Chowdiah Memorial Hall

One of Bangalore's most iconic buildings, built in the shape of a violin in memory of the legendary violinist Chowdaiah. Ideal to host stage performances of all types- stage plays, orchestras, classical, symphonies, magic shows etc. Parking inside the hall is very inadequate but there is plenty of parking on the adjacent roads. Good sound system, but sound is not equally distributed as most of the speakers are in the front beside the stage. It's a very large hall, which means the audience sitting at the back rows have a distant view of the stage. There is open space in the front to host outdoor events such as food stalls, a small gallery inside which can hold small shops like a flea market.

Completely user unfriendly construction, and owned by people who don't care. If the doors to the hall are closed, and you are stepping out ..there is no way to know that there is a step immediately outside. And if you didn't know, you will end up stepping in air and either fall down or twist your ankle. Happened to me, and to two other people in the next five minutes Impossible that the owners don't know. But they don't car to even put up a sign at the door, inside. Even otherwise, this is a hall from stone age, with primitive sound

One of the Well managed Auditorium in Malleswaram for Cultural, Traditional, Music, Plays and Concerts. The building architecture is quite attractive. auditorium stage is quite big and having seating capacity of 500+ with proper lightning and air conditioning. We attended a beautiful mesmerizing musical journey and vibrant traditions of Indian classical music Vasantosav 2023 by Shri.Rahul Deshpande here. It was a pleasant experience. Parking space available Also Restrooms well maintained.

VLS International School's annual day celebration was conducted here in Chowdaiah Memorial Hall wherein my daughter studies in this School and performed her dance. The hall has a moderate parking space and inside the auditorium approximately 500 peoples can be accommodated with recliner chairs, the lightings and sound arrangement are extraordinary. Has emergency exits on both sides of the settings. Well maintained restrooms. Overall a nice destination for conducting cultural programs.

It's big memorial hall near Malleswaram. Memorial hall building architecture is main attraction. Memorial hall stage is quite big and having around 500+ seating available. Memorial hall having air conditioning. So many functions performed & suitable for school annual day and musical functions and for other purposes. Small hotel is available inside the memorial hall. Parking space available around the memorial hall. Restrooms are available and well maintained.

Well managed traditional conventional hall, best part hygiene toilets with sufficient quantity, decent size parking and sitting capacity. The management is friendly and cooperative with visitors and organizers. The hall is worthy, affordable for school, music, cultural and public events. Lack of trees makes the space very bright and sunny, there is no food court and sufficient sitout areas for visitors, they don't even get drinking water bottle here.

Location is easily recognisable. Environment is cool and neatly maintained, well constructed auditorium. A vast place for praking only car is available. A large hall for live concerts and cultural programs, any program based with indoor events is done here. And mostly of all, restrooms are maintained good. Sitting Seats inside the auditorium are very old, feels little uncomfortable for seating. Eatables are not allowed inside the auditorium.

A very good place for events and small seminars. The stage is good and the chairs are oriented in such a way that all can have a good look at the stage clearly. My son had his stage performance here, enjoyed the moments spent here . Some observations to mind here. Parking is congested, the road is super thin so mind your car movements. And m max of 900 seats to plan the events accordingly. Thanks for reading.

This is a great place for concerts and live shows of all kinds be it music, comic or theatre. The ambience and staff are very supportive. There is ample parking and all of this adds to a great experience. This is a 900+ seater and is shaped in the shape of a guitar/violin. The canteen has great samosa, and the washrooms are always clean. One of the oldest auditoriums of Bangalore. This is a great auditorium.

Very beautiful place and you can spend time there peacefully. In general, cultural and music related events are held here. The good thing is that all the people who come here are well versed in their field and you will have a good feeling, your interest for art will increase. Food items are a bit expensive here, so it would be better if you take a little from your home.

A spacious, modern and well furnished auditorium dedicated to Karnataka's violin virtuoso late Dr. Chowdaiah, with a capacity to seat over a thousand audience, with good acoustics & ambience. An upscale cultural centre facilitating many concerts - music, dance and other cultural arts. The location also is very cosy but conveniently well connected by public transit.

Architecture of this building is the highlight. It's built in the shape of a violin!! The auditorium is huge, probably more than 500 people can sit here. The seats were comfortable. The lighting and sound everything was perfect like how its meant to be. If u get a chance to attend a show in this memorial hall dont miss it!

The auditorium is really nice, the ac and sound system too work quite well. Has a old charm to it. The biggest draw back for me are the seats and washrooms. If the two get maintained better this auditorium will be amazing!!! The auditorium can be booked for theater performances, functions, dance and musical programs etc.

This place has an old world charm. Went their to watch a musical drama, first for me, and totally enjoyed myself. Located on the main road, this place is easy to spot and one can keep abreast with different things happening here. Only con was the state of toilets there, which can be decent with a tad bit of maintenance.

A indoor auditorium shaped in the shape of a violin that gives you the feeling that you are in 1980s. It's spacious, sound system and the air conditioning is really good. In my view the place needs new and updated interior and exterior lighting design with interior art installations. …

Chowdiah Memorial Hall is A Hall with 1000plus seating capacity and 35 plus car parking area. Nice seating’s, Corridor all along the hall, well maintained rest rooms gents and ladies. Hall nicely designed like piano on the outer view. Two huge Gates on the opposite directions.

A good place for Concerts for an audience of nearly 1k people. Lush greenery well maintained. Parking available. Canteen available which is always closed & not maintained. Needs to be opened as no good eateries available in walkable distance.

ಪಿಟೀಲು ಚೌಡಯ್ಯನವರ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಪಿಟೀಲು ಮಾದರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಡವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ದು ವಿಶೇಷ. ಸಭಾಂಗಣ ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಸುಖಾಸನಗಳು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿವೆ, ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಹವಾನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ವಿರುವದರಿಂದ ವಿಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ಮುದ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ.ಅನೇಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿ ನಾನು ಸಂಭ್ರಮ ಪಟ್ಟಿರುವೆ.

What a place!! Best place for classical music concerts☺️ Good ambiance, music lovers all over! Seats are good, sometimes feel little conjusted! Can occupy not more than 700 people. Very well maintained rest rooms.

ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ಸಭಾಂಗಣ, ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯದ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ತಲೆ ಎತ್ತಿ ನಿಂತಿರುವ ಕಟ್ಟಡ. ನೋಡಲು ಪಿಟೀಲಾಕಾರದ ಸಭಾಂಗಣ. ಪಾರ್ಕಿಂಗ್ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಇದೆ, ದ್ವಿಚಕ್ರ ವಾಹನ ಆವರಣದ ಒಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶವಿಲ್ಲ, ರಸ್ತೆ ಬದಿಯಲ್ಲೊ, ಪುಟ್ಪಾತ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು.

A good hall for parties, concerts , functions and much more. Can accommodate around 600-700 people. A big Parking lot and rest rooms are maintained good, it is near to Malleswaram TTD and sankey road.

Very Neatly Maintained Memorial hall both inside and outside. I had been there to attend an Orchestra and the quality of the seats are okay. And it’s a AC hall. Could see the stage very clearly.

Visited here for PARVA, an 8 hour play based on SL Bhyrappa's novel by the same name. Good theatre with comfortable seats and parking. Watch out for best plays and music shows here.

Excellent venue to watch live performance - spacious hall, cosy seating and crystal clear sound. Food items are not allowed inside. Parking is limited but manageable.

The auditorium is very good but lacks facility to provide break-time snacks and drinks. Also, limited 4 wheeler parking space is a major concern at this venue.

Good auditorium, nice and cool place. But they allow parking inside only for for wheelers and not two wheelers. Is this some kind of prestige difference?

Very nice architecture with full of greenery. No parking problem inside the premises. Superb place to conduct various cultural and educational programs.
