David Centeno is the worst.  I hired him to represent me in my divorce.  I live in California now and was married in New York.  David and I agreed that he may have to call my wife and use what ever lawyerly charm he may have to cajole her to sign the divorce papers.  After I paid The down payment his assistant said they don't make phone calls on clients behave.  What lawyer refuses to make calls on the client's behave?  Especially when it was agreed to prior to hiring the attorney. I would constantly have to call to make sure things are getting done and he would call back days later to return my call.  I hired him to serve my wife the divorce papers and I would call to check on the status and his assistant gave me the, 'Don't call us, we'll call you' type of answer.  It's bad enough that, in my opinion, he grossly over charges for the personal service but then he doesn't produce to even come close to justifying the charge. He claims 30 days for a divorce then also falsely claims he has some type of closely held method for doing it but his "secret" is he files in Buffalo where the case loads are not as heavy as in New York City. Long story short I had to fire him.  I tried to give him a chance to make things right but he had the nerve to try and require me to sign a document to not write bad reviews about him.  As you can see I did not agree to that ludicrous request. He has a review on here where the guy wrote a poor review in 2014 and David answered it in 2017.  Three years later!  What does that tell you?  What's the use of answering now?  The guy could have, God forbid, passed away by now. Do yourself a favor and do not hire David Centeno.

Not at all sure how there are so many positive reviews, all I could say is that I wish I had been one of them. As much as I wanted things to work with Mr Centeno, unfortunately it did not. Cons: I had to provide all documentation rather than the lawyer obtaining them himself. I mostly spoke to Holly, but when I did speak to Mr Centeno it was never pleasant. Initially I paid $1200, not including notarizing the documents and mailing it back to them, a few months down the line they requested an additional $640 (which I also paid) and lastly a few weeks before my case got "thrown out" even though I paid for an extension [another con] I was asked to pay another $400. I refused to pay that last fee and they somehow now could "continue" the case, only for me to get an email a week later saying that its too late and filed in the wrong county. Needless to say, I will not be going back nor recommending anyone. This experience made me question every lawyer I approach now. STEER CLEAR unless you want to be scammed.

David and his staff are the best. This is the second time I utilized his services and I can't but help it to think his service improved. The speed at which I received responses and updates impressed me. Same day, same hour for processing and submitting paperwork. This was a big issue with covid and the court closure. They must have had my court documents in the queue because the day the court reopened we were moving forward and the courts had a huge backlog. The staff also took time to ensure that i understood all the legal jargon and elaborated if I had questions. Anyone else would most likely be a waste of time and money. If I were rich I would have him on retainer. I think his site says two or three months, but start to finish for me it felt like under a month. If the virus weren't in effect I think it would have been faster.

When David Centeno tells you he can get you divorce in 30 days, believe it he can! I remember contacting them around the 18th of Dec... On January 1st I had all the forms needed to be signed and by the 15th of January I was divorced. They are so efficient, constantly sending me emails to keep me updated, all my questions were answered and all the time I call just because I couldn't understand something, his team answered right away and in a very friendly manner help me. No words to express how thankful I am. I got to closed this book of my life without needing to go through any court visits or dilemmas. They handle everything!!! They attempted to find my husband initially and when they were unable to, they successfully completed the publication divorce. Unfortunately very unprofessional/rude lawyer. We were initially scheduled for a phone call. Seeing it’s 15mins behind the scheduled call. I called the office asking if it was today and if we were still on. David called me back less than 2minutes after that very much so annoyed. I didn’t even finished to explain my case that he had sent a declination of representation before even the end of the phone call. I guess calling and asking if the call was in fact today and at what time what a push over for him. No loss here. I wouldn’t want to have a lawyer that you can’t ask things to because he will give you the nastiest attitude ever.

When during the case I had to call to know about my case cause they wouldn’t move forward, seems like as if they would’ve left my case aside to work in new ones, every time I was calling them I would find out about something they should’ve told me months ago! I lost so much time about a year and a half! My case was one that my wife didn’t sign but still the whole process took about a year and a half which is insane! Maybe if you have an easy case that both parties agree and sign this form would work but my personal experience was not good at all.

I call this lawyer for a divorce case and he was so rude over the phone and hang up on me, they didn’t let me explain the situation and kept interrupting when I was answering and talking. Now the “lawyer” is saying he did not hang on me but I can show anyone that he did, he also asked me how much I do a year and how many properties I have, did not listen to what I have to say and keep interrupting me when I speak, So rude, A sus órdenes rude. Will not call them again, they only asked for money $7500.00 for fees and $450.00 an hour ! My god !

30 day divorce is accurate. We provided our information on December 3 to David via his website. With a few corrections it was filed December 24. The decree was signed January 9. Amazing speed. It was an uncontested action with minor children where we agreed on everything in advance. His staff was quick to respond. David knows his stuff. Worth using. Having a flat rate is also a good point.
