Doug Disher Real Estate Toowong ☆The greatest support I've ever had from a property manager in my life!!☆ This story is also for people who are struggling to find a Rental Property in Brisbane West area, feeling exhausted, hopelessness, and like this never gonna end. I feel you...it's so so tough to get a rental property right now around Brisbane. I was one of them until a few weeks ago. Our property hunting was quite difficult as my hubby and me are both unemployed atm (job seekers) with a little toddler, although we have enough saving and capable of paying for rent even 6 months+ in advance(that's I started on all my applications). Our current rental unit has a pre-existing/recurrent mould issue in our bedroom closet prior to SE QLD floods in Feb/Mar. I had to take all stuff out/in every 5 months to breach/clean whole the big closet, but smelled mouldy all the time since 2019. So, it was No surprise the floods & weeks of rain+humidity made our bedroom fully moulded. Now we are sleeping in a lounge since then. Our Main Bedroom with En suite door is now totally sealed. We have been sick for 3 years (without knowing that was caused by mould) and I had been asking property manager/landlord to do something for the closet since 2020. When I rose this mould+health issues, the manager/landlord didn't believe that the mould caused our health issues and just asking us to break our lease. They won't accept the rent reduction or any compensations because that said that "this is a building structural issue: Body corporate has to pay for it" So, I decided to start looking for a new home for us. My apartment neighbour strongly recommended me to go Doug Disher (DD) "They will find your place!" She said. But at the time I thought all property managers are the same, doing their "JOBs" for their money, and bare minimum. Then I met Ms Ivoni Mane from DD. I felt she is a different than other property managers. She knows how to treat people well. She is accountable and responsible to do her job properly as a professional property managemer. She is a bright person as exactly website profile describes: Enjoys hey job, I can tell. Ivoni kindly gave me a great understanding and compassion on my situation. Then she asked me what kind of property we are looking for. She made sure that I won't miss out any coming up inspections: sent me emails and checking/reminded me if I can join. I kept failing my 30 applications, but she encouraged keeping my hope. And "Don't worry, I will find your place" she said (sounds familiar?) Ivoni also well explained some tips for my applications to be stand out. How important a cover letter is to provide some personal info and let owners to know you. She gave me a couple of examples personalised info/reasons that I could include my application. Guess what? We've got our place in an area we wanted!!! So so happy!!! Many of managers can be just landlord side and asking higher rent from renters, yet not helping or supporting much for renters. But, Ivoni works and considers for both side. She is an ideal property manager you want to meet. Renting is just a beginning. While you are renting a place, you want to live peacefully and comfortably without having any trouble of your place. I'm very happy to be under her care from now on. And I'm so happily leaving from current manager who ignores my emails often.

I had a really great experience with Doug Disher himself when I was looking for my first property to buy, he was helpful even when I purchased through a different realtor. However, I engaged with their property manager to take over the remainder of the lease before I moved in and had nothing but issues. The PM let the tenant out without my approval and then tried to say I had approved 2 weeks notice, then ignored my emails when I provided screenshots of emails that showed that I said I was happy to negotiate a date if it worked for me. As I was painting and replacing carpet, I advised that those items didn’t need to be cleaned when vacating but the rest of the house had to be clean. I was overseas at the time the tenant vacated (early… because they let her leave) and had to spend time going through every single photo writing a detailed list of what the tenant needed to come back and clean, as apparently “everything but walls and carpets” wasn’t clear enough. The tenant came back to clean again and the PM said it had all been done. When I got home 2 weeks later I picked up the keys and did a walk through - see pics of what I cleaned from above the kitchen cupboards, under the vanity and finally the hair that was in the shower drain. I approached the PM again and she said the tenant couldn’t come back and clean it but PM would come do it herself. By this point I was over it, I emailed saying that I assume her bond had already been released to her and I would just do it myself and never heard anything back from her again. I don’t know what I was paying them for, is it not a PMs job to ensure the property is clean on vacate??? The entire experience was a nightmare and added so much extra stress to what is supposed to be an exciting milestone.

Amazing experience with Doug Disher Real Estate. It was our first time ever leasing through an agency and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our property Manager, Tania, was extremely nice and was always ready to be of assistance. She knew what it was like to be a tenant, and understood mine and my housemates situation very well. Right at the end of the lease, we had some issues with the bond cleaners, and even with those issues, Tania was really understanding and took time out of her busy schedule to help us out. It always felt like we were talking to a friend, which really let us enjoy our time leasing with her. Another five star name from Doug Disher Real estate is Ivoni. She was a great leasing agent and was always ready to help us in our search for a new place at the end of our lease. She would always bring a smile to our faces and had a really great way of presenting herself when showing us properties. We had a lot of fun chatting and getting to know Ivoni (though it may have only been towards the end of our lease that we got to know her well). tldr; Doug Disher Real Estate has a lot of really great and hard working women who are always ready to help and have a laugh! 5 star experience!

The team I've interacted with at Doug Disher have all been fantastic but I have to make special mention of my Property Manager, Charlotte Young. It feels like Charlotte actually *gets* what it's like to be a tenant. She is incredibly friendly, she's efficient, responsive, empathetic and approachable. Nothing is too much trouble for her and I trust that when I send an email or call, she's on it and doesn't make me feel like a burden. I have never once been keen for a real estate inspection, but I literally asked her when she was coming to inspect so she could meet my cat (other cat people will understand). Also a big thanks to Ivoni who was super helpful with advice for my application and generous with her time at my initial inspection. Edited to add*: This was the first and only property I applied for during a rental crisis and I got it, approved by COB Monday following Saturday inspection. I feel like Ivoni and Charlotte put in a good word for me with the landlord or something. Clearly Doug Disher leads a star team with stellar training. If I ever buy an investment property (lol), I'd rent it through DD.

The sale of the century. After 31 years living in an old Queensland Cottage built in 1910, it was time to go into something modern. I loved that house and it has most of my adult memories ( good,great and bad). But it needed lots of work to bring it up to this century, and my heart wasn't in it. Doug and son Toby were aware of that from the start and made every step of the way stress free and smooth. I applaud their professionalism, and transparency of every process related to me. A͏ cut above! From͏ the very outset Toby's communication and care was apparent. These two factors are crucial in what is normally a highly stressful process of selling or buying a property. His communication far exceeded previous experiences with agents in the area and it made the decision to list my property with him very easy. Notching was too much trouble for Toby to investigate or to attend to on my behalf as the purchaser.
