#सेठ_रामदास_जी_गुड़वाला-1857 के महान क्रांतिकारी व दानवीर सेठ रामदास जी गुड़वाला दिल्ली के अरबपति सेठ और बैंकर थे और अंतिम मुग़ल बादशाह बहादुर शाह जफर के गहरे दोस्त थे। इनका जन्म #अग्रवाल_परिवार में हुआ था। इनके परिवार ने दिल्ली क्लॉथ मिल्स की स्थापना की थी। उस समय मुग़ल दरबार की आर्थिक स्थिति काफी दयनीय थी। अधिकांश मुग़ल सरदार बादशाह को नीचा दिखाने वाले थे । अनेक मुस्लिम सरदार गुप्त रूप से अंग्रेजों से मिले हुए थे। ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी के कुचक्रों से बादशाह बेहद परेशान थे। एक दिन वे अपनी खास बैठक में बड़े बेचैन हो उदास होकर घूम रहे थे। उसी समय सेठ रामदास गुड़वाला जी वहाँ पहुंच गए और हर प्रकार से अपने मित्र बादशाह को सांत्वना दी। उन्होंने बादशाह को कायरता छोड़कर सन्नद्ध हो क्रांति के लिए तैयार किया, परंतु बादशाह ने खराब आर्थिक स्थिति को देखते हुए असमर्थता प्रकट की। सेठ जी ने तुरंत 3 करोड़ रुपये बादशाह को देने का प्रस्ताव रखा। इस धन से क्रांतिकारी सेना तैयार की। सेठ जी जिन्होंने अभी तक साहूकारी और व्यापार ही किया था, सेना व खुफिया विभाग के संघठन का कार्य भी प्रारंभ कर दिया। उनकी संघठन की शक्ति को देखकर अंग्रेज़ सेनापति भी दंग हो गए लेकिन दुःख है की बादशाह के अधिकांश दरबारी दगाबाज निकले जो अंग्रेजों को सारा भेद बता देते थे। फिर भी वे निराश नहीं हुए। सारे उत्तर भारत में उन्होंने जासूसों का जाल बिछा दिया और अनेक सैनिक छावनियों से गुप्त संपर्क किया। उन्होंने भीतर ही भीतर एक शक्तिशाली सेना व गुप्तचर संघठन का निर्माण किया। देश के कोने कोने में गुप्तचर भेजे व छोटे से छोटे मनसबदार और राजाओं से प्रार्थना की इस संकट काल में सम्राट की मदद कर देश को स्वतंत्र करवाएं। सेठ रामदास गुड़वाला जी ने अंग्रेजों की सेना में भारतीय सिपाहियों को आजादी का संदेश भेजा और क्रांतिकारियों ने निश्चित समय पर उनकी सहायता का वचन भी दिया। यह भी कहा जाता है की क्रांतिकारियों द्वारा मेरठ व दिल्ली में क्रांति का झंडा खड़ा करने में गुड़वाला का प्रमुख हाथ था। गुड़वाला की इस प्रकार की क्रांतिकारी गतिविधयिओं से अंग्रेज़ शासन व अधिकारी बहुत चिंतित हुए। सर जॉन लॉरेन्स आदि सेनापतियों ने गुड़वाला को अपनी तरफ मिलने का बहुत प्रयास किया लेकिन वो अग्रेंजो से बात करने को भी तैयार नहीं हुए। इस पर अंग्रेज़ अधिकारियों ने मीटिंग बुलाई और सभी ने एक स्वर में कहा की गुड़वाला की इस तरह की क्रांतिकारी गतिविधयिओं से हमारे भारत पर शासन करने का स्वप्न चूर ही जाएगा । अतः इसे पकड़ कर इसकी जीवनलीला समाप्त करना बहुत जरूरी है । सेठ रामदास जी गुड़वाला को धोके से पकड़ा गया और जिस तरह मारा गया वो क्रूरता की मिसाल है। पहले उनपर शिकारी कुत्ते छुड़वाए गए उसके बाद उन्हें उसी घायल अवस्था में चांदनी चौक की कोतवाली के सामने फांसी पर लटका दिया गया। इस तरह अरबपति सेठ रामदास गुड़वाला जी ने देश की आजादी के लिए अपनी अकूत संपत्ति और अपना जीवन मातृभूमि के लिए हंसते हंसते न्योछावर कर दिया । सुप्रसिद्ध इतिहासकार ताराचंद ने अपनी पुस्तक 'हिस्ट्री ऑफ फ्रीडम मूवमेंट' में लिखा है - "सेठ रामदास गुड़वाला उत्तर भारत के सबसे धनी सेठ थे। अंग्रेजों के विचार से उनके पास असंख्य मोती, हीरे व जवाहरात व अकूत संपत्ति थी। वह मुग़ल बादशाहों से भी अधिक धनी थे। यूरोप के बाजारों में भी उसकी साहूकारी का डंका बजता था।" परंतु भारतीय इतिहास में उनका जो स्थान है वो उनकी अतुलनीय संपत्ति की वजह से नहीं बल्कि स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में अपना सर्वस्व न्योछावर करने की वजह से है। वह मंगल पांडेय से भी पहले देश की आजादी के लिए शहीद हुए थे इस तरह उनका जीवन भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के इतिहास में स्वर्ण अक्षरों से लिखने योग्य है। दिल्ली की विधानसभा के गलियारे में उनके बलिदान के बारे में चित्र लगा है। साभार- पं गोविंद लाल पुरोहित जी की पुस्तक 'स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के इतिहास' संग्रहकर्ता :- अग्रवाल गौरव, प्रखर अग्रवाल दिनांक :- १०.०५.२०२१ ---#राज_सिंह---
