This place use to be my favorite for pastries, and they still do, but customer service at the lowest point I had experienced recently, I usually go for lunch and or breakfast at least once a week. This morning I ordered my usual smoked salmon croissant and a cinnamon roll and my usual coffee latte I finished with my savory croissant and I started having my cinnamon roll croissant. Cinnamon roll was not tasty. It was very dry, and it didn’t meet my expectation, I went to exchange it for another pastry, the counter person called the manager, I explained to her that I tasted it and it’s not what I expected , she looked at it and insisted that I am wrong , because it’s in her opinion was fresh( which was not my point). She said “ she will do it just this time”. I believe we still in the great country called USA, where the motto “ customer’s always right” Attached my exchanged pastry which was just as dry, burned and tasteless and as it appears to everyone that it’s almost burned , which confirm my claim, that cocola is over baking their items causing them to dry and even burned This is not what someone would expect from a place located in Santana Row. Thanks for the good treatment , I’m definitely taking my business somewhere else. Good luck cocola with this attitude.

We placed an order ahead of time for a birthday cake with delivery set for 7 PM. The day of, we called the bakery to confirm that the order was set and they verified the order and delivery details. At 6:05 PM, we get a text confirming that the order is set to be delivered at 7 PM and a link with the tracker. At 6:51 PM, we get a text stating “your delivery from Cocola Bakery has been canceled” and to contact the bakery for more information. We tried calling multiple times regarding our existing order with no answer, but when we told the automated system that we had a new order we got someone immediately on the line. The employee then proceeded to continually deny that we had an order with the bakery. They told us that we may have placed an order with the Redwood City branch instead and to contact them, but that branch closes at 5 PM and they have no way of seeing their orders. This was in fact not true and we had called their specific branch earlier in the day to confirm the order. The next day we called the same branch back who issued a perfunctory apology with no explanation and issued a refund for our order that they miraculously found in their system.

Cocola is a fancy patisserie with decent coffee, pastry and sandwich options. Tons of pastry options!! They have 3 sized coffee cups. They have tons of pastry and baked goods. Over the time, pastries look all colorful and I started avoiding them given how much artificial coloring they are using. I still didn’t take out any star because their baked goods are fantastic and they offer one of the best coffees. I have been going here for over 10 years and this is the most prominent attraction for me at Santana Row. Plenty indoor and outdoor seating available. Heaters are available for outdoor seating. Tons of people were dining outdoors with their dogs, that was an extra treat to watch :). Location is fantastic and it’s in the middle of beautiful Santana row. Plenty public parking available in the covered garage at under 5 mins walk. I am a frequent here!!

Amazing Bakery and Cafe located on Santana Row. It is packed on a Saturday with people sitting inside and outside the cafe. We were walking by on the street and saw someone holding a strawberry croissant that look incredible and we heard that crunch when he bit into it. We decided try Cocola and ordered a strawberry croissant and an iced americano. The service was fast and pleasant, everyone is nice! The strawberry croissant is a new item and inside of it had this delectable strawberry cream. The ice americano was strong and the two together was a match made in heaven. There is always room for dessert, especially when it's a dark chocolate dessert. Yum! About 30 minutes after my cousin and I finished enjoying our meals at Pizza Antica, I saw this bakery across the street, so she and I ventured over to take a peek at what they had to offer. There wasn't an initial intention to get any dessert, but after seeing all the sweets in their display case, I opted in. I ended up getting a dark chocolate dessert, that looked like a large "Ho Ho", it was really good, not too rich and not very dense. It was more on the lighter side. Needless to say she and I polished it off. Cost wise, I felt like the cost was about average. She and I shared the dessert outside on their patio to the side of the bakery. It was a special treat to purchase a dessert, not something I normally get to do.

Service was rude. The guy taking our order last night got it wrong. I tried to correct him and he gave attitude saying “this is just a short cut to it” when the order came, it wasn’t clearly wrong. Short cut??? Gaslight much! I tipped 20% for no reason be he gaslit me for correcting him. This place used to be nice to go to after dinner. I usually take my business meetings here. This has been the 3rd time the service has been awful. This used to be my go-to, but I will not give my money here anymore. I do not recommend this place. The overpriced coffee is not worth getting rude service. There’s other coffee shops, and Eatly across the street is a way better option!!!

I love this bakery. First off, the location in the middle of Santana Row with Al fresco seating is awesome. It usually is busy, but the small wait is pretty much worth it. The coffee os strong and is made just right. We had a latte and a double cappuccino, which were served quickly and had the right amount of kick for an afternoon break. They have a wide selection of pastries. I have tried their tiramisu and croissants, and those a pretty good. On this particular trip, we had a Napoleon and decided to give the Banana Crunchy a try. Wow! It was so yummy. I highly recommend it. Enjoy a coffee, indulge in a pastry, and do some people watching. This is a fun place to spend an afternoon.

A great place that offers variety of baked foods like croissants (chocolate, almond with sugar dusted and filled with cream, strawberry, regular), danish, pastries, cakes, and many such. For me the filling in croissant seemed a bit eggy, I guess that needs to be left in the oven a little more. Other than that, friendly staff, clean location, quick service. Of course they offer beverages which we loved (note: it’s a lot of chai latte and coffee). They serve hot sandwiches, soups and salad if you wish to grab a quick bite. Visited this place on a Saturday so expected the crowds, great location. Would totally recommend it.

A mix of a French patisserie and a bakery - a lot of breakfast and a little bit of lunch. The servings for lunch are very generous - if you order a side with your lunch, keep in mind that it could be a meal on its own! The food is freshly made and the breads are good quality. The restaurant itself is right on Santana Row and is a good option for lunch. Even with the lunchtime rush, we were able to get our food and a table without any wait. Keep an eye on your possessions, though - while we were eating today, a thief grabbed someone’s purse, jumped in a car, and drove off before anyone could even react :(

The staff and quality of food was horrid. I asked for a latte and the server brought me an iced latte which is fine but then when I mentioned that I had asked for a regular latte she scoffed at me and said well this is what I made. Then I asked for my latte and then they proceeded to speak in Spanish about how I didn’t and say not positive commentary... I understand Spanish. I think that was highly inappropriate. I am a business owner and I think they will be loosing quite a bit of business for how horrid their staff are. Went next door instead for a pleasant experience.

I’ve eaten here many times during my lunch break but today the owner it seems (a lady) rudely asked me to move or leave because another lady needed 2 tables for a group. A nice gentlemen let me sit next to him and another guy moved over too. I have seen many people sit here outside of the store who were not buying from the bakery and yet I was asked my the owner to move since I didn’t buy anything. I thought it was impolite and unprofessional.

Situated in Santana Row, this opulent patisserie offers breads and delectable single pastries that feeds your craving and wanting more again. Been visiting this place whenever I happen to drop by Santana Row. I always take home the mango mousse. My favorite. The pastries are soft and silky in your mouth and the sweetness is close to perfection. This patisserie is a must visit whenever you visit trendy Santana Row or accidentally not on your destination. They also serve great coffee and expressos.

Always busy. We usually stopped by for some coffee and pastries after dinner from one of the many restaurants in Santana Row. This time, they sold out most of their pastries and cakes. We had to settled with what they have left. Overall, they are good, but the apple tart was off. The crust was not cooked all the way and the apples are bland. Not much of flavor. My latte was only lukewarm. Not what I was expecting. Hope this is just one of those day when things are a bit hectic and not to par.

One of the best coffee shops in Santa Row. Large variety of cakes, pastries and Danish. Enjoy a meal of sandwiches, salads and soups or visit for coffee and teas. Great combination of cappuccino and almond croissant or just try a pineapple twist. Satisfy your sweet tooth or just take a break from expensive shopping at the row. The place gets busy so have patience to find a table. The staff is very welcoming and will make your visit worthwhile. Good fast service even when it's peak hours.

The coffee are pretty good. The are definitely very beautiful to look at. Considering how much they cost, I feel the taste is just ok. Their look are much better than their taste. The apple tart we had wasn't very flaky. The mango passion fruit cake is good. The shell on the fruit tart is way too hard. We went on a weekend so it was quite crowded. I feel the experience was fine. It's a nice bakery with pretty looking pastries with average taste. It's just not outstanding.

Lovely cafe on Santana Row. They have lots of outdoor seating (all shaded or with umbrellas). I got a strawberry croissant. It’s super pretty and filled with a delicious strawberry cream, though it was a tad sweet for me. The croissant itself is very buttery and light I could barely hold it without my fingers sinking into the pastry. Priced as you would expect for something on the Row. Also, posting the review partially because I’m getting three macarons for it :P

If you like almond croissants don’t buy one here. I was terribly disappointed when the croissant had artificial flavored custard. For $7.50, it should’ve tasted better than a seven eleven or a Starbucks pastry. Esthetically pleasing, mellow outdoor ambiance, other than that low quality drinks & pastries.

It's definitely a must visit place if you are in San Jose. I got a chance to try 4-5 of their items and every item lived up to the expectation. The baked items are not too sweet which I liked. They have a wide variety of items. They have pastries as well and so you have a good breakfast. It's usually crowded. So you may have to wait a few mins for a table. Giving 4 stars because some of the staff were a bit mean.

A little cozy place French inspired Boulangerie/ Patisserie along classy Santana Row in San Jose, this place is famous in town. Best baked tarts/ cakes/ sweets, all mouth watering. Friendly staffs, but it’s very noisy inside the cafe. Always busy, pricey though. Cappuccino and strawberry eclair is always delicious to have here. They also serve sandwiches, salads, soups and sides.

We have loved this place since their opening several years ago. Hazelnut cake, millefeuille and caprese sandwich is usually our standard order. Yesterday evening they were out of most of our favorites, so took what was available (triple chocolate mousse and pistachio and chocolate macarons). Adding photos here every time we get something new :)

Have been here many times, great place to take a break from shopping at Santana Row. It has limited seatings indoor, but lots of outdoor seatings, with heaters on in the winter. It offers salads, sandwiches, deserts and coffee. Coffee and drinks are typically okay. However, I have noticed that its desert selections and quality has deteriorated.

The bakery does amazing job at presenting all their products. The aisle filled with amazing looking desserts are all tempting and one will desire to try them all. Taste wise i felt they were little on the sweeter tone for my palate. It's location is also amazing in a nice upscale street with lot of other coffee shops,restaurants and bars.

We ordered the Rogue (Fresh strawberry cake) and the Cheesecake all the other cakes have alcohol in them. There was not much space inside to sit. The chai latte was good too. The mocha was okay. They don't have any non dairy or vegan options which was a disappointment, Otherwise this is pretty decent place to hang out over coffee.

We enjoyed the Cherry Sunrise, Rouge and 3 layer chocolate mousse. While each of them tasted really good individually, we loved the cherry sunrise and chocolate mousse the most. I'd say the experience overall was alright, the ambiance and service could've been a bit better, no wow factor but nothing to complain about either!

One of the most popular places on Rantana Row. the ambiance of the environment is beautiful. Desserts are fresh and delicious. Also, the employees are very helpful and smiling. Warning: We learned that there is gelatin in cakes. Those with halal sensitivities should not buy the product without asking about the content.

Was a wonderful spot to sit down and have a tasty pastry. Was recommended a delicious sweet and cheesy croissant form a kind worker named Raz. The lighting of the whole area was perfect when visiting late for a little dessert! Definitely worth it due to the kind and informative workers! Thank you Raz!

The ambiance is the only good thing about this place. They took my order wrong, charged me 150% of what I actually ordered and when I went back to get my order corrected they didn't even refund the money. No service either. You have to constantly go in to check if your order is ready.

I always hit Cocola when I go to Santana Row, no matter what time of day it is! They have superb desserts (particularly the three-chocolate mousse) and awesome breakfasts (I am partial to the cheese Danish and my boyfriend loves the almond croissant). I highly recommend you stop by!

Right in the center of Santana Row, great location with indoor and outdoor seating. Came here for breakfast almost all week during my visit. One of the few spots on the row that actually opens early. They serve a variety of pastries, sandwiches, hot/cold drinks and light snacks.

One of the premier patisserie in Bay Area. They have a huge selection of breakfast pastries, cakes, tarts, sandwiches, salad and beverages. The food is so fresh, delicious and made to perfection. Must try Chocolate eclair and the Bamboo (a Mango Passion fruit mousse pastry)

I am beyond hooked on their coffee; it is a religious experience. I’ve come back numerous times and it was amazing all times except one; however, the barista was understanding and offered to remake my drink, at which point it was amazing again. Thank you for doing that!

Loved the desserts here. They are quite delicious and look amazing. The cafe latte is fantastic. This is one of the best bakeries in San Jose! Sitting outside under all those lights in Santana Row and having a bite out of these desserts is one of a kind experience.

The shop was very cold. My flat white was a bucket of milk almost twice the size of a latte! I had to show the lady what a flat white looked like.

At $6 a piece, I’m surprised the chocolate cake tasted stale and dry which didn’t happen the other time when I bought it. The mango passion fruit cake was delicious though. Disappointed and probably won’t go back for desserts in the future.

Tried their coconut macaroon and mango and passion fruit mousse. Both the desserts were amazing and felt very fresh. Macaroon was mildly sweet, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Mousse was very soft and delicious.

This place is overrated and over priced for frozen cakes. Cakes are not fresh, i got a piece of cake and the strawberries were frozen that hurt my teeth so much. Not a fan, not sure why i paid 23$ for two frozen pastries.

We ordered about $50 of pastries. Almost chocked to death on a non edible decoration. The pastries were kind of a let down. I personally don't feel they were worth it. The staff however were awesome.

I had the napoleon only, nothing else, so that’s very less number of dishes to review! But the Napoleon was very tasty, the slightly salty patty on the top tastes wonderful with the cream below!

I enjoyed eating here but it’s definitely on the pricey side. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich which was okay. The desserts are good and worth it but I probably won’t come back for lunch.
