I recently visited Dolcezza Gelato & Coffee and I must say I was thoroughly impressed! The cafe has a cozy atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The highlight of my experience was definitely the Affogato! It was the perfect combination of rich espresso and smooth gelato, and I couldn't get enough of it. The location is also great, right in the heart of city center and easily accessible via public transportation. I ordered one Affogato which came out to $10.63 after tax. Overall, I highly recommend Dolcezza Gelato & Coffee for anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying Affogato or just a great cup of coffee. I will definitely be returning soon!

Stumbled on this place after heading back from Chinatown to the CityCenter. The gelato is excellent. I ended up going twice during my trip because it was so yummy. They offer quite a few delicious flavors and For a small, you can choose two flavors and for a large, you can choose three. A small was plenty for me. The first time I choose black sesame and Thai coconut and the second time I picked bananas foster and mascarpone & berries. All the flavors packed a punch, but the most memorable was the black sesame and coconut. The combination was a perfect balance of sweet and nutty. If you can't decide, try that combo!

We came for the first time this year! It is super packed but the service is quick! We order a black sesame latte (no espresso shot which is great for me), dulce de leche latte which was strong but delicious. Our favorite was the almond croissant! The mascarpone & berries gelato was delicious. Everything was pretty pricey, $7 small gelato & lattes. A great spot, definitely recommend and coming back, just not often due to price.

WHOA! We just luck down to this place by accident, tag it! Save it. Coming back here next time I'm in town. I wanted to get an Affagato (right) and my wife got a cappuccino. We love our coffee and appreciate good coffee. This was not good. This was great. No not great. It was amazing. So amazing that I told my army friend he needs to take the general that he works for there while he was in DC for work. All dietary restrictions covered, plenty of options. Gelato to go. I will be here every time I pass through the DC area.

Great sunny spot for a mid-morning business meeting. I had my usual chilly morning fare: hot apple cider and a chocolate croissant. It would be wonderful if there were a place to hang coats. With mostly barstool seating, keeping up with one's full-length winter coat becomes a challenge.

Stumbled across this lovely shop walking back to my hotel. Enjoyed a small dish that included two flavors of gelato/ sorbet. Nice assortment of flavors available. At first I thought the small dish was a little skimpy but turns out it really hit the spot! Came back later with some friends and still pleased with the choices! Really enjoyed the affogato.

I'm hesitating between 3 and 4. My latte and Gelato were tasty. However, my friend's cookie was old and not tasty. Overall, I think the place could have been decorated more. Especially the bathroom. Everything is basic and unappealing that's hard for me to imagine myself coming there often to work/study and have a cup of coffee at the same time. I would want to hang out inside the coffee shop. Overall, I think this place has a great potential. Please just make this place more pretty.

I recently discovered Dolcezza Gelato & Coffee, and it's a gem! Their gelato is absolutely heavenly—creamy and packed with authentic flavors. The cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff make it a perfect spot to unwind. Whether you're in the mood for a classic coffee or a scoop of delightful gelato, Dolcezza is definitely worth a visit!

I walk 3 blocks and by a few coffee shops to relax for a few minutes during my busy day here at Dolcezza. Drinks, hot and cold, are done well. There seems to always be an international vibe happening, and the Gelato is somebody the best I've had in the region. I like that they don't skimp on the servings either. If in the area, certainly worth a visit. I especially like the Affagato.

Couldn’t resist going in to have the gelato when I noticed they had a good espresso machine as well. Both the Vanilla Bean Gelato and espresso were great. I do wish they had served sparkling water as a palate cleanser given the accompaniment of Gelato.

As an intern in DC I’m always looking for spots to do work at. I think I may have found one of my new favorite places! It was super easy to find after getting off the metro, plus the vibes are stellar. I got a Tahitian green tea and my girlfriend got a cold brew, both made by the great barista Lee. I couldn’t think of a better combo than gelato, coffee, and tea for a work space.

We came here on a Saturday night for gelato and were really satisfied with what we tried. I ordered a small cup which is $7 and comes with two scoops. I tried the Mascarpone & Berries gelato and a scoop of the Black and White Cookie Batter. Both were great, especially the Mascarpone & Berries. Getting a third flavour is only $1 extra so I’d go for that next time.

So happy to see a place open at night. Beautiful ambiance and the service is great. However, Ordered a Cafe Latte and it was NO good. Flavor was just not there. Asked for extra hot coffee and got mildly warm coffee. The sitting area is lovely and I guess people come here for the Gelato. Will have to try that and update review. But definitely not the coffee. :(

Stopped by for icecream as a Traveller, got milk chocolate chip while dark chocolate was not available. The milk one is good but I still wanted to try the dark chocolate one. Returned three hours later after visiting the art gallory, the dark one is awesome and worth return. I would suggest a dark chocolate chip one.

Come for the gelato, leave because of the freezing cold temperatures. The gelato is really good, lots of nice flavors. It's a bit pricey, but considering the neighborhood, it makes sense. The place is kept super cold inside. So if you want to stay, consider sitting outside.

We happened by this place and decided to go in for a sweet treat. The Gelato was tasty with unique flavor options. The line was pretty long which speaks to how popular the shop is. It's pricey as are most ice cream and Gelato shops these days. But we would go again.

Gelato in a large size comes with three scoops. We got coffee, banana and gianduja. Delicious and fresh! The service was great and personnel were friendly.

Dolcezza Gelato is arguably the best in DC. Huge, huge fan of the peaches & cream flavor. The blackberry and dulce de leche are also excellent. Clean, friendly vibe with really nice staff. Pleasant experience all around and good gelato. A++

Might be the BEST gelato I’ve ever had. And I’ve been to Italy. I got the hazelnut crunch and marscapone with berries.

The gelato was delicious and the staff were awesome. First time there I was able to sample the flavors and get recommendations from staff. The hazelnut was a staff favorite and I can see why, super yummy!

Perfect place for that morning cup of Tea / Coffee. Warm chocolate croissants and a hot cup of freshly brewed americano . Just what is needed to enjoy Sunday. The staff are amazing. Hidden gem !

Excellent and universally appealing Gelato flavors. It's expensive but no more so than Jeni's. Service was fast and friendly. Great location for visitors and conference attendees.

I got an ice cream and it was great, just a little pricy for the portion, though. Very cool atmosphere.

Good Gelato. Have tried pretty much every flavor. Have liked hazelnut one the best. I have been to couple shops. This one is in Palmer alley DC.

Nice coffee and ice cream shop. The icecream (vanilla, mango and strawberry) were tasty and creamy but not too sweet.

  • Stephanie Fan

Service and gelato were excellent! The lavender and peanut butter flavors were our recommendations
