Seems to me the Executive leadership team etc care more about their salary and appeasing the few that either the animals or the public ( who seem the lowest on their totem pole). I watched the zoo go from concrete cages to something beautiful and then so very very downhill since 2014 or so. I feel bad for all the tourists who pay the exorbitant rates so the leadership can bring I the bucks for themselves. FYI 5.5 million a year for management salary and 2.2 million for management personal expenses in 2021. That is more than half of what is paid for animal care. The executive Director makes 460k a year expenses inclusive. Unbelievable.
