Beef Varatthi and Aapam, Puttu and Kadala Curry

Being a malayali I went 2 times .ordered beef n prawns first time. First of all bill was around 470 and prawns was just red chilly marinated and handful of onions. No taste at all. And beef was not fresh it was from previous day and simply we can feel tht coz you are a malayali. Also the guy who was delivering the food was like he s gvng us the food for free. He was kind of rude n no smile at all.he had beared And he was collecting the bill amount. Dnt knw he ws the owner or not. Still I thought everyone has a bad day. So I went another day morning and ordered our traditional puttu and kadala. Be honest kadala curry quantity was very less but it was tasty n delicious. Puttu had 1gram or 2 gram coconut athum meleyum yhazeyum. Peera enniyal 10 allenkil 15 Peera kaanum. And nothing else. Be honest first time I am reviewing one food from restaurant and I only knw how sad i felt when I was eating puttu . Later I saw the price of tht puttu 45rs fr piece of rice powder i felt crazy and speechless. Plz to the owner my kind request 60 or 70 percent people will be malayalies tht cmng to your hotel. Tk the amount as you wish bcz nobody will complain. Coz they will be missing their home food here. But please serve our traditional taste n quality. Soree i felt bad writing this.

I don't know how these people have so many ratings. These guys are so arrogant because they know they will get business regardless if they provide a good or bad experience. The Sadhya was below average but that was okay. The worst part is i ordered around 1500/- worth of Palada and they literally just gave a regular paysam with ada in it. It was like water, i wanted my kannadiga friends to try Palada but the whole experience was ruined for them. We approached them and these were the exact words "this is how we make Palada and nobody has complained" when this Palada was ordered for 10+ people who were dissatisfied. And i know that this is their excuse because they said the same thing when the Appam didn't have salt in it. Please don't visit this place if you have some self respect.

If you guys don't know how to prepare food please stop running the business rather than fooling people. Months back I have ordered 2 varieties of chicken and Biriyani, the food was pathetic and I complaint in Swiggy and got some refund amount. During this lockdown, Since I am unable to get meat in the market, so orders beef from this hotel again because there was no other option. Again the story is same, beef was not cooked properly and all the meat seems decayed. I would like tell one point to Calicut Restaurant Owner : Pani ariyillel verae valla panikkum podo...

I regularly dine in this place for Kerala food. I try to have fish dishes during lunch whenever I visited this place. The service is so quick that you don't feel that you have waited to have lunch for long time. I had food in service hall and outside but there is not much difference. One place to visit for typical Kerala food. It is present at the dead end of the road from M S Ramaiah college. It is very difficult to notice Unless you're close to the restaurant.

Good for breakfast food. Malabar style curries are the highlight. Conventional dosais and roasts are also available. Enjoy the food at a better ambience. The wall of the restaurant is painted with the history of Calicut, the place in Kerala by which the restaurant itself is named after. The restaurant has an open kitchen, you are always welcome to watch your order being cooked. Various Kerala style lunch is also available with chicken and fish biriyani on the menu. Fish fry meals is also available.

We can get Kerala food with affordable rate.. they have many varieties of non veg foods.. the also provide good tea.. but the problem is with parking.. use two wheeler insted of car

The place serves reasonably good kerala food. I have tried Appam, kerala porota and putt along with beef varattiyath and prawns masala. Prawns masala was too spicy and beef was not exceptionally tastey but altogether they gave an okayish experience. The ambience there is of a small eatery and it's not a place where you can have a formal date or something but you can visit the place for food. It worth going there and trying out the kerala food there.

I would never recommend anyone to go and have food from here.. they served putt and kadala for us which is very worse in condition.. i mentioned this to the guy who stand in the counter and his response was too impolite.. maybe they might given some good food in the past but this is what I get from here.. DON'T TAKE RISK of your money and health I'll say..

Bad experience. Rude and unclean. Received very bad sadhya and ruined onam for us. Also worst ever palada payasam. It's just milk and ada. Nothing more. And after complaining they were rude and never addressed the issue. They know as it is a college area anyway there will be business. So whatever bad food they sell they never address criticisms maturely.

The place is one of my favourite places ! Beef items are best there.. All the Indian bread items are awesome there at reasonable price.. For this price they providing superb quality foods

Food is fine (3-3.5), but what we didn't like is service. My advice to you if you want a better experience here is: 1. Never look at the menu, ask what is available first...that way you won't be disappointed. 2. Quantity is very less, so be prepared plan your portion even before you order.

Got a live worm in the sambaar that came with omelette pothichoru. Their cooking area is filthy, I hope they shut this restaurant down, its a health hazard.

The last time we went there it was a disappointment. This time it was different! The biriyani was simply amazing. The chicken lolipop was great and appams were good too. Even the lime juice and lime tea was extra good. I'll definitely be coming back here.

It's very good. Normal Kerala style foods with awesome taste. One issue with the place is, the network connectivity inside the restaurant is so poor; it's almost zero for internet of bsnl and jio.

Very pricey and food is worst. They don’t keep clean. The plates they given us was not washed properly. No cleanliness and not maintanted hotel.

Best Kerala cuisine. I tried mint juice and fried beef. I loved the taste and cooking style. As per my experience it was a bit expensive.

Foos is fresh, tasty and less spicy. Only issue is parking. Go in motorcyle if possible.
