Health and Safety issue, Untrustworthy, Unreliable. The statements in Craigieburn Dosahut's response to Lakshmi Gopinathan's review is not complete (skipped important information) and not true. I will write exactly as happened.. Check your camera recordings and it will match. When I came for collection, Lady in the counter told me that family veg biriyani is not ready and asked me to wait. So, I was just standing to the side of the counter. 10 minutes later (Yes, 10!!!), I saw a man returning family biriyani pack. The lady in the counter apologised and gave a different family pack to him. After he left, the lady took the returned biriyani towards the back of counter and within few seconds (Yes, few seconds only), she came to counter and said, my biriyani is ready. She said NOTHING ELSE. I asked her,"Is this pack, the returned one from the man just left?" She said, "yes", (Only after I asked, she told me. Earlier, She just pretended that she was bringing the freshly packed biriyani from kitchen!! Not trust worthy!) I said,"Its not correct and its health and safety issue esp in covid times". She replied,"We gave your pack to that other man by mistake. He just kept it in his car and went for other shopping. I gave him a call to return the pack and he did. He didn't touch the food." I can't believe what she said. She didn't even know the basic protocols on returned food and didn't care about health and safety of other customers. I said her, "I am disappointed to hear what you said. I can accept returned toy but not food as its health and safety issue. I don't want this food and want a new one. She took the pack back into kitchen. Not sure what happened there.... She came back after few minutes with a pack. I checked and the pack didn't seem to be new. I told her that I m unable to trust this is a new pack as the aluminium foil inside cling wrap was torn on one side and by the way Al foil was crushed along edges (You know what I mean!). But, She said its newly packed and hence it took 5 minutes. With the confusion, I took the food home. As soon as I came home, my wife asked me to talk to the manager about it. Here is the interesting feedback from the manager. I explained the manger what happened and asked,"Is it acceptable what the lady did and asked him what was the protocol for returned food. He spoke to the lady and then called me to say," my staff wont tell lies. The food was just in the other man's car and unused. So, she gave it to you:". I was surprised that even the manager tried to justify initially knowing the returned food protocols. Then, I specifically asked," The food was outside dosahut for 10 minutes with someone else. Do you give that food to other customer or what do you do?. He then, replied that it goes to bin and then FINALLY!!!!! apologised for what happened. When I was still on the call, "my wife called me to dining and showed chicken piece!!!!! in veg biriyani. I am not making it up. Please see the video/image attached for yourself. I went to Dosahut to talk about both these issues. Started with chicken in veg biriyani. I knew the piece shown in the video was on top of the pack when I left home, but it got mixed up as I was carrying the family pack vertically in carry back." I didnt have time as I had to buy lunch for my family from other place. Also, I wanted to focus the discussion on returned food issue as it was more serious. So, I told the manager to look for himself later for the chicken piece and continued talking about the returned food incident. The manager said sorry and offered to pack a new biriyani.I said I don't want but got the refund for biriyani. I have attached proof for chicken in veg biriyani. @Craigieburn Dosahut. Do you want the proof for returned food given to us? Well! you can also look at your camera recordings. You have stated in your response that you incurred a loss by throwing food in the bin. I think you still don't understand the seriousness of this issue!!! its HEALTH & SAFETY ISSUE! I hope you follow safety protocols in the future.But you lost 1 regular customer.

INITIAL REVIEW 2020 Got paneer 65 and vegetarian noodles for delivery. Noodles okay, paneer is like just in only tomato gravy with lots and lots of curry leaves So unlike dosa hut. NEW REVIEW 2022 Never had any order/dine in at this restaurant post the above experience except for this Saturday, when we thought we will give it a go. We went in to have Dosa, thinking a Dosa place can’t go wrong with Dosa at-least. The exhaust system was not good, when you go to a restaurant you don’t want a mix smell of bleach, cooked food etc. that’s what it smelled like upon entrance. Interior and atmosphere felt more like we were in a food court. Enough staff, so service was quick. The Idly felt stale/not fresh. The Vada tasted undercooked. The Masala Dosa was 2/5. The sambhar was weird sweet taste. Plates have got water marks since a long time (or I don’t know if limescale buildup is the correct term) on all edges. All in all, we entirely went wrong with thinking that a Dosa restaurant can at least serve those authentic dishes right. Never ordering again.

This was on 28th The worst experience i ever had. Firstly on 28th January my order was wrong, they gave me wrong order, i checked it when i reached home. On calling them, they said will replace, so i had to rush again back to the restaurant. Than when i got my order it was not a good experience. Goat Biryani, the goat pieces dry and bit raw. I also had goat mince Palau, the mince was burnt, the Palau was almost black. Chicken Biryani was alright, like a fried rice. Butter chicken was watery, sweet and was not fresh. On 29 th January I went to the restaurant with mince Palau and raised complaint, the person there took it and went inside and haven't came back for almost 10mins, so i left. Tried to contact their manager on phone to advise, but no response and never got a call back. ONCE DOSA HUT HAD A GOOD REPUTATION, BUT AFTER GIVING THE FRANCHISEE'S THE TASTE GONE BAD. We order food regularly from dosa hut. Interestedly they have reduced their portion sizes drastically. Extremely disappointing specially when you order food so regularly. We ordered through Uber eats every week. Tonight we get one small bowl of sambhar for2 dosas, cauliflower Manchurian portion was 60 percent only in same price of course, the only thing normal was just the chaat.its disappointing specially when u order more than $90 worth of food and that is still not enough. Interestingly I receive a feedback from the owner here. I will attach photos if there would be next time. I was not asking for free sambhar it was clearly how the food was packed or whosoever have packed the food. It is good to acknowledge the mistake would have earned respect, for me it was all about experience. Nevertheless thank you won’t be ordering again.

We came here for dinner on Wednesday. The ambiance was so dull and staff looked like they couldn’t be bothered to serve. As we were walking to our reserved table, I asked a question about the samosa that was near the counter, then the waitress told me “ Sit down first”! I was shocked to hear this! I didn’t talk back since I knew she looked new to the role. The samosa was cold and old. The food took so long to arrive, that we literally lost interest in it. The mains ordered didn’t arrive on time and we received mains at different times. So we couldn’t enjoy a meal as a family together. What kind of restaurant serves mains at different times? It must be brought together so everyone can enjoy it together! Dosa was not fresh. Service people couldn’t be bothered and they just treated us like we are eating here for free.

My 12 year old and I just had the worst restaurant experience of our lives without even having any food. We arrived there this evening craving dosa. On the menu there is the option to add egg to any dosa. On seeing this, my son asked to have a a ghee dosa with egg but we were told this is not an option and we were fine with it. What happened next was unbelievable and very humiliating! The entire kitchen led by the gentleman who looked like the leader started laughing out loud. They found it funny that someone just ordered the worst combo with a dosa. Did they just have a brain fart or are they usually like this?? We left without eating and it is unlikely we will ever return. With staff like that, no wonder this joint has a rating in the low 3s.

We went to dosa hut Craigieburn on 04/3/23 at 2000 hrs with family…No doubt food was delicious however customer service was poor. Food came to table in instalments… one member’s food was served while rest were waiting…Took one hour to complete our order…Did not enjoy family dinner at all…as one member was eating and rest all were waiting. I mean I don’t work in hospitality but know tables rules when you are serving one table … serve food for all. Not for just one person…Just basic things. Not impressed by customer service at all. Could not give rating in minus. Ordered Noodles for pickup and waited 55mins in restaurant to go home and find that the noodles were tasteless and still uncooked. It was like team was under pressure so they tossed boiled noodles in pan for 1min and sent it out. Cherry on top was that when owners were told about this, I was asked to keep the food for next day and bring it in only on the next day if I wanted a replacement. If I would go any other day then I can’t get my replacement. I ended up throwing this one in bin and not getting replacement. Would not recommend this restaurant to any one. Worst ever customer service. (Whereas owners think they are doing great customer service.) Definitely taking my business elsewhere and would recommend people to do the same.

The customer service was awful. The lady was giving us attitude the whole time. We went to order and she accidentally charged us for an extra curry and when we went to get a refund she said it’s not possible. We told them about the mistake immediately after ordering so they wouldn’t have had a chance to cook. The employ said that she would put the curry as takeaway. When we told another worker they did not listen and accused us of lying. The employ was rude, dismissive and gave us attitude the whole time. There was also a hair in my food. We felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable. The food however was delicious. It’s sad that the customer service ruined the food and experience for us.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Honestly don’t waste your money here better go to some other place. Ordered food which cost over $100 got the samosa chaat and the samosas were rotten took one bite and spat it out sent it back to them where they claimed the samosas are fresh. Didn’t even offer to refund for that. Got some veg manchurian which was all burnt. Got some vadas that were sitting in the little thing keeping food “warm” however they were cold. This restaurant is our favourite place to dine-in. The whole place is very spacious, clean and welcoming. Everything is simply exceptional, especially the customer service. Worst dosa I had in my life. Again as per the below mentioned comments Vada was undercooked. After a having a reviews before 7 months still same mistakes no improvements at all. I ordered paneer spring roll dosa and the quality of paneer was cheap, tasted stale. Sambar and coconut chutney did not taste good, dosa was so thick!! That I wasn’t able to swallow. I left half of the things ordered as it was not even bearable to eat and stomach started aching. Waste of money. Management should focus on reviews as i now see the same kind of reviews and should not play with customers health.

Had a bad experence with the tasteless food. had dinner with my Aussie friend to impress him with inidan street food but turned out a disaster. the Pav bhaji was very dry, without any butter, corriender or taste. Also the quantity was very less. Dahi poori litterlly only had only dahi in it without any other masala or corriender again. The best Indian restaurant and the greatest Dosa Hut that we’ve ever been to. The staff is well mannered and know how to engage with their customers. Excellent food and great customer service. My one star rating for staff smiling face. We ordered chicken Tandoori & they used food colour for look. I am not happy with this one. Then we ordered Chicken Lollypop, again they used colour & lollypop were so dry and tasteless. The last but very important staff not washing their hands after cleaning the table. Worst experience I ever had. Went there for dinner ordered chicken chilli and told the manager make sure it’s well cooked because of pregnancy. Food came on table like 2 min Maggie. Had a bite and chicken was raw and told manager about that. Shocking was that when manager said this is how we serve chicken chilli and the moment he knew he f****d up. Ask him to make something else but he refused. Won’t suggest to go there as they won’t care about your health.

The Food is Good...Ambience is Amazing...Ground Staff is very kind...It will help the Restaurant if more service oriented and not ao rude person is standing at the Counter. We have had Veg Biryani, Gobi 65 Biryani, Egg 65 Biryani, Dosa, Idli, Gobi 65, Veg Manchurian at this place a few times...Biryanis are consistently delicious...Veg Manchurian and Gobi 65 is Good as well...Would have been 4 Stars if the girl at the counter would have behaved nicely.

The food overall is delicious. Veggie noodles 3/5 ( great but bland). Special Uttapam 5/5 (rated by my 7 year old). Chicken 65 great aroma but could do better with fresher chicken. The man( sorry could'nt get the name) taking the order was very helpful. Ginger tea was fab. Dahi puri 5/5 excellent crunchy crispy. Perfect. Not too sour not too sweet. The ambience is good. But can do way better by fixing the fruit flies constantly on our food.

they are very slow in service, we ordered dosa and garlic naan + mix veg.. dosa they served first which has bad taste apart from coconut chutney. Second order they served after 25 minutes but just plain Naan not Garlic Naan and again we have to wait for next 7 minutes and mix veg curry got cold meanwhile. Recently we had a private ceremony @Dosa Hut, Craigieburn. Mr Abhinav and his team did a splendid job supporting and organizing things on happening day. You can choose your own choice of menu for private functions and Mr Abhinav will take extra care on request. Food was fantabulous I bet you will never get disappointed. I would highly suggest and recommend to stop by for taste or Call them to get more info to book function hall.

I could have given zero or -5 stars for the food we ordered pao bhaji was like chef was giving to beggars too salty you can taste only potato and mix veg no compassion in making or serving . I got served like they are either serving to better or some hungry monster. Then we ordered 70 mm dosa vegetarian chef special but it was so bloody taste less too salty too . U can see raw onion in there in masala . So bloody disappointed.

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and the staff is also really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is pretty good, with a variety of multi cultural dishes and for their prices it’s 100% worth it.

I ordered today samosa chaat and chicken 65 biryani samosa chaat they used old samosa its very cold they just put yogurt all over the samosa taste is very yuck i get very badly stomach pain after eating samosa chaat I recommend to everyone order samosa chat and biryani they just use saffron rice and they put 2 boiled egg in chicken 65 biryani i wasted my money and time 1 hour to wait for order as well

Been here a few times, the dahi puri was good, prawn roast biryani was just the salan they serve on the side mixed into orange rice with meat pieces.The egg noodles are consistently good. Tried another biryani on another day and was pretty bad too. Overall they need to improve the quality of biryani or take it off their menu. Good service and ambience-only reason for 2 stars.

The Lamb Roganjosh did not taste quite right and it was because they put 8 cardamom pods into a single dish overpowering the other ingredients. Further the stuffed cheese and garlic naan bread was slightly misleading in the description as it said stuffed when in reality it is not stuffed but comes on top of the bread

Worst food. I ordered fish Tikka and the fish was soggy from inside and not even crispy. Don’t go there!! Wasted our dinner !!
