Avoid. We took our Citroen C3 to Dundalk Motors in August 2022 for an MOT because our normal garage couldn't fit it in. The car failed the MOT due to a number of issues, including worn suspension arm ball joints. Under a time pressure to get the car on the road we spent over £1100 at Dundalk resolving the issues - crazily overpriced but we needed the car on the road. ~£375 of this was on the labour and parts for the suspension. Four months later, the car was handling terribly on an Xmas motorway drive. We pulled into a service station and noticed both the front tyres were slick. We then spent the rest of the day sitting in a Kwik Fit getting the tracking checked ('off the scale bad') and paying another ~£220 to have new tyres fitted and the wheels aligned, allowing us to continue the journey. Another fun detail? When the Kwik Fit guys came to take the wheels off to replace the worn tyres they found the locking key had been damaged by whoever took the wheels off last (that would be... Dundalk), meaning the locknuts had to be drilled out and replaced, costing a further £150. It would have been nice to get a heads up about this, rather than just putting the damaged locking key back in the glove box & waiting for us to discover for ourselves at the least convenient time. This week (three months later) I notice the brakes are intermittently spongy both a) when the car has been parked and b) when doing 3 point turns. After discounting low brake fluid, seized callipers etc I take the car to our usual garage to try and diagnose the issue. On the lift the mechanic shows me that on the driver's side the anti-roll bar of the recently installed suspension has been pressing on the inside of the brake calliper when the steering is fully locked, preventing it from returning to the correct position. On the passenger side part of the suspension has been rubbing against the brake line. Problem solved with some adjustment of the shoddily installed suspension, another £80 spent diagnosing and fixing the issue. The underlying problem? Dundalk failed to realign the wheels when replacing the suspension (zero mention of alignment on the invoice), leading to a bunch of dangerous, expensive issues down the line. Save yourself the saga and pick a garage who do the job right the first time.

Took my car for an MOT . Big mistake. Failed my car on a few issues like bulb etc ( fair enough) and also on the emissions. I took it to my own mechanic to look at to fix bulb etc and take a look at emissions. When I took it back for a free retest they still kept on talking about issues, and that I should have left it with them to fix! They failed my car again. My mechanic who has over 20 years experience then took it to The MOT test centre in Deptford. IT PASSED. Dundalk are rip-off merchants, they just want to charge you hundreds to fix things that don't exist as they are not content with the £35 they charge for MOTS.The only reason why they have 4 stars from others is probably because they used them to fix something that cost them into the hundreds and they are happy to pay that! ...Take my advice go elsewhere! ............................................................................................................................ Thanks for your response Dundalk motors but you are missing the point. The bad experience is not from the fact that my car failed the MOT.My bad experience is from the way that your garage were persistent in saying that the emissions were an issue despite the fact that it was looked at and dealt with by my mechanic. Your garage also implied that if I had left it with them then they would have been able to fix it .I did not realise that Dundalk were the only garage who knew how to fix cars. In addition the age of my car has nothing to do with it so your childish comment about its age is not appreciated. As long as you care for your car and fix it over the years then surely it can be as good as any new car off of the showroom. Finally i would appreciate it if I was not contacted away from this platform. The offer of money to come and bring my car back is inappropriate and not appreciated in the slightest. Also the comment about bringing it back to get it checked again to prove that the emissions is still an issue is basically saying that the MOT centre that passed me does not know what they are doing...and therefore once again making Dundalk motors the authority over other MOT centres/mechanics. I am sorry but everyone is entitled to their own opinion and my opinion is that I would not recommend your MOT services.

My car was booked in for a full service and MOT. It had some issues with going into first gear. When I explained it to Dundalk they said you can't check the gearbox without taking everything out. I've had the issue before in a previous car and it can be to do with the connection between the gearbox and gear stick, which I shared with them. I know you can check the leads connecting the gearbox to the gearstick as AA repaired my car (with this issue) on the motorway before and ran me through how they did it. Dundalk said they didn't know that it's possible to do this (why not - they're a car repair shop?) and they'd check. However when they dropped the car back to my partner (a man) - because I was out - they said that I (a woman) just needed to push the gearstick harder and that their is no issue... The car still has the problem and it was the first thing that happened when my partner drove it next. The price of the service/MOT and the discussion up to that point was fine. But not listening to the problem, denying its existence and suggesting it's because a woman can't push the gearstick hard enough is incredibly rude, sexist and degrading. Not understanding how to check the connections also makes me doubt whether a) you understood the problem or b) you know what you're doing. There is no need to treat customers (or people) differently just because they're female and I'd recommend your staff undergo training.

Faulty service, the “fix” they did broke a week later. Stupidly expensive and no compassion or anything, watch how they try down play if they respond. As a customer it is at-least expected that you would be in good hands, nope. Not here you’re not. I am not from london, I was stranded here as my car malfunctioned. I went to them and they charged an arm and a leg. Ok cool, it is what it is. Week later it breaks and because of work, I had NO CHOICE but to fix it where I live. I rung them up and they said they can do nothing. Its their service and “fix” that put me in the situation!! Its a poor form of business. They let me do a payment plan, but I am still paying for a faulty service! Look at their reply, trying to spin the blame on me. As I said,I literally had no choice. It is your fix you need to take accountability for, its your fix that put me in the situation. How could I trust you with my car again? You can take my Money its what ever. But your response to this situation is piss poor. I expect better than this.

I was really disappointed with the full service received. At first, they were very accommodating to my needs for the car. However, after paying £100 for them to run a diagnostic test, I was then told that more money would be required in order to do further investigation to figure out the fault with my vehicle. This was obviously a shock to me, but the mechanic said he would contact me the following Monday to sort something out and get me rebooked. It is now Saturday and I still haven't even been contacted. Found another mechanic who managed to diagnose and sort out the problem entirely within a day. Yes, I was shocked that more money would have been required for further investigation, however, the needs for the car were very important. Had I been contacted, I would have continued with this garage but instead, I've just wasted £100.

My car was taken to this garage by Fixter for an MOT and full service. It was returned with a rattling noise in the front and instead of the motion sensor in the back (which helped me a lot when parking) it has now a loud beep every time I go backwards. I complained, took the car to the garage. Next day, they said the rattling was solved, I picked up the car, the rattling was still there. I took the car back to the garage, and later received a phone call from Fixter, saying that the noise came from the engine and that the garage would have to charge me to 'investigate it further'. The motion sensor in the back? 'Not our fault'. They seemed to be nice people, but now, with my rattling car and all that distressing experience, I know that they just took my money and didn't give a sh*t.

I have absolutely not a clue about cars. I had my MOT done last year here, and was very happy with the service and decided to go back. I had a major car service and MOT very recently. I feel those guys know what they are doing. Also, they are friendly and helpful too. They explained things in a friendly, reassuring, professional manner without talking too much :) My only issue was that they did my MOT before the service and my car failed (on windscreen wipers ). Still, it's a 5 ⭐️ as I should've questioned that, but I didn't. I did go through some of the reviews before booking my 2nd MOT/service and I was a little apprehensive.. no review is good or bad as long as it's honest. I will definitely go back and highly recommend them. Thank you very much!

I wasn't expecting i would have to wait weeks for work to be started on my car. I was eventually told this once my car was brought there and had been there a while. The issue I had was fixed by main dealer ford for less than half the price I was quoted by dundaulk!! The spark plug which couldn't be removed by dundaulk and was broken, I was warned that might happen tbf but was told the cylinder head needed to come off was fixed in an hour by ford. The thing that really upset me was my car that I thought was undrivable was drove from their premissis and parked round the corner next to a bus stop on the kerb with out me knowing or permission and left there and I only discovered this while I was out joggong!! Would never ever go back!!

My recent experience with this company was very pleasant. Dundalk motors London is a partner garage of my breakdown company AA. As I have fairly comprehensive breakdown cover I was advised by the technician that attended my breakdown to make good use of the cover. As this garage is an AA approved garage the whole process of getting my vehicle repaired was so easy. The staff demonstrated professionalism and great workmanship. From diagnosis to job completion, it was all done in a timely manner. I am a very happy customer and will definitely recommend this garage.

Highly recommend Dundalk Motors. I have been taking my car here for several years now and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Robert and the team are always polite, friendly and professional. When work is necessary, the staff take the time to explain and demonstrate exactly what needs to be done and why. They have great knowledge and know exactly what they are talking about. I've used this garage for many many years with a variety of vehicles. The staff here are first class and honest. They always come in very reasonably priced and have never advised me that additional work is required if it isn't. I have always felt absolutely confident in the work they have done on my cars. Even though I no longer live locally, I still take my car there for an MOT and any other work needed. This garage was recommended to me and I'm so glad that I listened.

I booked an MOT and a full service for 222£ and left my car with them. They called me saying that there were failiures and I needed to pay double to get them fixed. I got th impression that they made that up to make me pay more, but I accepted, my MOT was goining to expire that day. When they finished, they sent me a text offering me a 10% discount if I pay by cash. Why would any clean business accept to loose 10%of their sales for cash rather than card paiment?

over priced poor work. done my brakes for me before 140 mile round trip whist on motorway my brake fluid light started to flash, pulled over to check and found the brake fluid resevoir cap tucked up by the windscreen wipers. lucky i didnt start to loose fluid or stopping would have been a major problem. also quoted £200 plus to sort hanbrake, another garage told me hand brake is fine something was jamming the cable £48 labour no parts needed.

I took my car to them a while ago to diagnose turbo problems. Charged me £70 for diagnostic and told me that turbo needs replacing then quoted for £1500 including parts. Took it down to diesel specialist in Croydon and within an hour had a call back that there is no pressure due to hole in hose. Fixed same day and it cost me £70 not £1500. I don't recommend this place to anyone. Unless you want to pay for thier mistakes. AVOID !

A brilliant Service. Booked the car in to replace a broken wing mirror. They sourced the part for us, fitted the mirror and whilst in they checked all the tires, topped up the water, oil and made sure all the electric windows were running correctly. Most impressed. My MOT was done in no time, after having been welcomed with the nicest manners by the entire staff. A few days ago, I got some stones stuck in the disc of one of my front wheels. Don't be fooled by the polite and friendly persona of this garage, they turned me away even though I was booked in for a diagnostic on my car by Prestige solutions (AA). They pick and choose which customer to support based on the value (cost) of the job. Only consolation is they recommended me to an alternative garage.

I was told a charge of £90 for inspection. Go to reputable company Halfords don't charge you for an Inspection esp no work or repairs done. Why would anyone pay 90. Be careful Dundalk before someone takes legal action against you. Think of the consequences of your poor judgement and actions.

Save your money and avoid if you don't like surprises!!! The whole experience was quite unpleasant! They "fixed" my indicators, now they don't even turn on! They also scratched my alloys but denied it!!!
