Update: stopped in over the weekend. The staff hang around, acting more like loss prevention, staring down customers, with their ear systems hooked up, rather than provide quality, good customer service. The empty remains of the now gone Starbucks is making this location even less inviting. I only come here when persuaded by the fam, otherwise....meh. ------ I came here yesterday with my kid and newborn to purchase a present for my husband. I went to the stationary section where I wanted to browse, and find a celebratory card. Apparently reaching in your stroller to find a soother for your crying baby means you are shoving merchandise in your stroller?!? I've never seen an employee run up to me so fast while I was on my way to the cash to pay for my items. It was apparent that the cashier, who can see me in plain sight, alerted floor staff to "offer me assistance." I put two and two together, and was totally turned off. I do frequent this location a bit, since its my neighborhood Chapters, but this interaction left a sour taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, I've seen this happen to others too many times at this location. I guess today was my turn. While my kid loves browsing the children's section, and they have a lot of bargain books that I love picking up, the store can come off at times as intimidating to shop at. There is no where to sit, Starbucks is now closed, there are no communal tables, magazine section is half of what it used to be, and browsing the store might flag staff that you are up to "no good."

I adore Chapters. I've actually been to a few of them, and many times, over the course of years. This is a place that smells of books, cleanliness, interest, holidays, coffee (if you're close enough to their indoor Starbucks) and a plethora of... options! I am always impressed by their helpful staff, great selection, gifts and doo-dads, and more. I feel home and welcome when I go to Chapters.. even if I'm just standing in an aisle for a while, browsing. I personally greatly enjoy the Spiritual books and selection of Tarot card decks, History, Poetry and much more.. including their great bargain deals. I've even discovered some great music bands whilst there, simply browsing and listening... Wonderful stuff! A home away from home, a great store with great wares, a good section for children too, Chapters has a bit, or even a lot, for everyone. I'll always return. Cheers!

I need to highlight the experience I had with Jean from Gloucester, Chapters. Realistically, who doesn't light up when walking in a book store to begin with. I was looking for a few books that this location in particular did not have. Jean helped me, gave me reccomendations and we talked about our "TBR" until he found a book that was in stock from my to be read pile. I've witnessed his interactions with a few other customers as well, and it's everything you want coming in a book store. Kind, genuine, positive and warmth radiating out of him. He even came back to make sure I had found something to my liking. Jean deserves a raise! This is probably my favorite Chapters/Indigo interaction I've had.

If I could live here I would. I love this store, they obviously have any book you could ever need, and ones you don't and some that make great gifts. The game and electronic selection is decent and we'll stoked. Some of the games they have are really cool. There's one word game that's really awesome, I can't remember the name, it comes in a fabric banana pouch. The home decor looks like pages picked from Pinterest. And the stationary section is probably my favourite. My daughter is 7 and loves the kids section, she definitely gears more towards the toys but once she's done playing she loves to pick out a few books and read them with me on the window sill.

I was looking for a book for my nephew for his birthday, and once I found what I was looking for there was this amazing lovely lady who worked in the kids section in the back. she made my experience amazing, she offered to wrap all the presents that me and my friend bought, and she was such a friendly and personable person. she was able to balance servicing us and making sure other customers are being serviced at the checkout counter which was so wonderful because there was no lack in service for either. she was very entertaining with her stories about Mr. Steve which is her kitty cat. One of my best consumer experiences at a chapters

My favourite Chapters in the city, mainly because it has changed the least over the years and I can still find the sections I'm looking for in relatively the same location. I love the open feel of this location, and the household/gift items are always unique and worth a look-over before heading to the bookshelves. Several info kiosks throughout the store, enough that you never have to wait too long for one to open up and search for the books you want to buy. Also love the family section, with board games and card games galore. Bonus: This location has an attached Starbucks so you can sip your latte while perusing your new books!

  • Denis Denis

I went to the computer found that The book was in the store. So far ok. This is a bit g place. The issue I had was that the computer has no info as to where I n the store the book is located. Not a big deal as an attendant was able to locate the book, although like me agreed the system is not helpful. We agreed the computer should display a number attached to the section and the book, that way it would be an easy find for the client. Instead of wandering around. Having said this the service from searching then paying for the book was pleasantly humourous.

This is my favorite bookstore in town to chill out and purchase books, magazines, games, cards, agenda, gifts, and other fancy interior items. This location is not crowded, and staffs are very friendly. If you are not a member of the bookstore, I highly recommend you to join their membership. The membership gives you some discount for your purchase, and you can also save some points according to your purchase. Also, there is a Starbucks at the corner of the bookstore, so you can read here with a nice cup of coffee.

Nice place for books of course but lots of nice home furnishings and toys too. It's a great place to spend a little bit time time with kids where they can come and check out some of the books and toys and pick something out for themselves. It is an expensive store. Bought some toys here only to find them much cheaper elsewhere and same thing for books. Eliminating the Starbucks has pretty much wiped out the people who would come and read the magazines on the racks or even books and put them back afterwards.

  • Keagan Peterson

Updated: With Starbucks leaving, there is some construction/disorganization to the front left corner of the store but to be expected with growing pain. I would love to see it fixed (it’s been a year with it looking the same). I usually give Indigo or Chapters 5 star reviews, perhaps I've been spoiled by the new Indigo layouts. More traditional style than the more modern stores, but still quite comfortable. I frequented this location as a kid and am never disappointed, just slightly behind the times.

  • Jim Purchase

2023: really nice store super clean, super friendly and helpful staff. Visited this store yesterday. Was looking for a particular book by Dr Jason Fung and they had both The Obesity Code and The Obesity Code Cookbook! While I was paying for the books, the total was a bit over $60 and the lady says, “ do you want a bag with that”, I said, “yes please”, and she replies, “ it’s 10 cents”, and right there she lost a star. Of course I want a bag, why would they charge me 10 cents when I pay over $60?

  • Jason D

Standard Chapters location, one of my wife's favourites - the old area where the Starbucks was built in needs to be addressed/turned into something as it is currently just being used to house the clearance offerings of the store. Often an underappreciated spot for picking up gifts - this particular store has been a bit of a swoon for me when I need something to pick up last minute for all the celebrations I forget I'm supposed to have something for (Anniversaries and birthdays, mainly)

  • chikara persaud

Great place with competitive prices. Customer service is some of the best I've seen anywhere. I mistakenly bough the same book twice and even lost my receipt and easily was able to exchange it for another book. I made a purchase online but seem to have forgotten to log in and thus did not gain any reward points but again they immediately helped after I sent a quick email and added the points. Very friendly and quick. Pretty wide selection of books too which is great.

  • CeeCee M

I love bookstores completely! I wish the prices were more competitive in the stores so you don't research in store and then but online because it's significantly cheaper. With the prices of everything increasing one has to save when and where they can. Did I make a purchase in-store....yes. Another purchase will be made online to save 30%... (No I didn't require special assistance finding my fav section of the store). You can't beat the feeling of a book!

  • dave_bed

Went here about a week ago, right next to Blair station which makes it rather accessible for anyone living in the short to medium vecinity. They seem to have a large variety of books and household misc. My friend found a specific kids book she was looking for and I purchased a pretty squishy stuffed animal. There were hidden discounts on it and with my friends store points card I got an even bigger discount. Staff was friendly and chatty. Can't go wrong.

  • Greg Sommerville

I came in to replace my bike because my dog literally ate my last one. I found a pretty nice one, felt good in my hands (buying a bible is a little like buying a guitar. You need to hold it in your hands before purchasing), and was priced well The staff was super friendly. I wonder how much longer these retail chains are going to last given the online purchasing options. Anyway, it was good.

  • Pauline Lafleur

Less and less books....easily 1/5 of the magazines....lots more home decor and hygge friendly merchandise. Depending on your wants and needs that could be good or bad! Covid has been harsh on stores. Visit your small bookstores and second hand bookstores for superlative service, Chapters still has a nice vibe. A good second choice, better than second choice for teen and children selection.

  • Daniel Steven

Chapters is such a comprehensive book store with great, helpful staff on hand. We wanted to get a friend's 2 year old child a book to help them fall asleep but not having children ourselves we didn't know of any good ones. We asked a member of staff and they were so helpful, showing us multiple books that she'd heard of. Really helpful staff and huge selection of books and stationary.

  • Terrance McGrath

Chapters is always a delight to visit. They have, what I consider to be a destination store. The displays were very attractive, and lots of interesting items to check out. The store was clean and well organized. We looked at books and at merchandise. We bought several items. The cashier was professional and helped us with their frequent shoppers program. Excellent store and staff.

  • Kayla Elfarou

this is an outstanding chapters location! it never disappoints! the staff are super nice, the location is very well maintained, there is a HUGE selection of books of all genres alike. this location always have what i want to purchase. there is also other things other than books that looks like it is in decent quality!! i recommend coming to this location.

  • Max

Good sized, friendly book store, full of many different categories and great selection. There is something for everyone there. If you have access needs they will do their best to meet you where you are. It'w sensory friendly for me, their lighting is soft, and it is quiet with no fragrances or flashing lights. I also bought my favourite scarf there.

  • Megan McHale

Have been going to this location for years now. Even during times like these with difficulties for retailers via staff and supply..... This place is winning! All the staff I've come across recently have been helpful, knowledgeable and seem to be in a great mood. Store is clean and organized and usually have the books I'm looking for. .

  • Shayla

Nice selection of products ranging from books to home goods. They have an amazing return policy (bought the wrong item for my little cousin, was able to bring it back hassle free). They also have a huge selection of games, makes family night even better. The children’s section is also really nice. Love this place. Can’t wait to shop again

  • Kourosh Farrokhzad

Good selection, good service and friendly staff. Unfortunately the gift items, accessories and toys in the children's section seem to take away from what could be an even better selection of books. Also I'd like to see chapters go back to their extended hours - the store closed at 9:30, which was somewhat disappointing.

  • Alina Balunova

Note: if you bought something online and are going to pick it up, make sure you call the number on the window. They give you your order at a very good distance and the employees are amazing. I kinda miss the experience of going into the store so hopefully this Covid mess will end soon! Can’t wait to buy more books!!

  • Amy LeRoy

This store is always very clean and organized. They have a great selection of books, as well as games and home accessories. The staff are usually friendly and helpful. I always manage to find good deals when I go there, whether it's a pool floatie or a book I've been looking for. The atmosphere is very laid back.

  • Cassie Braithwaite

They were very friendly- looking for a book for my daughter. Wasnt available in any chapets locations- it was all sold out.... They suggested I order online- and it would be able to be picked up (in store) in a WEEK. I went home, ordered it on Amazon that night, and it showed up to my house next day.

  • Giorgio Manasseri

Always has so much selection, going to chapters or indigo never disappoints. This is one of the biggest chapters i’ve been to if not the biggest one. We spent a whole hour and a half browsing the shelfs. The staff was also really kind to us! I love how the colours match the environment, so calming!

  • Brian Eng doing his Theng!

They have great deals and a great assortment of items to buy so I would love to give them a great rating but I had to scale back as the service was unappealing. The cashier didn't acknowledge us and seemed to have very low morale. The lineup was crazy and took a long time to get through.

  • Alex Killby

The staff at this Chapters are always welcoming and helpful. Love having a large and welcoming book store in my community. Would love it if the store created a place to sit and read or open a small café of their own now that the Starbucks location has closed down inside the store.

  • Gabby CB

Nice things to buy, good for gifts. Very nice deals aswell. I got three books for 10$ which is quite nice! Very neat and clean and friendly checkout staff! Location is convenient aswell as there is a Starbucks right besides it so you can enjoy a drink and snack while reading!

  • Brenda Wilson

I was a really wonderful experience today! Not too many people so we felt pretty safe and that means so much. The staff were all amazing but one fella in particular by the name of Jean went well above and beyond to help us find exactly what we were looking for. Thanks Jean!

  • Marissa Smith

I was told that I could exchange an item and then when I went back to the cash with my new item the manager changed their mind and said I could not. Not pleased with this experience and wished an employee would have approached me saying I could not exchange my item anymore.

  • Sue Dezell

The staff were all so very helpful and courteous. I enjoyed shopping for a book and a beautiful gift all in one nice store. I'll return to shop there again for these reasons. Thank you, Chapters for your amazing store and professional assistance while I shopped for a gift.

  • Axandre Lemours

Always a fun time. Prices are good, and if you don't like them, they're even cheaper online for the most part. Genres are easy to find and well organized, the tech section, though small, covers a lot of different areas of portable tech, and the built-in Starbucks is nice.

  • Emilie Tateham

I absolutely love this chapters! I asked an employee about a book and she was extremely helpful and kind! She even pointed me towards some she thought I'd like. You'll always find something for you at chapters! This is my favourite store to go to when shopping for books

  • Katherine Caine

It was my first time being in this Chapters and it took at bit of figuring out wheelchair ramp into the store fo get to the section of the books. The store seems to be renovating and was in a disarray. Staff were few. Unsure, I go back but I always love a bookstore

  • Jason Reeson

I love going to chapters. Such a great store. The staff are always so great and helpful. If you can't find something they can order and ship it to you which is awesome. It's also nice there is a Starbucks in the store (I still can't justify paying $5 for a coffee!)

  • Teah Lizee

Great place to browse books and homes accessories. A little bit pricey but everything is so cute! As always, here's a Starbucks attached. Sometimes it can take a little bit of searching to find an employee but they're always very helpful and friendly once found!

  • Anastasiia Khutorova

I was in a Canadian bookstore for the first time, and wanted to find something to read that Canadians read in high school. A nice consultant gave me advice which book to choose and helped me to find it. I was very satisfied with the service and a cozy place.

  • Matt Gray

Great service and very informed employees that can help you find what you are looking for in store or at any store. It would be great to see their online shopping have a shipping option to ship straight to my house. Time to join the world in 2022 Chapters!

  • Devin Peterson

Great book store, if you are an avid reader and purchase books regularly. Sign up for their free book rewards program and you'll get points from your purchases for in-store credit. Customer service is very good, employees know their way around the store.

  • Anik Sorrell

Decent variety of books/home products. However you can typically shave quite a bit off the price by ordering online. I understand the appeal of the physical store, and the "get it NOW" factor, but the price discrepancy knocks a whole star for me.

  • Selina Lavigne

Always love coming here, and my son does too. It's big, spacious, with just about any book you may be looking for. Staff always seems to be in a great mood too! I used to come here to study as well when in school, just a comfortable environment.

  • james43867

A fun and large chapters that has chairs to sit and a ton of selection, from books (of course) to plenty of home goods and fuzzy blankets. Come for a book and leave with $300 worth of stuff you didn’t know you were going to buy. Happy reading!

  • Richard Gagnon

Very cool place ! Went there for a book signing- Jim Hurcomb ( Rockin at the Rideau - Vol 1 and 2) had a blast talking to him and his friend, bass player for the Esquires! Then my good old friends showed up. The day was just getting better!!!

  • Carl Cencig

This is a fun, large and spacious bookstore. Much more than a bookstore in fact. There are tons of the different types of books you can expect, of every genre. Asides from books, there are tons of different household goods on offer for both

  • karen Dubue

I was looking for a birthday gift and not only did I get 1 gift I was able to find 2, a book which my husband loves and a glassware gift which was a surprise which also turned out to be the perfect gift. One stop shopping!! Perfect and easy.

  • Talia Nehme

Great location for a bookstore. It has everything you need! Books of every genre, ebooks, agendas and stationary, mugs, teas, and even clothing items! If there is a book you can't find in store, they can locate it in other locations or you

  • Devon Richards

One of the busier locations I’ve been to but still very impressive! I love every Chapters that also has a Starbucks, and I never feel rushed when I’m browsing books. I recently got a couple Christmas gifts from this location and the staff

  • Karine Lalonde

This is our go to spot to just walk around and browse through the massive selection of books. They always have something interesting in stock and they don't mind you flipping through pages quickly. The staff is usually knowledgable in

  • KEE van DEURS

This location has everything !!! Way beyond a "book store" ! I was so surprised. What started as a "drop by and pick up a book" errand turned into a little trip of discovery. The lady that offered her assistance was excellent -

  • S D

Store was quiet, very friendly staff, lots of things to look at. Was surprised when I was told they were closing at 7pm on a weekday, but otherwise good experience. Will return for some bargain books and possible candles!

  • Charles Jamieson

Good selection, friendly staff, and Starbucks on-site. Free parking and convenient to other stores and services. My go-to for my book shopping when I want the tactile feel of books rather than shopping online.

  • Lisa T

This is a great location! The young staff on hand are very helpful & friendly, outgoing and ready to find your book! Following excellent Covid protocol and clean too. Staff on register are also very friendly.

  • Gerhardt Blume

Very nice store with a pretty good selection. I used the in-store pickup and it was extremely efficient. The staff was very friendly. It’s a little disappointing that the adjacent Starbucks has closed…

  • Maya Lemaire

This is my go to Indigo for bargain books, fantasy books and teen books. I feel like they have the best selection in those genres. And like most indigo stores the staff are super kind/helpful.

  • Comp SysTech

My favorite bookstore.. I could spend hours in here!! I always walk out with a good read which I sometimes have the helpful staff pick out for me. I highly recommend this bookstore.

  • Jordan Turley

A run-of-the-mill, somewhat dated Chapters. Much less interesting now that Starbucks has closed. Good book selection... for now – overpriced home goods are increasing in number.

  • Chris Commandant

Great place for all your culinary book needs. Priced reasonably and comparative to shopping for books on Amazon. Here you can find many great cook books and cooking resources

  • John English

Deseray is a tremendous worker and is very nice. She helped me get the holy bible for Minecrafters and I am very grateful. She deserves a raise and maybe a promotion …
