The security that are working at this establishment are very unprofessional and aggressive. They informed me that I couldn’t enter the property as I was on my own. I asked the question why they would refuse a person who was alone as not all people are in a group or with others and might just enjoy either socialising alone or be in town on business and not have anyone to accompany them. I was then informed that it’s just the companies policy and procedure while still being aggressive and abrupt towards me. When requesting to speak with a manager i was greeted by a gentleman who was also very abrupt towards myself. I asked him why they would isolate and prevent anyone from enjoying the establishment whom was alone as not all people travel in groups of more than 2 I was told again it’s company policy! I offered to show both the “so called manager and aggressive security” whom I was to assure them that I wasn’t going to cause any kind of trouble or some sort of thug I just wanted to enjoy a few quiet drinks before heading home got the night. I requested the names of both the “so called manager and security” so that I could inform the management of my experience and I was again greeted with aggressiveness. I would highly recommend and suggest that if visiting this establishment that you are not a male alone as you will be greeted with the same kind of experience. Management please review the conduct of your employees as they are not going to help your business or reputation.
Security are very unprofessional and rude. My boyfriend got taken out due to a confrontation but was dragged out in a chokehold. After tapping the bouncer 6 times to inform him he couldn’t breathe he continued to drag him down the stairs with his arm around his neck. My partner was not aggressive nor uncooperative towards the bouncer so I think this use of force was very unnecessary! When we left the bar the security on the door then continued to mock us and be rude. When asked for the badge number and names they refused and laughed! I think this is very unprofessional and the bar needs to consider looking at the company they are employing their staff from! Security is there to protect people not cause harm.
If I could give 0 stars I would, security are extremely drunk on power and very discriminatory. Despite being victims of swilling (throwing drinks) by some random people and having an aggressive confrontation, my friends and I were flagged as a “problem” because we were minorities. Security lack balls to say anything except call us “cunts” and such behind our backs after refusing us re-entry (and not the white friends). Short man syndrome is very loud, I’ll warn any minorities to avoid this place as problems are not resolved in our interest.
Great atmosphere, 2 floors for everyone, FREE ENTRY EVERY DAY bar. They play great music hiphop, drum n base to dance the night away and always come out with a smile, the TIKI BAR upstairs is very unique and different a must try for you ladies because it plays funk jazzy and soul shaking indie pop. Downstairs is my favourite, all the staff are awesome and the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. GUARANTEED TO HAVE A MEMORABLE NIGHT EVERY NIGHT I recommend you try it out for yourself!!
Came here for a night out after about 4 years and it was incredible. The place is small but not cramped, the music in both the downstairs area and Tiki Bar was really good. Drinks were somewhat pricey but the interactions with bar staff made it worth it. The bartender in particular who was making my drinks was VERY knowledgeable about their line of work and what they do and I had many interesting conversations with them. Would 100% go again.
I had a tremendous night of fun last night in the 'Socai". Happily for me the door staff really look out for their customers. I had spent 350 quid on drinks for the whole bar and was about to go again when a assertive and direct doorman intervened,, threw me out, and prevented me spending another 350 quid .it's admirable that they put personal budgeting above financial gain. Martin Lewis would be proud.
Bouncers to this bar and others used excessive force for absolutely no reason to expel a group of 5 sober guys. After approaching them in a candid manner, in order to speak to the manager, they were greeted with a vicious assault to which led to a formal police report. Until Call Lane stops employing brutish thugs on the door, i would highly recommend any forward-thinking person to avoid this area.
Usually, the bar is so busy that the staff don't really have time to serve and take orders at the same time, understandably! But we were waiting to be served and Levi was halfway through pouring someone else's drink and still went out of his way to serve us too. We may be tipsy but we appreciated how he visibly went out of his way to serve us! Great staff member, so friendly :)
Don't bother at the moment if you don't have a booking. No staff on the door so we walked in, were aggressively told to leave the place and join the queue to get in. When we got to the front of the queue we were told it was bookings only, surely the person who asked us to leave initially could have told us that and we wouldn't have wasted time in the queue.
Trendy bar downstairs. Tiki and lethal cocktails upstairs. I've always enjoyed coming here on the Call Lane grand tour. Well worth getting a drink in downstairs if you can handle it being a little crowded. A similar situation can be expected upstairs but the cocktails are great and always worth grabbing one if you want to get really hammered for the night.
Ryan on the downstairs bar was absolutely lovely to me and my friend on Wednesday night. Originally we had gone upstairs but the card machine had broken so we came back down, and he treated us with the upmost respect and was so sweet to us,and made us really enjoy the environment, even gave us a little treat, absolute credit to him, really lovely chap xx
The doormen were discriminative with threatening behaviour against me and my friends there was only 3 of us (males), they wouldn't let us in because it had to be a mixed group, but then 3-4 women walked straight in, I asked why can they go and not us and all I got was walk away or I'll punch you square in the face. Definitely won't be coming there again.
they have a photobooth and its usually busy, good atmosphere, can be abit cramped and not likely to get a table

would probably be abit tight to get around and no lift to get upstairs but could stay downstairs there is a bar at both
Quite possibly the worst service I have ever received in any form of bar! Lady made an honest mistake and used rum instead of brandy. When I asked if the drinks could be changed I was greeted with a bad temper. The 2 drinks I had paid for (£24.00) were thrown away and I was told I wouldn’t be getting a new one! Terrible…
Really cool wee pub with some good cheesy music and a brilliant atmosphere. Bar staff are cool too and very fast at serving. Slightly annoying that the music vibe switches massively between 80s, 90s, dance, rap etc with zero mixing between. Hard to settle into a nice rhythm and vibe when you don't know what's coming next
Heard there was a Tiki bar upstairs, thought there would be some good holiday vibes up there but the music didn't seem to match the décor. We were there for about half an hour, don't know what was being played but it was more "Twist and shout" than anything kinda with a summer vibe to it. Bit of a disappointment.
Haven't been for a while and normally OK, but seriously sort your doormen out. Just attempted to go in with my wife at 9 so not busy, turned us down flat and blatantly said no reason. What era are we living in, thought doormen were professional people these days, obviously not here. Call Lane Antisocial?
It's an absolute dump. The floors were stickier than heaven and hells from 20 years ago and that place was revolting. Call Lane Social used to be cooler than this, now it just feels like it's lost its way but then most of the calls also feels like this. Go to Sella bar and Wax instead.
The playlists. The drinks. The themes. The staff. Free entry, never a fuss. Don't go anywhere else on Call Lane, ye gods, but make a beeline here, then when you're done cover your eyes and run away so you don't have to look at the other hideous offerings the Lane has to offer.
Most definitely one of the best late night bars in the Call Lane district. Decent music, friendly and attentive staff. Two different bars in two floors with different decorations and music. A place with a very diverse crowd of people (ages, background etc.). Simply fantastic!
Always an amazing night out here. About a week ago I was here with friends and I lost a scarf. The wonderful staff found it the next morning when they were tidying up. Great team who look after you.

What an absolute dump. It's a shame that this place is in Leeds. Leeds has a great nightlife, but this is not the place to go. I was shocked to see an actual cockroach under the table to make one point. Please visit somewhere else, Leeds' real nightlife is elsewhere.
The worst pina colada i have ever had! The bar staff dont care, tastless slush, blobbed into a pineapple. Took it back and the bar person stuck a staw in it, tasted it and said, thats fine. Has it been taken over recently? Not the fun place it was a year ago.
Girl upstairs in the red cap needs to learn how to handle her drink, work in hospo and watching a bartender struggle to open a beer bottle is embarrassing. Fair enough enjoy your shift but this bird struggled to walk nevermind make a half decent drink …
Cramped bar that doesn't really break out of the generic "late night bar" vibe and blasts music as loud as a club. Nothing inherently wrong with the place, but nor is it particularly special. The tiki hideaway above it is the real gem.
Female bouncer on 18/03/2023 was very rude, she was abusive and aggressive with no reason. Other bouncer seemed embarrassed and apologetic for her. May need to consider some de-escalation training to deal with her obvious anger issues.
The tiki bar up stairs is great. It plays music you dont often hear. It is an excellent venue. The cocktail are pricey but worth it and they taste great. The staff are friendly and entertaining when mixing the cocktails.
i expected better, the music was disgusting i won’t lie, like every 1 in 4 songs everyone would sit up and dance lol, fire ur DJ because that was appalling i won’t ever lie://// anyway other than that mediocre
Absolutely horrible. Shoulder to shoulder with people and not able to get to the bar for ages. Fight broke out but bouncers not able to get to the scene because there are so many people. Really rude staff too
It's expensive and a bit of a trendy type bar. The tiki bar upstairs is a good laugh but you get the feeling downstairs takes itself a bit too seriously. Over £4 for a bottle of beer I felt was too steep
Amazing night usually; however the door men are rude and aggressive. Being thrown into the pathway of a bus is not what I expect on a Sunday evening, thankfully the bus stopped. Absolutely appalling.
Overcrowded and no matter how long you stand in the middle of the bar you get ignored as it seems bar staff are only capable of serving their allocated side of the bar. Useless. Will not come again.
Security guard Craig and the other members of staff I spoke to were so helpful, they really care about the safety of those in the bar. I can’t thank Craig enough for all of his help and support.
Very slow service. Took us forty-five minutes to get served, and the waiting staff don't seem to know what's going on very much. There are much better places on call lane with good service.
A great little place that I wish I'd known about and visited sooner. Friendly staff that take the time to understand what you like and want to drink. Looking forward to my next visit.
I wasn't here for too long, but the music is as good. The place was kind of dead, but that might be because all of the students have gone home for holidays. I would come back again.
Fun place to go towards the end of a night out. Have a decent indie bar downstairs and a Mediterranean cocktail bar upstairs which has explosive cocktails as their party piece!
Unfortunately the place does not accept anyone of colour. Openly dismissed anyone lf you are not white. Very racist through and through. They emoloyee people who accept racism.
Upstairs, the Tikki bar is amazing, zombies are great fun cocktails, and the ambience fantastic - not a big fan of downstairs, but go up stairs, discover the secret ;-)
Miley and Blink were so friendly and welcoming. Listened to my cocktail favourite flavours and suggested really good cocktails which I loved. Thank you x

Great Eclectic place. A well stocked bar downstairs (they even had Bruichladdich whisky!) And a tiki bar and dancefloor upstairs. Open until 4am.
A really nice bar with an addictive game when buying your drinks! (Hope you're feeling lucky!). Really relaxed atmosphere and good cocktails.
Great atmosphere on a Saturday night but can get very cramped. Often quiet through the week so nice to go to for a few drinks with friends.
Love this place. One of my favourite bars in Leeds. They do a great Negroni cocktail and love the Tikki Bar theme upstairs. Great fun. More
Great place. Friendly place. Awesome vibe and decor and drinks. Enjoyed the music and atmosphere. Will defo be coming back with the girls!

I've been here for a few work nights out and has great music, drinks and atmosphere. I would recommend it for a nice place to socialise.
Upstairs Tiki bar......what can I say...the music mix is random but fun. Love this place for a party and the staff are great also.
I'm always too drunk by the time I get here and can never remember it, I keep going back so it must be great and worth 5 stars
AVOID!! Don’t go here, people that attend this place steal your stuff and the staff couldn’t care less or do anything to help
3 bottles of peroni on the bar, while I danced with friends, turned around all 3 gone, staff member discarded my complaint.
Lots of drinking, lots of dancing.

The bartender Blake was amazing. So friendly and welcoming. Probably the best bar experience I’ve had in Leeds.
Decent place, don't forget to check out the tiki bar upstairs, order a flaming zombie and stand back …
The Tiki Bar upstairs is worth a visit for their rum selection and cocktails, it gets very busy at weekends
Came here for drinks after lockdown 1. Was brilliant atmosphere given the circumstances. Amazing music!!!
Security on the door really respectful and helpful, bar perfect ... We had a really nice night out …
Always a must any night of the week. The Tiki hideaway is a testament to tucked away bars in the city.
Brilliant atmosphere, great music playing on both floors. Upstairs area much bigger than you think
Amazing bar, and always love seeing everyone who works there! Can't fault anything with the place
It's good, I like it, but only the space downstairs was too small for a party.
The place to be on a Friday night

One of our favourite bars in Leeds. Great music. Upstairs a hidden gem.
This place is brilliant, and lex is a star! Would absolutely go again
Fantastic bar with a great selection of drinks and friendly staff.
Really cute bar the music slaps and the seating upstairs is cozy
So much fun and great music all round and amazing night out
manager was really rude to his staff, wouldn’t recommend
Amazing music, good drinks and very friendly bar staff
Nice club and has respectful staff. Had a good time.
not my sort of place, to expensive for pints.
Nice bar, good music, bit crowded but was fun
Great place, good music and lovely staff.
Great place to go and have a good time
Good staff and a decent atmosphere.
Great music, reasonably priced
Good music, always busy!
