Nice looking little restaurant as you approach. Our service was lacking at best, and food was simply ok, when it comes to flavor. Size portions on the skimpy side. We ordered 2 prime rib dips, and a mushroom swiss burger. Prime rib Dips ordered one without horseradish, and one with. The prime rib dips slightly over cooked, and my sandwich was lacking on meat, and that meat was fatty. Onion rings are good, but quantity served on the plate was not worth an up-charge. The mushroom swiss burger had good flavor, but the patty was on the small side, and the onion rings on the plate also not worth the up-charge. When it comes to service, our server seemed to be in a hurry, got us our drinks, took our order, then like a magic act disappeared till the end of our meal. Another waitress delivered the food to our table, and left. I recognized my sandwich was missing the horseradish sauce, so when I saw the waitress who delivered our food, I asked for a cup of it, and she disappeared, and had to be asked a second time. We waited longer, and my food in-turn, became cold before I received the horse radish sauce. Our drinks went empty, and refills came several minutes after, and one refill was all we got. our waitress finally came back to our table at the end of our dinner, delivered the check. We came to this restaurant, after seeing the great reviews, maybe it was just a bad night, however I doubt we will return.

Too bad zero stars is not an option. Worst meal I have ever had in Albuquerque. Seriously everything was gross. I question whether the good reviews for this place are from people who have never dined out or who have been eating dog food their whole lives. Artichoke dip was just cream cheese or sour cream and artichokes. Turkey sandwich was a couple big chunks of dried out gross turkey. Looked like it was leftover from last thanksgiving (it's July). Side of mash potatoes with salmon was slathered in beef gravy. Request for a replacement side never came. Who puts meat gravy on mashed potatoes on an obviously meat free meal? We ran out of water and could not ever get a refill. I really don't ever care about bad service, but a refill of water is not that hard to do. Never been so thirsty during a meal. Also not hard to bring the promised sides that never came. I have never in my life left no tip until today. Disgusting food plus terrible service. They are lucky we even paid for the meal it was so so bad. We are all still hungry and will have to make something at home now. Saturday night out to dinner ruined. Salmon was dry and tasted awful. Pot roast tasted like jerky and the potatoes were still hard. My son's cheeseburger looked awful but he is 7 so ate it without complaint. Stay away. Far away.

We’ve come twice now and the place is nice inside. Staff are very friendly. Food is good but would be a lot better if it was at least warm. Both times I’ve had the young at heart and the eggs were hard and cold. The pancakes are the bomb here, but again cold. The potato’s were great the first time but the 2nd time cooked but not browned on the outside. Both times we have gone, staff are not very attentive to checking to see if you’re doing ok on drinks. My daughter and son-in-law ordered their cocktails which didn’t come until the food was out (30 min) Enough of the staff and manager were standing at the end of the bar and looking around, which in my experience would be better served walking around and checking on diners. We’ll give it another try sometime but we do have a favorite place where we get all of that and have never been disappointed.

This is not a cliche, stereotypical NM grill. It’s fresh and imaginative. The menu is full service and as broad as it is deep. Everyone should be able to find there next new favorite here. I came in for brunch. I had the salmon scramble and whiskey banana walnut pancakes with vanilla ice cream. The scramble was excellent. Nothing overcooked and both the salmon and the artichoke were the main flavor features of the dish. The pancakes were more than I could finish, being a full dish on their own. They were fluffy, rich and satisfying. The owner (Dave) was at the store attending carefully to his staff and patrons. He’s friendly and personable. I believe his culinary passion and experience is demonstrated in the quality food prepared and served by his quality staff. I highly recommend Dave’s grill. I will definitely bring my friend here.

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and were able to get a seat right away even though most tables were full. The booths along the back of the restaurant look cozy and it looks like there will be a nice patio space once the weather warms up. Our server was friendly and kept our drinks full. It took a little while for our food to come out but when it did it was piping hot. Next time we want to save room for dessert or just come for dessert because the dessert menu looks amazing. The menu is large and everyone should be able to find something they like. Brunch is served until 2:00.

I mostly go to Dave's for breakfast, but have been for dinner once. The food is very good but can be heavy. The carne asada Benedict (OMG the green Chile cheese biscuits and cilantro lime hollandaise...so good) and the shrimp and grits bowl are two of my favorites. The coffee is strong and the patio is lovely! We love Devon on Wednesday mornings and Lauren on Sunday mornings. I've only been once for dinner and I had the Wahoo which was fabulous. We went on Fathers day so it's difficult to comment on the service on a day like that - it was definitely busier and service was not quite what we were used to from this little gem of a restaurant, but forgivable considering the day. Owner and manager are great as well - always stopping by the table to make sure everything is OK - and frequently delivering food to tables and/or bussing when they get busy.

Heard so many good things about the Vally location that we wanted to try the location in the heights. My partner ordered the Charleston Shrimp and cheese grits and it was very delicious. The grits were creamy without being overly buttery. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. Plentiful portion size too. I had the country fried steak with green Chile gravy. My steak was overly tough. Not enough love was put into the preparation of the meat. Plus it was a very small portion. We both tried the green Chile drop biscuits. They were dense and not fluffy or flaky. Not very flavorful either. Service is spotty. Our server was inattentive. Refills of water and coffee were slow. However, other servers seemed very attentive. It took over 30 minutes to get our bill once someone cleared our table.

After being here a few times now. I would recommend this place. They have great happy hour specials from 3-5pm. Great drinks, apps (queso and chips, pretzel, quesadilla, too name a few), burgers, fish and chips (which is generally not my go to), egg benedicts, mac and cheese. I've also been impressed with how fresh the sides of fruit are as well. Overall if you are looking for a tasty meal, look no further, this place has a large selection but do a great job. My only complaint is sunday mornings are a bit busier, so the service times can vary at that time. Outside of that the service is usually quick most times.

My family and I had a great time at Dave’s the food was amazing I had the country breakfast bowl and the flavors were delicious and wow the portions are huge! The food was brought out in a really good time and our orders were correct and looked amazing. We also got the peach cobbler It was served in a cast-iron skillet the presentation was impeccable, It was delicious and It was big enough for the whole table. Our server was really nice, he made sure we were taken care of, he was polite and pleasant to talk to. Overall, my family and I had a great experience at Dave’s looking forward to going again, and will definitely be recommending.

Our waiter was good, but the manager was rude. The manager doesn't seem to like families with children or big parties. The manager seemed very annoyed with us. Went on father's day and had horrible service and decent food. This was our third time going, as we kept thinking maybe they just needed more time to get their acts together but it just has to be poor management. The service is slow and not good. They insist on making you wait for your whole party to arrive to be seated, even when they are dead. And their food is very hit or miss. Only thing I recommend is a burger and fries. It took us almost two hours to eat. The waitress took quite some time to greet us and half the table left while we waited for our check. Unfortunately I do not recommend.

We enjoyed brunch on the patio on a Sunday morning with Devin as our server. Everything was lovely, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the service was excellent. Avocado Toast, grilled prime rib omelette, huevos, and a breakfast bowl with potatoes, eggs, chili, etc. were all enjoyed at our table. (The narrow, steel chairs were uncomfortable, so next time we'll choose to eat inside.)

We live in the neighborhood and have had several excellent experiences at your restaurant. We brought our balloon crew of around 20 people in for breakfast after a flight, and were one of four tables. Our waiter was exceptionally rude, the food was not as described on the menu, one mamosa was served without champagne. The waiter said they ran out of champagne then later brought some to the table. We had very long waits between arriving and service. It was a very dissatisfactory experience. Would not recommend this place.

Food very tasty and had great visit with family, however our brunch portions were tiny! My burrito was the size of a kid’s burrito. I had to order a couple extra sides to make sure it would fill me up. I felt bad for my dad…he ordered the huevos rancheros and the corn tortilla was the tiniest I’d ever seen with just an ok serving of potatoes and beans. And only one slice of toast. He only eats one meal a day and I asked him if that was enough food. If the portions don’t increase (it’s ok if the price increases accordingly) then we may have to consider going elsewhere. Other than that, the service was great and the food came out fast.

Service was the absolute worst. Asked to b moved to a different table and guy with beard and earrings made a statement about if their not happy with this table then they this table will definitely not be good enough for them. Customers waiting up front and not being greated nor sat. Staff ignoring all of the guest needs including ours. Sad part was Dave the owner was there and he had saw and heard everything and had no compassion for guest needs or cared how his staff were speaking. Will NEVER go there again.

I'm very excited about the new restaurant in this spot. Waitstaff was attentive and kind. I went in for brunch with a friend first. The salmon scramble was delicious (I was a bit sad I couldn't order the grits without cheese but thats ok) I truly enjoyed it so much went back for dinner with my kids. This is not a fake review!! Went to the High Desert Dave’s Grill for Father’s Day and had the worst experience ever!! The service was horrible! We sat there for over 1 hour with no service except for the first glass of water. Three tables came and went with no service to our table. We finally got the attention of the manager and he explained that there was a computer glitch. Still 15 minutes later no service whatsoever. Not even a refill on water. Do not wait your time here!!

Had lunch with friends last Thursday at Dave's new location and it was incredible! The restaurant layout, bar, and patio all have the special Dave touch...well done! The food and service were what you would expect at one of Dave's restaurants...fantastic. We had salads and they were fresh and delicious. The Pear & Brie salad is my all time favorite. I love this place! Best happy hour in Albuquerque. The atmosphere is calm and fun. I recommend the pear and Brie salad, the loaded fries smothered with red Chile, the fish and chips (for happy hour), and fajitas. There’s still so much to try, and the drinks are great as well!

We had lunch with friends. It was perfect. The food was very good. The helpings might be too large for some folks. I found them on target. My lunch was just right except I didn't have room to try a dessert. There's a nice selection of local brews and cocktails. The staff was very friendly and informative. My only other complaint is that the sign for the place is too small.

I am actually happy that the new place that took over the last was amazing! The staff was amazing and attentive. Devin was fun and made sure we were taken care of! I almost decided to never come after the old place closed down. But I really love the atmosphere and the New Mexican breakfast was amazing!

Everyone was warm and friendly! I got the Bourbon Barbecue Meatloaf sandwich and it was delicious. One of my dining buddies got the Dave’s Laid Back Lager which was really good. We completely recommend Dave’s!

Love the blue corn blueberry pinion pancakes! My daughter said the fish tacos were the best she’s tried. This restaurant has great service, beautiful atmosphere and is very clean.

Come most Saturdays and always have a pleasant/accommodating experience. I'm gluten sensitive and they have gluten free bread/buns. Staff is super friendly and willing to help. Definitely give it a shot if you haven't.

We have been long time customers of the valley and now high desert. Dave cares about all his customers and works hard to make the experience and ambiance as enjoyable the food. We go every Saturday and Sunday morning. Staff is friendly are care. Food is great! More

Dave is so sweet! Greeted us at the door with a positive attitude. The food is also delicious. Got the black angus steak sandwich and it was very quality. Definitely worth the price.

Food was amazing! We ordered quiche (7/10), lobster and artichoke eggs Benedict (10/10 highly recommend holy moly!), and the country fried steak (10/10!!). During brunch, atmosphere is light and some good oldies are playing! Staff is super friendly.
