(Part 2 to Samir Amin) Another weird aspect regarding the school was the awards ceremony. This was when the graduating students would receive awards for certain achievements, some examples being having the highest average or being the best athlete. There were certain awards for excelling in certain school subjects, such as math, science, history and geography. This seems like a very straightforward method that wouldn’t have many flaws, right? Wrong. Leave it to the public education system to screw it all up. They could have gone with any method of determining the recipient of each award, like the highest mark in each subject, the brightest student in each subject or even gathering every single teacher and having a thought out discussion regarding all of the students. Instead, they decided to base it mostly on favouritism. Let me tell you a story based on experience. I had the highest average in the school (not tryna flex), so it seems obvious that I should be the rightful owner of the “academic award” (The award is given to the student with the highest average). Obvious, right? It seems so simple, that there’s no way they could mess it up. Well, guess what happened. The great education system that is feeding the brains of the next generation messed it up. They decided, that since one particular student was going through some personal problems, that she should receive the award. Now, if she had a higher average than me, fair play. But the thing is, she didn’t! Tell me, how can you base the recipient of the “academic award” on a personal level. This award is strictly academic-based, therefore there should not be a question that I should be the one to receive it, and thankfully, one of my former teachers realized this as well. She emailed the teachers responsible for choosing the awards and fought for my right to the academic award. Funnily enough, the teachers choosing the awards were all in the French Immersion program, which doesn't make much sense as the awards were school-wide. How can teachers that have never taught me judge my capabilities? They can’t. I don’t have any resentment towards these teachers, but I definitely think they should’ve diversified the “council”. Since this isn’t the 1800s, the French battling the English shouldn’t be a problem (obviously a joke). Since the girl was in the French Immersion Program, there might’ve been a bit of bias in the selection progress, which didn’t only apply to this one award, but all the others. In fact, most, if not, all academic related awards were given to students in the French Immersion Program. Now, I’m not saying there was bias, but there was definitely bias. I don’t even blame the teachers, because how are they supposed to judge the capabilities of the English students if they’ve never taught them? Obviously, they can’t, which is why they needed to invite some of the English teachers to choose the awards. I had a friend who was “robbed” of an award that I think he entirely deserved. In conclusion, practically all of these award problems were caused by the different programs. Look, I know it may seem like it, but I can guarantee you I’m not “salty”. I just want to bring attention to these flaws, and I even have a simple solution. Why not just give separate awards to each program? For example, give two science awards out; one to a Core French student and one to a French Immersion student. Think about it, how is a student learning the sciences in French supposed to compete with a student learning in English? They can’t. This would solve every single problem with the awards system and allow every teacher to have a say and every student to have a chance.

Do not care about anyone's well-being. Refuse to send kids to guidance counselor when they needed it. The principal sets a terrible example by wearing too much eyeliner and looking like an "emo", as well as forcing children who come to her for help to sit in her office for 2+ hours before telling them off. Vice-principal needs to attend therapy for extreme anger (yelling at children will not work, scare tactics aren't getting you anywhere). Everyone who is now graduated is either a self-absorbed donut, a "punk" style smoker, or a brilliant child who has been traumatized by the awfulness of this school and is now in need of the help they were never given there. Ever since 2012 the school has been going rapidly downhill in quality. There's a reason that less than 400 students attend this school; many parents were appalled by incidents that occurred and pulled their children out.

The some teachers are rude and my class are bad and the vice principle kinda rude, today my class didn't earn Kahoot tomorrow because my classmates are talking and didn't finish marking the whole pages of "LÉ MÉTIS" some of the replacement teachers are rude too.

This school wasn't good or bad(but not the worst school) because I saw a lot of people who didn't do anything wrong were sent to the office for no reason, I really loved the old principal. Still, he left and the new principal came to ruin everything I eventually hated the new principal, because he is rude, and everytime when my class goes there back to our class,he ALWAYS follows us and impact my feelings, but the vice principal was not bad unlike the new principal the vice principal knows everything what to do. When people graduate from Dunning Foubert, I always wish them very good luck in high school. I don't like some strict teachers but it is not why they're rude, because they could be very weird. But most of the strict teachers, they're not bad. Since it's okay we can fix it, and I really wish that the school will be better next year.

We were so scared to send our son to DFES after reading all reviews . Its been second year in the school now and I am taking this time to leave my opinion. We are absolutely in love with the school. Really impressed with the staff- principal mr.Latour, vp ms.Sharma, teachers - ms.Corbell, ms.Davis, mme Riopelle are making my son feel home at school. They are always in touch and ready to help us. Now with the remote learning during pandemic its so important to keep our kids active and teachers are doing a great job. Thank you very much for all your efforts. Very good school. 5 stars.

My childhood school. Walked out the door at 5 years old because I missed my mom. Was gone for several hours, no one realized i was missing. That was in kindergarten, in first grade a fellow student decided i needed to die for a reason that was never known to me. His name was Blake. I was in the principles office at least twice a week all year. My parents were never informed. This was a horrible school.

I graduated from this school in the early 1990’s, I remember having such wonderful and helpful teachers (ie. Mr. Max Mosion). The years that I spent at this school are very memorable and special ones.
