This is my first time in San Jose. By chance, I ate at Dolce Sicilia. I have worked at Filomena's inbWashington DC. I have also worked for Dante Vanilli at his restaurant in Detroit. I have also worked as comie for Roberto Donna at Galileo. Your lasagna was excellent. Tomato heaven, the sauce was reduced for hours I'm sure. My own sauce takes 5 hours. I can let it go for 7. The lemincello marscapne cake ruined chocolate cake for me. Once my favorite, it is no more. Vanquished by lemony deliciousness. Your pastry cream was light and delicate. Not too much sugar, but the perfect amount of sweetness to allow the lemon to come through naturally. You used fresh squeezed lemons, because lemon concentrate is strong and tart. That would have surely ruined it. The cake was light and fluffy. I am so interested in the flour you used. I am just as interested in the cake pans. Which metal did you use? Definitely not the aluminum. I like stainless steel for cakes and brioche. Bravo! Great job. It's not often I get to choose 5 stars. It feels really good when I do. Eating your cake was a great experience. Reg Brookins

I hate to be the person who writes an average review on this place because it has really great reviews. I don't give bad feedback unless I needed to but when I came here for the first time I have to. I love Italian food with a passion and ravioli is one of my favorites to order. I ordered the meat ravioli with gorgonzola sauce expecting it to be good. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but what ever was in that meat ravioli was not edible for me at all and I had a bad aftertaste after. I never had a ravioli that I didn't enjoy which is sad. I didn't want to go back there and return the food because I don't want to be one of those people. I give the 3 stars because the guy in the front was very kind to me. Response to the owner: Hi, I think you are missing the point of what I reviewed about. I didn't say anything bad about the Gorgonzola sauce because I actually enjoy it. It was the meat that was inside the Ravioli I didn't enjoy. It was just not edible for me and I hope you take this feedback something to look out for next time. Thanks

This cafe came to me highly recommended, and it most aspects, it did not disappoint! I loved the wide selection of coffee, gelato, and pastas. The store itself is small but impressively laid out, and it boasts a vibrant atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only reason I'm offering four stars instead of five could actually be due to "user error": I ordered the gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce, and found the sauce to have such a pungent flavor, I couldn't finish it. I wonder if the sauce was made with gorgonzola piccante, instead of gorgonzola dolce, but admittedly, I don't have the training to differentiate the two. All I know is that the flavor, though it may well have been both fresh and authentic, was far too piquant for my palate, and as much as I wanted to enjoy it, I could not. Fans of blue cheese would likely love this sauce, but unfortunately, it wasn't for me. On my next visit, I plan to try the vodka sauce, and I'm optimistic it will be much more to my taste.

This place is a gem! My husband grew up in San Jose, but now we live in Virginia. My husband's extended family still lives in San Jose and we decided to purchase pastries for them for Easter. We placed a delivery order last week for our 90 year old grandmother. Then, last minute, we placed another order for my in-laws. Domenico went above and beyond to help me place two out-of-state orders. It was so easy and as a mother of two young children, I really appreciated his help! Our grandmother was spending her first Easter alone in 90 years bc of the COVID pandemic and said "it felt like Easter again" when she opened the door to a box of warm Italian pastries! My in-laws were equally as thrilled! They were blown away by the taste and variety of baked goods. Fantastic service, fantastic food, what more can you ask for? Next time we visit San Jose, I'm bringing the kiddos in there and getting a box for us! Thank you for everything Dolce Sicilia!

Dolce Sicilia is owned by Italians and is real Italian food. Everything I've had there has been delicious. Half of my family is from Italy (truly from there, still live there) so I can confirm the food and coffee is 100% authentic which is really wonderful. In fact, it makes me feel a little at home eating there since I used to travel to Italy more frequently than I can now. There are a lot of Italian American places around Willow Glen that are good, but this place is the real deal. I think many people are more used to Italian American cuisine and can get thrown off by actual Italian food. They are two different things in my book. This is TRUE Italian food, and the Sicilian specialties in the café are especially enjoyable. Fantastic place!

Wow - this is place is amazing! Probably one of the better Italian places we have ate at. Albeit a bit hidden off the street and did not have full inventory of what was listed but well worth the visit. Came on a Saturday afternoon for a quick meal and desert. Was not busy at all and staff was readily available to serve. The gnocchi with pesto sauce was absolutely delicious and paired well with the 2015 Monte Antico. Ordered a couple different deserts which were also phenomenal - nutella cheese cake and the sweet but fantastically warm dark chocolate crossiant. Amid Covid, they have the outdoor seating in front of the plaza to sit and relax while eating but we took it to go. Food presentation was great and would definitely go back again.

Our family group of 14 do a cannoli tasting every year. We rent a party bus and make our way to 3 different locations to see who has the best cannolis in town. Dolce Sicilia made the top of the list this year! Their cannolis were very smooth, flavorful, had a nice shell and topped on both ends with crushed pistachios. We added a lovely rich espresso and it was perfect. Several in our group couldn't resist the Gelato. The mint chocolate chip was amazing, the mint was not overpowering. We will definitely be back and are curious to see if they can hold the title next year. Grazie!!!

6 of us were looking for a good dessert option right after brunch and this place stood out. We ordered pistachio cannoli, limoncello and mascarpone cake, pistachio and ricotta cake, espresso and cannoli, hazelnut gelato and sfogliatella. I loved the pistachio cannoli, hazelnut gelato- distinct hazelnut flavor and very creamy, followed by limoncello and mascarpone cake. The pistachio was muted in the cake and compared to the flavor explosion everywhere else, this one didn’t stand out much nor did the sfogliatella which is basically cream of doughy texture inside a gorgeous, multi layered and beautifully created puff pastry. It just wasn’t for me. I’ll go back for sure!

I had my first ever cannoli here and it was superb! My dad and I both don’t like really sweet desserts so this hit the spot—the cream was so rich and full but not too sugary at all. We got it with pistachios and the chocolate chips inside were the perfect touch. The crunchy shell is bomb too. The employee there was so kind and patient w/ my indecisiveness over buying other items. You can tell he’s very passionate about what they make and giving their customers a lovely, tasty experience. We want to come back again and again! Definitely recommend supporting this sweet shop and their even sweeter staff :)

Dolce Sicilia is a nice addition to Lincoln Ave inside the Garden Theatre. They serve traditional al dente home made pasta, salads, tiramissou, cakes, cookies, specialty Italian sodas, wine beer and coffee. Owners are very Italian and this is family owned. Great service, quality home made food with quality fresh ingredients. There's a twist to the typical Happy Hour called Appertivo. Order any alcohol drink and there's a nice complimentary home made appetizers. I suggest the tasty Cannolis, an espresso and some cookies to enjoy there or bring to a party.

Complimenti!!!

Truly excellent. Best Italian food in the area that I've tried; great taste, high quality, and run by a super friendly family! I've had almost all of their sauces, most of their pasta, one panino, coffee, and a few of their cookies, and nothing has disappointed so far. You can really tell they use quality ingredients and know what they're doing here. I think about them frequently and really wish I lived closer.

  • Massimiliano Cascino

I love this place. I'm from Italy and this is where I go to feel at home. Get some good pastry made by the magic hands of Anna and chat about everything with Domenico while sipping my good espresso or cappuccino. If you want to step it up and a real Italian happy hour, get there on Fridays and enjoy some Sprits with some finger foods made at the moment! you won't regret it. AMAZING!

  • Andrew Lopez

Definitely one of the most if not the most authentic Italian cafes that I have ever been to. Not only is the food here amazing, but the service is equally as great. You definitely feel welcome and comfortable at this spot. I highly recommend this spot if you're on the area you will not regret it (:

Lovely little cafe + gelato place that's a great addition to willow glen downtown. We've tried the gelato as well as a few of the pastry items. I loved everything I tried - the chocolate mousse cake, nutella biscotti, pizza croissant. All had great flavor and texture, and weren't super heavy or overpoweringly sweet. Definitely a new favorite.

  • Tricia C

Delicious. I go for the cannoli. I strongly suspect it the most authentic cannoli a person can get in the Bay; I've been searching. They serve meals. There is gelato, cookies, dried pantry items. Espresso. It is inside a building, so you won't see it from the street

Fresh tasting Italian pastries. Very crispy on the outside but the fillings were a hit and miss for my family. Our kids are more accustomed to Asian types of bakery/pastry (strawberry fillings, custard, chocolate, red beans, and taro). Nonetheless, I enjoyed it. Friendly staff and very clean place. Good breakfast place.

Great Italian food and pastries. Dolce Sicilia is a family run casual bistro located inside the Garden Theatre in Willow Glen. Daily home made cookies, gellato, sandwiches, salads and pasta options. Prices and the quality are great! Eat in or take out.

Tried their pesto (4/5) and tomato basil gnocchi (3/5). It’s not a formal dine in with waiters to help you but other than that the pastas were fresh, quickly served and better than most places that serve Italian cuisine.
