Hello everyone let me tell you about our experience at the drink bar. We took a weekend vacation to SA this past weekend as you know everyone goes to river walk we had a great experience there at all restaurants and bars. The last night there we went to the drink bar because it was just across our hotel Cortessa. The day waitress was so friendly and gave us great service and made us feel welcome. She was leaving she ask if we could close tab with her we gave her a good tip and thanked her for being a good server/waitress. Another waitress came in we decided to stay thinking it was fun there so far but let me tell you all this evening waitress was so rude she told us she’s not there to cater tío us that we had to go to the bar and ask for the drinks, now the other waitress was bring our drinks to us. She made it clear to us I am not her and that is it. To make story short everyone was leaving the bar only a few were there. I told husband let’s go to other place this waitress obviously is not the owner cuz she don’t care to keep customers and make money. We got up and left but before that I left 2 pennies and told her thanks for nothing and there’s your tip. We went to another bar and spent 120 and the waitress 20 tip. Big mistake on her part and poor owner to have her there running off customers. Never again will we go to that bar.

It is so nice to find a bar with a fantastic atmosphere like this in downtown San Antonio, which can be touristy at times. If you are looking for a more refined location (without the body shots and fraternity brothers visiting the Riverwalk), then visit Drink. You will not be disappointed. GREAT margaritas! The bar is conveniently located very close to the Riverwalk, right across from the Hotel Contessa. The bartenders are really fast and attentive, the drinks are creative and well-crafted, and the people are great. You can find classic cocktails, or request a new, fun drink to be made. Reasonably priced for the quality and the high level of service. You can sit at the bar and watch a game after work, chat with a friend on the comfortable couches, or have a nightcap after a wild night out. I highly recommend this bar.

Have been waiting outside for 30-45 minutes already. Other occupants were coming outside to smoke taking their time and get the chance to go back in while others in line have been waiting and don’t get their chance to go in these smokers should have to wait in line all over again just like everyone else. Asked the bouncer how much longer of a wait when realized that other occupants were leaving and he stated that they were over capacity that’s why they weren’t letting others in so I don’t understand why they couldn’t go over capacity again if they already did it once or twice & he said that is because those customers have been there all day. I call favoritism on that and they shouldn’t be serving these customers ALL day that is the very definition of OVER-SERVING!!

Fun, thorough mix of pop, dance and country to appease everyone. Friendly, welcoming staff who were over the top in service, even with the crowd. We never had to wait longer than about a minute to get fresh drinks. Bathrooms were very small, but tidy and clean. I liked how both bathrooms were generic, so if there really wasn't a line for either, which was smart. The crowd was a mix of early 20's thru 50's and while the dance floor was very tiny, that didn't stop the guests from dancing pretty much all over the bar, which was cool to see. The drinks were reasonably priced and they were quick to cleanup and sanitize when guests left. All and all, a great place to hang, but not overly crowded like the Riverwalk locations and it was just two blocks from the Riverwalk.

Interesting interaction. I went over at 11:30 pm to meet with the group of friends I was with, and the “bouncer” stopped me and told me that they were at capacity. As he told me that he allowed a group of 6 individuals go in all while he was patting their backs and shaking their hands (because he knew them) not worth the time. Way better bars to go to. I had a unique experience here. One that I think is worth sharing. I visited here recently. I was celebrating with a group, and we decided to have a few drinks here. We all got tipsy, but moments after closing my tab, I was cut off for "being too drunk". Other patrons were crawling on their chairs. People were spinning in place, drunk. But me helping the other drunks find their seat, was not allowed back in. Maybe they didn't think I tipped enough, even though I was fair. I see others have had similar experiences. Really makes you think.

Ok, so we went to all the tourist trap bars and stuff, but for 2 drinks was 28 bucks.... So we end up finding this place, and at first glance it doesn't look like much with the couch kind of falling apart, but man... The staff is awesome, and the drinks are cheap and strong. Music is awesome and the night we went it was just great 90s/2000 bangers. Seriously use this place as at the very least a pregame to your other places you go. They will take shots with you and the atmosphere is fun as hell. Great job guys!

My family was on vacation in San Antonio and we came across this place. The drinks were incredible, the service was amazing, and our bartender was so kind. She explained each signature cocktail in detail and how they represent the state and city. We loved it so much we had to come back the next day! I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area and looking for a cool little place to get some drinks!

One bartender was cool. The other was doing her job but way too fast to throw someone out of the bar. My father was denied service, and I have no objections to that. The bouncer was a nice person. Didn't act hastily and understood the going ons in the city. But if you want to find a place to do illegal drugs in a very poorly taken care of bathroom. This is the place to go! Yay...cocaine.

Unprofessional bartender girl on power trip, very rude and unfriendly. This occurred sometime in January 2013 but will never return due to the lack of hospitality. The bartender was more concerned about talking and making out with her boyfriend outside of the bar. Considering the atmosphere was cozy, very dissapointed. Wish another bartender could have taken care of us.

Bartender naissa is the worse bartender I can ever meet. Me and my husband were celebrating our anniversary and she saw my husband and run to hug him in front of me . I don’t think this bartender attitude was right it can create problems I think managers should talk to their employees about a policy not Hug married men ... this places is a bar not a strip club.

The bartender Crystal did not acknowledge us she spent most of her time talking to a customer on the far right side of the bar his drink was half way done. We waited 10 minutes and no service .I hope she gets a good tip from the customer that kept her from doing her job .It was a real disappointment from the first visit which was great .

The bar itself was nice. However our bartender ruined the experience for us. Any attmept to talk to her resulted in a very awkward stare from her. We felt very out of place because we tried to strike up a conversation. She had a very condescending tone with us the whole time. After one beer we rushed out. We will never go back.

Great vibes they play good music and the air-conditioning works great, it was well in to the 100's I was in 2 other bars in the area and was sweating more then I was outside until I got to Drink I got a cold beverage cooled down n there bartender is realy nice

Drink Texas is right downtown & a good place for a cold one. I had to use their bathroom on Sunday about 2:30 PM; they open at 2 every day. Pretty dead early on a Sunday; probably more lively later in the week & later in the day. Still, a cold Shiner Light draft was $3.75, so a great price for a cold beer.

Dive bar with what appears to be a lot of usual suspects. Music by the DJ was better than many on the riverwalk. Not my type of hangout however it was across the street from our hotel and the hotel bars closed down at midnight, so it was a convenient walk across the street for another beer before bedtime.

I loved this place. When I walked in I had doubts because it is so small but then once I ordered drinks and the dj was playing the awesome music he had I loved it. The size is perfect for that place and the bartenders are very friendly. I will definitely go again next time I am in San Antonio

First time checking this place out... It's small but it was a blast! The DJ was really interactive and even walked around just seeing how people were doing. What made this place amazing was that the bartenders were great people! Always smiling and joking around! Great place and great drinks!

Good A.C., saved my life as I was walking through the 105 degree weather. Drinks tasted fresh and the staff were very friendly and attentive, as well as punctual with servicing us! The ONLY downside is that they only have 1-person bathrooms, which can be a little inconvenient at a bar.

Good bar and good atmosphere .They had various board games we could play. Although i did find the drinks pretty pricy compared to other bars around. I understand its a higher end bar than some others but if your getting a standard beer a $ 2.00 increase is not worth it.

Bartender was awful. Waited near 10 minutes and would not acknowledge me nor any of our group. At one point, when we tried to talk to her, she immediately turned around and helped someone else who just walked up. Seems to be a common complaint here. Won't be back.

2-9pm everyday 2.50 wells and draft bud lights..its now one of my goto bars to pregame downtown..nice bar as well.never knew about it cause its hidden but its not a far walk from the lasoya street bars such as on the rocks and pat Os. I recommend this place

Not too bad. Service was great. Beers were ok, the one I ordered at first out. Bummer. I mean it is a good beer. Not blaming the bar for being out. Had other great choices on tap. Had a good time. I would definitely recommend and try to make it back soon.

This place was pretty awesome surprisingly. Heard bout this place from a friend. Younger crowd comes later on in the night. Our party got there around 930, shortly after that's when the older crowd started leaving. Good music. Good drink prices.

Was a quiet little place off the beaten path. It is a Saturday and they have DJ blasting the music (no dance floor and no one dancing). Used to be able to sit on the couch and chill. They must be trying to attract the riverwalk crowd.

Chill little hole in the wall place. Staff was nice. Several TV's to watch game. Not sure if they play ppv or have Sunday ticket. Drinks are good not overly priced. Good place to maybe start the night with some friends.

If u enjoy annoying men yelling at a baseball team. While the waiters takes her tune with ur water down drinks. Then this is the place to be

I was staying at the Contessa and found Drink over the road. It's about a third of the price of the bar in the hotel and much more mellow. Thanks to the bartenders for great food recommendations during my stay!

Selena was amazing. It was my first time here & she gave us Texas hospitality. She deserves a raise! Thank you so much for employing kind and sweet people like her. Would definitely come back

Great little bar, staff was very friendly and they have a good variety of beer on tap!!! I suggest to anyone who is looking to pull up a stool to the bar and watch a game or just hang out with some friends!!!!

Nice place to hang out with friends I love the atmosphere and even the settings of this bar. I think they have a new bartender now because she's more friendly and she always smile also when you ask to her.

I hadn't seen this place before since it's hidden across from the Hotel Contessa. The prices are very low for the Riverwalk. You can get a draft beer for $2.50. Service is fast and friendly.

Walked in. Stayed 2 minutes and walked straight out again! Felt the bar was very uncomfortable even though I was with my husband. No welcoming bar staff....did not like the atmosphere.....

Came in on a Friday night from Hotel Contessa, sat at a table for 10 minutes at a bar with 15 people in it and couldn’t get service. I guess there is a reason it’s not busy on a Friday.

Great atmosphere the bartenders are super super wonderful the Dj is awesome the owner is the bomb love the spot and I would recommended to everyone that comes to San Antonio❤ …

Nothing too fancy but a great place for a drink after work. Decent small selection of draft usually, a few bar food menu items, decent selection of hard liquors, and decent prices.

In my honest opinion drink Texas is the best bar to go to downtown because it's very clean the drink specials are great and so are the bartenders. And they always have the best DJs

Had such a great time at this bar with the awesome bartender, Kelsey!! She was super friendly, attentive, and made great drinks. Would definitely go back here on our next trip.

Good price, good crowd, great service. Prompt attention, young crowd and very friendly, good pour. Loud for an older person but the crowd having a good time made it tolerable.

Good bar to go to for a drink. Cocktails are pricey but they do a good job. No issues with the staff, there are certainly nicer bars to go to but I can't say this one was bad.

Monday night on the 13 something fishy was going on there last night how in the hell drinking 4 beer come out to $44.00 was she pay someone drinks and charging my card . …

Great place to really chill especially when other bars alike are over crowded...bartends are nice n friendly.. always know how to mix a good drink...highly recommend this spot

They had a DJ so tried to dance. They kicked off us out for being “drunk”. I tried to exlpain that we just wanted to dance. And they said that dancing means you are drunk.

Very nice waterin hole! Was here several times during my stay in San Antonio. Small, and the times I was here, not rowdy…just a good hang out. Loved it!

I had my birthday here and it was awesome. The manager reserved space for my group and they really looked after us. Try the upside down pineapple shot!

Highly recommended visiting this bar, great for Sunday Funday. Drinks are reasonably priced and have specials all the time. Friendly staff as well.

Been here since Friday and been loving it! Here on business and it's a great joint to have a drink or two, staff is very polite and professional.

Staff was to busy talking to eachother to even come see if we need a drink. When we went up to get a drink the bartender wasn't very friendly.

I had a Texas roll up drink. I enjoyed it so much that I had another. The atmosphere was pretty chill. Not too busy when I went either.

Drink Texas Bar is a great place to go with the girls on the weekend. It pulls ina pretty eclectic crowd and the drinks are strong!

Pretty cool bar but the service was kinda slow. In their defense, it was fiesta. Music was good and everyone was friendly.

It's an excellent local townie bar with amazing drink specials, and the drinks are definitely well-made.

Scary. Not clean. I would be afraid of catching something by sitting on the couches along the wall.

This is the best bar to hit up downtown. The place is very clean and the staff is super friendly.
