"What to say, ordered food for our wedding reception, food great but requested vegetarian curry with No mushrooms as one quest has a serious allergic reaction, they told my now husband they don’t cook with mushrooms, on the day the quest had the curry with mushrooms lots of mushrooms in the currywhat a disaster for the quest, called them no apology said they did not know??? My now husband has a allergic reaction to peanuts and know how serious this is and no way would not have told them, so for me never again, so disappointing as have always loved this place

"Their patties are horrendous I am extremely disappointed with what I am being sold they used to be scrumptious and delicious but now they are hard and dry "
"Lovely place to grab some breakfast in the morning before you get to work (especially cornmeal porridge which is so good and in high demand and sells out very quickly)"
"Lovely homemade bread, food and sweets"
I Went to this Bakery today.. Firstly I do not know any shop that does not take card apart from this one, I wonder why! I purchased 1 plantain & Oats Porridge, 1 hardobread and 2 buns. When the man tallied my bill it came to £11.60... I than asked what size porridge he gave me, he said a large. I then replied I did not want a large I wanted a small, he then said I didn't ask for a small, i then replied he didn't ask me what size.. regardless who is wrong or right here, I am the customer. Better service would have been for the man to just change the porridge for a small which he did not do. I found it very unprofessional that this man would even have the nerve to tell me I didn't ask for a small, but I also didn't ask for a large either. I ended up paying and taking the large alongside the other goods I purchased, only to realise once i reached home that the man had short changed me by 10p and the porridge given had hominy init. What a joke! Bad service. I will not be spending my money back in this bakery. I guess this member of staff needs to go on a customer service course and learn how to deal with members of the public appropriately Il continue to stick to First Choice Bakery, always receive good service and they definitely would have changed my porridge for a small !

Their patties are horrendous I am extremely disappointed with what I am being sold they used to be scrumptious and delicious but now they are hard and dry . I bought one today and I nearly broke my tooth from how tough it was you could hardly bite into it. It was a horrible feeling and no one should ever have to experience this. I honestly don't know what's happened to cornfield bakerys but wow it's not good. But as you can see I am one unhappy and and extremely unsatisfied customer so I really hope you take this into consideration when your making the patties. I will sue next time if I have the same experience and end up chipping or breaking my tooth on this.
Lovely place to grab some breakfast in the morning before you get to work (especially cornmeal porridge which is so good and in high demand and sells out very quickly). Also their selection on food include dumplings, patties, ackie and salt fish etc, takes you back to the Caribbean with every bite or drink. As they are bakers as well their bread and buns are authentically Caribbean and fresh. To wrap it all the customer service there is really good with a polite, helpful and friendly staff.
Lovely homemade bread, food and sweets...you can tell how much love goes into all of the food. Definitely best bun I have tasted in a long while. The smell as you walk in is just heavenly and the prices are somewhat reasonable. Nothing beats fresh warm hard-dough bread out of the oven. I travel from Morden just to purchase from here. Would definitely recommend.
Was once one of the best places in south London to get your traditional Jamaican pattie but has recently dropped in quality. However the home made breads especially the hardough breads are still very good, if it was not for the dryness of the patties, which one was one of its main plus points, I would have given this bakers a 5 star rating.
This is the ONLY place I buy my fruitless bun and bread. I am always warmly welcomed even in very busy times. Thank you for having great customer service, everytime, something which seems to be lacking in this day and age. I didn't give 5 stars as I haven't tried anything other than my usual. Keep up the good work!
Wow! What a beautifully presented and tasty selection of fresh baked goods and meals. I went only because someone asked me to pick something up and I ended up buying food for myself too. Its not close by to me but if I'm in the area, I'll definitely be going again. They didn't take cards so take cash with you.
Been buying from here for years as the make the best food around IMO! I've since moved to the Midlands, but still pass by when I'm down to pick up bun as no-one bakes them like Cornfield!

Brilliant local bakery. We've been coming for years and even though I'd don't live as close these days, we still pass by for a few loaves of hardobread (white and wholemeal) and some bun. So good that I queued in lockdown for Easter bun. It's cash only but I'm not mad. They're worth it!
Fry chicken and the cabbage with saltfish is my favourite. This shop has been going for years and was one of the first Jamaican food shops in Thornton Heath. Staff attitude is good and the food is scrumptious. Well worth a visit if your looking for some decent hard food.
The products here are fresh and tasty. I would recommend everyone to go and give this bakery a try because the food they offer is truly magnificent and out of this world. I just wish they could do more offers so that people on lower budgets can afford the products.
Staff are abrupt makin u feel like ur not welcome....bread/bun looks fresh but are dry and flakey ...patties....no no no dry hard over cooked like a brick..if you ask for warm one they just brang out of the back ...they look at u as if u ask for 1st born child
Pretty average West Indian bakery. Not sure what all the fuss is tbh. Hard dough bread and bun is average. Customer service is what you would usually expect. I wouldn't drive miles and miles to come here for anything, but if you're local, then yeah sure.
Cornfield bakery has the best Jamaican food. I love the place ; the patties and buns are so delicious. I am wondering if they would FedEx their food. I should call and ask, but if any one is the Thornton heath area you should go and check this place out.
Have been going there from day 1. So pleased standards are still high. Lovely staff, no fuss they know their business As per other quotes definitely the best bread and bun in London. Shop should be bigger, other food is wicked Good selection of drinks
This is a decent option for foods/snacks Jamaican. I especially like the fact that they do not go over the top with sugar. Sadly, 3 stars only because for some reason they refuse to accept card payments; the thought is almost is prehistoric in 2023!
This is a bakery shop that do Caribbean food too, and they do it good! I came here as I was sort of working in the area, and this was the closest place that done Caribbean food to where I was. They greeted me straight away, took my order
Great selection of traditional Caribbean foods such as patties, dumplings and fish with a selection of traditional caribbean soft drinks. The customer service does not quite hit the mark but the variety of products make up the shortfall.
There were two people in front of me and two people behind. The guy serving was very entertaining and the customers joined in with his banter. He kept calling out the prices in dollars. As I had just come back from a trip abroad I had
I'm 47 and have been going to Cornfield bakery since I was 15. The food is excellent from the sweet moist Bun to the early morning porridge if you want the real real authentic Jamiacan food this is the spot …
Great fresh baked bread! Im not keen on the patties fillngs but the pastry is really good. I dont really purchase food here its all about the bread for me, if you get there early enough you can pick up a nice warm loaf!
Love the bun, bread, patties and salt fish dumplings here. They also do a range of really good cakes! have still not tried the hot food but heard its very good.

My favourite bakery in London. Freshly baked bread, buns and patties daily. The cornmeal porridge tastes exactly like home (Jamaica), I love this place from the good food to the banter with customers and staff.
I have just come home from there to buy a bun and banana cake. Soo delicious! The best I have had! A nice man served me and he was very polite and cheerful. I would definitely recommend this bakery. THANK YOU!
You know a place is this good when there's a queue outside the door there products always fresh worth the wait love all the carribean bakery products love my hard dough bread from here treasure of the area
Flipping joke place, still accepting cash when people do not want to touch money in this covid time. Even the lil man on road with his stall accept card. Joke place. Food is ok, they damn thief sometimes.
Bought a bun and a hard dough bread during Christmas week. You can order and collect. The bun was good, lots of flavour. The bread was heavy in weight and a bit doughy but I toasted it so not too bad.
This place opens 7 till 7. Breakfast to dinner ! My one stop shop for freshly baked bread and bun on the premises. Porridge to chicken & soup with other cooked products and Jamaican delicacies.
Really Impressed with the quality of bread and bun they sold over the Easter. That was my first experience, and I will be a returning customer, and I will recommend them to friends and family.
First time trying this place and this is now my go to for patties and all types of bread. I tried the chicken soup this morning and it brought back so many memories ❤️, it was so good.
Love this bakery. It's so nice to get traditional Jamaican baked goods, snack foods, gizzada, bun and of course Guinness punch, all under one roof. I visit once a week without fail
The bread and the bun is very nice always fresh and clean there is a lot of love that goes into making them and their customer service is great they are not goo busy to talk to yoy
Probably the best West Indian bakery in London, they definitely do the best BUN, not that anemic dry stuff that some places sell. Well worth a visit, well done …
Cornfields is great west Indian bakery. They sell cooked west Indian meals for the person on the go at a fair price friendly staff it's a must if you are in the area
Always love the level of service and quality of baked goods from this amazing establishment! I will not buy my bun from anywhere else as I am always disappointed...
I brought 2 beef patties and 1 lamb and when I got home to enjoy them I had 2 vegetable patties and 1 lamb very disappointing it's not a hard order to get right.
Best place for hard dough bread, bun and patties in Croydon. Been using it from the day it was first opened almost 30 years ago. The food there is great as well.
You want fresh delious bread and fruit bun then here's where you come. Yes they have the taste of the Caribbean also on display for you to buy, so hurry down.
Best Bun and Hard dough bread I've tasted fresh and warm order from here all the time and never any faults with their Bun and Hard dough bread. No complaints.
Had cabbage from there and two veg patties...on both occasions I threw up after...avoid this place

In 2020 why is this place still only cash only, can't fault the food though I grew up on their hard dough bread, which is the best I've had this country
The best place to get your bakery in the Surrey area. The patties, hardo bread and bun bread in particular is simply amazing each and every time.

My favourite Caribbean bakery. I live on the South Coast, and whenever I get upto Croydon, I have to stop here for patties and a bun
Hasn't changed. Still maintaining the same quality and you can rely on it. The are well known for their patties and for good reason.
Delicious hard doughbread bun coconut drop. patties soup fried fish and other carribben delight. No photo I eat the evidence …
The picture below is the contents of what is supposed to be a salt fish patty. It was all filler and no fish, disgraceful!
VERY disappointed with the quality of the bun this Easter(2023), particularly as it's more expensive at that time of year.
3 people max in the shop at any one time. Sadly no card payment taken. Excellent bread and other baked treats...love it..
Served me the driest piece of jerk chicken imaginable. Truly disgusting. Will never forget and will never go back again
I only buy my Hardough bread from Cornfield. Theres taste better than the others. Ive been shopping there for YEARS.
Fantastic aroma from this bakery. We were lucky to be passing by and able to pick up some hardo bread and bun
Good Caribbean bakery for snacks, hardough bread, bun, bulla cakes etc. Payment in cash, cards not accepted.
Party sized Patties for £1 each. We pre-ordered x40 for a party + x10 regular salt-fish -(have no minis)
Great customer service and amazing produce, reasonably priced. That's why I return time and time again.
The best Caribbean bakery. The meals ,bread, bun, and various cakes pastry there always excellent.
Very good products. Great Taste The Shop needs a face lift. But service is friendly and efficient
Fresh, tasty products and 2 staff members I've spoken to have been very kind. Highly recommended.
Always experience great customer service and get all my whole wheat and hardo bread from them.
