While the organization was very helpful in scheduling and coordinating the ceremony, they were quite demanding and insistent upon being paid, and paid quickly. They were offered a credit card for full payment on the day of the funeral, but they refused to take a credit card at all. In less than 72 hours after the ceremony, we received no less than 3 phone calls asking for immediate payment. Out of respect for services rendered, and their pleas that they need to pay their own bills and staff, we cashed in a portion of a 403B in order to pay them in full within 10 days of ceremony. HOWEVER, it has now been almost 3 months since my mother-in-law's death and we have no death certificates which is holding up selling her home and settling insurance policies. Oklahoma law 65-1-317 (from 2012) states that the death certificate must be filed with the state within 72 hours of the death AND, there has been a electronic filing process (called ROVER) in place since 2014. Very disappointing and disheartening. It's not like there are multiple funeral homes to choose from in this tiny little town. I feel terribly sorry for the folks in Cimarron, Oklahoma who are stuck with this agency.
