I wanted to leave a review regarding Abraham with Cab #47. I utilized Abraham on a trip on from the airport to the Hyatt Regency in downtown Austin. I had other travel plans that fell through and was not expecting to utilize a taxi service. I was immediately impressed with his hospitality and professionalism – he opened the door, offered to help with my bags, offered me water, clearly explained the meter, and answered all my questions. He was a great conversationalist and willing to share small pieces of information regarding him and his family which made it easy to connect with him on a more personal level. He knew the destination, took a very direct route there, and was very skillful in navigating the traffic. So impressed was I, that I cancelled my return travel plans and called to make a reservation to utilize your service, again. Abraham was early to that reservation and, once again, displayed his courteousness and professionalism to my coworkers who were now traveling with me back to the airport. Once again, the return trip was quick and we were all very impressed. If Abraham is a representation of all drivers in your taxi company, I would use no other transportation service if I were to visit Austin, again – which is likely to be a yearly event for me and my coworkers. As a leader who has managed multiple teams, I have a strong appreciation for individuals such as Abraham and it is very easy to recognize his passion for his work and the value that he adds to your organization. Thank you to Abraham for making this very small part of my very busy week memorable, and thank you to Central City Taxi for your brand of service.

My husband and I recently traveled to Austin Texas. Not knowing how the cab service worked in Austin we walked to the area where pick up takes place had 4 large suitcases, and found a SUV available to drive us to the Lost Pines Resort Hyatt property. It was at least 15-20 miles away, the cost of the cab was a little higher than I had expected, but the service was fantastic. Driver number 48 stopped for us to pick up a case of water on the way to the resort and had no problems doing that. He shared his information with us for pick up on the day of our return as I requested it. Getting transportation to this resort can sometimes be challenging. He was to be showing up in the next 10 minutes the day we were leaving and texted me said he had had a blowout and was sending one of his counterparts. He showed up and took us to the airport. In some situations, these drivers would just say sorry I can’t come, and cancel altogether. The timing for us to leave was pertinent for us to make our flight and I was so happy that he was able to send another cab to pick us up without me, stressing to get someone rearranged to show up. His customer service and kind conversation made the extra price. totally doable. Thank you Driver number 48. Appreciate your customer service and your respect to your clients.

UPDATE TO REVIEW: Since the owner responded, let me clarify a few things: * Our driver did NOT use a meter * I uploaded a photo of the posted rate - there is no $45 rate listed anywhere * According to the rate photo, the fare should have been $21 ($20 airport minimum plus $1 passenger surcharge). It was a 6 mile trip, so according to some basic math, we were nowhere near the minimum and as such would be charged the airport minimum ----- Driver #25 tried extorting us by changing the rate mid-ride. Nowhere was it posted that the airport to "downtown Austin area" was a $45 flat charge. We got in his cab because we saw the posted meter rates and thought it was reasonable. This guy is clearly extorting people. According to his posted rates the ride should have been $21 which is in line with uber / lyft rates. This experience was my once-every-three-year reminder to not take a cab and just use uber/lyft instead. Scam artists. Will be reporting them to my CC company and Square, since they seemed to use that as their extortion method of choice Also, the driver had no idea where to go at the end of the trip (kept taking numerous wrong turns), slammed our bags into the trunk, and frequently forgot to use his turn signal. Not a safe driver at all, very bad at what he does.

Then, miraculously, he could read GPS again. Went at least 10 miles under the speed limit. Tried to hit red lights. Never seen anything like it. Unethical is the nicest thing I can say. I made an official complaint with the Austin Dept that regulates taxis and limos and I suggest everyone reading this that has had a similar experience do the same. I will be following up. I was planning on tipping well until he completely ripped us off. My receipt shows car #19. Gray Nissan. I have license plate too. If company has any desire to make this right and pay back for price guaging, let me know. Highly doubt that as by reading other reviews, this appears to be your business model. Shame

I'll start with the good: The drive was quick and the driver was helpful with loading our baggage. Also, car was fairly clean and comfortable. The bad: We left AUS-Bergstrom, after not wanting to wait 15mins for a rideshare and pay over $60 (it normally its ~$35 without surchages). We made our way to the cabstand, where a silver Carolla was waiting. The driver asked if we were looking for a taxi - we confirmed and got in. When we arrived at our home, we were asked to pay $93 before tipping. When I asked him how it was so expensive, he indicated it was a charge of $4/mile. Needless to say, we felt like we were being swindled and, given it was so late at night, we had no real recourse. If I had to do it again, I would avoid or simply WALK home. I do not recommend.

Horrible experience. I should have stuck to my gut and got an Uber. I’ll never make that mistake again. I took a taxi from the airport to my hotel in downtown. Looking at the map, I immediately knew this guy was taking me on a longer route, and asked him wouldn’t the other way be quicker. He said no. The driver was also an aggressive driver yelling at other drivers and driving like a maniac on much of the drive. The taxi ride cost me $52. I was shocked. I paid it, and went on. Today when I left my hotel to leave for the airport I took an Uber for $21, and the overall experience was awesome. Stay away from this horrible place. Use Uber or Lyft. Much cleaner vehicles, much quicker to come to you, and the price of Uber is half of what these scammers charge.

If you see their cab then steer clear. This is some shady business here. They don't have meters in the car and use some app and square POS. They charged me $87 for the fare plus $2 for card surcharge for a trip from Austin airport to Four Points that was $46 on Uber. The worst is their receipt which doesn't even come as if this is a reciept for a cab ride. They're just overcharging customers and this is just unacceptable. Give me an itemized bill and the fare calculation. Your white Camry taxi just has magnetic stickers claiming it to be a taxi but you're not running a legit taxi business. I'll file for fraudulent charges for sure

Unsafe driving & obscene hand gesture observed. (Not a customer experience) Taxi approached from behind, crossed the double line, cut off another vehicle then stuck his whole arm out the window and stuck up his middle finger when the car honked! The Incident occured right outside the airport, no traffic, but the taxi seemed to not plan ahead when the lane ended or didn't notice the signs, lines or other indicators (or didn't care). The taxi then entered the highway, crossed two lanes quickly (no directional) and sped off. October 2022

Terrible service from cab #35 (check the number on the car to make sure you do not get him)! Gave us attitude when we got in his cab about how long he had been waiting in line for a passenger only to give us more attitude because where we needed to go was not a far enough distance for him to deem worthy even though we said we would tip well. Then at the end of the ride he overcharged us with no explanation and still expecting a good top. Always use Uber and Lyft if you can to avoid this kind of terrible service!

Our driver purposely took many wrong turns adding over 15 minutes to our original 20 minute drive. Just two young girls in the car and we were nervous to call him out. He then charged us wayyy over what should’ve even been the range and I then proceeded to tell him I noticed how much time he added to the drive and purposely hitting red lights and wrong exits, to which he freaked out and yelled at us and made us get our our luggage out. Cab number 9, horrible!

I took a taxi from ABIA on Wednesday night because I'm not fond of Uber or Lyft. The tab was about $40, so I asked the driver to charge me $50, thinking that this would be a reasonable tip. I now see on my credit card statement that he charged me $52.50. I have looked at their website and cannot find a way to challenge this charge or discuss it. I guess I'll have to find alternative transportation in the future.

Absolutely awful! Took a cab from the airport to a hotel 2 miles away, driver tried to charge me 50 bucks! Claimed he forgot to tell me it's an airport fee when he picked me up. As I added the printed charges on his window, the total should have been $14 bucks. Then he asked for cash and a tip?Told him to call the cops for me then Walk instead of using these guys Car 20

If I could rate this company less than 1 i would. The driver tried to take me on a longer than needed ride to charge me more. Kept saying his GPS was broken when I could hear the directions and he just kept missing exits. At drop off after i paid he took a picture or video of my property. When I tried to confront him he took off. Start away from these rides.

Today at the Austin, TX airport, one of their drivers ran into the rear end of my car, tried to blame me and when witnesses agreed with me, he took off. I had to step out of the path of his moving vehicle or he would have hit me. They have low ratings for a reason. DO NOT USE CENTRAL CITY TAXI

Our driver on 8/8/23 around 9:30pm, license RRY3364 from the airport made me so uncomfortable. He laid on his horn twice, was yelling and swearing at other drivers, and drove way too fast while also slamming on the breaks at every light. I felt unsafe in the car with him.

My phone and wallet fell out of my purse and the driver for #58 went above and beyond the next day to return it to me. Nothing was missing and he was absolutely awesome in driving it to me. I put the lost message on it and had a phone call right after.

Literally twice the price of a rideshare app. No clear price ahead of time. Complete rip off. I thought I was being supportive of a dying industry. It's dying because of this horrible lack of oversight. Will never take a cab ever again.
