Summary: Waited 30 mins for a $165 individual tax refund with shares for unprofessional accountant. Waited 30 mins for a scheduled meeting. Didn't acknowledge me waiting at all. I had a capital gains tax and income/dividend report generated by sharesight. For the dividends/trust income section, she entered 'Sharesight' as the trust that provided the distributions. Not the individual trusts or the related shares. Just sharesight, the software that helps keep track of your shares. She provided no useful tax information that you can't simply read up on and have tools like sharesight can provide. Wouldn't recommend at all. During the 30 mins of her looking at the reports and tax deductions. Attached invoice as proof of using their service.

I've used Elina a few times in the past, and although she's rude, she seemed to know what she's doing. This year, I hired her to do my taxes and my fiancees taxes, for an over the phone appointment. She took my money, but did not complete my fiancee's taxes, and won't respond to emails or phone calls. Update - I see Elina replied and said she was waiting for us to get her information. This is a lie. She had everything she needed for weeks, and ignored our calls and emails. She finally did what we had paid her to do, but not until we set up a second meeting. It was ridiculously unprofessional behaviour, and insulting - especially considering I sent at least 5-6 other people to her.

I wanted to change accountants and after seeing several positive reviews, thought I'd give City Tax Accountants a try. I found them extremely helpful and easy to work with. My personal contact Elina was very friendly and professional, helping me to lodge my personal tax assessment, working with me step by step and showing me which deductions I can claim wherever possible. The fee is quite reasonable (I find cheaper accounting firms don't bring you nearly as much return as there is far less care involved, and the fee is deductible from next year's return anyway), and the assessment was lodged in a timely manner. All this with a convenient CBD location. Highly recommend!

I am changing my review from initial one star to five star after City Tax accountants reached back to me to ensure they are ready to review my files again and they even came out with one extra findings which was completely missed by me during the initial catch up with Elina. I do believe that their rates are fairly priced and they do provide extra level of service for what they are charging for. I definitely feel confident and comfortable in reaching out to them for my next year tax return as well. Elina in particular made sure that she triple reviewed my files and my statements to ensure we are filing the right return to ATO. Thanks for all your support, Elina

Incompetent and Unprofessional! If I could give zero stars I would. Don't fall into the trap and believe the 5 star reviews, we did and now we are paying the price! Elina simply wants your money!! Once the ATO contacts you about a tax return that she submitted, she does not respond to calls and emails. My email was sent 9 days ago! Once you pay her she doesn't care. My wife and I submitted a very standard tax return with Elina, her incompetence caused us problems and payments to the ATO. Avoid at all costs! ZERO STARS! Don't take the risk!

This year I've delegated Elina from City Tax Accountants to lodge my tax return which was extremely complicated for me. This lady I worked with was very professional and informative. She made sure that I was satisfied at the end of the transaction. Elina ensured my return was deposited directly into my account rather than having to wait for a check. My experience was very pleasant with City Tax Accountants. Elina was very friendly and made the experience enjoyable and easy. The service was top notch, I called on a Tuesday and had a meeting for the very next day where I was greeted on-time and shown to an office where within a half and hour I had my tax return completed for the 3 previous years. I would recommend City Tax Accountants to anyone.

I had 2 tax returns to complete and City Tax made the process very easy for me to lodge them in a quick and timely manner. I had my appointment over the phone and Elina guided me through the process in a way that I could understand, for someone who is new and not familiar with the Australian tax return system.
