"Pros: Clean gym, quiet, friendly staff, towels supplied Cons: Some equipment is very old, some is missing forcing you to use free hand weights instead, there are no private change rooms forcing you to get changed in front of others, there price is not flexible so you are paying to use a pool and gym even if you don't need those facilities, there is no pay by the month option either, there are no extra gimmicks that much cheaper gyms (half the price) do supply - like hair ties, deodorant"

"You simply will not find a better gym in the CBD"
I have been a member of the city club for a number of years. Really appreciate some staff members have been consistently amazing, always go above and beyond. Unfortunately in the recent months I have been victimized by a serial bulling behaviour by two instructors who are also a couple. Due to the overlapping nature of the classes, I was late for the spin class by 15mins after finished a yoga class on a Saturday morning. I discretely walked in the studio and picked up a bike closest to the entrance. Voula, the instructor, dismounted and approached me with disgraceful verbal and body languages to ask me to leave. I was shocked by her approach and left with humiliation. Obviously the incident received all the attention in the class and stunned most members. Adam, the co-worker/Voula’s boyfriend, was also in the class at that time. It was discussed among some members who witnessed the situation and also felt it could be any one of them. I verbally complained to the gym assistant manager and was hoping to receive an apology. Voula approached me afterwards. She was upset as I told the management. She then denied her inappropriate behavior and indicated she had a witness in the class, who assumably would be Adam, her coworker/ boyfriend. On the following day, Adam approached me at the gym. He threatened and harassed me on the floor for quite a few minute despite the fact I declined to have any contacts with him due to fear and humiliation. Adam denied his deeds, claiming he had a friendly conversation with me to prectect HIS STAFF. Sadly the management was not interested in rectifying the issue. It was rather blaming me for bringing this up, changing topics and asking me not to talk about it. My formal letter which I spent hours to write to Ilan Weill, the General Manager at Hyatt was not responded after 28 days. I had to ring up to ask whether it was received. After some lousy interactions with them, it has been withdrawn by the management. The whole situation was fundamentally a management issue, such as lack of respect, lack of code of conduct, full of contradictions and conflicts of interest, exercising hidden rules etc. It's harmful and uncessary. The internal compliant system which is critical for this international hospitality business is broken. My wellbeing and my feelings are not respected and counted by them. When I asked Simon, the room manager, to reveal the footage, he advised me ‘we only have one camera at the cash register.’ I found this statement was rather amusing. How possible it can be a 24-hour gym has no security system in place? Clearly they just have no intention to resolve the issue and assume I have very low intelligence level. No matter how perfect the laws and regulations are, it will only apply to civilized people who are willing to comply. People who have very little respect and low integrity will always find a way. I cannot imagine I would be treated anywhere else so disgracefully but the city club at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne. The horrible memory will follow me for a very long time. Life is not fair. Justice does not always arrive on time. And sometimes justice needs to fight for. Although I am not a big man with a lot of muscles who is also capable of lying and manipulating but I am not afraid to speak up the truth. By making a compliant which potentially was involved with some sensitive and critical issues, the hyatt management made me feel like I am the trouble maker. In fact they should be grateful I'm doing a favor by telling what went wrong. I wonder how suitable this particular gym is to host some international sports events such as the Australian Open. No men is entitled to threaten and harass a woman to satisfy his masculine needs under any circumstances. Ironically the management tolerates and even tried to cover it under the carpet. Anyone who has suffered from a similar situation or who cares about justice should raise the voice and contribute some efforts to stop the unethical behavior. You never know when it will happen to you or someone you care.#metoo
I can't express how grateful I am for my experience with City Club Health and Fitness. I was extremely nervous about getting a gym membership - I have never felt comfortable in gyms, or thought of myself as the sort of person who uses a gym, but I wanted to start moving my body and try to enjoy it. I knew I would be more motivated to go if I went somewhere nice, so I toured a few of the more upmarket gyms in the CBD, but ultimately felt like CCH&F offered the best value for money, didn't have pushy sales reps, and felt like a safe environment. The last three months have been seriously life changing. I LOVE going to the gym - I actively look forward to it, and it is because of the beautiful, safe environment fostered by the kind staff and the super facilities. While travelling for work, I even felt confident enough to go into a run-of-the-mill gym for a casual work out - something I would never have been able to do before due to anxiety. Thank you so much to everyone who made the experience so positive for me, especially Lolita who made every visit feel like a trip to the spa, and Jimmy who signed me up without ever pressuring me. I will definitely renew my membership.
Pros: Clean gym, quiet, friendly staff, towels supplied Cons: Some equipment is very old, some is missing forcing you to use free hand weights instead, there are no private change rooms forcing you to get changed in front of others, there price is not flexible so you are paying to use a pool and gym even if you don't need those facilities, there is no pay by the month option either, there are no extra gimmicks that much cheaper gyms (half the price) do supply - like hair ties, deodorant. I think there needs to be a comparison with other gyms/competition and some serious changes be made in order to keep your members coming back and renewing their membership rather then going elsewhere.
i have just clocked up 12months as a member at “City Club” @ the Grand Hyatt.. i’m a committed gym (almost daily) goer and i must say after trying several other gyms in the CBD i have finally found the one.. fully equipped for a serious workout, unlike any other hotel gym i’ve been to, yet offering all the hotel luxury amenities, including complimentary towels tea and coffee!!! the staff and management are friendly professional and always there to help. it’s never an effort... thank you guys for making me feel so welcomed and appreciated.. Stavros
You simply will not find a better gym in the CBD. If you prefer bare concrete and wall to wall chalk dust then look elsewhere, however for a wide selection of Life Fitness and Hammer Strength equipment (My inner engineer never ceases to be amazed at the quality of Hammer Strength kit), a professional rubber floor, filtered water fountains and excellent change rooms and showers, look no further. The available private PT's are also very dedicated, experienced and skilled.
I needed to use the sauna after an intensive personal training session offsite. The steamroom was under maintenance and the sauna was switched off. The showers were either boiling hot or freezing cold - nothing seemingly in between. I paid $25 entry and after alerting reception to my disappointment, she casually wrote down my complaints on a post-it note, blamed everyone and no refund. I would avoid in the future.
Very friendly staff, platinum membership is more than worth it with somewhere to store your shoes and no need to carry round gym clothes all day. Cheaper than virgin for better service and they are not stingy with towels. Steam room and sauna are great as they’re in the changing room. Spa could be a bit better as it’s a bit weak at the moment but that’s a minor thing.
The best training area in Melbourne with new modern equipment and friendly staff. The mens changing rooms are filthy and the showers and steamroom are never cleaned. LEECHES are often found in the showers which are never ever sanitised. The pool area is 1990's era and chlorinated.
I find gyms quite intimidating, but the staff here have made me feel very comfortable. It has everything I need and a wealth of knowledge from the trainers. Proximity to work is an extra bonus.
Great gym with fantastic facilities and helpful, friendly staff. A terrific range of classes with experienced instructors who constructively encourage you to improve your health and fitness!
A great gym with good facilities and friendly staff. The instructors are fantastic and provide expert guidance to ensure your fitness needs are covered. Very conveniently located in the cbd.
Alright gym, expensive for single use. Pool is quite small and shared with hotel guests. Tell people in the gym to stop using two machines at once. Pretty basic gym etiquette.
My husband workout here whilst we stayed at the hotel. He was delighted with the quality of the treadmills and other equipment. Made a significant difference to his workouts.
Richard and Joel are talking through their hats. I've been a regular for twenty years and two locations. It's a shame their ratings are allowed to influence the total
Not too bad. Some spaces are too dark. I didn’t like the water conservation signs in the showers. Can’t we use the showers without another environmental lecture?
A nice gym with nice staff in a luxury hotel but the showers and change rooms would constitute strange and unusual punishment in a gulag ablution block.
Very clean gym with a decent amount of equipment. It has an indoor pool and outdoor basketball half court, full tennis court and golf cages.
One of the best places to exercise & relax in the city. Always clean & amazing support staff. Super friendly and always their in need.
Clean, friendly, well equipped. Best gym l have ever been a member of in 20 years! Love this place. Highly recommended.
The best gym in Melbourne. It takes up a floor of The Grand Hyatt Hotel.it includes a pool and spa as well as saunas.
I enjoy coming here in my lunch breaks. Convenient location but not cheap for a casual rate.
很少见到酒店的健身中心这么大,并且为会员免费提供towels 。有三档会员级别6to6:$66 per month,Gold:$120,Platinum: $175
