BUYER BEWARE Last night, my tenant must have activated the auto-lock feature and was not able to get back into the apartment (with his key). The tech showed up pretty quickly, but didn't let him/us know the cost on the phone and I was charged almost $500 to drill out the cylinder ($25 part) and replace, simply because it was 10pm? The whole service call didn't take more than 15 minutes. The tech then said he had to adjust the door but my tenant said nothing was done. On top of it all, they removed the auto-lock part and took it with him. Very disappointed, and I'm a local landlord right around the corner!

Downtown Locksmith & Keys did an excellent job from start to finish. The staff that took my booking call were very helpful and friendly. I'm beyond happy with the technician who attended. Eric arrived early and was helpful, polite, and extremely patient when there was a delay in getting my key code. I will definitely recommend it to family and friends if ever needed. Two stars because the tech showed up relatively quickly and was polite. But only two stars because he charged $640 to drill out the cylinder and replace it (like an $85 value) simply because I was locked out of my apartment and it was 10pm. The whole thing probably took 20 minutes, and the lock was perfectly good, there was nothing wrong with it. I live right across the street from these guys. Highway robbery.

They would never give me a quote over the phone like I requested (I requested this several times during the conversation ). And once they arrive, they tried to charge me a ridiculous price to cut a simple lock. Never again
