Be warned. I reserved a self-catering unit for a week at the end of November 2022. My wife and I arrived in the late afternoon shortly before sundown after a long journey. There was no doorbell or anyone to greet us. I called to the owner, Renee Kritzinger, who explained how to access the key and allocated us to the "Honeymoon Suite". Ms Kritzinger created the impression that she was not at the property. After seeing the room, I called Ms Kritzinger to ask if the room could be cleaned. Ms Kritzinger said she would come and clean it herself. She then swiftly appeared from the bottom floor of the house and seemed agitated. My wife dared to kindly and apologetically point out that the small fridge door was dirty and that the fridge contained some remnants of vegetables from previous occupation, that there was significant dirt and hair next to the bed, that there were some fingernail-clippings on the kitchenette floor, that the ashtray on the balcony was dirty, that the bed sheets were not ironed and looked as if it had been used, that there was a hair stuck to the shower wall, that the untiled shower walls and untiled shower floor looked dirty and mouldy and that she would not be comfortable to shower without plastic sandals. Ms Kritzinger lost her temper and summarily told us to leave. I explained that we had just traveled more than 600km, that it was late afternoon and that we were unfamiliar with Cape Town. Ms Kritzingers animosity was tangible, she insisted that we leave immediately and refused to recommend anywhere else to go. She left the room and slammed the door below. We left and spent the next three days moving from one guesthouse to another, since we could not find availability for the period we required. All establishments we stayed at were much nicer and cleaner than this one. Criticise the cleanliness of the room and shower at your own peril.

This guesthouse, while adequate for a one-night stay, offers rooms that are somewhat diminutive in size. I was assigned to the "honeymoon" suite, which proved to be unremarkable. During my visit, a friend joined me for a glass of wine, but this was met with disapproval from the host, despite the fact that my friend was not lodging with me and only stopped by for a social call. The host's demeanor was discourteous and impertinent, and upon perusal of past reviews, it appears that other travelers share this view. With respect to value, it would be more advantageous to seek accommodations elsewhere in town. Moreover, it may behoove the establishment to reconsider its designation as a bed and breakfast, as no breakfast was offered to me during my stay.

Wouldn’t recommend as the lady is extremely unhelpful - I asked for an invoice with our company details to pay the invoice and she simply cancels my booking .. very unprofessional and wouldn’t recommend. I asked for her to add my company details to pay the invoice - I asked later that evening again and because I didn’t pay her because I needed the company details on the invoice as she promised she cancelled my booking and had a terrible attitude.

I had a wonderful experience during my stay on 8th-9th January 2023 at this location. The owner Renee Kritzinger was an excellent host. She was very professional and friendly. I will recomment Cape Goodness B&B to anyone. Blessings for 2023.

Really friendly hosts and welcome. Nice clean tidy, spacious and comfortable room. Self catering is limited but sufficient with fridge, microwave and dishes. All in all a Pleasant experience.

The service was very unprofessional and having people go in to the rooms while we were away was not a very nice. There's quite a few things but I am not going to name all!!!
