This used to be a great pharmacy but has definitely gone downhill. I needed a specific medication, when I called and asked if they carried stock I was told no but we can order it in for you. They advised me it took 3 days and I needed it for the 4th day, sent the script in - no response. Followed up with 2 calls the next day, no one had yet ordered the medication but they told me they would sort it out and let me know when it arrived. I called on the 4th day, they said they'd call me back and then when they do I find out they had only then called in the order and just found out they could not get stock. It was very urgent that I had that medication and if they had bothered to call the order in on the day I sent the script I could have found another solution, but their excuses and laziness left me in a very bad situation. Then the following week I get a notification from the medical aid that they had charged me for the medicine they didn't even have and had obviously not given me. More time wasted to call them and request the refund. And again more excuses and passing the buck onto someone else. Will never use this pharmacy again

Wynberg Pharmacy is super helpful. The staff are very eager to assist and they've managed to keep some of that old school fashioned temperament of the neighbourhood pharmacist. They indeed are doing their best to accommodate and keep their clients happy, with regards to the location. The pros of this pharmacy are they are open until late, always have stock of my medication, they have a rewards system which is good, they deliver, and have a private parking with a semi secure entrance so that one is not exposed to the danger of the street and area which brings me to their cons. Wynberg Pharmacy is in a slightly rough part of town. But being vigilant and utilising the entrance and parking will keep you safe. Unfortunately their medication and dispensing fees are also quite high and they cannot beat the likes of clinical pharmacies like Dischem or Clicks. Lastly, and this is a toss up. The system is fairly archaic. The queuing is not mechanised. But it does make it somewhat old world bijoux. Be prepared to wait. But then again, they have loads to view and buy!

Came in to get small 2 items (non prescription) on my medical aid. Gave my card, and the items I wanted and was told to wait. Then for some reason I waited 30 minutes after which I got up and asked one of the consultants what’s the hold up. I’m fairly patient but that was borderline ridiculous. They then said they would put through my items soon, to which I said I just want my medical aid card back so that I can rather get the same items at Clicks, much quicker and probably much cheaper too. What a waste of my 30 minutes. I don’t mind waiting, especially if it’s prescriptions but this was insane. Not the first time I waited a bit for meds (prescriptions) but this is the last time I get stuff at this pharmacy. And I’m not exaggerating regarding the wait. I’m actually being modest here. Im so cheesed actually that I’m writing this review from my car outside the pharmacy because this will be the last time I stop here. I don’t know what system this pharmacy has got going here but surely they got to get out of the 18th century.

We had such a terrible experience today with this Pharmacy. We called in at 8:05 to place an order. The order was apparently dispatched at 8:30 for delivery and it never arrived. After numerous calls I was put on hold or they went to ‘find out’ each time. We waited. At 1pm we had to arrange to fetch it as we were both so sick and couldn’t wait any longer. This defeats the point of delivery. I called in and was put on hold for fifteen minutes - the first person who answered went to find out about the parcel and the second answered after her and after I had explained said ‘how can I help you?’ Terrible communication, the person was not the original person we dealt with on the WhatsApp line. They told me the parcel was out for delivery at 10:51 on WhatsApp. Where is the communication and client service? Utter waste of time

I just came from Wynberg Pharmacy. The Pharmacist who assisted was most friendly and helpful. The new cashier, Andrea was very patient and tried her utmost and so was tge other 2 lady cashiers. However the male cashier was most arrogant and rude and when Andrea asked for his assistance he refused and told her in a very abrupt and rude manner, that he can't he does not have time. He was an old man who was at the last til. Is that the manner to treat your colleagues in front of customers. I was waiting for more than 15 minutes because the other staff said she should ask him, only to be brushed aside like that. She then had to call the supervisor to assist her. I wish Andrea all the best and may she become successful. The rude arrogant male cashier should really go for customer training.

Went to get specific cream for my daughter, was told (after waiting 45mins at dispensery) that they didnt have stock. I could however pay and they will order it and call us within a day or 2 to collect. We called after 2 days, was told person dealing with orders was on lunch, but will follow up and get back to us... no feedback. A day later we get a call that they will not be getting stock for whatever reason.. so now I have to go back to get my script and refund... shocking waste of time! and all the while my daughter had to go without the cream we urgently needed. Bleh

Sorry Wynberg Pharmacy but seriously, you close at 8pm, I was outside your gate/door at 7:55pm and your Security Guard shut the door in my face. Is this how things are going to be now that Dischem has taken over Wynberg Pharmacy. All I needed to get was Nurofen for my child. Disgusted, in your security guards words (who is also an employee of Duschem)“not today, we are closed”. Goodbye to a loyal customer, have a good night, perhaps change your hours to 7:55pm and I won’t rush to get to your pharmacy when I realised I ran out of medication.

I just got discharged from hospital came to collect some items, I still have my wrist straps on, yet I must probably faint first while waiting in a queue.. Asked the a available if they could consider helping as I feel faint and already standing in queue for half hour as there are no seats, the answer is No to consideration for anything. I couldnt even call in which I tried from hospital as the number doesn't work. What a horrible place, people can so easily loose sight of the industry they working in and how far empathy goes...

I went there today to buy a freezing spray it was R75 when I went to the till it changed to R199 one of the stuff was so rude saying I can't get it with that price she called the manager even their general manager told me I won't get it with that price,it was clear to me that's how they rob people and also I found them resist cz had it been I was white they were gonna give it to me ,and surprisingly that what the law says and they know it very well

The service I received from this particular staff member was just outstanding. Had respect, self awareness, went over and above for every and anything. He is the epitome of what customer service should look like. I just want to say that Johan Nel is absolutely outstanding and deserves a promotion. Not to mention how wide awake and on it he is with everything he does. Haven't received all round brilliant customer service like this in years.

I had to call four times to get through to the dispensary. Asked the lady if I could get a delivery etc. She told me to e-mail the script and someone will call me. Waiting 1 hour and 40mins for a call back just for them to tell me they don't do deliveries after 15h, even though I called and emailed way before 15h. So pathetic. By this time I had already driven to another pharmacy and got sorted. Pathetic service, they won't see me again.

I went here in desperation after struggling to find a replacement peak flow meter after my old one packed up the night before. The pharmacy assistant was extremely unhelpful and couldn't answer my questions as to whether some of my other meds would be covered by medical aid. I am highly disgruntled that such a woman as this pharmacy assistant, is allowed to interact with the public, yet she clearly doesn't want to be there.

Pharmacy is very popular and well known due to its extended operating hours.Quality services offered including blood pressure monitoring,experienced staff and expect a wait due to the number of consumers who frequent the place.Services include but are not limited to wheelchair supplies and hiring,photographic equipment,adult incontinence,medication and other products ranging from toiletries to batteries for calculators.

We have been using this Pharmacy since I was a child and it was known as Wynberg Pharmacy. Whenever you cannot find something at another pharmacy then you could be sure you would definitely find it at Wynberg Pharmacy. It truly is an institution in Cape Town. I doubt there is a person alive in Cape Town who has not heard or shopped at Wynberg Pharmacy. When it was sold, it truly was an end of an era.

Used to be my go to pharmacy..assistance at the dispensary was a breeze..but ever since the rebranding to dischem and the layout change getting assistance takes forever..been there a few times for something as simple as an anti-inflammatory, there are plenty of pharmacists wondering around behind the counter but nobody assisting anyone in a long queue. Won't see me again anytime soon for sure.

Very touch and go. More often then not there is some issue when I phone in to have my monthly medication delivered. Half the time it seems as if they just answer the phone but don’t actually put anything through into the system nor listen to my request for delivery. Collection can take up to an hour. They have some lovely and helpful staff but they also have a few sour and impatient workers.

This has been our pharmacy of choice for decades. We have seen the changes over the years. The convenience of now being able to shop for goods other than medication is a positive step. Convenient and safe parking is provided at the back of the premises. I would suggest that the busy front Main Road entrance be avoided. Safe entrance is provided after parking at the back. I will never support Wynberg Pharmacy or Dischem for that matter. First I had to wait for nearly 10min in a que to ask a simple question if the medical aid will pay for something and Dischen Pharmacy Wynberg charged me R200 for answering my question. So much for customer care. When I questioned the amount at the cashier she told me to go back to the dispensary if I am unhappy or pay up.

Terrible service. When phoning, you have to listen to discordant so called 'music' for 10 minutes and will then be cut off. On my second attempt, the employee put the phone down on me because she couldn't hear me. On attempt no. 4, the employee said she would ask the pharmacist about my life saving medicines and call me back. She didn't bother. I could have DIED!!

All right except doctors can't do much in a case of emergency they prefer too mention to the customers best you consult with a GP and the 1 that they have there doesn't assist much but refer you to hospital for minor issues like to get assistance regarding bandaging a small would. Which I think is rather lazy working ethics from there side.

Always loved the pharmacy,wonderful happy staff been with you for 30 years but been waiting 4 weeks for my Alchera sleeping pills..& no one is giving me a reason why not in stock ...I'm responding in writing as your new phone system is terrible trying to get through is a nightmare & when you do get through you get cut off...disappointed.

This store is clean and quite busy. Wheelchair friendly and the operating hours are great too. The queue was a bit long when I got there as well as the wait. I have not been around the whole store only to the pharmacy. They have a separate counter if you picking up prescription meds. Dischem always have great instore promotions.

The stock controllers are just not able to get the IV fluids right. And when one complains one is met with anger and animosity. My patients need iv fluids and this pharmacy just are not able to supply. Voicing ones concerns to management is like farting above thunder. The staff care more than management does. Such a poor show.

Still offers the accessibility and full range services of former years as Wynberg Pharmacy. Enjoy the cool, safe, free parking and the now seemingly brighter interior. Love that its now also linked to other Dischem branches, so u can top up ur script wherever is more convenient later, once its logged on their system.

Since changing hands from Wynberg Pharmacy to Medicare, the standard and availability of merchandise has dropped and the pharmacy is decidedly unhelpful. The place has become more of a supermarket than a pharmacy. A pity as they used to carry a comprehensive and varied stock of all health and medical care products.

Very disappointed with the service this morning. Went to the clinic for family planning injection only to find out the the dispensary didn't have stock. So there's no internal communication between the two departments and they can't say when they will have stock again. Very unprofessional way to run a clinic.

From one of the best pharmacies as Wynberg Pharmacy before Dischem bought them. Now the branch is so short staffed it is LITERALLY impossible to contact the dispensary, it just rings and rings. I wasted 30 minutes of airtime already over 2 days, I give up. Queues are massive since the takeover as well.

Called about 5 times and tried to get through to dispensary, no answer , please improve this service , it could be life or death Thanks to NOLENE from the front desk, she went the extra mile to find out if dispensary had the meds I require, DISCHEM do yourselves a favor and promote this individual.

They have everything medically & some other stuff as well... A plus is that they are open until 10pm, however i find that the staff always show you to the most expensive medicine & doesn't give any cheaper options even though there are cheaper options thats worked for me from other pharmacies.

Spent 20 minutes trying to convince a woman that worked there that I was a South African while she kept insisting I was not. Despjte the fact that my medical aid is South African. She refused to believe I am South African and refused to believe my home address on my medical aid was correct.

This is a large pharmacy which stocks a very extensive range of products including pharmaceutical, medical, surgical, cosmetic goods. It also has a nursing sister on duty who can be consulted for minor medical reasons. And importantly, it is open till 22:00 (possibly 22:30) 365 days a year.

When Wynberg Pharmacy was Wynberg Pharmacy customer experience was what drove the bosses who walked to floor alongside workers and customers. And that was a wonderful experience. When Wynberg Pharmacy became Dis Chem everything literally went "green". I no longer enjoy using this pharmacy.

Always get good service here though specific, needed product taking longer to get delivered nowadays, I understand why but it's frustrating when one has chronic conditions... Still love shopping here and return regularly. Want to say 5 star, when I get my product regularly... …

Safe a secure parking at the back. The pharmacy has a little bit of a new lay out however mostly there same. The old staff are all mostly still there who are helpful and friendly. 3 star for now as they are still busy with the make over and I'm not sure if it's good or bad yet.

I like this pharmacy because I always get what I want there. Not only that, they are constantly on promotion. You find some goods there that you are not going to find in any other pharmacy. Especially walking, seating aids as orthopaedic stuff. They services is just the best!

Unbelievably long, unnecessary waiting times, disorganized and disinterested pharmacists, poor unfriendly service combined with a seedy, dangerous and unsavory location leads to a stressful and nightmarish experience. Avoid if you value your sanity, wallet, health and life.

Price on shelf sticker was half the price they charged at the till. Manager refused to honour shelf price. Manager had a no care attitude. Asked for the customer care line details, manager said he doesn't know! Terrible service since it became a dischem.

Really poor service sat there for 45 minutes now waiting at the dispensary. just took my script back and left. It's not even busy its just some person chatting to the chemist. Done with this place going to move my perscriptions to another pharmacy.

Nurses on duty refused to even look at us while the sweet lady on the floor tried her utmost to help us, wife had a op on her arm an just needed assistance but your male an female nurse were not interested jus going on with there own confersation.

It was my first time at this pharmacy and I was pleasantly surprised how big the pharmacy is. There was support staff to welcome me as I stepped inside and direct me to where over-the-counter or non over-the-counter medicinal items can be found.

Unfortunately the change to Dischem has lost some of its appeal as a local family run business. The staff certainly are not as friendly. Circumstances force these changes but someone from HR needs to come support these people to adapt.

The service has always been perfect here. There is always someone to help you and the sisters on duty in the week are very helpful and full of legit knowledge. Prices are very reasonable and generally cheeper than most pharmacies.

One of the best Pharmacy's in South Africa, the staff are friendly and specialist/experts in the field. The store is big and you will find most if not all your medical requirements also look out for the specials for great prices.

Covid vaccine on Sunday. Arrived there at 8, 25 people in queue, took 7 hours to get the vaccine! Very poor management organization. Inadequate staff to deal with the numbers because of numbers registered previously?

Large pharmacy with a large variety of what you may need. I have a repeat script at the pharmacy and they send you an sms update when it's ready to be refilled. Quite efficient and reliable.

Went to buy a 4 wheel rollator for my 85year old mother-in-law. They had a large amount of stock. Desmond the Sales Assistant was very patient, knowledgeable and friendly.

The pharmacy is right by main road,opposite to the Mall,there are other shops on the side,its easy to find it because even the Entrance door is facing in the main road.
