I'm writing this review a couple years after being sent to this doctor because of the difficulty in finding a different specialist for treating something now. When I went to see this doctor , i couldn't believe the waiting room to begin with .There were so many people there that I thought there must be other doctors. Theres no doubting the doctors medical skills but having to endure his treatment and not just me judging by the comments I see , to swear never to go back once I walked out . A new problem of a more serious nature happened to one of my eyes and when I asked for a different specialist to be referred to weeks ago , I was told it might be a bit of a wait instead of getting in within 48 hours to see doctor Arora for it .Covid obviously has had a hand in a longer delay but I almost feel is if I'm being forced to see him again if I want it taken care of . Which brings me to my point , I'm sure I'm not the only one in this position as I'm sure none of these patients writing bad reviews will be going back to him soon , is this guy got some kind of monopoly in this area ?. I read the one review mentioning how doctor Arora works 6 days a week as if that makes him good. Maybe that's why he seems to be the most available doctor in this area and why he can have such a lousy bedside manner .No doctor is that good that you deserve to be treated the way you are by both him or back then his staff . My eyesight is more important then me being stubborn to see him again but that's how bad my previous experience was with him .
First time having a retinal surgery, or any surgery of any kind. Not knowing what to expect, and very nervous. DR. Arora was HORRIBLE to say the least. No information given to me on what post op I needed to know, no information on what the surgery entails other than time, date and have a driver. When arriving to the surgery was only given drops to dilate my eye, nothing for numbing/ freezing my eye. When he started the surgery there was no reassurance on the procedure to calm my nerves. And when I said I can feel all the pain and laser he said it’s fine! And processed to have the nurse hold me down to complete the surgery. Once I pulled away feeling as if I’m about to Be blind as I could only see purple and green I panicked, asking if this is normal and he responded with you’ll be fine. Bed side manner was horrible and no compassion. After asking for information as in what to take for pain or what I needed to do after surgery he failed to inform. I wish there was a way in having his license revoked or investigated as this was the most horrible and traumatic experience iv ever had with a surgery/ with a doctor. Few years later needed another surgery can say I did not have the same experience and almost night a day compared to this one. Hope he has not taken someone’s eye sight due to his negligence.
If I could give them NEGATIVE stars I would let me tell you. My boyfriend had an appointment today with the Eye specialist. I as his driver had the responsibility to take him to and from said appointment. My car would not start. We BOTH called the office a collective EIGHTEEN times with zero answer only call failed signals and busy lines. I understand this is a specialist but do your Admins REALLY not have the time to just answer and say “please hold” This is absurd. When they did finally pick up I was spoken to extremely rude. I was unable to get any words out due to the receptionist rudely interrupting me. When I did bring it up the only answer I got was “we’re busy” hunny I went through school for medical admin. I know for a fact there is time to at the very least 1: treat your clients and patients with respect And 2: answer the phone to politely tell the other to hold I was spoken down to and pretty well told off. Seems like all this doctor cares about is his or her pocket book and not the public health of others or even basic human respect. I do not recommend this office at all. Extremely rude and condescending staff. Also it would do you some good to invest in an answering machine maybe??
I was checking for the address of Dr Arora and came across these poor reviews and felt compelled to respond. The Dr’s eye care is absolutely top notch and his staff are excellent in one of the busiest health care centres I’ve ever experienced. While the office setting (and parking) is a bit chaotic - if you are patient and a considerate patient you will observe that it is actually “very organized chaos”. If you follow their process - it all works! It is very difficult to find quality eye care and Dr V Arora has a practice that focuses on what he does best - fixing and maintaining your eye sight in the most expedient way possible in Ontario’s strained health care infrastructure. My rating is 4 because parking is very limited but once you’ve been their once you just plan around it and often need a driver anyway. (I’m having a Drive through drop off thought!). Be well eye care people!
Everyone should do themselves a favor and find another specialist. Dr. Arora and his staff are extremely rude. I have a medical exemption and can not wear a mask or face covering. The receptionist are even worse. Dr. Arora just called me to give me results of a test. He was very patronizing and sarcastic. He asked me how is it that I am exempt and what my exemption was which is ILLEGAL! I tried suggesting he educate himself and his staff on the city and provincial by-laws and again was met with attitude. I've had to go into the office twice during this mess and both receptionist rolled their eyes at me and tried to shame me for not wearing a mask. I will not return. I don't believe in supporting anyone that DISCRIMINATES AGAINST PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES! if I could give 0 stars I would. Again I suggest moving on from this doctor and his staff. Very shameful behavior.
If I could give the Dr a minus minus star I would Just because if I was a senior I would of got the exam done free thru the OHip. He wanted to charge me 50$ for that exam or come back and make another appointment it would of been covered! Do sad he’s there for the money not for his patients The sad thing is that they get like 20 or so and then try hey put drops in y to I dilate the eyes wait till you name is called. Dr calls your name by the time your ready to sit down dr will look into your eyes for a second or two and your out of his office. It’s like an assembly line. Underneath his care for almost 20 years. Dr tells me that I needed injections in both eyes I was not dure. Had to family doctor that I wanted a new eye dr. Went to see the new dr I asked him if I needed the injections he said no. I was glad I was out that greed of a dr!!
My husband has been seen by Dr. Arora and his colleagues for years. Although I agree with some others that our early experiences were not what you would expect of a professional practice, I must comment on the extreme lack of Ophthalmologists and how extremely overwhelmed this practice continues to be. I agree that the answering of phone was hopeless, but, the care given, although sometimes personalities clashed, was excellent. More recently, the phone issue, replies to queries left on voicemail and front line reception is so much more efficient and, despite the same incredible load these professionals care for, is as fast and efficient as possible. I’m happy to have to wait in line given the alternative.
I am not impressed at all with the secretaries of the eye Dr. I called in to cancel my appt. and was put on hold for more than 10 minutes without being acknowledged. I find the secretaries extremely rude. They never smile and never make you feel like they care for their patients. Also the family Dr. and eye Dr. share one phone line. Therefore, very hard to get through to either one of the Drs. On a positive note Dr. Arora (eye specialist) has very good bedside manner. He speaks very nicely and shows he cares for his patient.
Buddy if this was the last doctor on earth, I’d take my own life and do myself a favour. I’ve never heard of a dr that doesn’t even follow up, let alone when they do, it’s the secretary on the line. She talks on the phone and rushes you as if she’s got someone chasing her. “Yep just take your vitamins, k bye.” No questions, no proper dr to patient consultation, nothing. A high school nurse could give me a better assessment. Good luck with that wack establishment you call a drs office.
Another patient was being very rude and racist to my mother in law while she was waiting for her husband and instead of getting that dirt bag away from her the assistants decide to go over and proceed with what he was doing by asking her why she's still here and who she's with and let the guy continue to sit next to her harassing her while they kept watching I promise you I will take action and get these people dealt with properly. Management please retrain your staff.
I just started seeing this doctor. He seems fine to me. There's alot of negative reviews but are about rudeness. Tbh I never got that impression by him. He just seems straight to the point, he answered the questions I asked. We aren't there to be socializing. The office may need to be updated a bit with the files everywhere and equipment looks older. But if there working and clean I'm good. He seems like a doctor that knows what he is doing, eye care wise.
My experience with Dr. Arora was very positive. He came highly recommended by my eye doctor who I trust very much. I visited Dr. Arora on 2 different occasions and had an over-the-phone follow-up. He fixed my retina issue quickly using a laser and made me feel very comfortable throughout the process. His staff was courteous as well. I am surprised at his overall star rating because I had a 5-star experience every time. Thank you Dr. Arora.
I don't even go to this doctor's office but I'm leaving a review because my best friend has left SO many angry voicemails for me over the past year about how disorganized and rude this office is. Things like receptionists losing her forms, not being able to reach the office via phone for DAYS, massive delays in renewing prescriptions when they said they'd send it later that day. Don't go here. It stresses me out just listening to it.
Nicole is such an awesome human. She makes the very challenging experience manageable. She is personable and her kindness is noteworthy. She remembers pets names and makes sure Dad is never nervous for his injections. Dr. Arora is compassionate and ensures the freezing is manageable and always makes sure to listen to concerns. He is such a wonderful person who we would gladly have over for dinner. 10/10
I have been a patient of Dr Aura for 20 years now, she is always professional, listens to my concerns, sends me to specialists when she feels warranted.. she has always been kind to me along with her receptionist rarely have to wait to long getting an appointment or waiting in office to see her.. My family and I are very happy to have her as our physician..
It felt I am in a very fast assembly line. How is the quality of service...honestly can not tell. But personally never seen quality and Rush going well together.anyways only two doctors with retina speciality in this town...so people have not much choice. But one thing for sure the Doctor making a huge fortune here Good for him
Extremely rude and belittling.. literally torturing people and stealing their money.. doesn’t do procedures properly and only causes pain and further damage.. please please please do not go to him.. I think he honestly should loose his license to practice .. had several patients tell me there stories and it’s appalling
First visit today..Got there a little early so I sat reading these reviews Made myself nervous but All for nothing!!! Great friendly staff and kind Doctor Yes very busy office I think many people in today's time Think it is all about them! Line busy...leave a message Thank you to all the staff Debbie Taylor
I I can only put 0 star I am happy to do it. For all the doctors i have ever meet Dr. Arora was the worst and unprofessional doctor. He don’t Deserve to serve to the community the way he treat his patients. And I can tell this in front of his face. Patients are human to be treated as human he is not.
Very very disappointed with the assistant behaviour. She thinks that without going through her, no one can reach doctor. And she misbehaves and use strong and harsh language. My wife was treated like an animal by the assistant and never given appointment, once she missed it. Very poor performance.
2 years later, come back to give Dr Arora another chance. Without me knowing they removed my file and have rejected helping me. Health doesn’t matter to her… receptionist is very unwelcoming & I never leave feeling my conditions were properly investigated or that my health mattered..
This office does not even deserve 1 star rating but just the fact that the staff are breathing is the only reason I gave 1 star. Unbelievable from the time you check in to when you leave. No common courtesy here. Disappointing they allow this place to be open to humans.
What a joke, how does a place like this be allowed to operate. My doctor can't even get their notes so I can get a new specialist let alone them ever answering the phone for me. STAY AWAY AND ASK FOR A DIFFERENT DOCTOR IF EVER REFERED TO HERE.
The person a female doing the eye exam before seeing the Dr was very rude because my mother didn't wear a mask treated her badly and when my mother thanked her she turned and walked away. Terrible customer service
You need to answer your phones! I work in a healthcare facility and this completely unacceptable! I understand we’re all busy, but phones should be answered always unless on break. I have called for days straight
First and last visit some time ago. Reading recent reviews tell me that nothing has changed. Dilation eyedrops in the waiting room! How about some privacy please. Too crowded and overbooked. …
This one of the best doctors offices I’ve been to. Efficient. Friendly. Knowledgeable. Doctor is top notch. Staff and nurses are friendly and know what they need to do. You are in good hands.
Family Dr. is wonderful, however, the shared amenities between two busy practices makes it difficult for patients of both Dr.'s that share the space, parking, phone lines etc...
Very experienced, knowledgeable Dr. My father had diabetic issues causing him eye problems and he gave him few injections and fixed his issues---Thank you Dr Arora
Get a second phone line pleaseeeeeeeeee ! It’s so hard to get through to your office :(
Never answer the phone, tiny parking lot and generally just rude.
Old ways managing the data really bad way to finish the work
They do not even answer the phone
Service quick but must follow-up.
He is a fine Doctor and Surgeon
