This is the best cheap Chinese takeout joint in this part of town. There's better Chinese food in Nashville, but at this price point, you're going to get inexpensive standard American-Chinese fare: sticky sauces on fried bits of meat, and bulk noodles loaded with chopped veggies. The meat bits are tasty and the veggies fresh, which is all you're looking for. There are some standouts: the wings and soups are excellent. There are some bummers: the dumplings are pretty lousy. As for the rest, it is stock standard American-Chinese food delivered quickly by happy delivery drivers, or eaten at a few laminate booths that scream "we're a delivery place, not a sit down restaurant." They remember and treat their regulars well, with not only free items now and then, but also a gift around New Year. I've had bad Chinese take out, and paid more for great Chinese food -- this is good Chinese take out, and most of the menu is a solid experience. Not fine dining, but easy to enjoy for what it is.

I placed an order yesterday evening (12/12/2014) at approximately 5:30 PM for delivery. Since this is a high volume order / delivery time on a Friday I didn't think much about it when I hadn't gotten my food an hour later. I finally received a call around 6:45 PM with them letting me know that my food was ready. I said that's great, I ordered it delivery. They said no, the system says take out. We discussed this a moment to have them "confirm my address", only to say "We don't deliver there" and then hung up. Not only did I not get my food, their system also allows for you to place delivery orders to areas "they don't deliver". This would not have been a big deal had they called me within 10 - 15 minutes to let me know, instead of making me wait an hour and fifteen minutes hungry. I will be calling my bank today to ensure that the charges are removed as I did not receive what I paid for, and I will never again eat / order from them.

Always fresh and when i order my family delivery. Good price for quality and quantity. awesome crab rangoon and sweet tea plus free delivery everything we have ordered from here always yummyhot and delicious and I have a pretty wide delivery area in Nashville! Personally I've only order delivery but I've never been disappointed and usually they say up to 45 minutes but they usually arrive prior to that and the food is always just been super delicious full of flavor nothing ever dry and nothing missing! If ever you encounter a problem the management people there are very very nice and friendly so if ever a problem don't hesitate to call them !! IF you are in the Nashville area you must try this place you'll love itmy fave place for delivery and takeout Chinese in Nashville

Im sick and craving home cooked canto food but unfortunately everything was closed by the time I was done with my exam. This place actually has their own delivery service which delivered immediately like literally 15 min after I paid I had food (I live like 5 min away). So call in instead of ubering it if you can! This is obviously localized Chinese food and not super authentic but omg it was so good. The soup hit that perfect craving spot and soothed my sore throat. The triple delight was so fresh and flavorful with the fluffy jasmine rice. The steamed dumplings (ate them all before I took a pic oops) were okay but the homemade sauce that came with it goes hard. Also portions are huge. I took like a third of the food and gave the rest to my roommates. Will def be ordering again!

Seating is still restricted / reduced to 8, using the COVID protocol, so best to pick up. The front of the restaurant is filthy! Needs to be serviced immediately! We ate at one of the two tables because we had to. Food: moo goo guypan very bland. Sesame chicken good - hot & crispy - but the three measely bites of broccoli were ice cold! Ice cold!!

We got the Mapo tofu, house special lo mein, and wonton soup. The mapo tofu was really soupy, the tofu was too soft and tasteless, the carrots and peas were undercooked, and the dish didn't have any pork in it. The house special lo mein was too salty and and the flavor was lacking. Also, the appearance of the dish was odd compared to what it should look like. It was much lighter in color than is typical. The wonton soup was alright. The wontons tasted decent and were cooked adequately and had a good amount of filling. The soup itself was unfortunately akin to watered down instant ramen. The white rice, a staple of Chinese cuisine, was awful. Dry, crumbly, and tasted odd. Overall, a disappointing experience.

China Dragon has the same problem as 99% of Chinese restaurants in Middle Tennessee - the food is BLAND. The contents of the dish are perfectly made, such as Kung Pow Chicken, but it doesn't taste like it. You have to add soy sauce, fish sauce, salt & pepper, hot sauce, etc. The problem with adding flavor and spice after it is served is that the depth of flavor is not cooked through the food. So, many of us are eating at Indian restaurants because they cook with all of the spices except hot spices, which they control per order per customer. I wish one of the Chinese restaurants would do this. We will keep looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant. Darn!!

This is our first time eating here we got take out for dinner last night and I half to say it was pretty good. I mean it ain't nothing fancy by all means but it was decent Chinese... We had the mushroom chicken, sweet and sour chicken, sweet and sour pork, and shrimp lomain... It wasn't to bad of a price it was around $28 after taxes decent size meals... Only thing that I didn't really like was I went in and paid and I had to stand there for like 10min to get my change back the lady was just going back and forth and finally gave me my change. But I would probably eat here again if I felt like Chinese...

  • Alex Grimblot

I ordered this off of Uber eats, super excited to fulfill my take out cravings. Unfortunately once the food arrived, it was very hard to put down. I LOVE Chinese take out and am even okay with some lower quality take out as long as it tastes decent and isn’t crazy expensive, but I felt like I wasted my money. The sweet and sour chicken was the only thing palatable. My girlfriends sesame chicken was so salty that she could not eat it. The wonton soup was actually the worst of it. It was so salty it left your tong numb as if you were chugging salt water. Honestly for spending $40+ I would expect WAY more.

  • Wanika martin

I ordered general tso chicken combo it was ok but not hot( heat) and schezun chicken combo. Never in my life have I saw red schezun chicken on top of that it was stinky to me so I couldn’t eat it. I ordered delivery and it gave me one price after I charged it on my card charge me totally different. A $18.50 meal cost me $28.00. ( Money I wasted and still hungry) On a good note the egg roll was great. Learning experience for me sitting at this hospital spending more money for food. Oh and I tried to cancel as soon as I ordered and it wouldn’t allow me too but has a cancel button. I should have known

  • Aumannm

Been eating here for 2+ years now. As far as cheap & quick Chinese food goes, it rocks. My personal favorites are the rangoons, wonton soup, and shrimp with vegetables combo (shrimp, veggies, rice, and an egg roll for less than $8!!) but I have tried lots and been pretty satisfied. It's not gourmet food, or a server-oriented restaurant, it's essentially Chinese takeout (although there are 4-5 tables if you want to sit and eat) so if that's what you are looking for, I would definitely recommend it. I like that you can order online for pick-up or they also deliver, both of which I take advantage of.

  • Tina Martin

this was the worse Chinese food we have ever attempted to eat, we ended up throwing out the entire rest of it after trying it. my soup tasted of used sesame oil, the general Tso was actually Battered sweet and sour chicken Drenched in some reddish substance that had no resemblance to Tso flavor or texture , the garlic beef was also drenched in the same substance with no garlic flavor at all! the beef was also severely overcooked as well as the broccoli in the dish , felt like chewing mush the lo mien we ordered with the combo wasn't even good (how is it possible?) NEVER AGAIN for this place

  • Loretha Summers

I ordered egg drop soup, chicken on a stick, and house fried rice. The soup was good, but it tasted like it had too much grease in it. The chicken on a stick was burnt beyond eating or recognition, and the post mate driver was 30 minutes late delivering. The driver Nikayla said it was due to the food not being ready when she arrived. There were no fortune cookies inside the order & the chopsticks were forgotten as well. By the time the food made it to me it had to be reheated. This was not a pleasing order at all. I gave it 2 stars because the last time I ordered was not this horrible.

  • Taneisha Gordon

The food was disgusting. The fried rice was yellow which is not how fried rice is normally cooked and bland. The chicken also didn't look or taste like chicken. No seasoning whatsoever or anything. Just a horrible place for Chinese food. I went to the store to return the food because I didn't eat it and they told me it's not their fault that I didn't like the food and refused to refund my money. The owner and cashier were rude. Don't waste your money or time here. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!

  • Robert Garrett

I've been ordering here for years and never had a issue, I always order seven star around moon which has just about everything in it never once had undercooked or burnt anything so all these bad reviews....well may be your chance of ordering at a peak time when they have 9000 things going on at once. I happen too work as a cook and to no one that has there are rules to follow Rule 1: Dont piss off the people that mess with your food. Rule 2: Tip.

  • Christopher Carter

I ordered the szechuan style bean curd and veg spring rolls. The bean curd was totally uncooked and the sauce was gross. The spring rolls were over fried and super tiny, like smaller than my fingers. Little kids took my order and did my transaction. It be cool if they properly cooked the food and had professional adults manning the register. $12 wasted. 0 stars.

Ordered general tso chicken combo.... I got yellow rice with no seasonings not anything just dry as could be. The chicken had hard chunks in it and was dry as well. After calling the place and asking for a refund I was told he would take back the food but not refund my money.... Thanks pal... Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. I won't be a victim of this horrible service nor food again. I hope this review is helpful.

  • Luna Chen

Worst Chinese food I ever have. Everything was overly sweet and flavored badly and with weird colors. We couldn't finish the dishes and the best part of the meal is the plain white rice. This compared to Panda Express is like panda express compared to authentic Chinese food. Store is dirty and everything is sticky. Not a pleasant experience to eat there

If you are staying within a block or two I suppose it's not the worst option if you want quick Chinese. But, if you can Lyft/Uber elsewhere...do it. It's really not that impressive. I know most Chinese restaurants are pretty bare inside but this one is bottom of the barrel. It was a warm August day and they were just using two large fans (no a/c). Staff was friendly but there are certainly better options in Nashville.

  • Aleksander Lucy

This place is fantastic!! It has instantly become one of my favorite places in Nashville to eat. I have the benefit of being close by making it convenient but the love truly comes from the value. The food (which is quite tasty) comes in great large portion sizes for a low price and I routinely turn 1 order into 2-3 meals. I have never ordered the same thing twice and have never been disappointed! Highly recommend!

Me and my husband was on our anniversary weekend we was looking for a Chinese to take back to the hotel we get back to the hotel get ready to eat the food had a very bad taste it was dry the orange chicken with super dry and the rice was dry and the chicken was in the rice was slimy we threw all of it away I will not and would not recommend no one to eat here

Pretty good. I ordered thru DoorDash & it was piping hot & fresh when it arrived at my hotel room. The Pu Pu Platter was nothing to brag about, but the egg roll, crab rangoon, shrimp & broccoli, & shrimp fried rice were really good. I’d recommend those items. Cant attest to the customer service as I didn’t actually deal with the restaurant, but the food will hit the spot if you’re craving Chinese.

  • Alexandra Lindgren

Worst quality of Chinese food I have ever had. Manager was irresponsible, immature, and incapable of understanding main points in arguments. Don't waste your money here, you'll just end up throwing it away on fake rice, soggy crab rangoon, and jello soup. The managers response to my issues with the quality of food were, "There's nothing I can do for you, sorry. Bye." Never ever coming back.

  • Terrance Ray Trybus

The delivery was fast, my food arrived before the time promised. Pleasantly surprised with that service. Vegetable lo mein was very good. General Tso chicken was okay and the wonton soup was flavorful, perhaps a little over cooked. All in all I'm glad they were opened and delivered food that late at night.

Food was delivered and was not fresh. General Tso's chicken tasted hours old and crab rangoons appetizer tasted liked it was cook during morning and served at dinner. Would not recommend this place if they would send unfresh food out for delivery that tasted a day old. Will not order from here again. Maybe it would have been better if I clarified that everything be cooked fresh.

  • Stephen Smith

6/12/22 ordered from this place staying in hospital inn at st Thomas west and I ordered at this place once before and it was good and it was good this time but half the order was wrong. When you get chicken instead of seafood there is a price difference the receipt was right but the food was not and it was delivered to me, so disappointed so try to hire a cook that can read..

  • Ragnar

The food is greasy and quick and the hours are pretty good... but I’d love it if someone could explain to me why every time I go into the restaurant there’s some random white guy either yelling at the staff, taking cash out of the till, or trying to tell them how to make “the chicken with the bread and the orange color sauce” (he was trying to say sweet and sour chicken)???

  • Joshua Williams

It's edible. It's the best bad chineese I've ever had. The egg rolls were awesome but miniature. The pork lo mein didn't taste bad and yet not right. Maybe light on oyster sause, IDK. I'm sure the umami flavor was missing. Soy couldn't help. Also my fortune cookie was empty. What does that mean. Is my future vacant?

Been a West Nashville customer since 1999. Before my Neighborhood was popular, no other place would deliver. China Dragon was the exception (delivery person told me later owner’s family lives in my neighborhood). I’ve worked my way around their menu-always hot, well prepared, and friendly delivery. I highly recommend this local restaurant and family.

  • Susan Hanson

This was our go to spot for years but recently we took a break, quality of food and the service seemed to take a turn for the worse. But, decided to give it another try today and was very pleased. Saw some new faces in there, not that the others were bad but the folks today were very pleasant and helpful. The food was delicious, we will be back soon.

  • Stephen Griffin

My wife, son and I had arrived in Nashville late and ordered from China Dragon delivery. They filled our order quickly. The beef and broccoli I ordered was not good at all. A poor cut of beef, barely cooked and tasteless, rubbery and slippery. I could only manage a few bites. My son and wife's meals were slightly better but still not good.

  • Divine Providence

Fantastic expexperie. Staff went above and beyond to make sure that we were satisfied. Even after a complication caused by us, we received a surprise complimentary FAMILY SIZE desert. Now, on to the food. If I could give more stars I would. Everything was fresh, and cooked to perfection. Absolutely delicous. Highly recommended this place.

  • Ruqayyah Evans-EL

My food was bland. My chicken was tasteless, had a lot of fat on it, and wasn't cut to appropriate sizes. My fried rice was very plain, adding say sauce didn't help. The veggies was soggy, they didn't have a crunch like it's supposed to. Last but not least I notice the doughnuts was made with premade dough which is unacceptable

  • Jay Terry

Food was disgusting. Chicken tasted old and was so hard you couldnt get the fork to go through it. I couldnt eat it. Cashier was rude when I went to take it back. She wouldnt come up to the counter to address me. Then she just handed the money back without saying a word to me. This will be my last time going to this place

  • GW C

Chinese takeout/delivery spot with strong wing games. Who knew a chinese restaurant would make the best wings in Nashville. This is the place to call when you are tired after a long day and can't lift a finger to fix yourself something at home or when it's cold as hell outside. Would order from this place again, 12/10.

  • Jackson Markham

Are you looking for chinese food take out? This is your place. Simple yet delicious, they have your food ready in 15 minutes. Never an issue getting someone on the phone, and getting my order correct. No other place take-out in West Nash is as reliable for their promptness and consistently as China Dragon.

  • Taven Royster

The people who work here are supercool. The food is what you would expect, it's great Americanized Chinese food! I will be returning here to do business mostly because the food is good, the prices are GREAT, and most of all, the people who work here are nice and you can tell they appreciate your business.

  • Chris Studer

Ordered from here while on vacation. Food was good and is basically your standard fast food Chinese. There was a mix up on delivery location and it took a little while to get delivered, but the driver was nice and polite when he did show up. I'd eat there again if I was in the mood for fast food Chinese.

  • Arthur Zhang

Average Chinese take out with a reasonable price. Staffs are generally nice and efficient. However, this place looks sketchy with no air conditioning even during the hot days, random manager-like guy just hangin out there and yell at people...plus $3.5 for a powder-made boba tea is so last decade....

By far the worst I have ever had. 3 of the items either had a very weird sause that was not like any other taste I have ever had. Bottom line is that the food was very bad and I couldn't believe their "Fried Rice" was parboil rive that was colored yellow. Even the fried chicken wings were subpar.

  • Myra Justus

The food was awesome. I had beef and broccoli and it tasted just like a local place I have back in Cinci. The friend rice is super yummy (it is yellow, but that's true at a lot of Chinese places). The staff were really friendly. Overall stellar experience. We went on a trip to visit Vanderbilt.

I ordered wings with fried rice and shrimp fried rice and last but not least sesame chicken w fried rice. None of the rice had any flavor and the sesame chicken had no sauce, more like dry rub. The plain wings and sesame chicken were alright at best. 1st experience and last experience for me.

  • Melissa Goodman

Typical american chinese food but good quality for what we wanted. Inside was clean and had a couple booths to eat at. Staff was nice. I didn't notice if there was a restroom for patrons but if there was I imagine it would be clean enough. Tasty roast pork lo mein and sweet and sour chicken.

  • Ed Nichanian

Some of the worst Chinese I have ever had. Everything was over salted. MSG I am sure. The Lobster Fried Rice was actually Crawfish in yellow colored pasty rice. The Lobster sauce was like soup. Big mistake

Absolutely horrible and disgusting. By far the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. Food was slimy, bland and tasted old. I usually don’t post about bad restaurant experiences but this was so bad I felt a duty to save others from disappointment. Order at your own risk.

The food here is horrible. The general tsos chicken had a nasty red sauce that wasn't even spicy. The lo mien was mixed with rice and it made me and all my co workers run to the bathroom. The egg rolls were cold and nasty. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

Good service but not great food at all. Honestly I just don't recommend them all around. It sucks since they are the most convenient for a lot of downtown locations, but honestly choose something else. Especially if you're vegetarian/vegan.

Such a shame they don't deliver anymore. I can't get any of their partnership apps or website to load & some the whole menu is not even on them. && the prices have been going up like every so many months

Ordered the full order of Mongolian beef. I always order it and theyve changed it. Theres practically all green peppers and onion and a few tiny shreds of beef. Really disappointing paying $13 for this.

  • Jimmy Dormire

Food is good but they haven't had air conditioning in 2 years and make their workers suffer in 100 degree heat. Feels like Vietnam.... I'm very surprised health department doesn't shut them down.

  • Lorne Jaques

China Dragon is fine. The best way to understand it is this: they had offbrand fortune cookies, and they were okay but by no means good. That pretty much summarizes the whole dining experience.

  • Jamie

Omg, I go to Nashville all the time and the egg role is SOOO good. Best egg role in town .The orange chicken is the bomb . This is my second most favorite place to eat . Starbucks the best

  • Eleanor

I don't know how they stay in business. Ordered spicy garlic chicken, and it was bland. A few pieces of broccoli and a a carrot or two. No flavor. Save your money. Krystal would be better.

  • Mark Geib

It is exactly what it looks like, a good quality and friendly Chinese restaurant. Service is always quick and quality the same each time. Nothing fancy but good at what they do.

  • Walker Clayton

Terrible. The chicken is literally the color red. It was so bland I couldn’t even eat it. My mother and father also couldn’t finish their meal. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!

  • Claudia Martinez

I ordered the chef’s special seafood delight and feel like my food did not have adequate flavor and did not hardly have any shrimp and no scallops. Only mostly fake crab meat.

  • Sierra Kiss

Got sesame chicken and the flavor was good, but I wasn’t thrilled with the quality. Veggie lo mien has a ton of veggies in it. Egg rolls and chicken and broccoli were good.

  • Keith Arnold

  • Lari Chen

general gao’s chicken tasted bad, too much flour coating on the outside, and it was not crunchy at all. Feels like I’m eating some sweet and sour fried dough.

Wow. Absolutely great! I am very picky with Chinese restaurants and this was superb. Don't let the location fool you. If you love Chinese food this is a must.

Bad...very bad. Stingy with there money and won't allow a refund after driving away from store. Lo mein was flavorless and suaceless.

Used to be great. They no longer sell bubble tea, and the General Tso's chicken is disgusting- tastes like corn syrup over breaded boneless wings. 0 flavor.

Ordered 4 dishes for take out; all tasted the same, very sweet, no flavor...terrible. Plain rice was the only good thing!!
