"They have a schedule from 9am-2pm"
"I wonder why you make an appointment if you have to wait like 2 hours to be helped and when I asked why, a very rude guy told me that the appointment is to be allowed to be in the building… what a bad experience"
"Dear Ms"
"Why will Ecuador not give Julian Assange, a citizen of Ecuador, safe passage from your embassy in the UK to your country? Please restore his communications which you cut two weeks ago"
They have a schedule from 9am-2pm. If you call them within those hours they DO answer. You need to select what your calling for and then select to speak to someone. If you select directly "talking with a representative" it sends you to voicemail. It happened to me several times until I figured it out. I was also frustrated. That's the reason I do not give them a 5 star. The two ladies I talked to on the phone in two different days were very nice and extremely helpful. Also, prior to calling them I sent an email through "consulado virtual" on live chat, I believe, and I got a response from them first time in the morning. It's a little complicated. They need to make it easier access.

I wonder why you make an appointment if you have to wait like 2 hours to be helped and when I asked why, a very rude guy told me that the appointment is to be allowed to be in the building… what a bad experience.unfortunately whoever works there, has not been trained on customer service skills… he probably thinks he is in Ecuador, unfortunately, that’s the bad culture of customer service that we experience in our country. They don’t know they live in USA and those bad habits don’t apply here. Hopefully somebody cares about the surveys.
Dear Ms. Maria Eugenia Avilés Sevallos Cónsul General I just wanted to thank you for your help with the name change affidavit during our meeting on Wednesday at 1pm. I am so grateful for your professionalism, kindness, patience and willingness to answer all of my questions so thoroughly. I was very moved by your communication and people skills during our meeting, it made a real difference in allaying any fears I had about the situation. just wanted to share how much it was appreciated by me. Thank you again
Why will Ecuador not give Julian Assange, a citizen of Ecuador, safe passage from your embassy in the UK to your country? Please restore his communications which you cut two weeks ago. This is a violation of international human rights. The UN has defined his condition as arbitrary detention. All charges against him were dropped over a year ago for lack of evidence. There is nothing preventing you from shielding your own citizen from US extradition. Have some courage; do the right thing.
Very inattentive, I called them so many times during the time they said they would accept calls and they never answered. It’s been 2 more than a month now, and when I email them they send me an application to fill out. That application is so suspicious, it asks for every detail of your passport, and even when you send it in, you are likely to wait a whole month before they respond to you. Their website is confusing too, and making an appointment there is as useful as calling them.
It really is "luck of the draw" whether you will get someone rude or helpful at the consulate. My experience was alright but I'm having problems now that I'm in Ecuador. I applied and got a 2-year Professional Visa. The consulate told me all I needed was my original, notarized, apostilled diploma in Ecuador to register it with the government here. That is incorrect. I also need a notarized copy of my transcripts, which I didn't have. Hopefully this review will help someone else.
MUY AGRADECIDOS POR LA AMABILIDAD Y PROFECIONALISMO DEL CONSULADO ECUATORIANO EN LOS ANGELES , CONTESTARON TODAS MIS PREGUNTAS ,,,GRACIAS TAMBIEN POR SU AYUDA CON LOS TRAMITES PARA PODER REPATRIAR EL CUERPO DE UN CUIDADADNO ECUATORIANO Q LAMENTABLEMENTE MURIO LEJOS DE NUESTRA PATRIA .. SENORA MARIA ESCOBAR GRACIAS POR TODO EL TIEMPO Q SE TOMO PARA EXPLICARME LOS PROCESOS A SEGUIR... SIGAN TRABAJANDO ASI X FAVOR PARA TODOS LOS MIGRATES.
I've tried contacting them for over two months now for a document. The one time they did contact me was while I was busy, and they did not try to contact me then after. They sent me an online application to fill out, and in the document it says it would take 3-26 days before they get back to me. Overall, I feel like I've wasted my time, more so than when I tried to actually call them during their short customer phone service hours.
If I could give them a minus 5 I would. Worst experience. System down and they didn’t do anything. After a year waiting they called me cause I was insisting and they told me ow sorry you need to comeback because there was a mistake and we are changing our system. The worst is I’m here this year and the lady that answer the phone gave me the wrong time of my appointment. I feel like every time I come I’m wasting my time!!
Amazing customer service!! Everybody went above and beyond to answer all of our questions and help my parents with their power of attorney and their cédulas. The level of care, attention to details, and loving patience made us all feel at home. Thank you for everything you did for us and for bringing us a piece of our beautiful Ecuador to the states. Best experience EVER!!!
the peaceful spoken welcoming to the ecuador embassy.the lady told me .how can i help u.they corteous and try to help everybody in a best possible.some people wants everything fast and demands .but the workers at the embassy have excellent service and i believe they need to be working with thecpresident .they are so professionals.
I went to Consulate of Ecuador in Los Angeles two weeks ago and the service was good. I was waiting for almost 2 hours. For all procedures you must have the scheduled appointment with a money order, also the procedure is delayed, you have to be patient. In the case of being a foreigner, have a valid passport.
No one answers the phone. I leave messages, no reply for days. Feb 28, 2019 I attempted to reach out to the Consulate in LA, California 2 years ago and received a reply yesterday. This in itself is proof of their inefficiency. The contact information provide in the reply message posted below is inaccurate.
If I could I would give -100 stars (negative one hundred)....one hour waiting for someone to help me. Just so that they can tell me that they are not giving birth certificates today. What? Where is your sign of items you won’t be able to do today. the worse service possible, with condescending jerks.
Rude, completley unhelpful. They gave me information that is wrong, and she literally laughed out loud when i asked if they might have access to my vaccination records. As if the idea that the Ecuadorian consulate would be modernized with an online database was a joke. Well, they are a joke.
Excellent service! I was able to schedule an appointment within the same week for a power of attorney. In addition, the consulate went above and beyond to answer my questions about obtaining my cédula. She communicated with Ecuador about my case and followed up in a timely manner.
Hard to get through to someone if you needed help. In addition, there is a woman who answers the phone and she is extremely rude, impatient and will even hang up the phone on you. She shouldn't be serving the public. Call the Phoenix office if you need help.
Very rude people. Trying to get information on how to buy a house in Ecuador and Power of Attorney information and woman answering the phone on 5/11/15 around noon did not have the curtsy to hear me out. Hung up on me and then could not get through again.
Although hours of operation say 9-3pm, they are only open until 2pm. Also be patient lots of people want attention with less people behind the window. The small waiting room can get hot. Also note google maps may take you the wrong location on Wilshire.
Thank you, thank you Joseph for everything, so sorry about my last review, I wasn't on good mood, because my Mother passed away, I was so mad, I was so sad, and I still, este dolor nadie me lo quita, I was con my Mamacita toda mi Vida, you …
I called on 3/22. Should have asked the name of the person that picked up the phone. She was very very rude. I politely asked if I could renew my passport even though it has a year left from expiring. She said no, not possible. I asked if
I called to asked some questions on renewing my husband’s passport and the guy I talked to was so nice, helpful, and informative. The Ecuadorian Consulate in Los Angeles was the most helpful of all their Consulates that I have called.
The staff were very helpful even though I did wait long (very long) they were very helpful and also helped with stuff I didn't think of updating. Very helpful and friendly I just wish the place was bigger and there were more staff!
The site is easy to get to do not use the parking on site it is very expensive try using off street parking. The site is a lot better now that there is a appointment only. The hours are too short they need to expand them.
I been CALLING for the past 2 weeks and also have left voice message and i wrote an email but never received a phone call back. I really want to talk with them, I do not know what I can do to reach them.
I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews . The person who helped me, Edwin, was super helpful, knowledgeable, polite and friendly. I came prepared and everything went smoothly. Thank you!!
Amazing experience and service. Everybody helped me get my passport renewal completed. I can’t thank them enough. The staff went above and beyond to help me. Great experience. Thanks
The staff of the Ecuadorian consulate very helpful and knowledgeable, very efficient, my appointment was at 9:30 am, they helped me out right away, Great job, Gracias
Been trying to make contact for three days. Very difficult to talk to someone. There's always a message "There's no one available to take your call at this moment"
El trato fue excelente, cómo un pedacito de ecuador, estoy muy agradecido con cada una de las personas que nos ayudaron, especialmente al cónsul general.
An excellent experience obtaining a Visa. The staff was helpful, friendly and efficient. Bravo to the Consulate of Ecuador in Los Angeles.
Very courteous and helpful staff. The consulate gets crowded on Mondays and Friday but it is much less crowded on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The kindest people. So helpful and patient. Wonderful service, with respect, humor and best attitude.
Excellent staff and wonderful people all around. Thanks so much for your help. God bless you all.
The service is slow. They take too long. The hours of attending are too short
No one answer the calls, should be ashamed of the services you are giving.
Staff rude as hell wait time for a renewal of passport son unos groceros
Helpful but took longer than I thought it would for renewal.
They never answer the phone. Nunca contestan el telefono
Really bad service, this people can't even take calls!!
Good attitude question asked i got answer …
