers or have none at all. I enjoyed both but preferred the Special Milano. But the champion was the fries and dip! It was absolutely divine! Like I have no other words to describe it. It was that good! Try it and be the judge. We had Cannoli for dessert and the sweetness was just right for me so I liked it. The Iced coffee was definitely a winner for me as well. I loved the shredded ice so it did not water down the flavor of the coffee. Price was reasonable too. Overall, the food was great! I enjoyed my experience and would definitely try the Tuna sandwich next, I heard it was also good.

Went Monday afternoon around 2pm and ordered an all dressed steak sandwich with a medium cappuccino to go. Waited about 10 minutes for the sandwich as the coffee was being made. The ordering area is separated from the dining area and traffic flows nicely. Servers were courteous and happy to serve. The sandwich was suoerb, all dressed offers spicey peppers, tomato, lettuce, and pieces of pickled melanzane along with a perfect amount of thinly sliced savoury steak. I ordered the large and it was filling. The bread is fresh and slightly toasted just enough to get that crunch on the outside. Perfect. A medium sized cappuccino was $4.50$ with tax total and it is hands down THE best in the West Island. I am definitely returning. I asked if there would be a terrasse and they replied soon. Can't wait for that.

The quality of the food and workers capability to accurately make/complete the expected dish is at times questionable. However considering it's an establishment in the "West-island" the ambience and atmosphere is unexpectedly pleasant, vibrant and alive. The food and deserts are somewhat pricey (can expect to spend around 15$ for a latte and a desert), but since you're paying for the vibe, it's bearable. I'd go again just for the vibes for sure.

Food is terrible cheap on the meat, cheap on the salad, could not even eat salad. It was drenched in balsamic vinegar. The system they have is ridiculous. My friends name was Mike. When the waiter came out yelling Mike, there was two other mikes in the restaurant, so confusion started to whose plate it was. Once we set aside our unfinished plates, because they are not edible we ordered our coffees. When the waiter brought our coffees they were disgusting, cold, and the waiter left our unfinished plates on the table until we left. Overall experience is horrible would never return there overall disgusting. $60 for two sandwiches, two small salads and two small coffees plus tip not worth the money at all

Takes advantage of their customers. The first and last time I will ever go here. I went to pick up 2 sandwiches yesterday evening and asked for extra steak and capicollo. This restaurant charged me 25$ for extra toppings.meanwhile one sandwich is $13… I quickly realized this was an ungodly amount of money to spend on extra meat and asked if I could remove this extra from my order. The man serving me replied saying it was too late (meanwhile it was 2 minutes after making the order)… I didn’t want to cause problems so I left it at that, but I will definitely be giving negative reviews. This restaurant takes advance of their customers, what a rip off. Never going back.

Finally a place on the West Island where you can go at any time of day for a light meal or a coffee. This place opens till 1:00am, and allows people to gather and eat or drink, with seating inside and a terrace outside. Great crispy chicken or sausage sandwiches (all-dressed), as well as delicious croissants & desserts. The coffees are fantastic and prices are readonable. Located in a mall on Brunswick, there's lots of free parking. Truly a West Island treasure.

Always a great spot to sit and enjoy a coffee, food, a treat... with friends or alone. The staff is always polite, quick, and happy to help. The place is clean and modern and the vibe is noisy yet comfortable. You will place your order at the counter, grab a table and then someone will tell out your name and bring you your drinks/food. This place is open til the morning hours, so a great place to stop by then, too.

Loved the Nutella cigar and the coffee! The veggie sandwich needs to be revisited though. It was kind of dry, needs sauce and cheese and the eggplant was still chewie. The service was good but to yell the clients name's each time a meal is ready feels tacky to me (or maybe I'm more of a numbers person). The lovely high ceilings highlight a nice urban friendly vibe.

I got a chicken sandwich and it was ok. I love trying Italian sandwiches and going to different Italian cafes but I have to say this was the worst one I’ve had out of all the ones I’ve tried, especially for the price, it could’ve been bigger and better quality. The ambiance was ok but my table was a little sticky. I got an iced coffee and it’s not what you expect an iced coffee to taste like… overall wouldn’t recommend but the fries were good and staff were nice.

Open super late which is a godsend in the west island. Service, drinks and food have always been great. The atmosphere is pretty good also, it gets pretty chaotic but it's always clean and the service is quick so everyone seems to be happy. In the summer the terrace is pretty good too.

We were looking forward to the West Island branch finally opening & we were surely amazed! We got the capicollo and milano sandwiches, fries, cannoli and iced coffee. Everything was fresh, tasty & generously served. We had to get a second helping of the fries because they were so good! The service was friendly and extremely quick, and the place is clean & well-kept. The prices are also very fair for the quality of food you are being served. I can’t wait to try their other coffee offerings! We’ll definitely be back! Thank you! :)

Was really disappointed with the service yesterday. I won’t say that they were rude, but they were most definitely not happy to take our order. We said hello, didn’t even get one back. Then, we were absolutely stunned by the iced coffee... We were expecting a small, not a mini at the price. I’m not leaving this review to stir people away from the cafe but hopefully so these things are addressed. A hello would be nice.

This was my second time to cafe Milano in the WI. First visit, was for lunch, and this time was for breakfast. Both visits the place was welcoming, clean, and food and cafe offerings were delightful. I have to give a special shout out to Johnny G, last visit, I lost my cell phone. When, I returned back to look for it, he was kind enough, to call my cell phone, and helped me find my phone, which, I had dropped outside in the parking lot. Will certainly be back!

The coffee is good, the place is big with outdoor seating in the summer, and that's what I liked it. What I didn't like: They had a selection of gelato, a few pastries and one kind of biscotti but not a great variety to go with the coffee. I expected more desserts. The noise level is very high due to high ceilings. They only take debit or cash. You first order at the counter then they bring your order by yelling out your name to look for you. All in all, It's a good place to meet friends.

  • Pre K

All the desserts from here are good! They have the best cannolis, with a generous amount of filling and it’s fresh. Zeppole are light & soft, generous with filling too! The jumbo chocolate chip cookie is good but sweet! Highly recommend checking this place out for the cannolis.

Went in for drinks, got charged twice without knowing until I checked my VISA statement. Called in, tell them situation, they say they will refund me. I step into milanos, explaining situation to a person working on a cash and tell him what happened including the fact I called in beforehand and show him my visa statement. I wait for 15 to 20 min and then he talks to someone and then refunds me. What a hassle. It gets a 1 star because of the hassle and time wasted on this.

  • Ryan Edrissi

I love this place. Staff are super friendly. Free wifi and all the goods are here. I'm not the biggest fan of the selection of drinks (although i may just be picky). However, I cannot give anything less than 5 stars due to 1 reason: this place has some of the best hours of any studying place. It stays open for so long it's a hidden gem in today's day and age where everything closes at 9 or 10 pm.

They need to hire a new barista, I ordered a cortado and what I got was an over extracted bitter espresso! I had to add sugar to make it palatable. Stick with the sugary coffee drinks here, not the place for coffee lovers. It’s not that hard to dial in an espresso shot at the start of a shift.

Beautiful location, I can’t wait to go back and eat there in person. This was takeout and was super easy to place an order. Had the Milano sand-which which was very flavorful and quite spicy. The onion rings were very tasty and so were the Mac n cheese bites , just missing a little salt. The weakest part was the bread for me but perhaps it’s better super fresh. Glad they are finally open and will gladly go back!

  • Alina Reynbakh

It’s a nice place and the staff is friendly. The 4* is because it was very noisy there and overcrowded. But maybe it was because of the Sunday. The food is good. I ordered a small plate of grilled chicken salad and the portion was HUGE! I took about half of it for to go. The coffee was good. The Ferrero roche cake was delicious but too sweet to my taste. Although it was really good with coffee.

  • Chris P

Had 2 large chicken salads. 1 short double espresso. And 1 can of diet Pepsi. I've been going to the original on Jarry since 1998. The chicken salad at this Pointe Claire location was delicious...just as good as I expected, in fact it was less dry. Service was friendly and courteous. Good addition to the WI community.

✨ The perfect slice of Italian-Montreal culture is found at Café Milano West Island! The coffee is on point, and it truly captures the essence of both worlds. BEST service, cortados and according to my 8 year old lemon gelato! We love coming here. The vibe is great, the servers/cashiers etc all sweet & charismatic! Love them. We ordered two deserts and coffee. Deserts were frozen with ice inside. Coffee is bitter and impossible to drink. Don’t recommend.

Lobster tail was more crispy than flaky which wasn't what I expected. Mochaccino was nice and maybe a little too sweet. Nutella bomba was delicious, plenty of filling.

Good coffee, Good desert. I've had better. Ambiance is cold, and bland, it needs some art on the walls or painted walls or mirrors etc . Prices are high for what you get. That being said, the cashier was polite and professional; service with a smile...5 …

Omg what the heck, it’s so good. Whatever this is it’s super fresh and delicious I went back in and bought a second one with Nutella. Coffee is delicious too. I don’t even drink coffee and I’m impressed

Always packed and noisy Sometimes the pastries are not fresh The oat milk they use for their coffee is too sweet and watery. Last time I came they got my order wrong and no efforts were made to correct it. Their salads and sandwiches can get better

  • Kyle Rougeau

Food is decent, however, their customer service sucks. As I have never ordered food before from here, I had some questions. They treated me like they couldn't be bothered and were more concerned with getting back to their conversation... :( More

The coffee and food are delicious (the cannolis and zeppoles are SO good) and the staff is friendly. I've never had a bad experience here. I really appreciate that they stay open late and that they play sports too. :)

I ordered the steak 7" sandwich "where's the STEAK SO CHEAP !! Nothing like the original Milanos on jarry !!! They fill it not cheap like the west island not surprised most restaurants in the west skimp on quantity they don't get it !!

  • Mustapha M

Game changer in the west island. Definitely the best coffee around and best staff. Worth the detour in the morning instead of having some soap water from Tim Hortons or Starbucks.

Great sandwiches, good service. Although they should use the number system because calling the client's name out for the order just adds to the noise level. Prices are competitive.

Great little cafe. The cannolis are phenomenal. Very friendly guy at the cash. Would choose to go there with friends over the popular commercial chain cafes any day !! More

Excellent service and delicious food. I tried the chicken sandwich and the fries. They were just perfect. Their coffee tastes also amazing. Will definitely come back!

  • Sandrine Campeau

25 minutes for a take out café late is ridiculous. Staff spending more time talking than pulling shots. If you are busy, have more than one employee on the machine!

The coffee and ambiance was great, try their pastries and cakes. It was delicious. It gets crowded sometimes, but people generally have enough place to sit. More
