Fred Auto – Avoid at all costs purchase of car For the past 3 years I had my cars serviced at Fred Auto. Overall service / quality was reasonable; even good. In October 2022 I purchased a used car from them based on their recommendation. That was a huge, nightmarish mistake. Within the first week of ownership, mechanical issues started to pile up; As I was within the 30 day warranty period, I promptly reported those to Fred Auto ( multiple visits to the garage). For the following 9 months some issues were fixed, the majority were not fixed and some additional ones appeared. During this period (9 months) all kinds of unsubstantiated excuses; lots of wasted time and many days I had no use of the car; as it was in the garage to be “fixed, during that that time i had to rent a car as my car was waiting to be fixed for long period of time . Car ( a money pit) was never properly fixed by them. I even had to pay money for some parts and labor. Given my experience; I would not recommend purchasing a used car from Fred Auto, and also his service up to standard he kept avoiding me .

I recently moved to Quebec and after CAA inspected my car there were a few issues that needed to be fixed before I could license it. Fred Auto is right around the corner from me, and so I went on a Friday afternoon and asked if they could help me out. I was expecting them to ask me to come back the next week, but they took me in right away and had all of the issues dealt with quickly. I passed the inspection - and I found the price for the repairs to be very reasonable. The owner and staff were all extremely courteous and friendly. I will definitely use their services again in the future!

Had to laugh at some of the fake reviews obviously submitted by Auto Fred.I bought a car from them about 3 years ago a Subaru Legacy Outback 2001.Had to bring car back 3 times shortly after purchasing vehicle.Twice because of fuel leak and the other due to botched paperwork of transfer of ownership.The owner Fred was very unapologetic simply saying to bring in the car.A lot of time waisted back and forth.Their bodywork consisted of stuffing holes with paper and covering over with body filler.Would I buy another car there?Never

Not my real name, for anonimity. I'm convinced most reviews are done by the owner's acquaintances. Fred is utterly unfriendly (let his reply prove my point), lacks transparency and I supsect he over-charges for work that isn't needed or done on your vehicle. if you've had to pay him for parts that are half the price on the market, you'd be familliar with this stunt. Twice he's broken me financially, I regret trusting him; and so does the friend who recommended him to me. Canadian Tire is your best bet.

I bought from you a car in aparently “ perfect condition” and within a year: the A/C broke, Engine pulley failed, thermostat and oil Dam also failed. I ended up spending $1500+ on repairs My mechanic told me that I was given a lemon because the engine was smoking white. I took it to dealer for exchange, and great surprise! the car had a bad accident when was 15K so its value was very low and ended up losing more money. So Yes I gave you one star because I could not give you 0.

My usual garage was not able to take my car when a wheel bearing started to growl, so I called Fred. Even though they were already busy, he managed to squeeze me in and the car was ready next day as promised. What surprised me the most was the professionalism and courteousness that they showed. They even shuttled me to pick up my rental car without hesitation. These guys are the real deal.

This place has been a blessing for me. I had a flat for the first time and the towing suggested me this place. They took my car in , told me to have a seat and that they would check it out after lunch. Well let me tell you that their lunch was pretty quick PLUS they shared with me and gave me a sandwich. Super friendly and a good price. My now go-to garage ! Thanks autofred! :)

Fred often buys crashed cars and fixes them, He offers a free 1 year warranty maybe more if you negotiate. Definitely inspect the vehicles before purchasing, some cars are not all in perfect working order i.e. A/C, fan blower, leaky engines.

This place was referred by a friend and yesterday was my first dealing with them. Service was fast, friendly and most important honest. I highly recommend them for your auto repair needs. Good selection for mags & tires too.
