Dematagoda Railway Station

Dematagoda railway station is a railway station in Sri Lanka Railways and 3rd station on the Main line from Colombo fort. Railway station is located at 4.54 km away from Colombo Fort and between Maradana railway station and Kelaniya railway station, Colombo district in western Province. Station has 3 platform and slow trains and several long distance trains are stop at the station. Elevation of the station is 3.05m height above mean sea level. There is a very long queue for train tickets at the busy times.only available one ticket counter. Mostly I missed the train while waiting at the tickets queue. At least two ticket counters required for this place. worst railway station I ever seen. Very poor maintenance. Looks there is no washroom facilities in here. Also most of the times that tickets counter people cheating balance after issuing the tickets. Always need to be careful about that.

Dematagoda is a suburb in Colombo, Sri Lanka represented by divisional code 9 (Colombo 09). It is surrounded by the Borella, the Maradana and the Kolonnawa. The Baseline Road passes through the Dematagoda. For most people easy accsess for train facility since station located facing the main road.one of the busiest station in colombo with verry little facility.there are only 3 platforms for around 2000 passesngers.

One of the busiest railway stations in colombo. Very busy in commute times even there are chairs they are not enough for the crowd all the time. It helps people in colombo to travel quickly to other cities. The place needs more infrastructure and developments. Please be careful at night because the lights in the place are not much powerful to fight the darkness.

Crowded sub railway station between Maradana and Kelaniya. Most of the express trains are stopping here except Intercity express trains and some long distance trains. This is a basic train stop. Mainly office trains and slow trains are stopping at this station. Most of express and intercity trains are not stopping here. There is only one conter for issuing tickets . Therefore , there is a que during rush hours . This is convenient station to access Baseline road, Boralla, Orugodawatta areas .

a sub railway station in the main railway line and located in colombo district. a highly congested place in office hours and long queues for take tickets at evening hours. after refurbishment, now some facilities have been upgraded. but still not enough seating capacity. good bus connectivity due the baseline road.

The station itself is decent. Train schedules are on the Internet & is reasonably on time. Best public transportation method to travel if your destination lies in line with the station network. Surely beats busses any day. (4 stars for the station, not for the train service)

One of the popular & crowded railway stations around Colombo area. Trains are never on time (usual with SL train networks) No display for train times or delays. DO NOT USE THE SEATS. It is full of Bed Bugs which will leave you with lots of bite marks on you.

One of the busiest railway station of main railway line next to Maradana Railway Station. But only 3 platforms to facilitate thousands of railway passengers. Very busy in the morning office hours and evening office hours.

චොරම ස්ටේෂන් එකක. 6.30 පස්සේ එන කෝච්චි යන්නෙ කොහෙද කියන්න කෙනෙක් නෑ. කිලෝමීටරයක් දිග ප්ලැට්ෆෝම් එකටම තියෙන්නේ පොඩි වහලෙක්. වැස්සොත් සොරි. එකක් හදලා, අනික බාගෙට, ලයිට් නෑ. ටෙලිපෝන් නම්බර් එකක් නෑ. අනේ මන්දා.

This is one of busiest train station but facilities are not enough. Atleast there are not enough chairs for passengers. Almost every office train is stopping here where you can go by main railway line.

Another railway station that is run down. No public facilities. Very dirty. Unprofessional staff. Expect long queues, delays and cancellations. Can easily reach base line road from this station

I suppose it's a major railway station in Sri Lanka. But if u see my video, u will notice that the building / pavillion area is somewhat small.

One of the busiest railway station in Main line. Lots of Office staffs use this station. All major office trains & commutor trains stop here.

Most of the slow trains as well as semi express trains both in main railway line and puththalama line stops here.
