We took our vehicle to Chad Miller Auto hoping to find an alternative to the dealership. Unfortunately, we are sorely disappointed with the service we received and the lack of customer support. We paid to have our vehicle serviced for factory-scheduled 60-, 70-, and 80,000-mile maintenance, and we were told upon pick up that “everything looks good.” Shortly after leaving on a trip out-of-state, we discovered that a broken windshield spray nozzle, which the receptionist confirmed upon check-in would be fixed, was still broken. Also, while driving on the highway, the belly pan, which we later learned had eroded to an extreme degree, broke on one side, pulling with it parts of the wheel wells. After an emergency pullover, we had to remove multiple pieces of plastic from under the vehicle. Upon arriving at our destination, we took the vehicle to the dealership. We were informed that the services for which we paid at Chad Miller Auto should have included repair of the spray nozzle and an inspection of the undercarriage (both of which were listed on our receipt from them). We were also told that the damage underneath should have been reported. Despite Chad Miller Auto servicing our vehicle and telling us everything was fine, we ended up paying over $1,300 on additional repairs. In the last week and half, we have reached out five times to discuss our experience, spoken with three employees, and twice been told we would receive callbacks that never occurred. During each attempt, we have either been ignored, told information that turned out to be untrue, or met with outright hostility. While I would have much preferred to resolve the situation privately, I am posting this review because we can no longer afford to spend time attempting to engage this business. In the end, Chad Miller Auto refused to stand by their work on our vehicle and did not provide us with basic customer service. We will not be returning. To Chad Miller Auto: Please do not post a response to this review. As a reminder, I spoke with Tony during my second phone call to your business. Tony informed me that we would be refunded for the belly pan and that he would call me back later that day. He never did. During my fourth phone call, Jason asked me to send the receipt from the dealership so you all could discuss a refund. I sent the receipt, called to confirm that you received it, and was told I would receive a callback later that day. No one called me back (that was three days ago). If you were willing to work with me on this matter or offer an explanation about our experience, you have had multiple opportunities to do so.

I chose this shop based on the positive reviews it has received. I had paid a diagnostic fee at another shop but chose Chad Miller to do the repairs. When they called couple days later for the estimate I asked about the diagnostic fee. I could not understand why there was a diagnostic fee when I already wanted them to do the work. Furthermore, if the diagnostic fee is mandatory, why isn't included in the estimate of repairs so I know the total cost. Most shops dont charge the diagnostic fee if they are doing the repairs, but obviously this shop does it differently. When asking questions about it, the owner raise his voice and told me he was about ready to tell me to come pick up my vehicle and they were not going to work on the vehicle if I was going to nickle and dime him about it. This was totally uncalled for. Apparently at this shop you are not allowed to asked questions regarding price/cost. As for nickle and diming.. my vehicle was 15 years old and the cost of the repairs were going to exceed the value of the vehicle. So yea, I am going to ask questions regarding what I was being charged for an understanding. Needless to say, I told him whatever, I wanted them to do that repairs. The vehicle took alot longer than necessary to repair, but went to pay the cost ballooned an extra $1000. Thankfully the rep made an adjustment that brought it in lines with the original estimate. Props to him. About a month after I left the shop I was having transmission issues. I noticed they had used zip ties to keep the transmission fluid pressure switch connectors from popping out of place which would cause transmission issues. A total of 3 zip ties were used. They never bothered to inform me they broke off the tabs that hold these in place. It doesnt cost alot of replace these connectors without replacing the whole engine wiring harness. They assumed I would never find out since they are well hidden. I currently still have transmission issues and cant but help to think this shop might have played a roll given what I have found so far. Pic of the zip tie used.

Originally we started going here because it was close to home. We keep going because these guys are great. Fast, friendly and honest. Always a fare quote and often come in under that quote. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Oh and they are always respectful and honest with my wife as well. Ladies feel free to go here for auto repairs they will treat you right. Update: Chad Miller Auto Care is truly a top-notch auto repair shop. I have been a loyal customer for years, and I can't say enough good things about Chad and his team. The level of honesty and integrity they display is truly unparalleled in the industry. New to town and didn't know where to take my car for brakes. Looked at Google reviews and was impressed by quality of experiences described, happy to add one more stellar review! Was able to book a next-day appointment through the website even after they were closed, confirmed in the morning and they were able to fit me in that day and received a quote for $325. Arrived at location, the shop and office were clean, open, and inviting. Was greeted by Chad Miller personally, and we had a long conversation about independent small businesses in San Antonio, and his service philosophy about establishing relationships with customers. I waited on-site while rear brakes on my Subaru Outback were done. Refreshments, comfortable seating, free guest WiFi. Brake job took a little less than 2 hours, mechanic took it for a test drive, and then handed it over to me. No hidden extra "emergency repairs" were discovered, and invoice stated high-quality ceramic pads.Total price included 10% new customer discount for total of $301. Always nice to receive a discount and to have price come in under the estimate (though without the discount the estimate would have been spot-on). 3yr/30K mile warranty on parts & labor included. Altogether a great car-service experience, price was reasonable and Chad's personal touch gave me confidence about quality of work. Will definitely bring my car here again to this independent local small business. Chad & his wife put a lot of thought into customer experience and satisfaction, and it shows!

Took my vehicle in for an alignment and look over after losing control on the ice and hitting a curb at 20-30mph. I did not have a mechanic that I was familiar with so I once again looked to Google. In typical fashion, the high ratings for this place of business were accurate! Chad, the owner/operator, was on site and greeted me immediately upon walking in. He listened to my concerns about possible suspension damage due to the nature of the impact. My initial impression was that he runs a tight ship and knows exactly what is going on with every vehicle in the shop at any given moment. The next day, I received a text that my vehicle was ready and that it only needed an alignment. I was happy with the outcome and also pleased that he didn't attempt to sell me any additional service or parts. Very honest! I ended up picking up the vehicle on the following day. In the back of my mind I was also concerned because there was a hail storm in SA while the vehicle was there. I asked Chad if there was any hail at the shop. His reply was yes, but then added that he came up there after hours to move his customer's vehicles into the garage so that they would not be damaged! This speaks volumes about his sense of ownership and responsibility. Cost for service was very reasonable as well. Chad Miller Auto Care is now my "go to" auto shop.

First time with Chad Miller Auto. Went there based on research, reviews, and personal experiences of the different shops in San Antonio. Made an appt and dropped off the car as scheduled. Main concern was the A/C, but decided to have them do 2 other services that were due soon (coolant & xmission). They were busy but Jason was patient enough to answer my questions, over the phone and in person. (I'm not a car mechanic but do know some basic stuff.) They were courteous/polite when responding to my inquiries/clarifications. I was hoping to get the car back the same day but it took a bit longer than expected (next day), which wasn't a big deal because (1) lots of cars -- they're busy, and (2) I think/hope they aren't rushing nor cutting corners. They did mention a couple of other things to watch out for as a precaution BUT did not upsell me nor insist that it needed to be done now or soon. I also think they made an effort to adjust my final bill on their own accord, which I really appreciated. It's my family's safety at stake and I'm hoping everything checks out in the next few months, and if they do, then we found our new trusted shop for our cars! Thank you and more power to you all!

Had a great experience with Chad Miller Auto Care. The team was very thorough, efficient, and informative. I like that they listened to my problems and what I was experiencing with my car and they immediately had an idea of what could be wrong and successfully progressed to solve the issue. The staff I had the pleasure of meeting was very friendly and courteous, and explained what they did in a very understanding and informative manner. The prices are exceptionally reasonable and I appreciate that in the estimate, the price included the evaluation, parts, and services, so you you knew upfront what to expect. I also really liked that they solved the issue I presented them with and didn’t try to swindle or add any additional necessary fixes, which so often happens at many other auto repair places, and many of which I haven’t returned to. I can honestly say that with any future car needs, I will be going back. They made a great first impression, provided quality service and made the entire process painless and easy. Will continue to return with my car and any future cars. I couldn’t recommend them more, and will absolutely suggest them to all my friends and family in the area.

Great place to bring you vehicle. The staff inside was friendly. Mr. Miller himself was a joy to be around. You can tell he took his job seriously but was also concerned himself with the client (me) to make sure he was bringing great service. I was never disappointed in his service or pricing. I was disappointed in myself for waiting so long to get service and I feel he heard that in my voice. He quoted me a price and got started. When I went pick up my car and pay, it was cheaper than what he quoted. They even did extra things like getting my turn signal working and propping up something that was hanging from my the bottom of my car. I can't express how impressed I am with this service. I normally have a guy who works on my car but this was an emergency and needed this done ASAP. The job was completed in a day and I was back on the road. The reviews are true and if anybody ever recommends this place, it's cause they had a great experience as well and I would trust them. Thank you Chad Miller and your awesome employees as well. I hope to bring back my business and hopefully more to you.

Didn't really know how to rate this place but wanted to share my experience. I took my car in and was told it would be $140 just to look at it. I was then quoted $1500 for repairs and told $70 of my first payment would go towards the repair. I thought on it then decided to take it down the road to another repair shop just to see what they would say. I didn't say anything about it being previously looked at. The second shop not only looked at my car free of charge, immediately diagnosed it with the same issue, and quoted me almost $250 LESS than Chad Miller did, and warrantee their repairs. Needless to say I did not chose Chad Miller to repair my car. I'm sure charging for diagnostic isn't uncommon but I wanted to make others aware that there is still MANY shops that will diagnose free of charge and offer quality service. I'm new to San Antonio and was referred to Chad Miller and then referred to the second shop. I wish I would have went somewhere else first, would have saved me $140!

I found that my driver side headlight was out. Knowing that I was going to be returning home at night, I checked in at Chad Miller Auto to see if there was any way they could squeeze me in to get my lamp fixed. Chad asked me to pull my car up to an open bay and he met me there. He asked me to open the hood. He quickly yanked out my old bulb, walked back into the shop and emerged a short time later with a new bulb in hand. He popped it in and everything was working like normal again. All this was done in less than 5 minutes. I met him back inside when he was finished and asked what the price would be. He only charged me for the part and said he only did 2 minutes of labor. I was extremely impressed and appreciative. I’ve been a customer at this shop for years and it’s this kind of service that keeps me coming back and sending all of my friends there. Thanks Chad. Chad and Jason are fantastic. I took my car in for a check engine light that originally read a misfire for an ignition coil or spark plug. Chad and his team quickly diagnosed my vehicle and found the culprit to be a faulty fuel injector. Not only was I not charged for their initial assessment but they gave me a fantastic price on the parts and labor. In fact when the final bill came in it was $120 cheaper than what they quoted me. They also gave me a ride home and picked me up when my vehicle was ready. I cannot stress enough how fantastic the overall service was at this place. Just listening to their interactions with customers gave you the satisfaction that they are there to help and not nickel and dime you. Glad to say my car is purring like a kitten again thanks to these guys. Don't think twice, go to Chad Miller Auto Care!

The car was a mess, it needed help, so I brought it to the car doctor for a checkup. The prognosis was bad, real bad. She was on her last legs (or teeth in this instance) and was barely functional. The timing belt had lost most of it's teeth, the water pump was ready to go, but she kept on truckin with barely a tick tick sound. Surgery was performed but she rejected the new parts with a thump and a ping. There went the valve stems! The doctor calls to inform me of the unsuccessful surgery, and that more operation will be required. Of course the question is "how much doc?" and Dr. Chad did some searching. After we agreed what needed to be done, the Dr. and team attempted surgery #2, which led to success! She's up and running, better than ever! No more tick tock and groans of death. Maybe another 100,000 miles in her yet!

Just recently my a/c was not blowing cold air. My dad and I tried to recharge the system ourselves but eventually realized it needed to be taken to a professional. As a young woman, dealing with car problems can be intimidating; people often will try to take advantage of you, overcharge, and cut corners. I’m so thankful for Chad Miller’s. They are honest and genuine people with excellent customer service. Not only was my a/c fixed in a timely way, but they communicated updates on my car before doing any work and I even paid less than I originally expected! I had taken my 2009 Chevy Aveo in for repairs back in April 2022 for a water pump issue which they replace it and all the belts. They informed me an oil leak which I was unable to afford at the time. They showed me pictures of the residual of the leak. I brought my car back this past week and they repaired it replacing the oil cooler, the valve cover which was cracked, and the gasket. They also changed the oil. They were courteous, reasonably priced, and honest. They explained what they did, I honestly never heard of an oil cooler but it does have one, I looked it up for my own piece of mind. It is not easy to find an honest, fairly priced mechanic these days. I will not hesitate to take my car or recommend them family and friends.

I went to the shop because car was making a "weird" noise. Normally I hate going to auto shops because they talk down to me, over complicate things, sugar coat, and over charge everything. Not this place. Not only did they explain what was wrong, they gave me worse case situation, and best case so I knew about what the cost would be. And once my car was "in the air" they let me know what's wrong, how much it was, and even fixed up a few other things that was wrong with it. The price was in the amount they said (not too bad for what they did) and was ready to be picked up the next day. I'm definitely coming back to get any and all work done to my car!

I got a few estimates for my GMC Acadia that was overheating before deciding to go with Chad Miller Auto. I read through Google reviews and saw that they were one of the best rated auto care providers in the area. I have to say that I see why they have a 5 * rating. Their customer service was excellent and the quality of their repairs was even better. Not to mention the turnaround time to get my vehicle back was great as well. Nobody ever likes to pay for repairs but I do feel that their price for parts & labor was competitive. I actually have to get my A/C leak repaired so I'll definitely be giving Chad & his team a call in the near future.

Horrible. I was lied to about the amount of time it would take to perform the repairs. Was told over the phone it would take 2 hours, when I got to the store they said it would be an all day thing and that it takes 2 hours once it’s in their shop. The person I spoke to over the phone made no effort to inform me of the need to drop off my car so I was not able to make arrangements. The person in store made it seem like it was my fault for not knowing important information I was never told. I’m sure when they give you all the information you ask for they can do a good job, but they flat out lied to me to try to get my business.

I brought my Corolla in due to a loud noise from my tires while driving. It had turned out that my wheel bearings and hubs needed to be replaced. The workers at Chad Miller Auto Care were thorough in their inspection. They are reasonably priced and only recommend repairs that are needed. Their customer service is unparalleled. They answered all of my questions about the process and kept me updated during the whole process. Everything from the parts arriving to when it was almost complete. They truly care about their customers and treat them like family. I highly recommend them to anyone needed mechanical repairs.

They solved and repaired a complicated electrical issue for my truck. However they did not plug in the FM/AM connection to my radio when putting everything back together. When going to plug it back in (instead of wasting a day taking it back to the shop), I saw that the 4 screws used to mount the radio to the dash were also not replaced. Called a notified them, but never received an explanation or response from anyone. Will I return? Yes. Because the diagnostics/pricing/honesty is great. I just hope whichever apprentice is reassembling the vehicles after service is taught to not have extra hardware left over.

Beyond happy with Chad Miller Auto Care! Yolanda the Honda needed some much need care and Chad and his team were absolutely wonderful! I spoke to Ben on the phone and he was able to talk to me about the issues and was knowledgeable about what was going on. They are beyond friendly and honest. The prices are great and the work is on point. They went above and beyond my expectations by a landslide during this visit. I just moved here from California and was desperately looking for an honest mechanic (something extremely rare; especially in CA.) I must say that Chad and his crew are all extremely kind, honest, professional and experts at what they do. After my first service and experience with them, I will not trust anybody else to touch my vehicles. Chad was unlike any other mechanic that I’ve met! I will make sure to refer him to anybody that I find that needs service done. They even had a driver to take me back home! I never experienced that from a shop before either. Posting this a bit late, but I got my car worked on here early this summer and absolutely would recommend! They were friendly and helpful, honest about the repairs my car would need and how I could get them done most cheaply, and incredibly understanding when I let them know I couldn't afford any further repairs at the moment. They charged me only for the work they had done and even helped me and my dad hook the car up to a tow dolly. I'm living in a different city now, but if I ever return to San Antonio and need any work done on my car, will definitely be going to this place again!

I haven't even dropped my truck off yet. I was yelled at by the owner because I called to verify my pricing. All I wanted to do was make sure I had enough money to pay if my truck ended up having another issue after getting my break switch changed out. The owner got on the phone telling me to pick up my parts because I keep calling to verify pricing. Then he told me if they can't fix it, it will be a diagnostic fee on top of what they originally were supposed to fix. I will never use this company. I do NOT recommend using this shop unless you like to be treated as less then a person.

Best mechanic I ever been to, assessing quality of work, price, value, cust srvc. Mr. Chad has a customer-first attitude in how he runs his shop. Example: Just this AM I called the shop at around 8:20 and said I had a detached undercarriage cover and it made noise bouncing off the road surface, and can I bring the car in. Despite heavy workload he said yes. I brought it in and in less than an hour, the issue was fixed. The price? Can't say but it was a price one could hardly argue with! Mr. Chad and his friendly staff continue to amaze. Take your car here, you won't be disappointed.

I went to Chad Miller because my check engine light was on. I was able to quickly schedule an appointment and their office was open when I arrived, even thought it was before 7am. They were polite, offered a ride if I needed one and quickly diagnosed the problem. The cost was very reasonable! I also asked them to check out my brakes, which they did, and they let me know they were great and did not need anything. It is so nice to have a car shop that you can trust and that gives great service. I will go there for any future needs! Thank you all so much!

I have recommended him to friends and family as well as numerous people at my church and will continue to do so. OMG. Stopped by there at about 515 because check engine light was on. Even though they close at. 530 and its a Friday Chad himself came out to diagnose the issue. Im sure he could tell I was worried. He then took out my spark plugs, cleaned them and reinstalled. He was awesome and he did not charge me even though I was dipping in to his weekend. He then gavè me some options and was very helpful as to what to expect when replacing the parts. I am so appreciative of how he helped me and will return anytime I need my car serviced

Nothing but great things to say! I already knew it would be good based on the heavy amount of good reviews but I decided to try out myself. I usually go to the dealership for my car but those prices are not always affordable. Went here and got an issue in my car fixed and they found another issue and also fixed that as well and at an affordable rate! They even went above and beyond and helped me out and ziptied some hanging pieces on my car that I couldnt figure out how to do myself! Greatly appreciated and will come back!

I heard about this business from coworkers. When I needed my brakes replaced, I made an online appointment. I was speaking directly with Chad Miller who is very hands on in every aspect of the business. I even requested a last-minute oil change and they were able to accommodate me. I stayed in the waiting area (but they do offer complimentary to and from shuttle service) and my car was out in 4.5hrs. Awesome experience which is hard to come by in the automotive industry. On top of it all, the cost was very fair!

I've been a customer for a couple of years and have been extremely satisfied with the work they have done on my Mazda 3. I leave feeling confident that the problem has been resolved. They are the kind of business that will send a mechanic with you to drive around the block if you don't know exactly what the problem is. This is the best automotive shop that I have ever gone to for full service car care. The team are transparent about what is going on with your car, even providing a full diagnostic report. They will pick you up and drop you off when your car isn't available, and the team is friendly and willing to help. My explorer would not start and after troubleshooting it myself I had to call a pro. I had seen Chad Miller Auto Care while driving by and thought Id give them a shot. They recommended a tow truck service that was reasonably priced and got me checked in and started diagnostics on it. They quickly found it was the Fuel pump and was able to quickly replace it and have it out the very next day. Excellent service and priced right. Would return.

I can't say enough positive things about this shop. My uncle was involved in an accident by driving over a median/curb. They went through the car and didn't just replace things but made sure what needed replacing got done. They also discovered the dealer had missed something on another visit. Needless to say, we will be going back to the dealer and asking what the deal is. They do great work and only what is needed. How refreshing! A+++

Great place to get quality service. My car AC was blowing hot and stopped at a few places closer, but they wanted to keep the car overnight or give me a high price without even diagnosing issues. Dropped my car at Chad and he topped off the freon for a good price and had the car back to me in a few hours. I got a courtesy call two days later to make sure everything was working well. That's just how good and thoughtful they are!

Everyone is great at communicating the issues with the car and being very clear about required repairs and remaining true to estimates. My insurance company was not very easy to deal with and Chad was great about working through with them and making sure my repairs would get completed. Absolute pleasure to work with them and while I never hope I need to have repairs done, I know where I’m going when it does need to happen.

I have known Chad for at least fifteen years, starting when he was service manager for another employer. Chad Miller Auto Care gives great value for they cost of service. If they notice more service will be needed, they will let you know and provide a cost estimate with alternatives. Unless there is a factory recall item, I always take our vehicles to Chad Milled Auto Care. I highly recommend this business.
