A horrible experience overall, I bought a $500 gaming chair from this location, and after assembling I noticed a significant depression/crater in the leather on the top left shoulder (pictures of both sides attached for comparison), and the spring mechanism for the recliner would not push the chair back upright with out support. Returned it to the store the next day and I was completely refused the refund, and was only offered store credit because they did not deem it as 'defective'. The manager there, Will, was extremely rude and insulting. -The defect in the leather was brushed of as a 'blemish' caused by packaging and delivery. Not sure how that makes it okay, but apparently that's my problem not his. -Regarding the spring mechanism it was 'totally fine' even though it was clear that it wasn't ; however it appeared as though his opinion is more important than the user who's sitting in the thing 7 hours a day. Completely ridiculous. Horrible experience. ***UPDATE*** After contacting head office and managing to escalate this to the district manager, I was asked to take the chair to a different location and recieved a full refund. While I am thankful for the service, it unfortunately does not change the fact that I had to spend ~4hrs of my time between trips, phone calls, and a very unpleasant discussion with a rude manager, to get a refund which should have been accepted on the spot.

I called Canada Computers because I’ve been having issues with my laptop (our little guy stepped on the laptop while it was closed and it’s been since giving me issues with the screen) I spoke to Jacob in service and repair to explain the situation. He tried to diagnose the problem best he could without actually having the laptop in front of him so after going over a few things he told me to bring it in. I was honestly expecting him to give me a line saying I would have to leave it there and it would take a few days to diagnose and some sort of charge would be associated…but honestly I was pleasantly surprised! He started to take a look at the laptop right away and took it apart to assess the problem. He looked at the main issues and couldn’t find any issues he tried to cause the issues by moving the screen in all directions. The laptop wouldn’t flicker. He then gave me 3 things to watch for to see if the problem happens again. After putting the laptop back together he told me if the problem persists just to take a video of it. Honestly I was expecting a story of how I would have to leave the laptop there and I was expecting a charge. Instead I got amazing world class cx service and will go to Canada Computers for any future service/purchases. Thank you Jake and thank you Canada Computers.

Store was clean and organized, however the customer service was terrible. I wish I could say my bad experience was a 1 time occurrence, but sadly it isn't. Today, a sales Rep was quite condescending over my choice of product for purchase. He ended our interaction by telling me the unit I was purchasing was likely to blow up after 10 minutes anyway, and walked away. Previously I had gone in to pick up some newly released components. The website listed them in stock at this location. When I got there, I was informed that the in store technician had just set those parts aside, not to purchase, but to build an in store demo unit with. I was given an option to have the store order another set to the stores location and I could come purchase them in a couple days. My reply was to sell me what was in stock and order in the replacement parts for the store demo. This wasn't an option for the staff however as the technician wanted to start the build the same day. Sales of product and customer satisfaction was less important than a staff member writing off the product as "used/open box" so he could play for a day. I have never felt like I was an inconvenience while in a store as a customer before shopping at this store. This will be my last visit

I had a wonderful experience here. The employee JJ had spent a lot of time with me discussing my first ever customized gaming rig. We went over a custom build and even a prebuilt build. Both were great, the custom one was a bit out of reach at the moment and being my first rig, I chose the prebuilt. This thing is a beast and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my time on it when I am not working. The first one we chose turned out to be a lemon and I quote one of the very helpful technicians that installed my 32 gbs of ram for me. It was a blessing that they did that for me or I would have not known the first one was bad. They swiftly got me a new one, installed the ram and verified the machine was working properly. Aside from that I had a great time being there and being surrounded by the wonderful staff who went through great lengths to assist me. I would highly recommend them and look forward to my future rig with them! Thanks so much to JJ and the two technicians that helped me! I appreciate it greatly.

I recently popped into the store because I wanted to upgrade the GPU in my custom computer. I'm not sure what type of training the sales staff receive, but two of them assured me I would not need to upgrade my power supply if I opted for a 1070ti. I got a completely different story from the tech/installation guy who said if I didn't upgrade the PS I would be dangerously overloading it. He suggested dialing down the voltage on my system, a service the store was not willing to perform. They were not even willing to update the drivers and make sure the new set up worked at all. So, after spending a grand on a new Asus Card, I ended up getting a refund for it in the space of 5 minutes and leaving the joint. I think if you need a mouse pad or something this is the place to go. However, an independent computer store or a home based repair guy is probably a much better bet for service.

This Canada computer store has a great customer service members, Andrew the manager, was extremely knowledgeable and approachable. He was extremely attentive and supportive while I explained to him the issue I had with my PC, with the resent power outages in Ontario. He was able to do a quick test for me for a second pair of eyes (Tech)verification, this proved critical and instead of needing a whole new system costing thousands of dollars it turnout to be a bad 1st slot memory problem. solved via ($80). Shout out to the Awesome tech Jack working here as well, we spoke in length about AM4 or AM5 platforms pros and cons. This was an eye opening conversation allowing me to make a better decision moving forwards a new system in the future. In short this is the best Canada Computer in Ottawa, if you want to be tacking care of this is where you go.

The guys at the service department are amazing. I bought my laptop at Best Buy a year ago, and accidentally dropped it going down a flight of stairs. The outer shell was cracked but it turned on and the screen was fine. I wanted to get the inside checked out and make sure there was no internal damage. Best Buy did not honour my 2 year warranty and wouldn’t even look at my computer. I called Canada Computers Merivale location and there was a two week wait time. I called this location and the staff were extremely helpful, kind and knowledgeable. They helped me diagnose any critical failures over the phone and told me to bring my laptop in and they would look at the inside. Luckily the damage was cosmetic and did not require any repairs. These young gentleman helped me when no one else would. I would highly recommend this store.

Ordered a new laptop for pickup from Canada Computers Kanata. It was on a great sale and had a coupon. An hour later I get a call from Canada Computers. John from there states there was an inventory issue and the new computer was no longer available. They had a floor model only. I then inquired if I could get that for the open box price or the same laptop. As I work in IT a demo laptop will be in worst condition then an open box one. However John stated it was CC policy not to changes prices on discounted items. Companies like this should not be allowed to get away with bate an switches like this. It is 2022 the inventory system should not have issues like this. Very disappointed will post this to all my social media accounts and Reddit. Letting people know to avoid Canada Computer and their anti consumer tactics and polices.

  • Jon Moore

I've been a long time client of Canada Computers, and while I find their prices decent and their choice of inventory fairly extensive, all their stores (in Ottawa at least) seem to suffer from the same sort of complete sort of disregard for customer service, and this one is no exception. Other reviews for this location seem to echo this sentiment, where you can spend 15+ minutes pacing the unmarked aisles (why not add some signage describing what's in each?) clearly in need of service, yet being walked past or ignored by any of their employees - even when I'm often the only person in the store. They should have someone at head office employed to ensure their retail sales and service staff are held to higher standards - although tbh, staff should be taking this initiative on their own.

Very bad and negative experience: the minute you are under their knives, there is no mercy on you. I had Brought my Dell laptop to repair one henge ( I supplied them with the parts) and a broken screen. They had told me it will cost $270 the screen + labour ( it’s between 100-140 at the most on eBay), I opted out, still they went on replacing the bottom ( henge) and charged me with over $150, not including the screen, despite I supplied the parts . If I was to accept Their entire prices I probably would have paid $500-600, tax incl. you can buy a brand new / good laptop with this amount. Be very specific with these guys, they are very slick and quick and sound “very professionals”… they are not! Will never ever go back to that place

  • Katrina Metcalfe

I have been here many times in the past years and got some bad service. Took a chance, was super excited to ask about a new PC I had came across. Today was probably the WORST service I have received from any business, period. Not only were they rude, they almost belittled me for asking a simple question about a PC build on their site that doesn’t state much info. It was the manager himself who was the most rude one!! Also some girl on the computer. (Newbie guy with glasses was nice and helpful. Doing his best in a rude and obnoxious environment.) Hope you guys can learn some basic social skills in Selling 101 someday. Never will be shopping here again. Go elsewhere or online folks. ✌ Good luck!

  • Heansi hanseller

I would like to thank the store members for great service that I received. I went yesterday for memory and SSD upgrade for my DELL Bejamin was a great help to picking the right memory. The Hardware Technical support expert there was an amazing help providing a techinical comparision between different SSDs in store. I did the right choice based on his advice to get the Samsung SSD. I left my laptop at 1:30PM. They guys were so fast to call me at 6:00PM to inform me both the installation and the Hardrive Coloning are done and my laptop is ready for pick up. Those guys know the meaning "The time value of Money" ... Thank you so much gentlemen and keep up the great work.

  • Kenneth Logan

went there to get a replacement hard drive for my sons computer. i was trying to decide between a sata ssd or a nvme ssd. the lady there didnt even attempt to explain the difference(which google says is a big difference in speeds.) she just showed me a 200.00 ssd 1tb. I would have prefered to support businesses in my area but they were useles. needless to say google filled me in and I ended up getting him a WD black nvme 1tb for 150. that and it taked about 20 mins before you can get someone to helop you. they are always grouped near the entry desk fooling around. Terrilble location and will not be back. won't be upset when businesses like this go under.

I want to give a shoutout to the team that helped me update my computer with a new PSU and case. When I dropped off my old PC, Karmine was super helpful in that he patiently explained to me the various product options. The technician, Donovan, talked to me about the migration and installation process. I was pleasantly surprised when I got a call that my computer was ready before schedule. When I picked it up, the new PC was nicely packed into a box for easy transport, all the accessories are also put into a box and they even explained to me what they're all used for. A truely comprehensive and 5 star service. Thank you!

  • Paul Kouri

I went yesterday to troubleshoot an issue I was having, but ended up upgrading my whole build. The cashier Gabriel was very knowledgeable and diagnosed my issue within 20 mins and then recommended what I should upgrade. I got a great deal on some of the parts and Benjamin was able to locate them with ease and to my surprise, they finished my whole build within 4 hours! Although I don't know who actually assembled it, they took the liberty of replacing my fans absolutely free of charge! I'm definitely returning here in the future as well as recommending all my friends to go here for their computer needs. 10/10

  • Rob J

Wanted to order the parts to try my first home build for a gaming computer but no one answers the phone here. Also tried to log in and order all the parts online, taking advantage of the boxing week sale... there has yet to be a response to the online ticket I submitted though. It wouldn't allow the parts to be purchased together (some required in person pick up and some would have been put on back order - apparently their system can't handle multiple scenarios). It's been nearly 2 weeks and counting. There goes another customer... which is sad since I hoped to support local business over amazon.

  • John Garcia

Look generally when I go to other Canadas computers in Ottawa the staff are great but for whatever reason today at this location they let me down. Some of the staff were with customers but there were two guys leaning on the counter on by the register heads down watching a video. I'm waiting by the locked up gadgets I cant get the item myself and walk up to the register so I wait a bit but they don't look up. I get that there probably a lot of down time and theres only so much you can do to keep yourself busy but it isn't a good look for a store that small to have someone waiting.

  • Stuart Dean

Good location. The main one I go to. Customer service is hit and miss. I've had some staff really go above and beyond to help and some who will help only "if it's really quick" (yes that's a direct quote). Pricing is fair and can find some of the harder to locate products (especially legacy cables). Really good and wise selection - although aisle labelling would help (I always get lost haha). I got my PC from them not too long ago and very satisfied with the service they offered at the time and the product they sold me.

  • Andrew M-Hamilton

Brought my old gaming computer in due to a Raid0 array failure, not only did Jake and the team manage to recover my windows image and migrate me over to a nvme they also isolated a ram issue which solved all of my stuttering in video games. Jake (Jacob) was fantastic and not only assessed my knowledge level of pcs ( very high ) and provided apt information that helped me make frugal decision to maximize what I can get out of my computer. Full satisfied, great experience! Thank you Canada Computers Kanata!

  • Conner

Disappointing they had no PC cases on display. They had a fair selection of cases, just all in boxes. Part of the reason a consumer may want to visit a physical store like this is to physically see products. Considering a case makes up the visible exterior of a PC build, having these on display would allow us to assess the aesthetics and build quality of the case. This is true for keyboards and mice as well which they have on display. So why is this not the case for cases?

  • Jen Murray

The staff are always friendly when I go. After price shopping online and going to Costco, staples, etc. I decided to go to Canada Computers. I figured they'd give me and my hubby the best info for what we needed as staff at other stores just didn't seem to inform me in depth. I was right. Benjamin assisted us and he really made us feel at ease about what parts to buy and what we had that was still usable to keep the cost lower. I'd recommend them any time.

  • Earl Spinks

Gabrielle is 5 Star for customer service. Great, honest advice on products and recommends one with value. He has tremendous knowledge to form and share honest opinions on what product is most suitable. Having a few more people like this (if they exist) and getting rid of the policy not to take credit card payment by phone would make it 5 star. Having to drop it off, come back to pay in store ans then to pick up could easily be reduced to 2 visits.

  • Rob Carter

Clean store, well stocked, and pretty much always enough staff that you're never waiting around for help. I've always appreciated that CC dedicates plenty of space in their stores for stocking a massive variety of cables/adapters/tools/accessories/etc. Saved my butt a number of times when realizing in the middle of a project I'm missing one specific adapter, and it's fantastic being able to hop in the car and grab it just a few minutes away!

  • Jason Henderson

Decent place. Staff are helpful. I have found the stock low consistently over the past couple of years, so reliability is not as great for me. Update: Changing to a 2-star after a few visits. I had good experiences working with an employee named Benjamin. However, today I was dealing with Jason, who I found off-putting and combative. It was an awkward experience and I left after a couple minutes of dealing with him.

  • Yogesh Patala

Bad experience with returns and exchange staff. Keyboard was sold broken inside a good condition box and representative put all the blame on me because box seems to be good. One of the keys in Keyboard was broken and sold by replacing box. Bad customer service. No help from staff. No work ethics. Blaming customer without finding actual reason for damages.

  • Lena Famq

I bought a laptop from them. After I chosen one they said that there is no place for sata drive but after I opened it my self I found that it was there. So they sold me an ssd that I don't have need in. Bad knowledge of products. Even though they opened the backplate in front of me and still was proving that there is no space in it. Awful.

  • Grant G

Went in to this store in the last couple months to ask about building a high-end custom PC. The employee I dealt with made the process fun and helped me to choose parts. I could tell he was enjoying the process as much as I was. Had the PC build in store and it was ready earlier than anticipated. The PC has been amazing and a blast to use.

  • Benet Gladwin

The staff at this location are always friendly and knowledgeable. I've bought several components here and never had any issues. More recently, I was having unexpected computer trouble and left my PC with them to troubleshoot. They were able to identify and solve the problem for me, at a reasonable rate, within four days. Highly recommend!

  • Sebastien Gagnon

Staff was so amazing!!! Service was top notch and price was better than I found anywhere online or in town. I brought my hardware in and they matched me up with exactly what I need, also they educated me on multiple products available to increase my PC speed and capacity. Thank you Canada computers Kanata. U rock!!!

  • Calvin Hall

I've bought from Canada Computers many times from varying locations and I consistently find exactly what I need. The prices are often lower than amazon and everyone who works there is very knowledgeable on basic to complex computer questions. If you need computer hardware, they'll have it at Canada Computers.

  • Archie Archibald

Store is fine and staff are okay but don't bother ordering anything to this store from another store. Takes forever. Im not sure if its a canada computs issue or just this location. Been waiting over 3 weeks, called asked staff and no one knows anything in regards to shipping ,super frustrating.

  • Tyler Montgomery

Bought an open box power supply that was missing 2 cables. Returned a hour later and was accused of stealing them. Manager went so far to say there should be 8x sata cables (there are 2 with 4 connectors on each, this was deliberate gaslighting). Would never buy open box or from location again.

  • Logan Smith

2020: They gave me great recommendations on different parts to use in my new computer, as well as great prices! Nov 17th, 2023: Jack helped me and a buddy of mine spec out some parts to build a server. Runs perfectly! Always come here whenever i need parts, I never leave disappointed! :)

  • R J

Had a pc built at this location, After having some failures with my new build. The team was quick and easy to deal with. They fixed the new pc extremely quickly. Great team and great service. My only gripe is the company should update the stores fixtures and layout. It’s old and tired.

  • Chasity Barron

I've called numerous times to ask about the repairs on my laptop. No one answers the phone, if they do, I'm on hold for long periods of time. For what is supposed to be just a hard drive repair I'd like some answers as to where my laptop is... it's been over a month.

  • Omar Diaz

Found what we were looking for and at a fair price, not rating 5 starts as the store was mid building (all CC locations seem to be doing this for some reason) and we couldn't get the items by ourselves we had to ask staff to pick them up from the construction area

  • Ash

Seriously uncomfortable interaction with a guy working here. Not only was he unwilling to look at me while talking, he was rude, dismissive, and short with me. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful when I visit. But I will not be visiting again.

  • John Harju

I knew exactly what I wanted when I went to the store.,(A new laptop). The sales staff quickly and efficiently found what I wanted. I was pleased to find the best price currently available. A quick briefing on warranty, etc and I was on my way.

  • Norbert Nazari

Been here a number of times but twice i’ve been here they helped me diagnose and repaired PC issues I had free of charge. Jacob and Andrew are both very knowledgable and they even stayed 30 minutes after closing to help me fix my issues.

  • Bruce Itterman

Needed a psu for my sons machine and was looking for a good quality but value priced. Sales person was very helpful and reviews after aligned well with the good direction he pointed me towards. Great service from Canada Computers!

  • John Lafontaine

Bought 2 gaming pcs cheaper than anywhere else by a long shot. Knowledgeable staff reviewed my part list, addressed my questions and checked me out in a friendly, timely manner. Would recommend to anyone.

  • Anshu Prasad

Good selection of items when you need a specific cable or other connector. Also lots of in stock options for PC accessories. Very competitive prices, my go to place for when I need something in a hurry.

  • Terry joice

Reserved a new GPU online and went in to pick up. Was not sure which one I really needed but they took to time to compare the benchmarks on three different ones and talked it over with me. Good service

  • Stuart Currie

Large inventory. Some confusion on new stock vs demo from floor. Computer was listed as Win11 but had to upgrade at home from WIN10 for free but with 4Gig download. Beats Amazon and Best buy on price.

  • Debbie E.

I just had my laptop repaired here - these guys are amazing. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, courteous. I thought this level of customer service was a thing of the past! Thank you Canada Computers!

  • John M

The Kanata location has great staff, friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to clearly explain the work they were going to do, and completed the work quickly. Would definitely recommend.

  • Meshari Jaber

I have no problem to inspect the item when returned. But the problem is to let me wait to get my refund for more than 5 minutes so you can repackage it, that’s unprofessional at all.

  • Gaelec Simard

Some of the best service I've ever had in a computer and electronics shop. Great selection and good prices. Highly recommend!

  • Bobby D

I like this store, the floor staff are super friendly, but the workers behind the repair counter have a few weirdos

  • Ian MacFarlane

Same at other locations, very helpful staff. Was inquiring about NAS drives. Will purchase from Canada Computers

  • Matt Henderson

Always keen to help and share their knowledge. Reasonable prices for a brick & mortar store.

  • Terry Rioux

Great place to buy electronics. Ordered online for pickup, and it was ready within the hour

  • Stephanie MacGregor

Ordered the product off their website with a pick up at the store. No issues. Good service.

  • Valerie E.

Looking for watch batteries but they don't carry them. ☹
