The school is more concerned about the way the girls dress than their education and wellbeing. Not even concealed necklaces can be worn. Girls are not even able to express themselves in minimal respectful jewellery. Teachers treat students as lower class beings with little respect, disappointing. They will belittle you and make you feel terrible. Please do not send your daughter to this school, it is evident due to the rest of the bad reviews and the concerning amount of students leaving the school per year/term/semester. Sometimes when asking a question about why you have to use a certain way to do things in a subject, teacher responded with “just is”. Despite high fees and even higher canteen prices, the school is just not it. It is also dusty and old, dead roaches always around and concerning amounts of disrespect from the girls who will pick on anyone and anything. It saddens me to write this review, but I please stress do not send your daughter to this school. Her mental health will deteriorate from being treated as a second class being by her peers and the teachers. Almost the only positive about this school is the counsellor, Ms Rogers. A true example of the values that should be shown all throughout the faculty. The girls need a lesson on behaviour and respect, as well as the ability to express themselves through their uniform. Enforcing stronger rules will only make the girls try to be more discreet about it, which is horrible that they are getting detentions, infringements, notes in their diary just because they want to express themselves, it saddens me that students have to fight and argue for their right to wear a necklace or a second piercing. The way a student wears her accessories does not effect her education, the only thing that effects her education is the treatment of teachers and the respect they receive and give. This school is like a bad-area public school except with a high fee. Do not waste your money at a school like this. Your daughter will want to leave within two semesters of going. The bullying is outrageous and not worth the utter process of it.
The teachers and great and amazing. But majority of the school is pretty terrible. The education standards are very low and teach you kindergarten stuff at year 9 sadly this school is also insanely strict in the uniform. Caring about microscopic detail like socks. Is this some kind of grooming salon because this school doesn't even care about education. I understand how religion is a subject since this is a catholic school but as an atheist its terrible how they make these reflection days mandatory and how I got an infringement for not attending it. This school also is filled with really bad girls that need to be expelled. These girls for some reason just never get expelled for ,example the threat. These girls are extremely dangerous, harmful & disrespectful to the teacher and talk back and swear, a lot vape and are extremely racist and do a lot of questionable things. But for some reason the school does not expel them. This community could be so much better if they expel these kids or maybe improve their education standards. Its also really bad how they replaced Languages in year 7 with transition which is inconvenient. This school lacks a lot of artistic opportunities that involve things like dancing especially for years 7s and 8s which are probably the most boring times in the schools. A lot of bullying, annoying and racist girls are there. If you wanna become a religious(most likely not), vape-addict fashionista this school is perfect. There is literally no one in this school that actually takes their studying seriously . Girls need to be more serious. A public school is literally heaven compared to this.
We love this school, the teachers and staff are very supportive, kind, and caring and the school provides comprehensive education in the Mercy tradition. The Principal does a fantastic task of running the school. Our girls attended this school, and we are very proud that they attend Catherine McAuley. The school offers many opportunities, such as academic- programs with Western Sydney University, STEM, World Youth Day, various sports, VET courses, and clubs. We love the community that Catherine McAuley provides, inclusion for all, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We like the fact that the young ladies are dressed appropriately as per school policy. The girls are respectful and polite. I see girls from Catherine McAuley offer their seats on trains for others. My husband and I highly recommend Catherine McAuley to any family that wants a school that provides a Catholic education, a safe, caring, and welcoming atmosphere, cares for and supports young ladies, choices in a variety of subjects that not all schools offer, and empowers and encourages young ladies to choose their career paths for the future.
Where do I even begin with the "experience" that is this school? It was truly something to remember. I must say, I was utterly impressed with the level of incompetence displayed throughout. It's almost inspiring how everything managed to be so spectacularly terrible. I can only assume that precision and accuracy are mere concepts that elude the teachers responsible for this mess. Bravo, really. And let's not forget the impeccable timing of it all. It's like they have a secret agenda to inconvenience every single student. It takes a special kind of skill to consistently make the wrong choices at every turn leading to the mental anguish these students face. But hey, at least they were consistent in one thing: their ability to disappoint. I have to admit, I was almost impressed by their dedication to mediocrity. Truly a lovely School. <3 XOXO
I am very grateful to the Principal and teachers that spend countless hours to ensure my daughters gets a good quality education, a safe environment and ensures that she stays positive and respectful at all times. They nurture and teach our children to give back to the community. The school offers a great atmosphere with various opportunities for our girls to learn and grow. The school values the constructive opinions and feedback of all parents. Thankyou Catherine McAuley staff for a job well done and teaching my daughter life skills to survive in the real world which is priceless!!!
This school is revolting. So many of the teachers aren't actually teaching the kids, they're simply laughing with my daughter which is sometimes good but my daughter has come home multiple times telling me how her teachers have not taught her anything. The school says that they focus on 'mercy values' but they do nothing of the sort. They only focus on uniform instead of what they're actually teaching the kids. The teachers all trauma dump about their own lives and humiliate children in front of entire classes. They are only rewarded if they do perfect in a calss.
The demand & extensive waitlist to enrol speaks for itself! Our daughter entered Catherine Mcauley in Year 7 as a shy, quiet child. The nurturing, pastoral nature of the wonderful teachers and staff has supported her & led her to become a confident young lady who has absolutely blossomed not only personally, but also academically. We are so blessed to be a part of this beautiful school community.
The staff and executive at this school are exemplary. The student accolades are nothing short of impressive. I am so glad our daughter is a part of this wonderful institution which teaches Mercy values at its core. All the fundamentals are addressed to equip our young ladies with valuable and unique skills necessary for post secondary education life.
I have seen useless people in my life but the best one is : SCHOOL LOCKER. We have ordered winter uniform in January and since we don't have any news, I sent many emails, called many times but nobody replied me, just for info the school restart on 26th of April and my daughter still haven't her winter uniform. UNBELIEVABLE !!!
when I first time take my daughter to visit the school, I can’t really see this is a girl high school. the school share the same entrance with Parramatta Marist boy High School. the boys shout loudly when any girls passed by. Even the school ranking not too bad , We still decided not going to the school next year.
