"With Climate Change destruction facing our Children, Grandkids & Great GRAND kids I find the refusal to be accepting returns for the containers they sell a VERY destructive posture to only care about PROFITS and responsiblity for their effects on the Climate Change that is now and effecting the world we leave our children and grandchildren"
"Awesome experience here! The wonderful lady working the counter was very much on top of her duties"
"Intimidatingly large selection of wine"
Racially profiled by security and watched like I was there to steal. I will never go there again. I decided to give the staff the benefit of the doubt and a second chance so I went back there. I was immediately singled out by loss prevention and despite other people being in the store I became the center of attention. I bend down to see the products on the bottom shelf and security made no effort into being stealthy while watching me. He stood at the end of the aisle and exaggerated his bending down also to see what I was doing. The message that sent to me was loud and clear. My kind isn't welcome in HIS establishment. I approach the cashier to complain and was told that I looked suspicious because I'm a resident of the DTES and he was just doing his job. Famous last words. The cashier at this point put my purchases behind the counter and demanded that I leave HIS establishment. Apparently if you're a person of color and you don't want your rights violated and refused service go elsewhere.
In quarantine across the street from crosstown so I ordered three bottles of wine. Two arrived. I called the store. First they told me I had ordered nothing, then they told me that three bottles of wine left the store so the delivery guy stole one. Up to me to sort it out with the delivery service. Called the delivery man who freaked out and went back to the store. Turns out they missed the third bottle-totally their fault. I got an apology scribbled on the delivery bag and two cans of hard lemonade to make up for the mix up. I wouldn’t drink that if I were dying of thirst on a desert island, so the gesture was lost on me. Really truly terrible customer service including a phone call during which I was told I hadn’t really ordered anything so I was out of luck. If I could give the store and it’s staff zero stars I would happily. I would never consider ordering from these clowns again.
With Climate Change destruction facing our Children, Grandkids & Great GRAND kids I find the refusal to be accepting returns for the containers they sell a VERY destructive posture to only care about PROFITS and responsiblity for their effects on the Climate Change that is now and effecting the world we leave our children and grandchildren. To be only concerned with PROFITS and not being responsible for the effects of the waste All our children will be dealing with is not the kind of business We should be supporting and the bill we leave for our kids, Grandchildren to pay for our irresponsible behavior? It's now and not tomorrow we have a duty to do today, look your kids in the EYES & try and explain our behavior NOW!
Awesome experience here! The wonderful lady working the counter was very much on top of her duties. She was so kind to a disabled older man and very kindly sent us to another staff so she could assist the gentleman in exiting. He didn't want the easy way out but the fact she was so willing and happy to do so gave me some extra faith in humanity that's generally lacking. This woman is a great addition to this location, she gives a dose of compassion and love in the visits. (and I honestly hate coming into downtown, but I'll come back due to her great service.) Thanks again for the wonderful customer service
Intimidatingly large selection of wine. The craft beer selection always changing with new, and fun local beers, but always well stocked with my faves. I love that all the prices advertised include tax and deposit, which actually ends up being the close to same as the BCL (classic government, never up front about anything!). The staff are awesome, and don’t put up with the neighborhood riff raff. I definitely appreciate the employees not only working through pandemic, but being open until 11pm every day, even on holidays. Crosstown is truly a pillar of the community.
I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped in to buy some wine for my dinner. I had never been to this store but found the staff friendly and very helpful. Since it is a rough area of town I was a little worried that the store might not be very nice, but I found it to be organized and very clean. One of the staff helped me pick out an excellent bottle of white wine. He was very patient and kind. I look forward to shopping there again in the future when I'm in the neighbourhood.
This place used to be my home local when I lived near here but now it's become my work local and I usually stop in after a long shift to grab a few beers in order to unwind. Despite it's location, it's always super clean and quiet with amazing staff that treat you well. Prices are fair for a private liquor store too, unless you're looking at the red wine XD
This store has been my go-to for a while now, ever since moving to the neighborhood 3 years ago. the selection is great for the size of store (especially if you like craft beer). You do pay a little more than say, in the suburbs, but that's to be expected in downtown vancouver. The staff are nice and eager to help you find what you're looking for.
Not too many people know about this location but it is been told and Legend is said that if you find the store great things will come especially if you have a taste for alcohol and I yearning to see a place that has a selection that is for the Gods come down across town liquor store if it's literally just a beer or a pack or a good bottle!!!!
Meh. I'm not a huge fan of this store. Staff are kinda brusque (but considering the neighbourhood that they're in, I guess it's not surprising). For some reason the security guy always tailgates me all around the store too, which is annoying. Also, they don't carry the (pretty mainstream) cider that I like. Prices are exorbitant!
A really good little liquor store. It's got all the craft beers and stuff you'd need. The beers are kept in a fridge which is a nice change from the gov stores. It's quite good despite it's location which can be a bit dicey at times. The staff has always been pretty great to me. Haven't had any troubles in 4 or so years.
I've always been treated ok but the staff are definitely not the most friendly I've ever come across. But I guess besides giving them only 3 , they always have my favorite beer. A bit pricier than my neighborhood B.C. Liquor store, but this particular B.C. Liquor Store does not sell my brand of beer. …
My fave place to buy alcohol in the Gastown, Chinatown area. They love my little dog, remember his name and always give him treats! ❤️ Great selection, great hours and most importantly, awesome customer service from Troy specifically! He’s super friendly, helpful, happy... he is THE BEST!!!
Absolutely horrible service, the "manager" acted in a total rude, and unprofessional manner. He treated me as if I was a lower class citizen to him with a snappy gross tone. As a buisness owner I would be disgusted, and ashamed if my employees treated customers in such away. Never returning
awesome selection, except cross town could use more Irish cream type booze, like "Ryan's"... For real though, this is an awesome establishment, just make sure to sign up and receive your discount for frequent purchases, it sure makes a difference, and makes it worth while to shop there!
Disrespectful punks working there not only refuse to deal with someone medically exempt but go on to berate and name call them. The customer wasn't even making an issue out of it. They asked if there was an alternate way to be served and was further bullied and left peasably
Friendly staff and tax is included in the price. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy as there are alot of street people but the shop’s interior is quite good. I bought a bottle of white wine and also wanted to drink a can of beer but seems like they only sell six packs.
I am a construction worker and I look like a construction worker and I have been treated badly at your store for looking like a construction worker. I am an honest hard working man and I don't appreciate being treated badly because of what I look like.
Great store! They got all the craft beer you want, if it’s a new craft you wanna try or your go to beer. Shelves are stocked and always kept cold in the cooler & a cold beers a good beer :) the staffs also fun and friendly!! Recommend shopping here!
I'm not sure why the last two people had such bad experiences. Sounds like it may be something personal. Did you forget your IDs guys? Haha just kidding. Crosstown has a SERIOUS selection of craft beer and I found everyone that works there
Great selection, staff are friendly, hours of operation handy. Open xmas day, which I'm sure some can attest to, is much appreciated. No family or friends were injured during the making of dinner or present opening this year! …
Friendly staff, fantastic selection. The only complaints I have is 1.The area and locals hanging out in front and 2. The price, definitely more expensive than my local booze shack. Definitely good in a pinch if you need some alcohol.
Crosstown is my local, the staff in there are super friendly! I get great advice on wines to try, whether it be high end or bang for my buck. The selection of wines, beers and spirits is good, it's convenient, why go anywhere else?!
Parkng for short periods outside the store. Wheelchair access, instore shopping. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. Great stock of just about every kind of liquor including great selection of wines and beer. No public restrooms.
Great selection of fine wines and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about wine, I needed to pick something special for a dinner I hosted and my guests were extremely impressed. I recommend this business.
Everything here is overpriced. They also don't allow any returns after items leave the store. Tried refunding a bottle of vodka less than a week after purchase but apparently it's against company policy to do so
Prob the friendliest liquor store in the world ! Been going there for 8 years . Staff always so help helpful with any questions you have . Always lots of staff to give you a hand . Great job Cross Town Liquor
This is our neighborhood liquor store so we frequent this business. The service is always adequate nothing outstanding they do their job. Just like any other liquor store. Well stocked with not a bad variety
It's the only option in this area. There a bit pricey. They do have a good selection of craft beer. The wine selection is limited. The staff are great!!! The know a lot about the products they sell.
Best cold beer and wine store I've ever bought alcohol from. They have a points system that to my surprise I earned $15 dollars cash after buying my last 12 beers from there. Very cool.
Despite the seedy neighborhood, this store is actually really nice inside. Staff are friendly, and knowledgeable. I had nothing shy of an easy shopping experience here. - 5 Stars
I prefer going here because it's walking distance, lots of selection, they have a points/reward system. It is a bit pricier than the BC liquor store but less pricey than Astoria.
Just turned 19 and it was my first time buying liquor. The manager profiled me and was very rude. Not going back there ever again. Staff and manager needs training
I paid 18 dollars for a big cheap cider and a big cheap beer.. looks like there is 100% tax or idk what happened (make sure to get your ticket)
This liquor store is in a very handy location, I'll give it that. HOWEVER, complete deal breaker: The staff. Usually they aren't ACTIVELY rude
Yo the best place that's really convenient for a quick pick up before heading off into the yonder of vancouver. Issy is the best tho
Was a good experience. One employee was really helpful to me with all the information about the product that I want to purchase. Thank you
Not busy and lots of different single kinds of beer and coolers and hard seltsers. You can collect points now ask for a points card.
Loved the atmosphere, Isabelle especially made my experience great helped me find what I was looking for fast and efficiently!
Large selection of alcohol with prices to fit your budget with well trained staff to help you with your selection of alcohol.
If I could leave a 0 star I would, manager was very rude and profiled me , he had a compass tattoo on his arm if that helps!
Friendly, helpful staff and a surprisingly good selection of local and import beers make Crosstown well worth a visit.
Best place in Vancouver for your liquor needs. Big selection, and great staff.. always s pleasure shopping there!
Well organized store good friendly staff with fast customer service Very nice selection of beer and wine
Store has a great selection of different beer, wine and coolers with super friendly staff.
Great convenience and reasonable prices with friendly staff. What more could you ask for!
Great location and nice staff. Reasonable prices. Needs more coolers and single cans
The staff was amazing, the manager was very helpful as well. Will be back
