I ordered 4 pastries - Sfogliatella (lobster tail), 2x canolis and Ricotta cake and they all went into the trash besides the half eaten cannoli. This place was highly rated so thought I'd give it a go as my partner and I love Italian sweets. This unfortunately did not satisfy our cravings, in fact the Sfogliatella had me gagging. Upon taking that first bite all I could taste was raw egg. It was so horrid. The ricotta cake wasn't good either, it was dense, hard and unappetising. The cannolis though they were average they still weren't great. They had no chocolate chips that usually come with ricotta cannolis, the shell was crunchy but it was burnt or old oil was used. The filling was okay. One thing I will say is I've never seen Italian pastries use cinnamon or this excessive amount of cinnamon. All I could taste is cinnamon, my box was covered in cinnamon. If they were trying to mask the flavour of their pastries it didn't work. I don't know how this place got such high reviews. I'm honestly quite disappointed. Perhaps, they were having an off day today. I don't know. I wouldn't recommend or if you do happen to be around that area get the cannoli, its at least edible. Have a look at the photos and judge for yourselves. 1st photo, all the sweets 2nd photo the lobster tail cut in half to show how thick and clotted the inside was. 3rd photo the shell of the cannoli 4th photo the ricotta cake after my partner and I took a bite and unfortunately spit it out. Have a look at how dense that looks and all around the box is cinnamon. Further, I mean no disrespect to this business, this was my experience with the food, perhaps others had a better experience. Cimini’s is one of those rare family businesses that maintain a standard not often seen in the world these days. Honestly, they have to make one of the best bacon and egg rolls in Sydney and thats not even their main point of expertise! The cakes are divine and the patisserie skills superb, the texture and flavour are perfectly balanced which can only be explained from decades of skill and love being deeply entrenched in the process of making their food. It tastes like my nan made every cake, which is only achieved through love and a superior comprehension of the trade, or maybe there’s a team of Nonna’s out the back I can’t tell! From day one I was greeted warmly and by day three I’d simply walk in, sit down and they would begin my order with nothing other than how are you today. Alas, there must always be a complaint… the cakes are too cheep for the quality they need to ask for more $$ they deserve it “that’s a joke for all the idiots who leave 4 star reviews after saying it’s great”. And to the sooks leaving single star reviews, jog on and get out the other side of the bed next time, this place is night and day in quality and customer service! Thanks guys i love coming to eat at your beautiful family business it’s the only way to start my day!

I was on my way home from work (I am a Chef). really wanting something nice for my own lunch. I have just moved to town. Spotted this wonderful looking pastry counter, with the most appealing contents. So I popped in and saw all the awards on the wall and was met with happy staff and a wonderful smell coming from the pie counter. The pastry on the savoury pies is on point, soft and yet not crumbly, I tried the mince tomato and onion, delicious. For dessert I had the vanilla cannoli... best cannoli I have ever had and trust me, I have had a few. I also took a cherry pie for the next day (didn't last that long) absolutely fabulous. I have to go back, so much more to try, this is my go to now when I need something awesome

First impression : service is friendly and accomodating, food selection is overwhelmingly delectable it’s hard to choose from so many dishes, my choice was mince and cheese pie, cream and jam doughnut and a caramel latte decaf, but I am looking forward to trying something different my next visit. The taste and quality of the food? 10/10, deserving of the 5 star review, the pie was delicate but the pastry didn’t fall apart, wasn’t scortching hot, was perfect, the coffee was amazing be of the best caramel lattes I’ve tasted, the bakery has a ton n of awards so I can highly recommend this local business in kogarah great work at cafe cimini’s I can appreciate quality food here!.

Pastas,rolls and sandwiches all look very good ,always a nice ambience to this small Cafe. I tried the award winning Chunky beef & pepper pie .Very nice & flaky pastry ,the filling was good ,pie was a decent size, but it could do with more a little more chunkier Beef. However you will spoilt by the large selection of pastries ,cakes & pies. A local business definitely worth supporting.

Ciminis pasticceria in Kogarah is the best cake shop in Sydney . I have ordered there dozens of times there cakes are everything you want in a cake sooo delicious fresh as well as there hand made pies and other desserts that are to die for yummmmm. We have been customers since they opened. A gorgeous family run cafe who are always so friendly and always ask how everyone in the family is going. Great coffee, pies and pastries and service with a smile and a chat. Our son turned 6 recently and we had Cimini’s make his birthday cake - he loved it and so did everyone else, so fresh and a delicious chocolate cake for all to enjoy. Thank you! This in my opinion is the best pie shop I've been to, and I've been to many. Their pies are either in mince or chunky beef, plenty of meat and very juicy, sausage rolls have taste and again pastry is great. The variation of cakes is great. As for the service mum and daughter go above and beyond, u are never kept waiting, their attitude is friendly and always smiling, top shop and even nicer people serving, wouldn't go any where else, they are the best.
