Awful service, awful advice, awful customer service. We took my boyfriends car here for a service. Immediately after the service we noticed an unusual rattling sound coming from the car when driving it. It was very obvious that the service had somehow caused a change in the cars functioning. My boyfriend enquired about the sound with the mechanic a few weeks later (he uses the car for work so it was difficult to get there any earlier) and the problem was dismissed as 'nothing' and told that the mechanic didn't need to take a look at it. I believe it was careless and lazy of the mechanic to not even take the car for a small drive to asses the complaint. We continued driving it, even though it didn't feel right, we trusted the mechanics advice. A few weeks later my boyfriend was driving and the rear wheel started smoking and made a large bang, then skid along the road to stop completely. The situation was very dangerous and the car needed to be towed back to the mechanic. The damage was quoted as costing $2000 to fix. The DPM team initially were willing to take some responsibility, but then completely backflipped - causing my boyfriend to be $2000 out of pocket to fix the car. It caused a huge amount of stress, especially for someone who has just started their own small business, a functioning car is imperative and cash flow is stressful. It was disappointing, particularly knowing that we had trusted them and their advice and quality of service, as well as feeling like they were taking advantage of us just because they had more knowledge of cars in general and could talk their way out of taking some kind of responsibility.

Nothing wrong with my car before I took it in for a routine service - got the car back with a noise coming from the rear right wheel and an ABS fault light indicator on the dash. When I took the car back to ask them to look at what might be the cause, the mechanic manually cleared the dash fault and suggested the noise was "nothing to worry about" and to "maybe bring it back if the light comes back on". He didn't so much as take the car for a drive, nor put it on the hoist. Poor, poor service. Turns out my wheel bearings came loose which then caused the ABS fault indicator to come on. My new mechanic was able to diagnose this over the phone, later confirming it when looking at the vehicle. My car's differential snapped and the car smoked then skidded to a stop (DPM blamed the weight of my load in the back). I contacted Ford and they informed me the car was rated to carry a 500kg load in the boot. I then weighed my tools and they came in at under 200kg. After the incident I was told that they would take (some) responsibility, and that they would offer to cover half of the $2000 repair cost. With the stress and time it took with entire matter, I reluctantly accepted the offer a few days later, to which I was then told that the offer was off the table and I'd have to take it up with VCAT if there was any desire to take it further. STRONGLY SUGGEST TO AVOID THIS MECHANIC.

Incompetent employees unable to work on vehicles as advertised (eg.BMW) When first picking up my car worker was unable to tell me exactly what work was done to my car but knew exactly what money to take from me. Drove away and the car was in worse condition than when I dropped it off. I then contacted the owner and was told to bring my car back. After paying more money again I picked my car up for a second time and this time it was ok. A few weeks later I called DPM to book my car in for some extra work to be done. I was told by the owner (MICHAEL) NOT to bring my car to DPM service centre any more as his own employees do not feel comfortable working on my BMW as they fear of complaints when work is not done correctly. DISGUSTED IN THE UNPROFESSIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Initially booked my car in to get a roadworthy, they weren't open when I needed to drop it off but made arrangements so I could still get to work on time. I then spoke with them after they went to begin the RWC and they advised me that the car would fail as there was a crack in the headlight plastic casing (Vic roads regulations!). They told me this before continuing with the rest of the service and asked me if I still wanted to go ahead. They didn't charge me anything and still maintained my car parking in the middle of Richmond so I didn't get a parking fine. Honest and easy to deal with. Thanks

I would definitely recommend this place for backpackers! We bought a cheap car without road worthy and went to DPM the same day as they've checked our car! So if you're in a hurry or want to leave Melbourne soon go there! Our car had some huge damages so we failed the road worthy Test but one of the employees helped us out and guided us through the next burecaucratic steps so we won't lose all of our money! Thanks again for the great support and honesty!
