I was taking a walk along Park Road one Saturday afternoon. The heat index was close to 100 degrees (I know...not a smart thing to do, but I had plenty of water, so I thought I would be fine). I had a hard time getting back though because of the heat and I had to take frequent rests and drink water. I was resting under a tree when Engine 16 passed me heading south on Park Road. Less than 5 minutes later, I heard this big noise and it was them - they were right in front of me. They had turned that big red truck around (which is no easy task, I'm sure) to make sure I wasn't in distress. They rolled down their windows and one of them said...."Are you OK??" Thankfully, I was, but it was so kind and thoughtful of them to take the extra time to make sure. A class act!!

Over the last two years I was unfortunate and fortunate to have witnessed the firehouse 16 professionals in action three times. Each time, they quickly assessed the scene and got things under control while exuding confidence with a warm, personal, approach. Thank you for watching over us 16!

I had a structural collapse in my apartment. The crew from Engine and Ladder 16 came and assisted to resolve the issue. The firemen at the Charlotte Fire Department station 16 are class individuals ! !

Can't thank 16 enough! They helped me through the worst day of my life with heart issues.
