Early primary years are good, but from grade 4 onwards the effort goes into the smarter kids and the rest get left behind. There’s too much focus on performing arts - if they cut it back by half the kids could learn a language like they do at other schools. Their bullying policy isnt worth the paper it’s printed on - my daughter’s friend had to change schools because the school administration did nothing about her brother being verbally and physically abused. So unless your child is a natural academic with thick skin, don’t send them to Casey Grammar. Edit 21/06/18: The new principal seems to be trying to turn the school into Hogwarts, ordering school house banners and implementing house points. He has also created the "Official Party", comprising himself and the head of the primary school, and they wear academic gowns and enter and exit the assemblies to much pomp and ceremony. Meanwhile, the school is asking for donations of materials to create a Sensory Garden for the autistic kids. Sell the goddamn academic gowns and ridiculous house banners and use that money on the garden. This is CRANBOURNE, no one is impressed with the "Official Party". It's actually embarrasing.
After leaving Casey Grammar in year 11 and going on to achieve an ATAR well into the 90s at a different school, I can say that leaving Casey was the best decision I made with regards to my education. There are a small number of amazing teachers at Casey (Mr. O’Connor, Ms. Lacey, Ms. Adams and others), but these are really outweighed by the horrible school administration. I assume the school tries to find some weird balance between education and wellbeing, however really fails at both. The main thing I regret about my education, is not leaving Casey earlier.
Our daughter was bullied a number of times, and sadly the school's response was to attempt to punish her, rather than her male perpetrators. We raised this with the school, and each time the school needed to be prompted on what action to take and how to support her. Our daughter was reluctant to go to school and her learning suffered. There was only one male school concillor avalible to our knowledge, which was a shame. The constant changes of school uniform was an addtional, frustrating expense.
Behind the scenes, the school is very dodgy. it's got great facilities and a few exceptional teachers that i really felt i could talk to like a friend, but the school has recently gone down the trash shoot, hiring several inexperienced teachers and basically forcing the good ones to leave. good on them though, just like me, they escaped this pit.
My kids went to school here from prep to year 12. The curriculum, the teachers and the facilities here are all fantastic! It’s reassuring knowing I can send my kids here and know they’ll come home happy and well educated!
Doesn’t feel personable and the school wastes money on silly things then either benefit no one or just the look of the school from the outside. One thing was they bought a tram. Just a tram. Good use of everyone’s money.
nice education, but allot of strict and computer dumb teachers. good people and funlessons but like allways a couple are useless. overall i give a 4 star, because a school can`t ever get a 5 star from a student...
My kids and many other families I know have attended the school. Great culture, high standards and incredibly dedicated teachers. Highly recommended
Mr. Tutera can't teach, he is undoubtedly the most useless and unprofessional teacher I have witnessed in the more than a decade of being at school.
There is a girl in this school she is amazing and lovely her name is Isabella Parker in year 8.A Lovely school Lovely teachers and also students.
The school good and everything but they buy goofy things like a tram over having a canteen, which would actually useful and be worth the money
Great School, syllabus is excellent, well disciplined . highly recommend.
students are nice but some teachers are too strict about uniforms
proves that private schools are overpriced and over rated
good school and facilites but a large sum of fees
