What a pleasant surprise! Tennessee has not been great for Japanese food, until today. I came for lunch and ordered the Steak Bento Box. It comes with rice, fried gyoza, 4pc California Roll, and perfectly cooked and tender steak. ..also soup (I got Hot and Sour) and a salad with amazing dressing. I also ordered Inari which has been hard to find in TN. Service was excellent. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. Food presentation is beautiful and appetizing. I don't understand how this place wasn't absolutely packed. I don't love near here but will be maiming the trip again when my husband can be here. All of this for $16.61, before tip!!! I'm ridiculously full in a good way. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience.

What an amazing Japanese restaurant. This restaurant is so refreshing--typical Hibachi food but without all of the noise and distractions that come with a chef cooking right in front of you. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it's nice to get some of the best Hibachi cooked food and be able to have a conversation with your family. The food is AMAZING!! They have the typical hibachi-cooked fare, but they also have a great sushi bar and great tempura-cooked bento boxes. You will not be disappointed and the cost is about average with most Japanese restaurants. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is very friendly, warm, and attentive to the tables.

I would say that this place is honestly just okay. Its not insultingly bad but I have had far better sushi for around the same price. Seems like a low standard for sushi in the area allows this place to suffice with the people who frequent this places expectations. Sushi was fine but almost had an ashtray like after taste. The food kinda sucked the first time I went and I was in the vicinity. Honestly I was going to the gym and had this address punched in not knowing it was a place I had already been and strongly disliked.

I found this place on Groupon and im so glad I did! The atmosphere was very romantic/laid back. The service was great. The food was so delicious. I'll definitely be back. I got the chicken lettuce wraps for the appetizer and the chicken bento box.

We love this place! We call it $20 sushi because somehow you manage to get so much food for not a lot of money. Same sweet ladies are always working. Glad we found this place so we don't have to go to the busy parts of town for a good sushi night.

What a gem! We received the best service here, and the sushi and hibachi were delicious! The scallops were large and not overcooked, and you get plenty of food on the lunch specials. The sashimi was fresh, I can’t remember the name of the roll we had, but it was so freaking good! I will definitely return here, the prices are so fair for the amount of good food you receive.

The leaves in my salad were brown and wilted in addition to the vegetable pad thai having wilted green leaves. I’m not going to eat any of it because I don’t want to get sick. I ordered a vegetable sushi roll and they gave me fried pork spring rolls. The only redeeming part was the yum-yum sauce for the salad.

The service was great, the waitress was very attentive. The egg rolls, soup, salad, vegetables, and steak were all amazing, The chicken honestly was a little weird for some reason, but it still tasted alright so I’ll still give 5 stars considering how good the rest of it was.

I ordered to go. The crab Rangoon was soggy. I also ordered the wonton egg drop soup. It only came with two wontons and the broth tasted like dirty dish water. I do not recommend this place.

I love coming here, it’s so hard to find a good sushi & hibachi spot in the Percy/ Hermitage area and this place is a gem ! Food is always great, friendly service and I love how relaxed/ quiet the atmosphere is. I usually get the hibachi

Ate at Chikuyo Tei for the first time last night. The food there is so delicious! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff is very nice. Will definitely be back for their sushi next time I'm in town!
