I have been a loyal customer to this company for a long time and I have actually never done a review before. I have a nissan xtrail and had a problem with my engine management light. I took it to Claremonts at Welling expecting a good service, but what I received was disgraceful. I thought it would be a dpf problem which I have had before as its diesel and was hoping it would be a simple regen costing £75. Car went in and they said the dpf needs to come out and be chemically cleaned which I agreed to costing £1400. Not a cheap fix. The receptionist said its all working correctly and no issues. I was without my car for a week while repairs were done. I picked my car up and firstly noticed how compartments and plastic trim had been removed and not put back. But did that myself just grateful to get my car back and sorted. When I came home I noticed the front of my bonnet did not look like it was closed properly further investigation opening the bonnet i could see the trim on the n/s wing was loose and actually my n/s wing had been squashed down by about 5mm causing the bonnet and wing to mis align looking un sightly also there was a few bolts which had not been tightend in the engine bay only finger tight. I phoned them about my issues and bodywork damage which I would of noticed if the car had not been parked tightly facing the fence and parked cars next to it. They told me to bring it back for them to sort it being very apologetic. How they could return my car to me like that after I've owned it from 8 months old is beyond me. After this nightmare I was just happy to have my car back About five days after I had eng management light back on. I refused to take it back to Clarmonts after what happend. I Had to wait 3 weeks for nissan eltham to look at it. They sent me a video of the brackets underneath which were loose. Dpf is knackerd and is going to cost me another £3040 for new one on top. So spent nearly £4500 not happy. Myself and family won't be using again.

I took my 14 year old Peugeot 206 to the Welling branch of Claremont Motors because I thought my gearbox and clutch were faulty. I left the car there and was given a quote to get it fixed of £469.72 + VAT the next day over the phone. I went back to pick up the car to say that I was unable to afford it but was surprised to be told that I would have to pay £66.00 for diagnostics, which I did to get my car back. The only diagnostics description contained on the bill was exactly what I had told them and I found no sign that the car was even examined. I paid up and took it to another garage a few hundred meters away where they tested the car thoroughly in my presence and told me there was nothing wrong with either the clutch or gearbox which according to them were in perfect working order. They did not charge me a penny for this. I have been driving the car ever since (almost two months now) with no problems whatsoever. Looking back I suspect my foot may have slipped from the clutch at the time and I erroneously thought there was a problem, when in fact there was none. I wrote twice using their online email to contact Claremont Motors requesting an explanation and/or refund but have heard nothing from them. It appears I now have no choice but to pursue legal action as bring this matter to the attention of Bexley Trading Standards. I have spent this extra time logging this feedback on the web as a service to other motorists who might be considering using this garage. As you can see from the above, there are good professional and honest mechanics too and I am glad to have now found one.

Used a lot of garages for servicing, MOTs and repairs over the years and all been reasonably similar but I have have been so impressed with Claremont Motor Engineers in Welling that felt compelled to leave a review. The garage was recommended to me for a recent repair (broken rear coil springs). I was quoted crazy repair repair prices and repair times by Kwikfit, Ford and other local garages. Kwikfit were over three times the price and the Ford main dealer quote was almost five times more expensive than Claremont. Claremont quoted a really reasonable price, a fast repair slot and the entire process was straightforward and excellent. Jason and Dax were both great, giving me excellent information about what was needed to be done and great advice. Jason and Dax explained the details behind the price including the price of the parts, the expected duration of the job and the very reasonable labour rate, putting my mind at rest that the cheapest repair quote was also the most expert and they were a garage who knew exactly what needed to be done and how to fix the problem at the right price and with the right care and attention. If you want an honest, genuine, friendly and expert garage to repair your vehicle then I would highly recommend you get Claremont Motor Engineers to give you a quote and their advice. You get a brilliant customer experience, a great price, value for money and the satisfaction of knowing you’re getting a quality expert repair.

Avoid at all cost. If you you dont like hearing a lot of swearing DONT come here. As soon as i went in on Monday for an mot i felt like they were not trustworthy. No interaction with me face to face , i was just shouted at from behind a dirty wall and guessed they were talking to me. Loads of f- ing and blinding came from behind this wall as they were talking to each other. I didnt here a single phone call , out of the 4 they made,saying a car had passed its mot while i was waiting to pay and such an awful phone manner. I was in the motor trade for 25 years and never had i dealt with such ignorant people. He even seemed to enjoy it when he told me my car had failed . When i told him i was taking the car else were for the work he looked gutted and threw the keys at me. Most mot stations do a free retest!. NOT this one. Yes there is a charge. There mot price is£29.95, but i bet no one has ever has just paid that . Rather than go back i am paying for a full mot elsewere . AVOID AT ALL COST. If the place had a mystery shop it would score zero. Advice to the manager, Smile it doesnt hurt i promise.ps i am taking car to another mot station to check what they said failed has, i just didnt trust them.UPDATE JUST TOOK CAR TO THE MAIN DEALER AND SAID WHAT CLAREMONT FAILED CAR ON WAS NOT A FAIL AND CAR HAS PASSED WITH NOT EVEN AN ADVISORY THINKING NOW ABOUT GOING TRADING STANDARDS.

DANGER! Rogue traders! Do NOT take your car here! MOT'd my sisters car and failed it on a suspension component. Wanted over £400 to rectify. Told them no thanks, collected car and took elsewhere to be inspected. Advised new garage of MOT fail and what it had been failed on. Two MOT testers at new garage inspected car paying particular attention to the supposed 'MOT failure' component. Nothing whatsoever wrong with it, not even an advisory. Flew through the MOT. Also, the price they wanted for what was completely unnecessary work was way too high. Conclusion - they failed the car when there was nothing wrong with it and tried to charge a very high amount for doing unnessesary work because they know people need the car and they have you over a barrel. Backfired for them this time though. Ha. Went back and confronted the bloke, explained what had happened and refused to acknowledge and refused to refund MOT test fee. Dishonest and unscrupulous. Avoid.

I book the platinum service at nearly £300 ,advertisement is wrong they don't do everything they advertise hence the 1 star as I believe I booked my car in because of all the services provided ,washing the car ,vacuum foot hole ,clean upper bay engine ,advertised not done ,reason ....hum..hosepipe ban ...clearly not true or correct reason so I feel like the rest of the service has been neglected the same way i will not return and I will ensure my friends that are going there and recommended the garage will no longer use it .I hate paying for things I don't get .annoying and just plain wrong.why they need to lie that is beyond me ,so definitely not a trustworthy garage ,in every angle of the term ! Service done 08/08/2022 If you use it ,cross your fingers they might do what they advertise but I doubt to be honest even the sprinkler for the wipers were not aligned properly and still aren't .

Bottom-feeders. If you have ever come accross incompetent failed venture capitalists who do not realise that customers pay for their beer and rent, these are the ones . My car was brought in by my Motor warranty. The guys don't speak straight, make up stories and see you as a nuesence. They did not even open the bonnet, took easy crumbs from my warranty company plugged a non specialist equipment and told me there was nothing wrong. I picked up my car with a wires hanging over my break pedal. The car showed the same error after 30 minutes. Their advise was to ride with an error and leave the engine running for few days with an error till i get an other booking. Today I took my car to a real mechanic who identified an error by using his experience and proper tools within 40 minute . Claremont garage has no proper equipment nor experience despite their claims. A lot of ambition though.

I called this garage to book my car in to be looked at under warranty from a third party warranty cover. They were an approved garage on the warranty list. They were very arrogant on the phone during the booking process and just didn't seem to want to help . I was told information on the phone that when I arrived was completely untrue. I couldn't help get the feeling that they would at some point rip me off too. They seemed more interested in telling me of all the possible charges and didn't fill me with confidence that they had the customers best interest in mind. The attitude of the owner was appalling too. Think he needs a lesson in customer service. He just didn't seem to care. I will never return to this garage unfortunately. It's a shame , as there are really good car garages out there and this in my opinion isn't one.

Quoted us £250 more than needed on a M.O.T. Said things were mechanically broke that wasn't. Even said if I pull the car out for a second opinion I'd be driving with no MOT which wasn't the case at all as I still had a few weeks left on the current mot and when checking on DVLA website I definitely still had a valid MOT. Be careful Claremont customers if your unsure get a 2nd opinion it saved me £250.. the guy was quite polite on the phone regarding the complaint but accepted no liability and said" every mechanics is different and have different standards, and ours are probably higher than theirs". I think that's a cheap dig at a decent reliable local garage for being honest with their customer and without them realising exposing the truth about your 'standards of practice'. Which brings me here...

Asked for a new Clutch and Driveshaft. Quoted 360 for clutch and didn't get a price for the driveshaft. Ended up talking to my mother and charged me over £700. My electrics have been fu**** since I've had it back. Hardly drove it since and as I've been back on the road I've noticed a weird sound. Took it to my normal mechanic and they ended up not doing my hub nut up properly which has ruined the driveshaft they put on and ruined the hub itself. I was with my mechanic as he looked and the wheel was seriously wobbly and the hub nut was so lose we took it off by hand. From the reviews i saw and the feedback i got from them i thought they would be good however I do not recommend at all. They also tried charging me to look at it again :)

Can't help feeling that people who haven't had the best of service are the only ones commenting. I took the car in for an MOT and it failed as the rear fog light wasn't working. It wasn't the bulb (which wasn't easy to determine) and as I had appointments booked, arranged to return the following day. The fault was traced to a break in a wire, repaired and the car re-tested. Whilst I was waiting on day one I had the opportunity to chat to several other customers, all who seemed to be regulars and happy with the service. Would have given them 5 stars had their communication been better but I had to ring to get an update only to find the car was ready for collection.

I have been using Claremont motors Welling for several years, they have provided an excellent service, staff are very knowledgable and friendly. I do recommend this garage to all my friends and colleagues as they have served me well in the past and hopefully in the future too. I have rated them five stars because they have never let me down, no matter how small or large the job is. The above review was written 4yrs ago and nothing has changed, It is the best garage in South East London by far. Extremely helpful and friendly staff - Excellent Garage, Excellent Service. I for one cannot fault it.

My van went in to Claremont at the Welling branch due to the fuel injector had packed up. Unfortunately, the guys had to await on a external company to assist in removing the existing fuel injector only being that this person was the only one whom specifies in this area. The guys especially Jason was very informative, and advised me that the next call would to let me know when the company would come. That call was to say that my vehicle was ready to go. They are great at there job, and customer service is great.

After my starter motor was repaired through my warranty by claremont, i was told an error for my glow plugs were coming up but as i was paying 40% of the bill i thought id give them a surprise visit with my obd2 reader and check this as i was sure there were no fault codes when my car was taken in. And yes you guessed it, no fault codes were present and i drove away with my car without being stung. You need your wits about you with this garage or they will rip you off. Avoid at all cost.

They were completely unaware of the battery ( electric car ) because my car had service here, I paid nearly £600 . they had broken my car battery , i drove for about 20 minutes to hear the battery chatter, when i turned around and said to them but they absolutely don't know why I was wrong to choose the service here. I advise people to stay away from this place especially , they don't know they are not good batteries and electric. 0 star. They get the money and they don't care.

All I can say it what a wonderful garage. Went into the welling site and dealt with Jason He was so helpful polite and professional Quoted all repairs. Talked me through everything that was required to fix my Mercedes. 3 other local garages could not help or weren't interested All I can say is if there were more than 5 stars Jason would get them all. Car is perfect even gave it a courtesy wash and vac. Well above and beyond Perfect service CLAREMONT WELLING.

Great friendly people...I. have been taking my car there for M.O.T for years. They also do special deals if you book on line.. The only thing that was not done even though I booked a silver service this year and a premium service last year is that i think maybe I'm wrong that they wash & hoover the car as part of the 2 services but like I said I might have misread it but other than that they are a great bunch there.

They are brilliant, they let me leave my van there for a few days because a family emergency meant I couldn’t get back to collect my vehicle and they were good as gold, didn’t hassle me or keep ringing me and they were jam packed for room so service like that means bundles, respect to these guys they do a fantastic job taking care of our g4s lease vans, MOT, bodywork etc brilliant garage

Took my BMW 5 series in for a platinum service and air con re-gas - no problems at all, everything done as expected, car was even washed for me. Was quoted a reasonable price (and no sales pressure) for some extra work that needs doing (brake discs & pads) - and the quote even printed out for me on the service report - will be returning in the future.

We did go there for a van repair and they refused to talk to us and to service the vehicle without a particular reason. That was done in a very rude manner. This garage is a shame for the Welling community and simply should not be trading. Avoid at any cost.
