"We first met chef Archana Nirwan over a year ago when she opened her first restaurant Naturally Desi in Rancho Bernardo and they've been our go-to ever since"
Mostly good food, absolutely ruined by terrible, inattentive service. Positives: Masala and BBQ wings and sweet potato fries were flavorful and crispy, and the two salads that arrived on time looked nice. Beer selection is decent for the location. Negatives: Oh so many to list, let's begin. We waited over an hour and half with zero communication from our server for only 1/3 of our food to be delivered. Our pizzas never arrived, and the third salad had frozen, tasteless chicken. The hot chicken sandwich was an awkwardly breaded cutlet crudely chopped into an unnatural square with almost no sauce and was soggy as a rag from the dish pit. After being abandoned by our server, who we saw about twice in total, we were rescued by the bartender, but only after asking him to check on our order. He was great and did his best to salvage the situation, but we still ended up leaving after a long wait without the rest of our order. We've eaten here before and service has been slow but the food usually good, but never like this. This was bad enough that we will never come back here. As people that work in the hospitality industry, we're understanding and forgiving of the things that can go wrong in the back and front of the house that negatively impact the guest experience, hence why I tend to not leave a review at all rather than a negative one. However, in this case a negative review is warranted in the hopes that this doesn't happen to other guests. If you're having problems with service, communicate those issues to your guests in a timely manner and mitigate and perform service recovery. If there was a front of house manager, they were invisible. We were surprised that all the food didn't taste smoked since the kitchen must have been going down in flames. Separately, just increase your prices if you're going to pass along your increased product and labor costs to your customers, don't add a 1.5% surcharge for COVID-19. We're all paying more these days, not just your business. I wonder how much of that cost increase is going towards your one hard working employee, or is it just going into management's pockets?

The positives: -Got a table immediately -Reasonable prices on food & drinks -Your food will come out very hot -The decor was nice (albeit very generic for a gastro pub) -The onion rings were delicious The Negatives: -Never offered water, while we watched other tables be given it as soon as they sat down -The food was extremely hot, but only because they were brought out as each dish was done being cooked, rather than altogether. Felt like everything was just being cooked one at a time -None of my food came out until about 10mins after my boyfriend's -When drinks were ordered, we asked for french fries as an appetizer, but those didn't come until AFTER my boyfriend's entree had arrived, and before mine did. -The French fries were no better than subpar bowling alley food -Second beer was ordered, but never brought out, so I didn't have a drink at all for quite some time- not ideal when you're eating salty food. 15 mins after ordering, I was asked if I still wanted my beer, to which I declined because I was fed up with waiting -The service was horrendous; it was impossible to ask for anything, much less water, or a box, or even the check -The manager sucked too- he was walking around to every other table asking how everything was, my boyfriend tried to flag him down from the table next to us, to ask for a box, and he didn't even acknowledge we were there despite literally facing our direction, 5 feet away -The menu is so bizarre. Indian-fusion gastro pub? If you're going to do that, do traditional gastro pub food with an Indian flare. This was just a strange mix of food in general with an Indian fusion. This place is likely just temporary though. This location has been owned by the same people for years who just keep changing out the restaurant concept every so often instead of taking the time to improve what's there. So it makes sense that they seem to have issues with bringing their vision to fruition. But yeah, to sum it up, most definitely not coming back. And I won't be upset when it's gone in 6 months when they try something new- yet again.

Restaurant District 6 is a culinary paradise that never fails to impress. The food is simply divine, with each dish offering a delightful explosion of flavors. It's no wonder that the place is bustling, particularly on weekend nights when people flock to indulge in their delectable creations. One thing to note is that the wait times for food orders can be a bit lengthy. However, the waitstaff at Restaurant District 6 is incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is enjoyable. In fact, their exceptional service truly shines as they strive to make your wait as comfortable as possible. On a recent visit, I experienced a slight delay in receiving my order, but the waiters were so attentive that they kindly offered two complimentary dishes to make up for the extra wait. This level of generosity and customer care is commendable and sets Restaurant District 6 apart from others. Despite the occasional wait, the food itself is nothing short of extraordinary. The flavors are carefully crafted, and each dish is prepared with meticulous attention to detail. Whether you're a seafood lover, a meat enthusiast, or a vegetarian, you'll find an array of options that will leave you craving for more. The presentation of the dishes is visually stunning, adding to the overall dining experience. If you're someone who values exceptional food and doesn't mind a bit of a wait for your order, I wholeheartedly recommend Restaurant District 6. The incredible flavors, combined with the friendly service and vibrant atmosphere, make it a must-visit for anyone in search of an outstanding dining experience. Just remember to plan accordingly and be prepared for potential delays during peak hours.
Came here for a dinner with some friends after looking at the menu and all being very impressed with it. Definitely love the food here and come again! D6 Chicken Tikka Fries - So so good!! I was actually surprised but this ended up being my favorite dish of them all. Good amount of fries and the chicken tikka Masala on top had so much flavor. It went really well with the fries as well. Street Side Chow Mein - really good portion size and the noodles were so good even on their own. Szechwan Chicken - I asked for no mushrooms and extra vegetables on this but they did not deliver on that aspect. A bit too much gravy and they weren't as many vegetables as expected. Chicken was flavorful though. Cauliflower Manchurian Wings - And I was surprised by this one as well! So much flavor and it was hard to actually share this one because I could have eaten it all myself, haha. Butter Makhni Rigatoni - What a funky mashup dish. This actually came through with the Flavor of the butter chicken. And it actually went so well with the pasta! Italian Pav Bhaji Pizza - A little bit of a disappointment here. I was really expecting so much more in terms of the flavor of the actual bhaji that goes in the pav bhaji, but it just tasted like a bunch of things thrown onto the pizza base. Veggie California Love - was delicious! Just the right amount of toppings to crust ratio and a good flavor to the droppings and the crust as well. Everyone loved the drinks too! The mojito and

We first met chef Archana Nirwan over a year ago when she opened her first restaurant Naturally Desi in Rancho Bernardo and they've been our go-to ever since. So when she told us she would be opening another spot in my hometown of Mira Mesa we were excited to check it out! She aims for this location to be the first Indian-Fusion Gastro Bar of its kind in the area, and trust us when we say everything is so creative and amazing! We tried: Nirwana Mule (alcohol) & Cardamom Mule (non-alcoholic) Bahubali Bubble (bartender got SKILLS! such a cool drink but I didn't capture the smoky bubble topper in a picture, just vid on Instagram) Golgappa Shots (appetizer - u pour the juice, vodka optional, into the crunchy cracker shell) Chicken Tikka & Paneer Tikka Tacos Butter Chicken Pizza Tandoori Chicken Salad Tandoori Chicken Spaghetti (so creamy and nicely flavored!) Gulkand Donut (rose syrup glazed!!!) HARD to pick a favorite but it might just be that spaghetti. The owner strives to create fusion flavors that are spicious vs chili heat, so you aren't left with heart burn pain. The restaurant space is really nice too and great for groups, so we can't wait to go back with some friends and try some more! 8242 Mira Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92126 (Old Tapp Pizza/Indochin former Mandarin Garden location inside the Mira Mesa Mall)

Our dine in experience has been usually good but it was a mistake to place a take out order. Called them around 1:30 pm to place a order for 6 pm, kept me on hold for 5 minutes, only to suggest that I should call after 4pm to place order. Called again after 4 pm and picked the order at 6pm. We ordered vegetarian haka noodles, veg fried rice, Manchurian. They made a mistake and gave us egg, chicken fried rice. Next day I called at 11:30 am and spoke to Limon, who asked to call after 4 pm when manager will be available. The manager took my call at 4:30 ish and was very rude, ill mannered, said was too busy to talk, even implied that I might be lying about the whole mistake but giving me benefit of doubt. I asked him when you make such mistakes what is your restaurant policy, to which he did not give a clear answer. Kept on saying he cannot hear me, finally said you should come to restaurant to collect the refund but I paid over the phone and he should be able to refund in the same way. He insisted that I should have called before 12:00 to get the refund and in fact I did but Limon had no idea. Now I wait for the owner to call me, the ETA is 2 days Mistakes happen which can be corrected but arrogance and blaming customers for your mistake is not acceptable. Luckily we had enough appetizers and finger food, so my guest were fed but we had throw away the rice.
There’s naan-other like Nirwana Gastropub in Mira Mesa! Open now for a little over a month, Archan and her team are bringing over a modern take on Indian cuisine at Nirwana whereas the sister restaurant Naturally Desi in Rancho Bernardo has more traditional Indian dishes. I am loving the creativity of their craft cocktails and the unique flavor combinations of their fusion dishes. The malai kofta spaghetti has so much flavor it is one of my favorite fusion dishes in addition to their paneer tikka pizza which has a little bit of heat to it. I can’t forget to mention the more classic flavors like butter chicken and their selection of naan! The kashmiri naan is another favorite of mine with that sweet nutty flavor I can really taste the cardamom. The team really delivers on the presentation of their food and cocktails as well! A great spot for happy hour, date night, family dinners and they have plenty of space for larger parties! Located in the heart of the Mira Mesa mall, it is a wonderful addition to the other surrounding stores and restaurants. There is plenty of parking available which is also convenient too. Definitely drop by Nirwana especially if you’re in the area and give them a try! I’ll be back again for sure!

Previously tappizza and inchins now changed as Nirwana. Just like new name the menu is fresh and new too than regular other indian restaurants.. I got excited seeing many new food in the menu. .Loved everything we ordered. 1. Veg hakka noodles 2. Malai paneer green salad 3. Kolkata Crispy bhel. Everything was well made and absolutely delicious.. quantity is very good too for the price . Though found a bit expensive side . As the quantity was huge and also everything was priced a bit more we couldn't try more varieties that's the only negative side. Yeah also no kids menu so had to order full noodles for my kid who wouldn't finish fully so we had to eat noodles too..lol..these are the few cons .otherwise a great dinner. Excited to try other new things in the menu during next visits. Absolutely recommend to try it. During next visit tried pav bhaji fondue. Which was AMAZING. do try ..

One of the only Pour Your Own Beer restaurants in San Diego! This little gem in the heart of Mira Mesa is a great place to go with family and friends. Delicious Napoli style pizza and their wings are to die for! If you would like to try a different flavor other than Buffalo, their tangy slightly spicy Asian Wings are impeccable!!! Kudos to the chefs From Bangers and Mash, to the infamous Thompy Burger, Tap Pizza has a little of everything the whole family can enjoy They offer a great drink selection at the bar such as Suntory Roku Gin to Don Julio 1942. They carry a great wine selection and offers different varietals to satisfy the growing wine community of Mira Mesa☺️ The owner, a certified wine sommelier, even offers wine tasting nights as well as different food pairings to go with each wine! definitely a must go if you want to expand your wine palate Tap Pizza is truly a great staple here in Mira Mesa
Food was good. Drinks were good. Prices were decent. Waiter forgot to place in one order for fries, not a big deal because we were all comfortably full after wings and pizza. Ordered pizza after to take home assuming it would be done by the time we finished our drinks. The waiter forgot to put it in, which wouldn’t have been an issue if he just told me, but unfortunately he then placed the order in causing us to wait another 30 minutes. Once the pizza arrived it was also the wrong order. The place is good but they could stand getting a second server or at least providing more shade on the patio so that the servers can see what’s going on at your table. The server was excellent and running around handling everything. I don’t blame him.

I have experienced the worst hospitality ever in this restaurant. We dined in and the staff just wanted to clean up our plates before we even finished eating. They were at their closing but it felt like we were being kicked out of the place. The restaurant charges 18% tip and for such pathetic treatment I wouldn’t even pay a single penny. Now coming to the food; we ordered their Butter Chicken Pizza which was bland lacking flavor, Paneer 65 which was sweet - bummer, Masala Coke which was flat and sad. The rates are quite expensive for the quality of food being served. If you want to peacefully enjoy a flavorful meal, I would not recommend this place at all.

The food was not great at all.
I ordered for carry out at around 6pm, the place was a little busy for a Monday night, mostly customers at the bar. The interior looks great, spacious and very clean. I just wanted to try the place due to recommendations from miramesa neighbors page. I ordered (protein overload) pizza and chicken wings. The wings were dry and a little bit burnt. The pizza was tasty but nothing special, the dough was too hard for a thin crust, and it was hard to swallow. For $24 its a little pricey i think. I haven’t tried the other food they have on the menu so I don’t want to think that all their food is just ok, i might give it a another try in the future. I gave it a 3 stars because of the nice interior and the nice people they have, but i can go lower for their food. This is just my opinion.
Finally went to this much hyped place and I can say that some of their dishes are really worth the hype ! I liked the indo-chinese dishes ..even though they were a little bit spicy but they were tasty ! The Pav Bhaji Pizza was a big big disappointment. I wish I had clicked photos of it. Was not even tasty It was neither a good pizza nor a good Bhaji taste. Be informed: they don't anymore bake the pizzas, they just put some souces and gravy on top of a readymade prebaked pizza base...a thick base ! So if you love pizzas, refrain from ordering one here !! Desserts are average. Can be improved. I wish they would improve on the service as well. Overall Service : 3 Food : 4

We went there again and it was truly a hidden gem!!! The drinks, the foods and the price are all great! The service is a little bit slow, so please make sure you go there for a no rush meal. Previous review- It’s a very nice place to have a drink and some Indian inspired pizza dishes. We were really impressed by this place. We ordered an Italian Pav Bhaji pizza, which is super special, and so delicious. It’s still cheesy like a pizza and definitely contains Indian flavor. I love it. There are some other pizzas I would try the next time. The cocktails here are great too. My hubby ordered a smoky Japanese whiskey drink and it comes in a teapot with all smoke inside. It looks amazing and he loves the taste as well.
Food was flavorful but the portion size was small for the price. Must try the paneer tika masala (Paneer was super soft, loved it) and garlic noodles. Make sure you give them heads up about your spice level. The atmosphere was nice and pleasant. There is a play area for kids right outside.

I went to this place with a group of friends after hearing some really good things since there is a new ownership and management at the place. The place did not disappoint for sure. Great food (we ordered D6 mushrooms, chilli fries, malai kabob chicken, italian pav bhaji pizza & chilli chicken). I loved the fact that they have still kept the indo-chinese menu and added the more traditional bar food items. Amazing beer collection (please add a Pilsner :)) and nice cocktails as well. The bar tender does his best to go extra the mile and make sure his customers have an amazing time. $20 pitchers, you just can't go wrong! Can't wait to go back and try some of the other things from the menu.
The most awkward experience! Came here last Saturday night around 6:46pm, walked into the restaurant and the hostess was not around in the front, no big deal, waited for a few mins, got some weird stares from ppl behind the bar, the place was not busy whatsoever, one table inside and two tables seated outside in the patio. The hostess came back from the kitchen after a few mins and ask us how many in our party, party of 3. And gave an awkward ummmmmmm... And went over the bar ask the waitress if a table is available, at this we're confused, the restaurant is practically empty, and the hostess came back and told us, no, no tables available. We left hungry and confused.
Nirwana is intriguing, to say the least. Vey neo-modern-industrial Indian fusion gastropub. The food is authentic, spice levels real. The rebranded vada-pav sliders were perhaps the farthest from authentic. But the butter chicken, masala papad and golagappa shots were great. The golagappas were more rice cracker-like but it was a nice touch. The real star of the show the “hazy Devdas “, a cocktail made with suntory Japanese whiskey with smoked tea and bitters. Only on the cards for another month, so perhaps worth a trip even if just to try it before it fades into oblivion.

We ordered 4 dishes for take-out for our family of 4 (2 adults, one teen and one preteen), and it wasn't enough food. The fish and chips were tasty, but would have liked at least one more piece of fish. The rest of the dishes were so so. The protein overload pizza was ok, but we've had better pizza elsewhere; the chicken tikka masala burrito was dry; the grilled chicken entree was very small, just a few small pieces of chicken, a few slices of mushroom in runny sauce, a good salad; they forgot to include the saffron rice. My husband and son picked up the food and commented that they heard crude bar talk; so probably not a family-friendly place.
I'm so glad that we have finally got a good Indian fusion Pizza joint nearby. The food was amazing. We tried 4 different pizzas (I guess we went a little pizza crazy!) and all of them were delicious. Well done crust, decent amount of toppings. Specially loved their spiced cauliflower pizza (achaari gobhi). Only issue we had was the paneer tikka pizza-its paneer topping felt a bit chewy. We didn't try any of their drinks but the other reviews make me want to try them the next time. As for the service, its a hit or miss depending on the time of order. But if you order for a pick up, they always have it ready on time. Will be back for more..
Placed an order online at 8pm, and was told it would be ready at 830pm. Got here at 830pm and the bartender directed me to a corner where pick up orders were. After waiting about 10 minutes and multiple servers walking by me with no acknowledgement, I approached one asking about my takeouorder. After a few minutes of trying to figure out which order was mine, the server told me it would be 5 more minutes. 30 minutes later my food is finally ready. Purely because of poor service will not order from here again.

We went there for a Friday night dinner. We ordered a couple of dishes and then we had to wait for 40 mins and some follow ups to get the last dish on our table. The food tasted good but the service was pathetic. Had a word with the co-owner and he assured me that we will be taken care off just to know that we got a $8 discount on our bill with 18% gratuity added to a table of 4 pax. I think this restaurant needs some serious overhaul with a new manager meant.

When we got here, we waited 20 minutes to get serviced and didn’t get water until 30 minutes after getting sat. When we got cups, all the cups were greasy and dirty with lip stains. When the food finally came, the server handed all the dishes with his thumb in the dish and the plastic cups that we requested. Afterwards, the server awkwardly stared at us while we ate and packed our food, and it felt like we had no privacy. Definitely will not be dining here again

I ordered from this restaurant because they have fusion dishes but it was not worth it. Momos are not really momos and too expensive as per quantity Pizza has lots of extra flour which is tasting so bad on each bite and the chicken khati roll was soggy and tasteless. And they put pizza in bag in vertical way and when we open the pizza box it was screwed. Waste of money

Unpleasant experience. The waitress was unfriendly from the beginning. Never bothered to check if we got our drinks, in fact we never got our drinks even after reminding multiple times. At the end when we asked for the cheque after waiting for a long time, we reminded that the drinks be taken off the bill, and the server asked if we still want those drinks… after we finished our meal. Service was terrible, on the whole

Enjoyed dinner with friends and family at Nirwana. Pros- Food was good and so as the ambience. We tried most of the vegetarian items from the menu and non alcoholic drinks and enjoyed everything. Paneer tikka pizza was yummy. Cons- Customer service was excellent until the owner was present. Communication and customer service was not good as soon as the owner left. Owner’s presence made us feel more welcoming.

came here with my family on a Saturday night, came across this place although we have heard of it through our local facebook page. It was happy hour and they have a great happy hour menu. the food was AMAZING and my little ones loved have their own tiny pizza for only $5. They also loved their happy hour fries which you can also get as Garlic Fries. Husband and i shared a pizza and it was amazing! Great food, great service! i hope they stay open for take out because we will be back.
Absolutely loved the food, drinks and the ambience. We got the lassi based cocktail, chinese bhel, paneer kurchan and chicken tikka burger. Everything was amazing. This is by far the best Indian food we have ever had. Would highly recommend checking this place out! Our server Limon was very attentive and ensured that we had a great time!

This restaurant is so much fun, you can pass it by because they don't have a sign above the door which for some reason I love. The food was absolutely incredible and the wait staff is amazing. Do not get pizza here. This used to be Tappizza and they had good pizza. Some past reviews might lead you to think they still serve good pizza, but they do not. Awesome pizza and taproom place. The service was amazing! The waitress was very attentive and I got my food in a timely manner. The soda for $1 with free refill is a plus! The pizza we ordered was FROZEN. The place maybe OK for Indian Cuisine but anything else leaves a lot to be desired. After beginning our meal with soda, we then requested water. The water was served in a 1 liter carafe but NO glasses were provided. My recommendation is to dine else where.
Great place with nice sporty Ambiance to be at! The look has changed a lot and with more sporty look! Great vibes to be at that place. Nice Indo Chinese food is served .Hospitality by the restaurant is top notch!! Already been 3 times at this place in last 4 week!! Love the place!
I had the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Although the food was good but the customer service was sickening. I believe the managers name was Anni?? But he was so rude to the staff when it was his fault! It made my experience very UNCOMFORTABLE! I wouldn’t recommend FAMILIES to go there.
I would like to see more open pool tables for casual players but the hospitality makes up for it. Shout out to Ani and Sarah, they always make me feel like I’m from my home away from home!

Food is great.Drinks are yummy. Our bartender/server Ricky was super friendly and so helpful with his food suggestions being our first time. His service was great. The atmosphere is fun. Their prices are about average. Location is near everything.plenty of parking around.
So happy I found this new place! Had a group of 9 of us and the staff treated us so well. Love the open space, lots of pool tables. We had the pani puri shots which were so fun. Looking forward to trying out more of the menu items. A great addition to the area!
Employees are nice, food is delicious, and patrons are friendly. Great place to watch Monday night football, Thursday night games, and Sunday games.

Not a great experience. They messed up my order, food was cold, and they did not check up on us. Bathroom was trashed. By the way, it wasn’t busy at all. We were the only ones in there at the start and only two other tables were being served when we left.
Food was bland with little to no flavor. Stay away from the gluten free pizza. Descriptions of other dishes were inaccurate and they would not let us send back the dishes that had ingredients not labeled on the description such as sour cream on pizza....
Stumbled along this place on their soft opening day. It was awesome! The staff was so nice and helpful (Corey specifically). The food was great! And the drinks were so unique and fun. Their pizza is Wood Fire. The mac and cheese was super good too.
Very inappropriate to be blasting explicit music with Kumon across from them and a playground just a few feet away. Children are trying to learn and play- they don’t need to be listening offensive lyrics from a bar at 2pm in the afternoon.
Came here with a friend at the end of December. No wait time for a table and good atmosphere. Food was good and for a great price! Made it on time for happy hour which was awesome too! Inexpensive good food, what more can you ask for?!
Had a great dinner experience. Had to wait a while to get the table. Ordered Pav-Bhaji pizza, Paneer Tikka pizza & Momos. Everything tasted delicous! The pav bhaji pizza was super duper good! Must try. Overall clean & nice service
This is a perfect place for Indian fusion around here. We missed to specify spice level and felt pastas were little bland and missing some spice, otherwise all good. Must try!

Loved this place. Amazing food and service. I would recommend this place in this neighborhood. Won’t be disappointed. They have the best Virgin drinks. Can’t wait to go back.

Had good Indian dishes and a good garlic noodle dish. Wish they’d focus on one cuisine and offer more options of that. Heard the naan tacos and tikka fries were good too.

Tappizza in Mira Mesa is amazing! It's way more than pizza. They have an incredible selection of Indian food as well. Wonderful selection and incredible homemade desserts. I highly recommend this establishment in Mira Mesa!
It is excellent combo of all kind of drinks and food items.. love the test and pool tables. Highly recommend for hangout with friends/family!! i will repeat this frequently . Great option in middle of Miramesa. Thanks!!
VERY good pizza and mac n cheese balls. service was great, interior is nice, cool, and clean. beer on tap was tasty. music wasn't too loud, just right. love this place. will absolutely be going back on the regular.
San Diego's first Indian gastropub is officially here. Nirwana is an amazing addition to San Diego's fusion Indian cuisine with one of a kind drinks and dishes. Don't wait ... go and try them out.
Charred Chicken tikka was not actually charred in tandoor which is expected from an authentic indian restaurant ! Tasted like just cooked on a pan. Wasted 80 bucks here!

We decided to have lunch and it was delicious! Chicken Tika poutine and Chicken Tika wraps……fresh, delicious and great prices! Also love that you get charged by the ounce for their tap wall!
Had chicken tika and paneer pizzas from Nirwana at my work. I did not like the fusion. Their pizza crust was also texture-less. Would not go there and would not recommend them to anyone
Great food and nice atmosphere. Lively Saturday evening. Our waitress Sheela was very pleasant and friendly. They did seem understaff though. Will definitely go back again.
Love the food here. Great selection on the menu & fairly priced. The service offered here is attentive and quick. Always finding a reason to eat here.
Very Bad Experience, customer service is bad. And they server beer in plastic glass that too in a gastrobar. Utterly disappointed.

Great place to grab a drink in Mira Mesa. $5 happy hour beer specials. Pizzas can be a bit fancy, but the pepperoni satisfies my simple tastes.
Electric environment!!! Delicious food, friendly service, excellent drinks.... Visit once and surely it will become your regular hangout place.
The long island iced tea was refreshing! Chicken 65 was pretty good as well.

Worst management ever. It takes them forever to prepare the order and they always fail to serve the correct order.
