Wonderful physician! I've been with Dr. Shum for the past few years, and am incredibly grateful to have found him. I've always appreciated how efficient, thorough and kind Dr. Shum is. I'm a physician myself and am so impressed with how he takes the time to make sure my questions are answered and to better understand my health concerns. He's also AMAZING with communication - easy to access by email, promptly replies to appointment requests and lab results, and follows up with my specialists. Truly a gem of a doctor, and incredibly smart too! Office space isn't the prettiest, but I feel like my health is in capable hands. For that, I am incredibly grateful.

I liked going to Dr Shum until he ordered a bunch of lab tests that i did not request (i requested routine tests) to a lab not under my insurance, told me he would take care of the nearly $300 bill that came, and then never took care of it after months of followups. I ended up paying so I wouldn't go into collections. Not cool - don't trust it. $300 is a lot of money so tests shouldn’t be sent to labs that are not in network, regardless of the deductible. it is the first time ive had to do that for routine yearly exams

Dr Shum has been our family physician since I’ve moved to Manhattan. He is incredibly reliable and knowledgeable. I also appreciate when you make an appointment the wait time is great unlike other offices that keep you there for hours. Dr Shum is personable and easy to talk and explains things in a way you can understand. I highly recommend him to my family and friends.

I've never been kept in the waiting room more than 5 minutes, his staff is courteous and efficient, and Dr. Shum is the best. He's the first doctor I've had who really listens and takes my concerns seriously. He really makes patients feel like a priority and he gets test results to me and prescriptions sent to my pharmacy asap. Such a nice man!

Dr Shum is wonderful. He is my primary care physician and the PCP for many of my family members. We have found him to be a great doctor in addition to being accessible and responsive. When he performs annual physicals, he is smart, thorough and insightful.
