Wait for 2 hours and told me can not approve for my docs legalization. Exact same docs just need to legalize again and everything was cool few weeks ago. Now is not working anymore and ask for more proof and docs! Protocol constantly changes and never has a standard. Just charge charge and keep charging money

Wow talk about efficiency!! If you have all your documents printed out (if not there is a photocopy machine for 25cents per page) then you will be seen and taken care of promptly. No lines and open windows when I went in, so in and out in less than 10 minutes!!

  • Iris Lu

The time on your online reservation doesn't mean anything. You have to line up once you pass the security to have a lady check all your docs and get a number if your package is complete. Come as early as 8:30 am to line up if you don't want

To apply for a Chinese Visa as a naturalized American born in China, you need your Chinese Passport. If you don't have it, they'll require extra information to verify your Chinese status; this verification can take months. This policy seems

I'm giving 4 stars because the workers wer patient and not rude. I found a parking garage about 1 block away $50, traffic was a bit heavy trying to maneuver the area around the Consulate in NYC. You are Not allowed to have your cell phone

  • Clément Lejeune

Security moves pretty quickly. Visa section movers pretty efficiently too. However there was a line post security, where one of the consular officer check to see if you have all the necessary paperworks. Strongly advise everyone to check

I sincerely doubt the efficiency and reliability of this place. I visited it twice to pick up my passport after receiving a message from them that it was ready to be picked up. However, they were yelling at you to cover up their mistakes.

The consulate was originally a Sheraton Motor Inn built by the architect Morris Lapidus in 1961. Lapidus was the lead architect for Miami Beach’s famous hotels, including the neo-Baroque Fontainebleau and Eden Roc. Many called his work

The visa department email not responding, phone is not able to connect, appointment online not able to schedule. What the hell is going on? Why you take delivery passport but no response at all? It has been more than 1 months already.

Show up 1 hour before it opens at 9am and be prepare for the process to take about 2 hours. No cell phone allow inside , bring a book or something to do while you wait . Applying for the first time visa as a U.S citizen was the most

This is a rating of my own personal experience. I arrived at a later time of the day around 11am ish. i was worried about how busy it may be and how long the wait is based on online reviews. However there were no line outside of the

MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ONLINE the website says you can walk in but you cannot you need an appointment. It's not fast bc no government offices are, but the people are helpful and tell you what you need. Try to have your paperwork well

For the folk who first time applying a Chinese visa, this place has a lack of support for you all. Most of all USA born WITH Chinese parents. To start, the first-timers, who come in person are forced out and to apply online.

Don't know why so many low stars. Everything was fast and smooth, I didn't wait more than 20 minutes. They don't answer the phone but you can write them by the email, and just follow instructions from the web page

  • Jessi Lin

The policy is incomplete and unreasonable first, the website didn't mention clearly of all the material you needs. I notice that we need to bring our green card copy when i get there in the appointment,

I'm giving this three stars for lack of transparency and lack of communication of the process. Hopefully this review helps someone save time. Its not so difficult, but a bit stressful.

The door opens at 8:30 for security check and tickets. The window opens at 9:00. If you get there at 8:30 you can prob get out at 9:30. I have to say that they are pretty efficient

Quick and easy if you come fully prepared with all of your documents printed and in your hands. Read the visa requirements posted on the NY consulate general website.

The place feels like a DMV. Honestly I expected less, but they worked efficiently and didn't give me a hard time. It's all you can really ask for.

  • Narêche Bakpete

Great experience overall. Welcoming staff. Average waiting time is 40min on busy time and 10min when the hall is not crowded. The service is fast.

Dear Chinese Consulate. Since the outbreak, I have not been able to visit my elderly parents, who are both 93 years old, for almost three years.
